레이 브래드베리의 『화씨 451』과 지식 통제 사회 (Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 and Society of Controlled Knowledge)

  • This research compares a future society described in Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 (1953) to modern technopoly. The main protagonist of the novel, Guy Montag, is a fireman who burns books in a future society which does not allow people to read or own books. The future society which controls the expansion of knowledge is similar to technopoly which Neil Postman defines as a culture where people passively react to overflow of information. Bradbury compares Montag to several characters, such as his wife Mildred and Captain Beatty. With this comparison, Bradbury lets his readers look back themselves who live in a sea of information without being aware of the domination of technopoly. This research suggests that the reason people do not know that knowledge is controlled and limited is because they do not distinguish between knowledge and information. They misunderstand widely available information is knowledge as characters in Fahrenheit 451 feel stuffed with information. Since the 1990s, scholars and writers such as Neil Postman and Nicholas Carr have expressed problems with the excess of information, however Bradbury already predicted through Fahrenheit 451 in 1953 that the development of technology does not mean a higher level of knowledge. This research suggests what modern human beings have lost in vast amount of information rather than what they have gained.

지능정보사회에서 중고령자의 삶의 만족도 영향요인: 미래 지능정보기술의 인지와 태도를 중심으로 (Factors Affecting the Life Satisfaction of Middle and Old People in the Knowledge Information Society: Focusing on the Awareness and Attitude of Future Knowledge and Information Technology)

  • 본 연구는 최근 급격한 환경변화로 인하여 세대 간 디지털 격차가 더욱 심각해 질 것으로 예상됨에 따라, 중고령층을 대상으로 4차 산업혁명 관련 기술에 대한 인지 및 디지털기술 활용 등을 살펴보고 향후, 디지털 격차를 해소하기 위한 방안에 대해 제시하고자 하였다. 연구를 위하여, 2019년 디지털정보격차 실태조사 원시데이터를 활용하였다. 연구결과, 미래 지능정보사회에 대한 인지정도에 따라 디지털정보 활용 측면에 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 미래 지능정보사회에 대한 인지가 높은 그룹일수록 다양한 분야의 정보활용능력이 높게 나타났다. 중고령층의 삶의 만족도에 영향을 주는 요인으로 미래 지능정보기술의 필요성을 많이 인지할수록, 새로운 기술에 대한 자신감과 태도가 적극적일수록 삶의 만족도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 고령화 진전과 지식정보사회로의 전환시기로 디지털 격차 증대에 대한 우려가 논의되고 있는 시점에서, 중고령층의 디지털정보기술의 활용과 미래 지식정보기술의 인식과 태도가 삶의 만족도에 영향을 준다는 결과를 도출함으로써 중고령층의 삶의 질을 향상시키기 위한 디지털정보 기술의 활용능력이 중요함을 제시하였다. 향후 디지털 포용 관점에서 중고령층의 환경변화에 능동적으로 대응하기 위한 디지털정보 역량과 활용에 초점을 맞추는 정책이 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

한의학정보 검색엔진 개발을 위한 시소러스 연구 (A Study on the Thesaurus of Korean medical information for developing search engine)

  • From th Study on A Study on the Thesaurus of Korean medical information for developing search engine, the conclusion is as follow. Knowledge based information system consists of concepts, facts and relation. The final goal of developing the Knowledge based information system is to select, store and control the knowledge and information of Oriental Medicine. Considering limitation of organizing the knowledge system, it is difficult to realize complete basic system and application method. In order to work, it is necessary to combine experts in each part, for example Domain experts, Information and Knowledge engineer. Through the development of knowledge based information system, we can construct EMR(Electronic Medical Record) system in the near future, and it is possible to make semi-expert system. To make Knowledge based information system, we need to establish standards of information that make the distribution of Knowledge and information easily.

한국 대학생의 지식혼돈에 따른 미래의 지식활용 차이 예측의 시계열적 비교 분석 (A Study on the Comparisons of Future Knowledge Utilizing Difference Predicted by Chaos of Knowledge of Korean University Students)

  • 지식정보시스템의 발달로 사람들이 기억하는 것을 거부하는 증상이 커지고 있다. 또한 지식을 기억해야 하는 가에 대한 논란도 커지고 있다. 본 연구는 기억하는 지식과 찾는 지식에 대한 선호도 조사를 하였다. 선호 집단 간에 미래에 나타날 지식 활용의 용도, 효과, 용이성에 대한 기대를 예측하였다. 이러한 미래에 나타날 지식 활용에 대한 예측된 기대가 집단 간의 차이를 보이는지 분석하였다. 1차 연구는 2014년 10월에 진행하였다. 이번 연구는 2차 연구이다. 1차 연구와 비교하여 어떤 변화가 있는지 연구하였다. 결과적으로 대학생의 지식 습득 선호도에 따라서 1)미래 시점에서 지식 활용의 다양성을 넓히는 것은 차이가 없고, 2)지식 활용의 효과를 기대하는 것과 3)지식의 지속적인 창출이 용이성에는 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과는 지식을 기억하는 것이 좋은 것인지를 논의할 수 있는 기초를 마련한 점이 중요하다고 할 수 있다.

ICT 융합 진화과정의 동태성 : 실리콘밸리 지식 융합 사례를 중심으로 (Dynamics of the Evolution of ICT Convergence : Knowledge Convergence in Silicon Valley)

  • Convergence is now the trend of knowledge information society. Information technology and knowledge transfer are main sources of convergence. There are many articles which studied outcomes of convergence while there are few articles that try to study the process of convergence. The purpose of this study is to investigate how convergence is dynamically formalized. For the analysis, we used Institutional Analysis and Development(IAD) framework from the point of convergence. IAD framework could synthetically study the origin and the process of convergence. We investigated the case of sillicon valley whether or not dynamics of ICT convergence could be explicable by IAD framework. The results shows that ICT technology and knowledge could be the enabler for the formation of convergence. ICT technology accelerates convergence and knowledge convergence from information converge different technologies and industries. This article provides a theoretical foundation for future research to analyze dynamics of ICT convergence by the IAD framework. For the future work, it is recommended that a study is to be empirically analyzed the dynamics of ICT convergence.

정보기술 인적 역량이 지식 이전에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구: 정보시스템 아웃소싱 상황을 중심으로 (The Effects of IT Human Capability on Knowledge Transfer in Information Systems Outsourcing)

  • The objective of this research is to identify the process of knowledge transfer and to examine the effect of IT human capability on knowledge transfer in information systems outsourcing. Through a field survey, it is found that clients' IT human capability significantly affects on cooperative learning with vendors and knowledge transfer from vendors to clients. The survey also shows that clients' trust with vendors indirectly enhances the knowledge transfer by increasing the cooperative learning. This study provides a solution of knowledge transfer problem in information systems outsourcing. Also it brings out issues that can be accrued in the outsourcing situation, such as clients' dependency on vendors and knowledge asymmetries developed in favor of the vendors. These issues should be topics for future research on information systems outsourcing.

  • Due to the oil business, settlements in the Gulf Region developed into prosperous cities. But in the near future, oil is off. The plans of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states bank on diversified and knowledge-intensive economies. Are those development plans realistic? What is the state of the art of knowledge institutions in the GCC countries? Applying the theoretical frameworks of Knowledge City and Science Indicators research, we empirically and theoretically studied the emerging Gulf cities Kuwait City (Kuwait), Manama (Bahrain), Doha (Qatar), Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah (all UAE), and Muscat (Oman). Our methodological framework includes grounded theory, ethnographic field study, ServQual-like quantitative questionnaires and semi-standardized qualitative interviews conducted on-site with informed people, informetrics, and, finally, the use of official statistics. In particular, we describe and analyze the cities' knowledge infrastructures, their academics, and expenditure on R&D as input indicators; and publications as well as graduates as output indicators. A further crucial aspect of a knowledge society is the transition of graduates into knowledge-intensive public services and private companies.

  • The Purpose of this paper is how KM is implemented and executed to reform the organization in the change management aspect and how its current KM can be developed in the future, mainly based on the organizational system, business process, and information system related to KM. This Paper is longitudinal case study of Knowledge Management at LG-EDS Systems. The effective approach to undertake KM is phase. First, it is structured to share explicit knowledge for better performance and then implicit knowledge for best performance. But, This method had some limitations. So, LG-EDS systems integrated KMS-Knowledge Portal-to facilitate cooperation and improve contents quality.

평가와 보상이 지식경영 참여의지에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (Influence of Appraisal and Reward Satisfaction on Commitment in Knowledge Management)

  • In this study, we tried to find the factors that influenced appraisal and reward satisfaction in knowledge management, and to observe whether appraisal and reward satisfaction were related to employees' commitment to knowledge management. Analyzing valid 38 data in the organizational level, we found that only result validity and reward justness affected employee appraisal and reward satisfaction. Also, if was found that appraisal and reward satisfaction were related to employees' commitment to knowledge management. The implications of the findings and future research directions were discussed.
