  • For robust INS/GPS navigation system, an efficient multi-filter fusion technique is proposed. In the filtering for nonlinear systems, the representative filter - EKF, and the alternative filters - RHKF filter, SPKF, etc. have individual advantages and weak points. The key concept of the multi-filter fusion is the mergence of the strong points of the filters. This paper fuses the IIR type filter - EKF and the FIR type filter - RHKF filter using the adaptive strategy. The result of the fusion has several advantages over the EKF, and the RHKF filter. The advantages include the robustness to the system uncertainty, temporary unknown bias, and so on. The multi-filter fusion technique is applied to the tightly coupled INS/GPS navigation system and the performance is verified by simulation.

  • The laser Powder Bed Fusion (PBF) system is currently recognized as a leading process. Due to the various materials employed such as thermoplastic, metal and ceramic composite powder, the application's use extends to machinery, automobiles, and medical devices. The PBF system's surface quality of prototypes and processing time are significantly affected by several parameters such as laser power, laser beam size, heat temperature and laminate thickness. In order to develop a more elaborate and rapid system, this study developed a new PBF system and sintering process. It contains a 3-axis dynamic focusing scanner system that maintains a uniform laser beam size throughout the system unlike the $f{\theta}$ lens. In this study, experiments were performed to evaluate the effects of various laser scanning parameters and fabricating parameters on the fusion process, in addition to fabricating various 3D objects using a PA-12 starting material.

  • The smart air condition system is superior to conventional air condition system in the aspect of control accuracy, environmental preservation and it is foundation for intelligent vehicle such as electric vehicle, fuel cell vehicle. In this paper, failure analyses of smart air condition system will be performed and then sensor fusion technique will be proposed for fail safety of smart air condition system. A sensor fusion logic of air condition system by using CO sensor, $CO_2$ sensor and VOC, $NO_x$ sensor will be developed and simulated by fault injection simulation. The fusion technology of smart air condition system is generated in an experiment and a performance analysis is conducted with fusion algorithms. The proposed algorithm adds the error characteristic of each sensor as a conditional probability value, and ensures greater accuracy by performing the track fusion with the sensors with the most reliable performance.

  • In this paper, a development of the sensor fusion algorithm for a visual control of mobile robot is presented. The output data from the visual sensor include a time-lag due to the image processing computation. The sampling rate of the visual sensor is considerably low so that it should be used with other sensors to control fast motion. The main purpose of this paper is to develop a method which constitutes a sensor fusion system to give the optimal state estimates.   • 환경오염으로 인한 각종 질병 및 증후군 등의 발생으로 가정용 산업용에서 환경관련 기술들이 다양한 분야로 확대되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 양이온 및 음이온 양쪽이온을 최대한 발생시키며, 오존 발생량은 억제하고 소비전력을 절감하고자 Ag-Pd 전극을 적용한 세라믹스 클러스터를 개발하였다. Ag-Pd 전극과 매칭되는 세라믹스 조성을 개발한 후 적층공정 기술을 이용하여 후막형 클러스터를 제조하였다. 전극 패턴모양, 전극간 방전간격 및 전극 보호층의 두께에 따른 음이온 발생량을 측정하여 최적화를 위한 실험을 진행하였으며, 음이온 발생량 100만개이상, 오존발생량 0.6ppb인 특성을 확인하였다.

Neutronic investigation of waste transmutation option without partitioning and transmutation in a fusion-fission hybrid system

  • A feasibility of reusing option of spent nuclear fuel in a fusion-fission hybrid system without partitioning was checked as an alternative option of pyro-processing with critical reactor system. Neutronic study was performed with MCNP 6.1 for this option, direct reuse of spent PWR fuel (DRUP). Various options with DRUP fuel were compared with the reference design concept; transmutation purpose blanket with (U-TRU)Zr fuel loading connected with pyro-processing. Performance parameters to be compared are transmutation performance of transuranic (TRU) nuclides, required fusion power and tritium breeding ratio (TBR). When blanket part is loaded only with DRUP, initial $k_{eff}$ level becomes too low to maintain a practical subcritical system, increasing the required fusion power. In this case, production rate of TRU nuclides exceeds the incineration rate. Design optimization is done for combining DRUP fuel with (U-TRU)Zr fuel. Reactivity swing is reduced to about 2447 pcm through fissile breeding compared to (U-TRU)Zr fuel option. Therefore, a required fusion power is reduced and tritium breeding performance is improved. However, transmutation performance with TRU nuclides especially $^{241}Am$ is degraded because of softening effect of spectrum. It is known that partitioning and transmutation should be accompanied with fusion-fission hybrid system for the effective transmutation of TRU.

Landmark Detection Based on Sensor Fusion for Mobile Robot Navigation in a Varying Environment

  • We propose a space and time based sensor fusion method and a robust landmark detecting algorithm based on sensor fusion for mobile robot navigation. To fully utilize the information from the sensors, first, this paper proposes a new sensor-fusion technique where the data sets for the previous moments are properly transformed and fused into the current data sets to enable an accurate measurement. Exploration of an unknown environment is an important task for the new generation of mobile robots. The mobile robots may navigate by means of a number of monitoring systems such as the sonar-sensing system or the visual-sensing system. The newly proposed, STSF (Space and Time Sensor Fusion) scheme is applied to landmark recognition for mobile robot navigation in an unstructured environment as well as structured environment, and the experimental results demonstrate the performances of the landmark recognition.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to propose a sensor fusion algorithm that integrates vehicle motion sensor(VMS) into the hybrid navigation system. Methods: How to evaluate the navigation performance was comparison test with the hybrid navigation system and the sensor fusion method. Results: The results of this study are as follows. It was found that the effects of the sensor fusion method and α value estimation were significant. Applying these greatly improves the navigation performance. Conclusion: For improving the reliability of navigation system, the sensor fusion method shows that the proposed method improves the navigation performance in a combat vehicle.

Production and characterization of a monoclonal anti-glutathione-S-transferase(GST) antibody

  • Analysis of protein is often frustrated by the inability to isolate large amounts of purified protein from a native source. To overcome this problem, fusion protein expression systems such as pGEX system have been widely used. Using pGEX system, the desired protein could be easily obtained in a large amount in E. coli, and then the fusion protein could be used for the study of the function of the given protein. To analyze and purify the GST fusion protein, anti-GST antibody could be used as one of the system of choice. However, the production and characterization of monoclonal anti-GST antibody has not been studied extensively yet. To produce monoclonal anti-GST antibody, GST was purified from E. coli transformed with pGEX-cs, one of the pGEX system and was used as an antigen. The monoclonal antibody was produced by fusion of the immunized spleen cells with SP2-0 myeloma cells. The antibody was characterized by ELISA, western blotting, etc. The monoclonal antibody produced in this study (mAb-GSTA) showed strong and specific immunoreactivity against not only GST but also GST-fusion proteins. Also, mAb-GSTA was successfully used for the immunoaffinity purification of the GST ${\beta}$-Rc.-third intracellular-loop fusion protein. The results of the present study suggest that mAb-GSTA may be used for the identification and purification of GST fusion proteins.
