  • Venture debt is a prominent funding tool to promote scale-up of ventures. In the growth stage, venture firms that need large-scale funding can accelerate their growth by leveraging venture debt without diluting their shares, while venture capitals can quickly recollect their investments by accelerating the growth of the ventures they invest. By supplying venture debt, banks can diversify their asset primarily concentrated on loans, and improve the return on assets. As in the case of Silicon Valley Bank, a leading venture lender, closer cooperation between the two agents is essential to supply venture debt. One is the venture capital, an equity capital supplier, and the other is the bank, a debt capital supplier. To this end, we propose "credit risk sharing venture loans" and "venture loan pooling". The former encourages banks' participation in the venture debt market where the manager of Korean Fund of Funds, KVIC and policy guarantee schemes such as KODIT and KIBO screen or partially absorbe the risks inherent in venture loans. The latter reduces the burden of banking on individual venture loans through securitization.

  • Artificial intelligence technology, which is the core of the 4th industrial revolution, is making intelligent judgments through deep learning techniques and machine learning that it is impossible to predict if it is applied to stock prediction beyond human capabilities. In US fund management companies, artificial intelligence is replacing the role of stock market analyst, and research in this field is actively underway. In this study, we use BLSTM to reduce errors that occur in unidirectional prediction of the existing LSTM method, reduce errors in predictions by predicting in both directions, and macroscopic indicators that affect stock prices, namely, economic growth rate, economic indicators, interest rate, analyze the trade balance, exchange rate, and volume of currency. To help stock investment by accurately predicting the target price of stocks by analyzing the PBR, BPS, and ROE of individual stocks after analyzing macro-indicators, and by analyzing the purchase and sale quantities of foreigners, institutions, pension funds, etc., which have the most influence on stock prices.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors that affect professor startups and their performances in Universities in Korea. We included 5 categories of factors: University's size and reputation, University's technology commercialization staff number and startup deregulation, University's resources for research and technology commercialization, University's patents and professors' publication, and student startups. We analyzed 150 Universities, using Korean government's Academyinfo database, and additional data for University ranking and government's projects for University startups. Our analysis shows that Universities' fund amount for research and technology commercialization, Universities' amount of patents give a positive impact on Universities statistically significantly, while Universities' size or reputation does not. In addition, the amount of patents and startup projects funded by the government give a significantly positive impact on the annual sales of the professor startups. Furthermore, student startups are in a positive relationship with professor startups and their sales, showing a synergy effect between the two startup groups in Universities. The result implies that Universities and government need to focus on supporting patenting activities, providing technology commercialization funds, and collaboration activities between professors and students for their startup activities.

  • The central factor in the pecking order theory of financial structure is the asymmetric distribution of information between managers and less-informed outside investors. Myers and Majluf (1984) show that this asymmetry leads managers to prefer internal funds to external funds. Funds are raised through equity issues only after the capacity to issue debt has been exhausted. In contrast, according to static tradeoff theory, an optimum financial structure exists by the tradeoff between tax saving by debt and bankruptcy costs. This study examines the recent changes of Korean firms' financial structure and financing behavior and the determinants of financial structure. The sample of firms comes from the period of $1996{\sim}2004$, and the number of firms is 32,003. The major findings are as follows. First, in contrast with previous studies using US firms as sample, Korean firms have been using debt financing as their major financing instrument. Especially, the firms in the fund deficit situation relies much more on $long{\sim}term$ and $short{\sim}term$ debts rather than on equity issues. Second, as is the case with previous studies using US firms sample indicates, the financing deficit variable can not explain perfectly the net debt issue. However, compared with net equity issue variable, net debt issue variable is more closely related to the financing deficit variable. Third, when financing deficit variable is added to the current list of explanatory variables of financial structure determinants model, it has a significant and positive explanatory power. In addition, the coefficients of determinants are much improved. Thus, it is concluded that although pecking order theory is not perfect, it appears to be more useful compared to static tradeoff theory, at least in explaining the recent financing behavior of Korean manufacturing firms.

  • According to statistics, it is shown that domestic SMEs rely on bank loans for the majority of fund procurement. From financial information shortage (Thin file) that does not provide information necessary for credit evaluation from banks such as financial statements. In order to overcome these problems, recently, in alternative finance such as P2P, using differentiated information such as demographics, trading information and the like utilizing Fintech instead of existing financial information, small funds A new credit evaluation method has been expanding to provide SMEs with small amounts of money. In this paradigm of environmental change, in this research, credit evaluation which can expand fund supply to SMEs by utilizing big data based on trade area information such as sales fluctuation, location conditions etc. In this research, we try to find such a solution. By analyzing empirically the big data generated in the trade area, we verify the effectiveness as a credit evaluation factor and try to derive the main parameters necessary for the business performance evaluation of the founder of SMEs. In this research, for 17,116 material businesses in Seoul City that operate the service industry from 2009 to February 2018, we collect trade area information generated for each business location from Big Data specialized company NICE Zini Data Co., Ltd.. We collected and analyzed the data on the locations and commercial areas of the facilities that were difficult to obtain from SMEs and analyzed the data that affected the Corporate financial Distress. It is possible to refer to the variable of the existing unused big data and to confirm the possibility of utilizing it for efficient financial support for SMEs, This is to ensure that commercial lenders, even in general commercial banks, are made to be more prominent in one sector of the financing of SMEs. In this research, it is not the traditional financial information about raising fund of SMEs who have basically the problem of information asymmetry, but a trade area analysis variable is derived, and this variable is evaluated by credit evaluation There is differentiation of research in that it verified through analysis of big data from Trading-area whether or not there is an effect on.

  • The form of company divides private and coporate companies. In general. private company has direct connection with owner's fortunes. On the contrary, cooperate company is established by a group of people who invest capital funds on their company and has an independent character. In the case of private company, their are many merits that owner can obtain all the benefits without divisions. However, the owner can mix up the control of accounting between public and private matters. As a result confusing, it is difficult to estimate financial situation of company and is limited to fund supply. Futhermore, owner has unlimited liabilities with law credit as a social cognition. Especially, the government tries to induce conversion of private company into cooperation one on the basis of benefits of tax and so on. In those situations, the purpose of this thesis is to study the management benefits with the conversion of private company into cooperate one focucing on the related tax reduction effect. To do this, I have reviewed all of the related textual achievements and tested the real significancy of tax reduction effect of conversion empirically. Finally, I have concluded that the conversion of private company into coporate one has many benefits including significant tax reduction effect. In other side, I have considered and reviewed many difficulties related conversion privated company into cooperate one and suggested some improvements as results. • This research suggests for efficient operation of the e-commerce guarantee financing system in domestic industries by reviewing the definition, current situation and problems of the e-commerce guarantee financing system in operation since 2001. Throughout the 10 years of the e-commerce guarantee financing system's implementation, technological development has solved many previously concerning factors. The goal of the study is to resolve the current issues of the e-commerce guarantee financing system and offer means by which to expand the accessibility of the system to domestic industries and further assistance to firms already using the system. One of the primary policies supported by the research is the reallocation of funds from archaic means of exchanging finances to the modem e-commerce guaranteed financing methods because of the increased transparency of the trading. Specifically, the funding operated by government guarantee agencies requires systematic promotion, justifying subsidies and tax breaks to companies that are using e-commerce guarantee financing because of the increased overall transparency. In addition, the benefits of e-commerce guarantee financing as a means of funding are numerous: the promotion of good business, relaxation of credit ratings for company loans, construction of the mobile operating system for small businesses, and creation of policy flexibility in operating fund agencies run by government. Future research areas include continued collection and analysis of the above data provided and new market feedback such as direct poll surveys of the operating staff in companies using e-commerce guarantee financing agencies.

  • Korean shipping industry is ranked the fifth largest in the world in terms of deadweight tonnage after Greece, Japan, Germany and China with 55 million DWT as of year 2011, and its size of foreign exchange earning marked 30 billion US dollars. In respect of volume of seaborne trade, it has handled 99% of import and export cargoes. Korean shipping fleets have increased from 420 to 979 ships between year 2003 to year 2011. By reviewing through the relating literatures, it has been found that Shipping Funds under Ship Investment Company Act, and Tonnnage Tax System, worked as positive influences to increase the Korean shipping fleets. However, there is scant of research to examine the following two points: 1) weighing the decision making factors of ship investments for Korean shipping companies, and 2) weighing the influential factors of government shipping policies. In this respect, the aim of this study is to evaluate 8 decision making factors of ship investments for Korean shipping companies, and 8 influential factors of government shipping policies. For weighing the factors, the fuzzy methodology was adopted. As the results, for the side of decision making factors of ship investments, 'shipping market conditions and future prospects', 'ship's price and future prospects, and 'securing cargoes and future prospects' are ranked as top 3 factors. For government shipping policies side, 'shipping finance provided by lease companies', 'establishment of Korea Shipping Guarantee Fund', and 'establishment of Korea Shipping Finance Corporation' are verified as the important factors.
