  • There has been an increase in head trauma due to rapid industralization and improvement in transportation. This poses difficulties in differentiating between neuropsychiatric disabilities resulting from real organic changes and those arising from compensation issues. It is the purpose of this study to seek out the differences between normal and abnormal finding group in the structural brain imaging studies via the results of the functional brain imaging studies and psychological tests. Out of 132 subjects, 62 comprised normal and 70 the abnormal finding group. EEG and SPECT were chosen for inspection of functional brain imaging. MMPI and K-WAIS were chosen for psychological test. The subjects were further divided into right hemispheric damage, left hemispheric damage, both hemispheric damage, diffuse damage group and negative group in order to find out whether any differences in the psychological lest results could be localized. The results are as follows : 1) The abnormal finding group, the EEG and SPECT were proven to be a good predictor of brain lesion. This implies that even in the functional brain studies, abnormalities are more easily detected if there are visible brain lesions. 2) The FSIQ of the abnormal finding group is lower than that of normal finding group. this difference is mainly due to low V1Q. The left hemispheric damage group lend to shaw low V1Q. This lowered in was the difference between left hemispheric damage group and negative group. Furthermore, there were no group differences in the PIQ. It is concluded that K-WAIS is effective as evaluator of VIQ mainly of those patients with left hemispheric damage and it is ineffective as a evaluator of PIQ. 3) In the MMPI profile, the both groups displayed high neurotic profiles. There was no difference in the psychotic profiles. The scores of the Depression and Hystery were high in abnormal finding group. This can be seen as one of the lypical findings of chronic head trauma patients. 4) The abnormal finding group tend to be diagnosed as organic mental disorder in the psychological tests more frequently.

  • The performance of an acoustic transducer is determined by the effects of many design variables. and mostly the influences of these design variables are not linearly independent of each other To achieve the optimal performance of an acoustic transducer, we must consider the cross-coupled effects of the design variables. In this study with the FEM. we analyzed the variation of the resonance frequency and sound pressure of a flextensional transducer in relation to Its design variables. Through statistical multiple regression analysis of the results, we derived functional forms of the resonance frequency and sound pressure in terms of the design variables, and with which we determined the optimal structure of the transducer by means of a constrained optimization technique, SQP-PD. The proposed method can reflect all the cross-coupled effects of multiple design variables, and can be utilized to the design of general acoustic transducers.

  • A functional reduction method of Petri nets is proposed. The method is based on interpretation of relations and transitions with functions which map one series of a relation a another. In particular, we propose CF-join which combines two transitions to new one after reduction of the common places, CE-join which superpose two transitions to one after superposition of the common places, and EQ-join which reduces the common places, after the Petri nets were explained be a relational scheme. A reduced net can be obtained without changing the properties such as liveness and boundness.

  • Age-related changes in larynx can have a direct impact on voice quality and general comfort level. Observations of vocal aging have spanned perceptual, acoustic, aerodynamic, physical, electromyographic (EMG) and histological levels. Evidence of differential vocal aging in relation to gender and physical condition has been reported. Perceptual, acoustic, aerodynamic, kinematic, EMG and histological data document age-related changes in laryngeal structure and function with advancing age. These changes contribute to a functional age-related impact of vocal hypofunction or compensatory hyperfunction. This review will focus on the current understanding of the clinical and cellular changes in the larynx that lead to presbyphonia.

  • Many studies in the software reliability have attempted to develop a model for predicting the faults of a software module because the application of good prediction models provides the optimal resource allocation during the development period. In this paper, we consider the change request data collected from the field test of the software module that incorporate a functional relation between the faults and some software metrics. To this end, we discuss the general aspect if regression method, the problem of multicollinearity and the measures of model evaluation. We consider four possible regression models including two stepwise regression models and two nonlinear models. Four developed models are evaluated with respect to the predictive quality.

  • This paper presents a method to segment object ID marks on poor quality images under uncontrolled lighting conditions of FA inspection process. The method is based on multiple templates and normalized gray-level correlation (NGC) method. We propose a multiple template method, called as ATM (Active Template Model) which uses combinational relation of multiple templates from model templates to match and segment several characters of the inspection images. Conventional Snakes algorithm provides a good methodology to model the functional of ATM. To increase the computation speed to segment the ID mark regions, we introduce the Dynamic Programming based algorithm. Experimental results using images from real FA environment are presented.

  • Vertical and horizontal distribution and seasonal changes of fine roots as well as inorganic nitrogen content in soil were determined in Quercus mongolica and Quercus acutissima stands in Mt. Taemosan, Seoul. The vertical distribution of fine rooth phytomass showed a power-functional decrease as descending soil depth. Fine root phytomass was 170 g $DM/m^2$(46%) and 225 g $DM/m^2$(47%) in top soil of 5 cm depth, and 370 g $DM/m^2$ and 480 g $DM/m^2$ from soil surface to 50 cm depth in Q. mongolica and Q. acutissima stands, respectively. Fine roots in relation to the distance from the nearest tree were evenly distributed horizontally in both stands. Fine roots phytomass in top soil of 5 cm depth reached a peak in June, and thereafter decreased gradually in both stands. Patterns of seasonal changes in fine root phytomass were closely related to inorganic nitrogen and moisture content.

  • We propose and simulate a new integrated DAC analog buffer composed of only p-type poly-Si TFTs in AMLCD and AMOLED. Proposed circuit employs a voltage level shifter which $V_{OUT}$ has a linear functional relation to $V_{IN}$. The proposed scheme enables to allow a constant $V_{GS}$ of buffer transistor so that the charging speed of pixel data address is improved.

  • It is necesary that analog buffer circuit should drive an external load in the VLSI design such as switched capacitor efilter (SCF), D/A converter, A/d converter, telecommunicatin circuit, etc. The conventional CMOS buffer circuit have many probvlems according as CMOS technique. Firstly, Capacity of large load ar enot able to opeate well. The problem can be solve to use class AB stages. But large load are operated a difficult, because an element of existing CMOS has a quadratic functional relation with inptu and outut voltage versus output current. Secondly, whole circuit of dynamic rang edecrease, because a range of inpt and output voltages go down according as increasing of intergration rate drop supply voltage. In this paper suggests that new differential CMOS line driver make out of operating an external of large load. In telecommunication's chip case transmission line could be a load. It is necessary that a load operate line driver. The proposal circuit is planned to hav ea high generation power rnage of voltage with preservin linearity. And circuit of capability is inspected through simulation program (HSPICE).
