Study on Comparison of Industrial Static Analysis Tools to Verify the Design Principles for Software Unit Design and Implementation of ISO 26262 (ISO 26262의 소프트웨어 설계원리 적용에 대한 검증 도구의 비교 연구)

  • One of the activities to improve software quality in ISO 26262 is to apply the design principles for software unit design and implementation mentioned in ISO 26262-6, including the evaluation activity. Before evaluation activity, the tool is compared and selected for evaluation. Because the results of the tool a company selected might have an effect on product quality. In this paper, we suggest the method to compare industrial static analysis tools with some of "MISRA C : 2004 Exemplar Suite" and all lessons learned from comparing tools are described. The result on comparison shows that we just couldn't rely on a result of Static Analysis Tool and need to have another appropriate processes and guidelines to evaluate a software.

MTA(Memory TestAble) Code for Testing in Semiconductor Memories (반도체 메모리의 테스트를 위한 MTA(Memory TestAble code)코드)

  • This paper proposes a memory testable code called MTA(Memory TestAble) code which is based on error correcting code technique for testing functional faults in semiconductor memories. The characteristics of this code are analyzed and compared with those of conventional codes. The developed decoding technique for this code can reduce the decoder circuits up to 70% and obtain two-times faster decoding speed than other codes such as hamming code or Hsiao code. The MTA code is eccectively applicable to parallel testing of semiconductor memories because it has the same information length and parity length. It can detect from single error functional faults to triple error in semiconductor memories.

  • Applied Kinesiology (AK) is an evaluation system on the functional balance and integration of the body. Functional aspects of the triad of health are evaluated through muscle testing to see if the balance and integration is in an optimal status or is influenced by a given environmental stimulation. Triad of health refers to the structural, chemical, and psychological aspects of the body. Muscle testing in AK is a functional neurological assessment of muscular response to a given environmental stimulation in a given individual. Meridian system and stomatognathic system as in TMJ balancing medicine serve as one of the theoretical basis of AK. This article reviews core concepts of AK, discusses yin-yang balance medicine perspectives and clinical applications of it.

  • IDDQ testing is one of current testing methodologies which increases circuit's reliability by means of finding defects which can't be detected by functional testing in CMOS circuits. In this paper, we design a Built-In Current Sensor(BICS) circuit, which can be embedded in chip under test, that performs IDDQ testing. Furthermore, it is designed for IDDQ testing of memories and implemented to carry out testing at high-speed by using small number of transistors.

A Study on Proficiency Comparison Testing Between Testers Using ISO/IEC 25023 Software Quality Characteristics Evaluation (ISO/IEC 25023 소프트웨어 품질 특성 평가를 이용한 시험자간 비교시험에 관한 연구)

  • This study compared and analyzed the results of proficiency testing between testers based on the international standard ISO/IEC 17043 proficiency testing requirements using ISO/IEC 25023 software quality characteristics evaluation. Application of the test was submitted to the KASTO as a software test in the electric test field defined by KOLAS. Among ISO/IEC 25023, the evaluation items for proficiency testing between testers were selected as functional completeness and time behavior. The comparison test between testers was carried out on May 28, 2019 at the accredited LG Electronics SW Laboratory in Seoul and attended by KOLAS assessors. The test evaluation method was measured once per tester with functional completeness, and measurement was repeated 10 times per tester according to time behavior. As a result, in the case of functional completeness, all 12 test steps were passed, and the satisfaction was evaluated. Time behavior was repeated 10 times, and the mean was 9.45 ± 0.01 seconds for testers 1 and 3 and 9.52 ± 0.0 seconds for tester 2, but there was no statistically significant difference. In conclusion, the proficiency of the testers was equal, and the reliability of the test results of the test institute was confirmed.

  • We investigated that effects of annealing ambient on the characteristics of functional nano thin film synthesized on glass substrate. The functional nano thin films were annealed by using rapid thermal annealing (RTA) equipment in vacuum, oxygen and nitrogen ambient, respectively. The hardness of the functional nano thin films were measured by a standard hardness testing method (ASTM D3363) such as a H-9H, F, HB and B-6B pencil (Mitsubishi, Japan). Also, the adhesion of the functional nano thin films were measured by a standard adhesion testing method (ASTM D3359) using scotch tape (3M, Korea). The contact angle of the functional nano thin films was measured by a contact angle analyzer (Phoenix 300 Touch, S.E.O.). The optical property of functional nano thin films was measured via UV-visible spectroscopy (S-3100, Scinco).

  • The objective of this study is to provide mobile application developers with a standard testing system and service method. By using this testing service, the developers can test the functional performance and quality of their applications from remote sites through Internet. This service standard helps to test applications quickly, easily, and cheaply through the intuitional scenario graphical environment, and becomes a base for constructing a testing system which can be shared by developers, users, and the third parties.

  • Ceramics with perovskite-type structure are interesting functional materials for several energy conversion processes due to their flexible structure and a variety of properties. Prominent examples are electrode materials in fuel cells and batteries, thermoelectric converters, piezoelectrics, and photocatalysts. The very attractive physical-chemical properties of perovskite-type phases can be modified in a controlled way by changing the composition and crystallographic structure in tailor-made soft chemistry synthesis processes. Improved thermoelectric materials such as cobaltates with p-type conductivity and n-type manganates are developed by following theoretical predictions and tested to be applied in oxidic thermoelectric converters.

A study on the fault analysis of CMOS logic circuit using IDDQ testing technique (IDDQ 테스트 방식을 이용한 CMOS 논리회로의 고장분석에 관한 연구)

  • This paper analyzes the faults and their mechanism of CMOS ICs using IDDQ testing technique and evalutes the reliability of the chips that fail this test. It is implemented by the three testing phases, initial test, burn-in and life test. Each testing phase includes the parametric test, functional test, IDDQ test and propagation delay test. It is shown that the short faults such as gate-oxide short, bridging can be only detected by IDDQ testing technique and the number of test patterns for this test technique is very few. After first burn-in, the IDDQ of some test chips is decreased, which is increased in conventional studies and in subsequent burn-in, the IDDQ of all test chips is stabilized. It is verified that the resistive short faults exist in the test chips and it is deteriorated with time and causes the logic fault. Also, the new testing technique which can easily detect the rsistive short fault is proposed.

  • This paper investigates the issue of performance testing on web browsing environments. Among the typical non-functional characteristics, index of link validity will be deeply explored. A framework to certify link correctness in web site is proposed. All possible navigation paths are first formulated to represent a usage model with the Markov chain property, which is then used to generate test script file statistically. With collecting any existing failure information followed by tracing these testing browsed paths, certification analysis may be performed by applying Markov chain theory. The certification result will yield some significant information such as: test coverage, reliability measure, confidence interval, etc. The proposed mechanism may provide not only completed but also systemic methodologies to find any linking errors and other web technologies errors. Besides, an actual practice of the proposed approach to a web-based system will be demonstrated quantitatively through a certification tool.
