KSL 학습자의 학업 문식성 신장을 위한 교과 언어 교육 내용 연구 -역사 교과 텍스트를 중심으로- (A Study on the Language of Content Area for Improving Academic Literacy of KSL Learners: Focusing on History Texts)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the linguistic elements that can promote academic literacy in terms of content-based instructions for KSL learners. In order to study the characteristics of learning languages for subjects, focus was given to the framework of systematic functional linguistics that has been extensively used in ELL teaching and learning research in the United States and Australia. History, which is taught in all classes and classified as a required course, was the subject of analysis. From the history curriculum, the elementary school level texts "Social Studies 5-2" and "Social Studies 6-1" were chosen for the analysis. Based on the results, we can come to the following conclusions. First, history textbooks are divided into narrative and analytical explanatory sub-genres based on their content, and there are differences in the factors that need to be focused on to find the main information. Second, the vocabulary of history textbooks should focus on the use of verbs which comprehend material processes. Particularly, learners should pay attention to the differences in meaning between low-frequency expressions. We hope that the results of this study will have a positive effect on history subject learning for learners in the "Adaptive Korean Course" and will help establish direction in terms of building curriculum contents for KSL learners.

A Study on Food Repurchase Intention Using Nostalgia Marketing

  • This study aims to investigate the effect of the selection attribute of Newtro (New + Retro) product marketing, which is a recent topic in the food industry, on consumer satisfaction. Newtro marketing, also known as Newtro-style marketing, is a marketing strategy that emerged in South Korea, particularly in the food industry. Newtro marketing aims to appeal to consumers' nostalgia for the past while incorporating contemporary elements. As a research method, a survey was conducted on the importance of selection attributes and repurchase intention of Newtro food for consumer groups of various age groups ranging from teenagers to those in their 40s or older. To analyze the demographic content of the sample, frequency analysis of the SPSS statistical package was performed, and structural equation modeling was performed using the AMOS program for confirmatory factor analysis and discriminant validity analysis. The analysis results are as follows. First, Package Design, Perceived Healthiness, and Emotional Taste, optional attributes of Newtro marketing, significantly affected satisfaction. Second, satisfaction was found to have a statistically significant effect on repurchase intention. However, Functional Flavor did not statistically affect satisfaction. This study empirically analyzed the importance of consumers' selection attributes for the recently popular food Newtro marketing and suggested implications.

Recent progress in using Drosophila as a platform for human genetic disease research

  • As advanced sequencing technologies continue to uncover an increasing number of variants in genes associated with human genetic diseases, there is a growing demand for systematic approaches to assess the impact of these variants on human development, health, and disease. While in silico analyses have provided valuable insights, it is essential to complement these findings with model organism studies to determine the functional consequences of genetic variants in vivo. Drosophila melanogaster is an excellent genetic model for such functional studies due to its efficient genetic technologies, high gene conservation with humans, accessibility to mutant fly resources, short life cycles, and cost-effectiveness. The traditional GAL4-UAS system, allowing precise control of gene expression through binary regulation, is frequently employed to assess the effects of monoallelic variants. Recombinase medicated cassette exchange or CRISPR-Cas9-mediated GAL4 insertion within coding introns or substitution of gene body with Kozak-Gal4 result in the loss-of-function of the target gene. This GAL4 insertion strategy also enables the expression of reference complementary DNA (cDNA) or cDNA carrying genetic variants under the control of endogenous regulatory cis elements. Furthermore, the CRISPR-Cas9-directed tissue-specific knockout and cDNA rescue system provides the flexibility to investigate candidate variants in a tissue-specific and/or developmental-timing dependent manner. In this review, we will delve into the diverse genetic techniques available in Drosophila and their applications in diagnosing and studying numerous undiagnosed diseases over the past decade.

Roles of RUNX1 and PU.1 in CCR3 Transcription

  • CCR3 is a chemokine receptor that mediates the accumulation of allergic inflammatory cells, including eosinophils and Th2 cells, at inflamed sites. The regulatory sequence of the CCR3 gene, contains two Runt-related transcription factor (RUNX) 1 sites and two PU.1 sites, in addition to a functional GATA site for transactivation of the CCR3 gene. In the present study, we examined the effects of the cis-acting elements of RUNX1 and PU.1 on transcription of the gene in EoL-1 eosinophilic cells and Jurkat T cells, both of which expressed functional surface CCR3 and these two transcription factors. Introduction of RUNX1 siRNA or PU.1 siRNA resulted in a modest decrease in CCR3 reporter activity in both cell types, compared with transfection of GATA-1 siRNA. Cotransfection of the two siRNAs led to inhibition in an additive manner. EMSA analysis showed that RUNX1, in particular, bound to its binding motifs. Mutagenesis analysis revealed that all point mutants lacking RUNX1- and PU.1-binding sites exhibited reduced reporter activities. These results suggest that RUNX1 and PU.1 participate in transcriptional regulation of the CCR3 gene.

  • Modern fashion manifests in forms that mirror the diverse lifestyles and personalities of consumers. It transcends mere aesthetic designs and embodyies practicality. There is a preference for comfortable, highly functional attire, leaning towards easy wear. Casual wear, in particular, embraces a sense of freedom not found in standard business attire. It seeks a comfortable, natural silhouette through tactile fabrics rather than sportswear. Loose, drop shoulder sleeves enhance comfort and mobility and often become key elements in casual wear designs. Given that clothing must balance aesthetics with functionality, especially across various activities, it is natural to prioritize functional design. Research on patterns suited for dynamic conditions is imperative. The rise of drop shoulder styles necessitates the development of corresponding sleeve patterns. It is crucial to differentiate pattern drafting methods due to the resulting silhouette variations. This study aims to categorize drop shoulder pattern drafting techniques based on shoulder extension and angle dimensions. Each method will be examined, and drop shoulder sleeve patterns and wear forms will be studied using a 3D virtual system. This research holds significance in providing valuable insights and foundational data for designing diverse drop shoulder sleeve patterns, contributing to their practical development and advancement.

유아용 스마트폰 애플리케이션 평가 및 리뷰점수에 따른 차이분석 (Evaluation of Smart-phone Applications for Young Children and Analysis of Differences according to Review Scores)

  • 본 연구는 2020년 4월 현재 우리나라의 안드로이드 기반 스마트폰에 탑재된 유아용 애플리케이션을 리뷰점수에 따라 상·하위 집단으로 나누어 각각 30개씩의 애플리케이션을 선정하고, 내용 분석 및 애플리케이션 평가를 실시하여 집단 간 차이가 있는지 살펴보는 것이었다. 이를 통해 유아용 스마트폰 애플리케이션에 대한 객관적 정보를 제공함으로써 부모와 유아교육전문가가 질적으로 우수한 유아용 애플리케이션을 선택할 수 있도록 돕고, 애플리케이션 개발자에게는 발달에 적합한 유아용 애플리케이션 개발을 위한 아이디어와 방향성을 제시하고자 하였다. 애플리케이션의 내용분석 결과, 애플리케이션 유형은 상·하위 집단 모두에서 자료제시형, 시뮬레이션형 및 게임형만 나타났고, 주제가 속한 누리과정 영역은 상·하위 집단에서 5개 누리과정영역이 모두 나타났으나 그 순서에서는 차이를 보였다. 앱 구매비용의 경우, 리뷰점수 상위 집단은 저가부터 100,000원 이상의 고가까지 분포되어 있는 반면, 하위집단에서는 상대적으로 고가의 애플리케이션이 적었다. 한편 애플리케이션 평가 결과, 리뷰점수 상·하위 집단 간에는 기능요소 전체와 내용요소 전체를 비롯하여 평가 점수 전체에 대해 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 세부 하위요인의 경우 기능요소의 '기술성'을 제외한 모든 요인에서 유의미한 차이를 보였다.

한지사 영·유아복 개선 방안 모색을 위한 연구 - 한지와 한지사 영·유아복 이미지 조사를 중심으로 - (Methods to improve infant clothing made with Hanji yarn - Investigating the image of Hanji and Hanji yarn infant clothing -)

  • With environmental pollution becoming a serious problem, recently there has been increased interest in the environment and health. In addition, the development of materials for environmentally friendly and functional clothing has increased. Environmentally friendly products that use bark fibers of the mulberry(dak) tree are expressed in terms of dak fiber and Hanji yarn. This research analyzed consumer's perceived images of Hanji and Hanji yarn infant clothing. The research results are as follows. Based on analyzing images of Hanji and Hanji yarn, Hanji was categorized into four images that can be described as natural, pure, decorative, and functional, and Hanji yarn infant clothing was categorized into three images that can be described as natural, decorative, and functional. Based on the analysis of well-being elements in subjects' lifestyles, the following four inclinations were found: environmental friendliness, pursuit of novelty, life care, and environmental protection. On this basis, the subjects were categorized into three groups: the trend-pursuing group, the life-care group, and the social responsibility group. Subjects' perceived images of Hanji and Hanji yarn infant clothing were investigated, and these products were found to have a strong image of being Korean, traditional, and natural, while being weakly perceived as comfortable, functional, and practical. Analyzing the correlation between images of Hanji and Hanji yarn infant clothing and lifestyle groups revealed that these products were not perceived differently according to group. This study showed that Hanji and Hanji yarn are terms that are commonly associated with positive clothing material. However, both Hanji and Hanji yarn are perceived negatively in terms of functional image, which is an important factor in clothing material. In addition, even among consumers who pursue a lifestyle based on well-being, the functional image of Hanji yarn was not perceived highly. Hence, it is necessary to further examine the effect of terms such as Hanji and Hanji yarn on consumer choices. Therefore, caution is considered needed when using such terms in the marketing of related products.

군 탐색구조 시스템 M&S 소프트웨어 개발 현황 (Development Status of Military Search and Rescue System M&S Software)

  • 한국전자통신연구원에서는 2010년 하반기부터 방위사업청과 국방과학연구소에서 주관하는 국방위성항법 특화연구센터 사업에 참가하여 군 탐색구조 시스템 기술연구 과제를 수행 중에 있다. 1차년도에 기존 군 탐색구조 개념과 민간 탐색구조 시스템에 대하여 분석한 결과를 토대로 M&S(Modeling and Simulation)를 수행하여, 군 탐색구조 시스템 구성시 탐색구조의 정확성, 신뢰성, 가용성을 향상시킬 수 있는 방안을 분석할 수 있는 툴을 목표로 개발하였다. 이를 위하여 군 탐색구조 시스템을 크게 사용자, 통신링크, 지상국, 운용환경 분야로 나누어 모델링 하였으며, 실제와 유사한 성능분석을 위하여 GIS 고도정보를 이용하여 사용자와 지상국 안테나 간의 Path Profile을 분석한 후 신호감쇄량을 결정한다. 여기서 사용자의 단말기 송출신호를 송수신하는 링크는 크게 지상망과 위성망으로 나누어 모델링하여 시뮬레이션하고, 근래에 북한의 재밍 사태에 따라 이슈가 되고 있는 재밍 항목을 추가하였다. 본 논문에서는 군 탐색구조 시스템 M&S 소프트웨어를 소개하고, 소프트웨어 설계와 기능 및 성능분석 결과를 나타낸다.

  • 스마트 디바이스와 인터랙티브 미디어의 발달은 애니메이션의 변화를 요구하고 있으며, 완성된 콘텐츠로서의 인터랙티브 애니메이션이 조금씩 시도되고 있다. 그러나 가지치기 서사로 대표되는 인터랙티브 스토리텔링은 선형적인 애니메이션의 스토리만큼 관객을 만족시키지 못하며, 선택지의 사용은 몰입감 마저 떨어뜨리고 있다. 본 연구에서는 먼저 완성된 콘텐츠로서의 인터랙티브 애니메이션이 갖춰야할 조건을 제시한다. 그 중 '스토리텔링의 역할 수행'과 '관객의 참여 행위에 의한 스토리 완성'이라는 두 가지를 만족시킬 방법을 제안하기 위해, 기존에 만들어진 인터랙티브 애니메이션 중 성공적인 사례로 볼 수 있는 <어트랙션>을 그레마스의 기호학의 틀로 분석한다. 그레마스의 서사 분석과 행동자 개념을 이용한 시퀀스의 분석으로 참여행위가 적절하게 일어나는 서사의 기능과 관객의 위상을 상호작용 요소로 제안한다.

디자인요소와 감성언어 추출을 통한 디지털 카메라의 선호도와 구매도에 영향을 미치는 요소에 관한 연구 (Extraction of design elements and sensibility factors influencing on preference and purchase for digital cameras)

  • 본 연구에서는 특정 목적을 가진 디지털 카메라 제품들의 특성들을 파악하여 디자인 개발시 소비자 니즈를 분석하고 제품을 이해하는 기초 자료의 확보이며, 디자이너가 제품을 보다 쉽게 이해하고 디자인 개발 시 컨셉 설정에 도움이 되고자함이다. 본 연구를 위하여 2000년부터 현재까지 출시된 제품을 수집하여 동질성 분석을 실시하여 대표제품을 선정하여 제품에서 느껴지는 형용사와 선호도를 설문을 통해 추출하였다. 설문을 토대로 종속변수와 선호도에 대한 회기분석과 종속변수와 구매도에 대한 회기 분석을 통해 어떠한 요소들이 소비자가 선호하는 이미지인지를 기초 설문과 실험 대상 이미지 분석을 실시하였다. 실험 결과 디지털 카메라를 디자인 할 때에는 편리한, 감각적인, 기능적인, 품위 있는 의 요소를 고려하여야 한다. 또한 전체적인 형태에서는 그립을 강조한 형태와 그립이 있고 액정이 크고 칼라는 어둡고 매뉴얼 버튼이 있는 디지털 카메라를 선호하는 것으로 분석되었다.
