2차 형식 Lyapunov 함수에 기초한 강인한 안정조건 (Robust Stable Conditions Based on the Quadratic Form Lyapunov Function)

  • Robust stable analysis with the system bounded parameteric variation is very important among the various control theory. This study is to investigate the robust stable conditions using the quadratic form Lyapunov function in which the coefficient matrix is affined linear system. The quadratic stability using the quadratic form Lyapunov function is not investigated yet. The Lyapunov unction is robust stable not to be dependent by the variable parameters, which means that the Lyapunov function is conservative. We suggest the robust stable conditions in the Lyapunov function in which the variable parameters are dependent in order to reduce the conservativeness of quadratic stability.

  • We have established three immortal bovine muscular epithelial (BME) cell lines, one spontaneously immortalized (BMES), the second SV40LT-mediated (BMEV) and the third hTERT-mediated (BMET). The morphology of the three immortal cell lines was similar to that of early passage primary BME cells. Each of the immortal cell lines made cytokeratin, a typical epithelial marker. BMET grew faster than the other immortal lines and the BME cells, in 10% FBS-DMEM medium, whereas neither the primary cells nor the three immortal cell lines grew in 0.5% FBS-DMEM. The primary BME cells and the immortal cell lines, with the exception of BMES, made increasing amounts of p53 protein when treated with doxorubicin, a DNA damaging agent. On the other hand, almost half of the cells in populations of the three immortal cell lines may lack $p16^{INK4a}$ regulatory function, compared to primary BME cells that were growth arrested by enforced expression of $p16^{INK4a}$. In soft-agar assays, the primary cells and immortal cell lines proved to be less transformed in phenotype than HeLa cells. The three immortal epithelial-type cell lines reported here are the first cell lines established from muscle tissue of bovine or other species.

Left Atrial Velocity Vector Imaging Can Assess Early Diastolic Dysfunction in Left Ventricular Hypertrophy and Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy

  • BACKGROUND: The function of left atrium (LA) is difficult to assess because of its ventricle-dependent, dynamic movement. The aim of this study was to assess LA function using velocity vector imaging (VVI) and compare LA function in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCMP) and left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) with normal controls. METHODS: Fourteen patients with HCMP (72% male, mean age of 52.6 ± 9.8), 15 hypertensive patients with LVH (88% male, mean age of 54.0 ± 15.3), and 10 age-matched controls (83% male, mean age of 50.0 ± 4.6) were prospectively studied. Echocardiographic images of the LA were analyzed with VVI, and strain rate (SR) was compared among the 3 groups. RESULTS: The e' velocity (7.7 ± 1.1; 5.1 ± 0.8; 4.5 ± 1.3 cm/sec, p = 0.013), E/e' (6.8 ± 1.6; 12.4 ± 3.3; 14.7 ± 4.2, p = 0.035), and late diastolic SR at mid LA (-1.65 ± 0.51; -0.97 ± 0.55; -0.82 ± 0.32, p = 0.002) were significantly different among the groups (normal; LVH; HCMP, respectively). The e' velocity, E/e', and late diastolic SR at mid LA were significantly different between normal and LVH (p = 0.001; 0.022; 0.018), whereas LA size was similar between normal and LVH (p = 0.592). The mean late diastolic peak SR of mid LA was significantly correlated with indices of diastolic function (E/e', e', and LA size). CONCLUSIONS: The SR is a useful tool for detailed evaluation of LA function, especially early dysfunction of LA in groups with normal LA size.

  • 진세노사이드 Rd가 지방세포분화에 미치는 영향을 관찰한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 진세노사이드 Rd는 3T-L1지방세포모델에 있어 효과적으로 지방분화를 억제한다. 2. 진세노사이드 Rd는 세포내 에너지대사의 필수 단백질인 AMPK를 활성화시키고 또한 지방분화과정에 발현 및 활성이 증가하는 PPAR 감마의 활성을 효과적으로 억제한다. 이상의 결과로 진세노사이드 Rd는 세포내 에너지대사를 촉진하여 지방축적 억제에 탁월한 효과를 보일 것으로 사료된다.

  • Let {X$\_$n/, n$\geq$1] be a stationary sequence of negatively associated random variables with distribution function F(x)=P(X$_1$$\leq$x). The empirical distribution function F$\_$n/(x) based on X$_1$, X$_2$,....., X$\_$n/ is proposed as an estimator for F$\_$n/(x). Strong consistency and asymptotic normality of F$\_$n/(x) are studied. We also apply these ideas to estimation of the survival function.

노인의 건강관련체력과 인지기능 및 고립감의 관계 (Relationship between Health-Related Physical Fitness, Cognitive Function and Isolation in the Elderly)

  • 본 연구는 서울 경기 소재 65세 이상 노인 308명을 대상으로 건강관련체력요인과 인지기능 및 고립감의 관계를 분석하였다. 측정도구는 사회인구학적특성(연령, 학력, 음주유무, 배우자유무, 운동참여유무)과 건강관련체력(상지근력, 하지근력, 유연성, 평형성), 인지기능(한국판 간이정신상태검사, 숫자외우기검사) 그리고 고립감(사회적 정서적 고립척도)로 측정하였다. 연구결과는 첫째, 노인의 사회인구학적특성에 따라 건강관련체력, 인지기능, 고립감에는 통계적 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 둘째, 노인의 건강관련체력, 인지기능에는 정적상관관계, 건강관련체력, 인지기능과 고립감에는 부적상관관계가 통계적으로 유의하게 나타났다. 셋째, 노인의 건강관련체력은 인지기능에 통계적 유의한 영향력을 나타내었다. 넷째, 노인의 건강관련체력은 고립감에 통계적으로 유의한 영향력을 나타내었다. 다섯째, 노인의 인지기능은 고립감에 통계적으로 유의한 영향력을 나타내었다. 결론적으로 본 연구는 미래 노인복지 연구를 위한 기초자료를 제공하여 확장 된 연구에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.

Cardiopulmonary function and scoliosis severity in idiopathic scoliosis children

  • Purpose: Idiopathic scoliosis is a structural lateral curvature of the spine of unknown etiology. The relationship between degree of spine curvature and cardiopulmonary function has not yet been investigated. The purpose of this study was to determine the association between scoliosis and cardiopulmonary characteristics. Methods: Ninety children who underwent preoperative pulmonary or cardiac evaluation at a single spine institution over 41 months were included. They were divided into the thoracic-dominant scoliosis (group A, n=78) and lumbar-dominant scoliosis (group B, n=12) groups. Scoliosis severity was evaluated using the Cobb method. In each group, relationships between Cobb angles and cardiopulmonary markers such as forced vital capacity (FVC), forced expiratory volume in one second ($FEV_1$), $FEV_1$/FVC, left ventricular ejection fraction, pulmonary artery flow velocity, and tissue Doppler velocities (E/E', E'/A') were analyzed by correlation analysis linear regression. Results: In group A, 72 patients (92.3%) underwent pulmonary function tests (PFTs), and 41 (52.6%) underwent echocardiography. In group B, 9 patients (75.0%) underwent PFT and 8 (66.7%) underwent echocardiography. Cobb angles showed a significant negative correlation with FVC and $FEV_1$ in group A (both P<0.05), but no such correlation in group B, and a significant negative correlation with mitral E/A ratio (P<0.05) and tissue Doppler E'/A' (P<0.05) in group A, with a positive correlation with mitral E/A ratio (P<0.05) in group B. Conclusion: Pulmonary and cardiac function was significantly correlated with the degree of scoliosis in patients with thoracic-dominant scoliosis. Myocardial diastolic function might be impaired in patients with the most severe scoliosis.

노인의 운동참여, 근육량, 근력 및 인지기능과의 관련성 (Relationship between Exercising Activity, Muscle Mass, Muscular Strength and Cognitive Function in the Elderly)

  • 본 연구는 서울 경기에 거주하며 운동에 참여하는 65세 이상 274명을 대상으로 노인의 운동참여, 근육량, 근력과 인지기능의 정량적 지표를 토대로 이들 간의 관계성을 규명하고자 하였다. 자료수집은 연구대상자의 운동참여(참여 빈도, 참여 시간), 근육량, 근력(상지근력, 하지근력), 인지기능(한국판 간이정신상태검사, 숫자 바로 읽기, 숫자 거꾸로 읽기)을 측정하여 자료를 수집하였다. 일련의 타당성 있는 연구절차를 통하여 도출된 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 노인의 운동참여, 근육량, 근력, 인지기능 간에는 통계적 유의한 상관관계가 나타났다. 둘째, 노인의 운동참여는 근육량, 근력, 인지기능에 정적(+) 영향력을 나타내었다. 셋째, 노인의 근육량은 근력, 인지기능에 통계적 유의한 정적(+) 영향력을 나타내었다. 넷째, 노인의 근력은 인지기능에 정적(+) 영향력을 나타내었다.
