접힌 板材 로 만든 그루우브 를 갖는 熱파이프 에 관한 硏究 (Performance of a Heat pipe with Axial Grooves Formed from Corrugated Plate)

  • 본 논문에서는, 긴 단열부를 갖는 열파이프에 있어서, 단열부에 유동저항이 매우 작은 접힌판재의 그루우브 wick를 넣은 구조에 대한 이론적, 실험적 연구를 다 루었다. 본 논문의 목적은, 위에서 설명한 열파이프의 근본적인 상반기능을 해결해 줄 수 있는 하나의 열파이프 구조를 제공할 뿐만 아니라, 더 나아가 접힌 판재의 그루 우브라는 새로운 형태의 wick의 가능성을 암시하는 데 있는 것이다.

  • For development of an on-line monitoring unit of fermentation process, an auto dilution unit based on traditional chemical and biological analytical method was developed and the performance was evaluated. The dilution unit was constructed with two syringe pumps and flow direction change valves and fully automated. Total delivery volume of two pumps using distilled water was measured to confirm the operating stability And diluted concentrations of three substrate solutions (glucose, lactic acid, ethanol) were compared with a standard method with a high performance liquid chromatograph (glucose, lactic acid) and gas chromatograph (ethanol). Relative error values of total delivery volume of the pumps were below 3% and standard deviation values were 0.003 (n=5). Relative error values of diluted concentration of the dilution unit measurements were below 2% with 1/10 of dilution ratio and 70, $80{\mu}{\ell}$ of sample volume conditions for glucose and lactic acid, 1/30 of dilution ratio and $70{\mu}{\ell}$ of sample volume conditions for ethanol, respectively. In case of the ethanol, cause of the evaporative characteristics, the relative error values showed over 5% whole experimental conditions.

나선형 핀이 내부에 부착된 관의 형상최적화 (Shape Optimization of Internally Finned Tube with Helix Angle)

  • The Optimal solutions of the design variables in internally finned tubes have been obtained for three-dimensional periodically fully developed turbulent flow and heat transfer. For a trapezoidal fin profile, performances of the heat exchanger are determined by considering the heat transfer rate and pressure drop, simultaneously, that are interdependent quantities. Therefore, Pareto frontier sets of a heat exchanger can be acquired by integrating CFD and a multi-objective optimization technique. The optimal values of fin widths $(d_1,\;d_2)$, fin height(h) and helix angle$(\gamma)$ are numerical1y obtained by minimizing the pressure loss and maximizing the heat transfer rate within ranges of $d_1=0.5\sim1.5mm$, $d_2=0.5\sim1.5mm$, $h=0.5\sim1.5mm$, and $\gamma=0\sim20^{\circ}$. For this, a general CFD code and a global genetic algorithm(GA) are used. The Pareto sets of the optimal solutions can be acquired after $30^{th}$ generation.

  • 하천 만곡부에서의 하상 횡경사 결정은 유수와 유수의 소류력에 의해 변동하는 하상면과의 상호관계를 규명하는 이론적인 접근에서 출발하게 된다. 이러한 경우 흐름은 완전히 발달한 흐름으로 해석하게 되며 하상에서는 소류사가 일어나고 있는 상태에서 유수력과 하상물질에 의한 저항력간의 평형을 바탕으로 해석을 시도하게 된다. 한계소류력을 대표하는 연구로서 Shields diagram이 많이 이용되고 시동조건으로 Shields parameter를 0.06으로 대표해 주고 있다. 지금까지 만곡부의 하상횡경사 결정에서는 대부분의 방법들이 Shields parameter 의 적용에서 0.06을 일률적으로 채택하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 Shields parameter에서의 실험조건인 균일입경하상이라는 조건이 적용되지 않는 일반 자연하천에서 혼합입경하상의 입도분포곡선 형태에 따라 생기는 Shields parameter의 변동을 고려할 수 있도록 하므로써 보다 정확한 만곡부 하상횡경사 추정이 가능한 방법을 제시하였다.

환상 파이프 내에서의 의소성 유체를 이용한 열전달 향상에 관한 연구 (Investigation of Heat Transfer Augmentation with Pseudoplastic Fluids in Annular Pipes)

  • Computational results with pseudoplastic fluid flows for fully developed non-Newtonian laminar flows have been obtained. Those consist of the product of friction factor and Modified Reynolds number and Nusselt numbers with respect to the shear rate parameter in an annular pipe. The numerical results of the product of friction factor and Reynolds numbers and the Nusselt numbers for both Newtonian region and the power law region were compared with previously published asymptotic results, respectively. In the present calculations, the product of friction factor and Newtonian Reynolds numbers for pseudoplastic fluid at power law region in annular pipe is 180% less than that for Newtonian fluid. For power law fluids with different power law flow indices, the difference of the product of friction factor and power law Reynolds number between previous and the present results at the power law region is within 0.20%. The solutions also show the effect of the shear rate parameter on the Nusselt number and about 11% increase of Nusselt number at the power region.

  • A numerical investigation of single phase heat and flow characteristics in circular tubes with a single set of spiral micro fins was performed with varying geometrical parameters like fin height, spiral angle, and number of fins. The properties of $40^{\circ}C$ water was used as a working fluid to simulate a condenser and the RNG $k-{\epsilon}$ turbulence model was adopted. Calculation results were obtained in fully developed turbulent flow with constant surface heat flux boundary condition. Relative terms were introduced to investigate the substitution effect of conventional smooth tubes. The dimensionless terms were the heat transfer enhancement factor, the pressure drop penalty factor, and the efficiency index. Additionally, a numerical optimization was carried out to maximize thermal performance with the concept of the robust design. A statistical analysis showed that fin height interacts with number of fins and spiral angle.

Starship 시스템 개발 특징 (Characteristics of Starship System Development)

  • SpaceX사는 Falcon 9으로 발사체 비용을 혁신적으로 낮추었으며 로켓의 1단 재사용을 실용화하였다. 현재는 완전 재사용이 가능하고 탑재량이 가장 큰 Starship 시스템을 개발 중이며 이로 인해 더욱 저렴한 비용의 발사와 임무의 다양화가 가능하다. 이를 위해 최초로 메탄 연료를 사용하는 전유동 다단 연소 싸이클을 사용하는 Raptor 엔진을 완성하였다. 그리고 완전 재사용을 위해 스테인리스강 탱크, 하강 중 배면낙하 및 역추진과 같은 거의 사용되지 않는 기술들을 함께 적용하여 다수의 시제기를 제작 및 시험하고 있다. 여기서는 Starship 시스템의 제원, 임무, 설계 특징에 대해 알아보았다. 또한 Raptor 엔진과 매우 빠르게 제작된 초기 13 기의 Starship 시제기 개발 과정에 대해서도 알아보았다.

파형벽면이 있는 채널 내의 난류유동에 대한 수치해석 (Numerical Simulation of Turbulent Flow in n Wavy-Walled Channel)

  • Turbulent flow over a fully-developed wavy channel is investigated by the nonlinear $k-\varepsilon-f_\mu$ model of Park et al.(1) The Reynolds number is fixed at $Re_{b}$ = 6760 through all wave amplitudes and the wave configuration is varied in the range of $0\leq\alpha/\lambda\leq0.15$ and $0.25\leq{\lambda}/H\leq4.0$. The predicted results for wavy channel are validated by comparing with the DNS data of Maa$\beta$ and Schumann(2) The model performance Is shown to be generally satisfactory. As the wave amplitude increases, it is found that the form drag grows linearly and the friction drag is overwhelmed by the form drag. In order to verify these characteristics, a large eddy simulation is performed for four cases. The dynamic model of Germane et al.(3) is adopted. Finally, the effects of wavy amplitude on separated shear layer are scrutinized.

수치해석을 통한 자동차 사이드 미러 주위의 공력 및 소음해석 (Numerical Analysis of Aerodynamics and Acoustics around a Car Side mirror)

  • Aerodynamic noise is becoming the major source of annoyance for modern cars recently and is caused by many different noise sources in a car. Appropriate CFD technologies, therefore, have been developed to resolve the noise problems related with aerodynamics. It is necessary for designers to fully understand the relationship between vehicle aerodynamics and wind noise acoustics. In this study, we simulate the flow fields around two different shapes of side mirror models of passenger car and analyze the noise phenomena around one side mirror model that has lower drag than the other model using Fluent 6.3.

표면 거칠기 효과를 고려한 2-방정식 난류 모델의 성능평가 (Evaluation of Two-Equation Turbulence Models with Surface Roughness Effect)

  • The effect of roughness is a change in the velocity and turbulence distributions near the surface. Turbulence models with surface roughness effect are applied to the fully developed flow in a two-dimensional, rough wall channel. Modified wall function model, low-Reynolds number k-$\varepsilon$ model, and k-$\omega$ model are selected for comparison. In order to make a fair comparison, the calculation results are compared with the experimental data. The modified wall function model and the low-Reynolds number k-$\varepsilon$ model require further refinement, while the k-$\omega$ model of Wilcox performs remarkably well over a wide range of roughness values.
