유한요소 부영역 결합법을 이용한 열기계학적 접촉 해석 (Thermomechanical Contact Analysis by Subdomain/Interface Finite Element Method)

  • 접촉 현상을 포함하는 완전 연계된 열기계학적 문제에 대한 정확하고 효율적인 해석을 위하여 부영역과 공유면에 근거한 유한요소 정식화 기법을 제안하였다. 부영역과 공유면을 결합하기 위한 등식 적합 조건을 벌칙 함수로 처리함으로써 모든 유효 강성 행렬이 양정치화되며, 역행렬과 같은 각종 수치 연산이 매우 간편하다. 또한 전체 구조 형상이 복잡하더라도 대상 영역을 임의의 부영역으로 분할한 후, 공유면에서의 절점 연속성 등을 고려하지 않고 각 부영역을 독립적으로 유한요소 모델링할 수 있다. 컴퓨터 코드의 개발 및 수치 예제의 해석을 통하여 본 기법에 대한 기본적인 특성을 확인하였다.

Study on the Frame Structure Modeling of the Beam Element Formulated by Absolute Nodal Coordinate Approach

  • Accurate seismic analyses of large deformable moving structures are still unsolved problems in the field of earthquake engineering. In order to analyze these problems, the nonlinear finite element method formulated by the absolute nodal coordinate approach is noticed. Because, this formulation has several advantages over the standard procedures on mass matrix, elastic forces and damping forces in the case of large displacement problems. But, it has not been fully studied to build frame structure models by using beam elements in the absolute nodal coordinate formulation. In this paper, we propose the connecting method of the beam elements formulated by the absolute nodal coordinate. The coordinate transformation matrix of this element is introduced into the frame structure. This beam element has the characteristic that the mass matrix and bending stiffiness matrix are constant even if in the case of large displacement problems, and this characteristic is being kept after the transformation. In order to verify the proposed method, we show the numerical simulation results of frame structures for a vibration problem and a large displacement problem.

개수로 분류흐름에서의 특성분석 (Analysis of Characteristics for a Dividing Flow in Open Channels)

  • 개수로에서 발생하게 되는 분류흐름에는 많은 특성들이 나타나게 된다. 특히, 지류부의 내측 벽면을 따라서 이차류 흐름이 나타나 토사나 오염물 등의 퇴적물 침전을 일으키는 분리구역이 발생하게 된다. 분류흐름에서 발생하는 분리구역의 특성을 연구하기 위해 상류흐름에서의 자유수면 및 유속을 계산할 수 있는 이차원 천수방정식 수치모델인 RMA2를 이용하였다. 수치모의 결과는 Hsu 등(2002)의 실험결과와 비교하여 잘 일치함을 알 수 있었다. 수치모의를 통해 유량비에 대한 분리구역의 크기 관계를 제시할 수 있었다. 그리고 분리구역의 크기를 줄이기 위해 본류와 지류가 만나는 모서리 지점을 곡선과 대각선으로 연결하여 유수흐름을 완만하게 만든 지형들을 제안하였다.

순환적 분할에 의한 유한 요소망 자동 생성 알고리즘 (An Algorithm of Automatic Mesh Generation by Recursive Subdivisions)

  • 이 논문은 평면 상의 영역 경계와 조절선(control curve)에 맞추어서 요소망을 자동 생성하는 알고리즘을 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 여기서 제안하는 알고리즘은 요소망 생성 영역의 경계와 조절선들을 하나의 수퍼 루프(super loop)로 연결하고, 루프(loop)위에 있는 두 절점을 연결하는 최소벌점(minimum penalty)의 경로를 따라서 순환적으로 분할하여 요소를 생성하는 기법에 바탕을 두고 있다. 이 방법은 요소망 생성영역의 형상에 제한이 없으며, 모든 과정을 쉽게 자동화 할 수 있기 때문에 복잡한 영역의 요소망을 최소한의 사용자 개입을 통해서 간편하게 처리할 수 있는 프로그램으로 쉽게 이행할 수 있다. 이 알고리즘은 곡면 요소망 생성이나, 적응적 요소망 생성등에 쉽게 확장하여 적용할 수 있다.

자연순환식 태양열 급탕 시스템의 성능 추정 방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the System Performance Prediction Method of Natural Circulation Solar Hot Water System)

  • This study has been prepared for the purpose of developing the system performance prediction method of natural circulation solar hot water system. The storage tank of the natural circulation solar hot water system equipped with flat-plate solar collector is located at higher elevation than the solar collectors. Therefor, the storage tank temperature distribution formed accordance with configuration of storage tank by flow rate of circulating fluid affect system collection efficiency. In this study measure the storage tank temperature distribution with various experimental system under real sun condition and present the theoretical prediction method of the storage tank temperature. Moreover measure the flow rate not only day-time but also night-time reverse flow rate with die injection visual flow meter. Main conclusion obtain from the present study is as follows; 1) The storage tank temperature distribution above the connecting pipe connection position is the same as that of the fully mixed tank and below the connection position is the same as that of stratified tank. 2) The system performance sensitive to the storage tank temperature distribution. Therefore detailed tank model is necessary. Average storage tank temperature can be calculate 3% and storage tank temperature profile can get less than 10% difference with this model system.

As-built modeling of piping system from terrestrial laser-scanned point clouds using normal-based region growing

  • Recently, renovations of plant equipment have been more frequent because of the shortened lifespans of the products, and as-built models from large-scale laser-scanned data is expected to streamline rebuilding processes. However, the laser-scanned data of an existing plant has an enormous amount of points, captures intricate objects, and includes a high noise level, so the manual reconstruction of a 3D model is very time-consuming and costly. Among plant equipment, piping systems account for the greatest proportion. Therefore, the purpose of this research was to propose an algorithm which could automatically recognize a piping system from the terrestrial laser-scanned data of plant equipment. The straight portion of pipes, connecting parts, and connection relationship of the piping system can be recognized in this algorithm. Normal-based region growing and cylinder surface fitting can extract all possible locations of pipes, including straight pipes, elbows, and junctions. Tracing the axes of a piping system enables the recognition of the positions of these elements and their connection relationship. Using only point clouds, the recognition algorithm can be performed in a fully automatic way. The algorithm was applied to large-scale scanned data of an oil rig and a chemical plant. Recognition rates of about 86%, 88%, and 71% were achieved straight pipes, elbows, and junctions, respectively.

Handoff Management for Mobile Devices in Hybrid Wireless Data Networks

  • Today's wireless access networks consist of several tiers that overlap each other. Provisioning of real time undisrupted communication to mobile users, anywhere and anytime through these heterogeneous overlay networks, is a challenging task. We extend the end-to-end approach for the handoff management in hybrid wireless data network by designing a fully mobile-controlled handoff for mobile devices equipped with dual mode interfaces. By handoff, we mean switching the communication between interfaces connected to different subnets. This mobile-controlled handoff scheme reduces the service disruption time during both horizontal and vertical handoffs and does not require any modification in the access networks. We exploit the IP diversity created by the dual interfaces in the overlapping area by simultaneously connecting to different subnets and networks. Power saving is achieved by activating both interfaces only during the handoff period. The performance evaluation of the handoff is carried out by a simple mathematical analysis. The analysis shows that with proper network engineering, exploiting the speed of mobile node and overlapping area between subnets can reduce service disruption and power consumption during handoff significantly. We believe that with more powerful network interfaces our proposal of dual interfaces can be realized.

Experimental Analysis of Bankruptcy Prediction with SHAP framework on Polish Companies

  • With the fast development of artificial intelligence day by day, users are demanding explanations about the results of algorithms and want to know what parameters influence the results. In this paper, we propose a model for bankruptcy prediction with interpretability using the SHAP framework. SHAP (SHAPley Additive exPlanations) is framework that gives a visualized result that can be used for explanation and interpretation of machine learning models. As a result, we can describe which features are important for the result of our deep learning model. SHAP framework Force plot result gives us top features which are mainly reflecting overall model score. Even though Fully Connected Neural Networks are a "black box" model, Shapley values help us to alleviate the "black box" problem. FCNNs perform well with complex dataset with more than 60 financial ratios. Combined with SHAP framework, we create an effective model with understandable interpretation. Bankruptcy is a rare event, then we avoid imbalanced dataset problem with the help of SMOTE. SMOTE is one of the oversampling technique that resulting synthetic samples are generated for the minority class. It uses K-nearest neighbors algorithm for line connecting method in order to producing examples. We expect our model results assist financial analysts who are interested in forecasting bankruptcy prediction of companies in detail.

가상기후 시뮬레이션에 의한 공기산정 의사결정 지원모델에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Effective Decision-Making Support Model for Construction Duration by the Hypothetical Weather Simulation)

  • 대부분의 건설현장에서 기후에 대한공기산정은 정확한 자료 없이 현장관리자의 경험과 직관에 의해 일률적인 작업불가능일수를 정함으로써 잦은 공기 조정으로 인한 경제적 손실은 물론 공사 주체들간의 이해관계에서도 많은 문제점을 안고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 공기에 영향을 미치는 기후를 요소별로 분석하고 가상기후 시뮬레이션을 실시하여 공기산정과 연계함으로써 공정표 작성 시 현장관리자들의 효율적인 공기산정을 위한 의사결정 지원모델을 제시하고, 기대 효과는 다음과 같다. (1) 제한된 과거(1990년-1999년) 기후자료를 요소별로 분석함으로써 단위공종에 대한 기후요소의 영향을 과학적인 방법으로 자료를 제공하였다. (2) 공정계획 시 단위공종에 각 기후요소별로 인자를 추가함으로써 불확실한 기후에 대한 사전 공정계획의 효율성 제고가 기대된다. (3) 기존의 현장관리자들의 경험적이고 직관적인 기후에 대한 대처를 확률분포를 이용한 통계적 처리에 의해 공기산정에 관한 신뢰성 있는 의사결정이 가능하게 되었다. 본 연구에서 제안한 공기산정 의사결정 지원모델은 공정계획 입안 시 불확실한 기후에 대한 과학적인 의사결정에 도움이 될 것이다.

도시형한옥 주거지의 블록구획과 주거평면의 관계에 관한 연구 - 익선동 166번지 사례를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Relationship between Urban Block Division and Unit Plans of Korean Modern Traditional Style Houses - Focused on the Ikseon-Dong 166 -)

  • Ikseon-Dong 166 is one of the traditional urban resident area developed during 1930's. The purpose of this research is to analyze the structural relationship between a conventional housing unit plans and modern block plans based on orthogonal geometry. To fully explore the selling point of the new urban development, the planner or real estate developer in private sector did not abandon or compromise the conventional house layouts, consists of single layer of rooms keeping the main room facing south. This study concludes the following factors connecting the urban and architectural plans. Oblong block plans following east-west direction did not allow the southern exposure of courtyard and main room, which was the absolute requirement for traditional house units, the longer side of block plan followed north-south direction as a result. Considering the possibility of rent, having entrance at the east or west side of individual site enables two separate household maintain their spatial privacy. In addition to the factors mentioned above, when the blocks are to be divided into individual addresses, north-south oblong block plans maintained the length to face the front road minimum while the southern exposure maximized. These factors explains why the private developers maintained their blocks elongated to north-south direction when the block plans laied out by public sectors which did not care that much of southern exposure show random orientation in the view point of solar exposure.
