Implementation of Self-Interference Signal Cancelation System in RF/Analog for In-Band Full Duplex (동일대역 전이중 통신을 위한 RF/아날로그 영역에서의 자기간섭 신호 제거 시스템 구현)

  • In this paper, a system of self-interference signal cancelation for in-band full duplex has been implemented and tested in RF/analog region. The system performance has been evaluated with NI5791 platform and NI Flex RIO. Due to the low power level of the NI5791, the RF signal is amplified by SKYWORKS SE2565T power amplifier. A circulator is used to feed the antenna both the transmitter and receiver. The RF FIR filter is designed by twelve delay taps in two different groups, and the interval between each delay tap is designed to have 100 ps. The amplified signal is distributed to antenna and the FIR filter by use of a 10 dB directional coupler. The tap coefficients of the RF FIR filter are tuned to estimate the self-interference signal coming from antenna reflection and the leakage of the circulator, and the self-interference signal is subtracted. The system is test with 802.11a/g 20 MHz OFMD at 2.56 GHz, and the output power of the amplifier of 0 dBm. The self-interference signal is canceled out by 53 dB.

  • 본 논문에서는 일대일 전송에 국한되어 사용되는 전이중 패스트 이더넷 방식을 응용하여 고속 브로드 캐스팅 통신망을 구성하고 실시간 전송을 요구하는 데이터를 효율적으로 전달할 수 있는 알고리듬을 제시한다. 제안된 통신망의 세부구조와 통신망의 데이터 송수신 동작 등을 설명하고, 실시간 데이터 전송을 보장하기 위하여 실시간 메시지 스케줄링 알고리듬을 제시한다. 제시된 알고리듬을 적용하였을 때의 각종 시변수들에 대한 수학적인 분석을 통하여 실시간성 보장에 대한 성능평가를 포함한 통신망 성능 평가를 수행한다. 제안된 통신망 FER(Full-duplex Ethernet networks for Real-time communication)의 실제 구현 및 응용 대상에 대해서 언급한다.

Secrecy Capacity for Full-Duplex Massive MIMO Relaying Systems With Low-Resolution ADCs

  • In this paper, we consider an amplify-and-forward (AF) full duplex (FD) massive-antenna relay (or base station) aiding communication between K single-antenna source and destination pairs whose transmissions are overheard by one single-antenna eavesdropper. Maximum ratio combining (MRC) and maximum ratio transmission (MRT) processing is employed at the relay. The secrecy performance of the system is then derived with both relay and destination being equipped with low resolution analog-to-digital converters (ADCs). The results show the detrimental effect of the eavesdropper's presence on the sum rate of the system.

  • The IEEE 802.15.4 offers standard about PHY and MAC layer and features low power, low bandwidth, and low speed data communication. Because of this reason, IEEE 802.15.4 is only within a limited range such as sensor detection and home network; nevertheless, the research about transmission multimedia data like voice packet through wireless sensor networks is conducted widely. In this paper, we proposed the group communication system based on the sensor network. TDMA/TDD MAC based on the IEEE 802.15.4 PHY for voice communication on the sensor network is designed by improvement existing peer-to-peer voice communication on the sensor network and hardware is implemented for group communication. To measure the quality of designed system, mean opinion score (MOS) is obtained from the experiment and verified by using sine wave method. As a result of an experiment, we expect that a many cases of application solution can be developed using presented system.

  • We investigated the performance of a visible light communication (VLC) transceiver applicable to both of illumination and wireless communication. we considered the visibility of VLC, the easy connection for wireless communication and high-speed transmission and implemented VLC transceiver based on edge-emitting laser diode and silicon photodiode. The proposed VLC transceiver is designated to operate in a full duplex mode at high speed of 120 Mbit/s. The shielding method that is employed as a means to reduce the light cross coupling effect inside the VLC transceiver is proposed and its performance is experimentally measured. We also applied optical antenna to have the larger angle of field of view (FOV) to novel structure of VLC transceiver and examined and analyzed their bit error rate performance, photometric result with respect to the transmission distance, the coverage range and the tilt degree as transmission link characteristic between two transceivers without optical antenna and with optical antenna.

  • In this paper, we analyze ADC effect in IBFD system. Also, we design IBFD system with ADC effect, and evaluate BER performance of the system according to power of self-interference. Firstly, we describe a fundamentals of general IBFD system. And then we calculate and analyze characteristics of desired signal before and after ADC when residual self-interference is added to desired signal after RF cancellation. In this calculation, we have confirm some conditions for selection of # of ADC bit. Finally, we design IBFD system with ADC effect, and evaluate BER performance of the system by using Simulink simulation tool. As simulation results, we have confirmed that when power of residual self-interference is high before ADC, IBFD system must use high-bit ADC for decreasing quantization step. Also, we have confirmed that quantization step should be lower than one-third of amplitude of desired signal for effective communication with good performance.

  • In this paper, a distributed mobile relay power control (DMRPC) scheme for maximizing individual cell throughput is proposed for mobile relay aided multi-cell orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)-time division duplex (TDD) system. In the system with DMRPC, the power levels of relay's are controlled by individual cell without cell cooperation and signalling overhead. It is demonstrated by numerical simulation that DMRPC provides the better cell throughput performance than either the full power relay aided system or conventional system without relay does. Moreover, it is also shown that relay aided systems with DMRPC, and the conventional system have almost identical cell edge throughput, while full power relay aided systems show worse performance in cell edge throughput.

  • In this paper, we proposed and demonstrated an indoor visible-light communication system using an array of light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The main idea is based on that the LEDs can be used not only for lighting but also for free-space optical communications. Because LEDs offer advantageous properties such as high brightness, reliability, lower power consumption and long lifetime, the indoor visible-light communication systems are going to provide high quality of service by the high radiation power of the LED lighting. Prototype of simplex channel for audio and the full-duplex channel for text message were developed. Results indicates the viability of creating inexpensive free-space optical communication transceivers that might be embedded in commercial light products to supports indoor wireless networking.

A Novel Social Aware Reverse Relay Selection Scheme for Underlaying Multi- Hop D2D Communications

  • Device-to-Device (D2D) communication has received increasing attention and been studied extensively thanks to its advantages in improving spectral efficiency and energy efficiency of cellular networks. This paper proposes a novel relay selection algorithm for multi-hop full-duplex D2D communications underlaying cellular networks. By selecting the relay of each hop in a reverse manner, the proposed algorithm reduces the heavy signaling overhead that traditional relay selection algorithms introduce. In addition, the social domain information of mobile terminals is taken into consideration and its influence on the performance of D2D communications studied, which is found significant enough not to be overlooked. Moreover, simulations show that the proposed algorithm, in absence of social relationship information, improves data throughput by around 70% and 7% and energy efficiency by 64% and 6%, compared with two benchmark algorithms, when D2D distance is 260 meters. In a more practical implementation considering social relationship information, although the proposed algorithm naturally achieves less throughput, it substantially increases the energy efficiency than the benchmarks.

  • In this paper, we propose a SSD (simultaneous single-band duplex) system using Digital Cancellation. Also, we propose a method for Digital Cancellation when RF Cancellation is effectively performed. The proposed system has estimation frame for effective self-interference channel estimation in time-domain. The proposed system calculates signal power for selection of optimal coefficient after digital cancellation. Then, the proposed system selects coefficient of minimum signal power. Further, the proposed system uses LDPC code to minimize the effects of remaining self-interference signal. The proposed system shows BER performance of at 20dB by cancelling self-interference and iterating LDPC code. That is, the proposed system shows that the SSD communication is possible in static self-interference channel.
