  • A study on the combustion characteristics by using Emulsion Fuel in Diesel Engine is performed experimentally. In this paper, the experiments are performed at engine speed 1800rpm, emulsion fuel ratio is 0%, 10%, 20%, and main measured items are specific fuel consumption, pressure, ratio of pressure rise, rate of heat release etc. The obtained conclusions are as follows. 1) Specific fuel consumption increase maximum 19.8% at low load, but is not effected at full load. 2) Ratio of pressure rise and rate of heat release are about the same in the case of 10% and 20% of emulsion fuel ratio. 3) Cylinder Pressure increase 11.7%, ratio of pressure rise increase 60.4% in case of emulsion fuel ratio 20% at full load. 4) Rate of heat release increase 76.9% in case of emulsion fuel ratio 20% at full load.

Implant success rates in full-arch rehabilitations supported by upright and tilted implants: a retrospective investigation with up to five years of follow-up

  • Purpose: The aim of this retrospective study was to investigate the cumulative success rate, the implant survival rate, and the occurrence of biological complications in implants supporting full-arch immediately loaded rehabilitations supported by upright and tilted implants. Methods: The clinical records and periapical radiographs of patients who attended follow-up visits were collected, and information was recorded regarding marginal bone loss resorption, the occurrence of peri-implant infectious diseases, and the implant survival rate. Implants were classified as successful or not successful according to two distinct classifications for implant success. Results: A total of 53 maxillary and mandibular restorations including 212 implants were analysed, of which 56 implants were studied over the full five-year follow-up period. After five years, the cumulative success rate was 76.04% according to the Misch classification and 56.34% according to the Albrektsson classification. The cumulative implant survival rate was 100%, although one implant was found to be affected by peri-implantitis at the second follow-up visit. Conclusions: The cumulative success rate of the implants dropped over time, corresponding to the progression of marginal bone resorption. The prevalence of peri-implantitis was very low, and the implant survival rate was not found to be related to the cumulative success rate.

1/8-Rate Phase Detector를 이용한 클록-데이터 복원회로 (A Clock-Data Recovery using a 1/8-Rate Phase Detector)

  • 본 논문에서는 1/8-rate 위상검출기를 이용한 클록-데이터 복원회로를 제안한다. 기존의 full-rate 또는 half-rate 위상검출기의 사용은 동일 데이터 속도에서 복원된 클록의 주파수가 상대적으로 높아야 하므로 샘플링회로와 VCO의 설계에 부담으로 작용한다. 본 논문에서는 복원된 클록의 주파수를 낮추기 위해 1/8-rate 클록을 사용할 수 있는 위상검출기를 구성하고 Linear equalizer를 위상검출기 입력에 사용하여 복원된 클록의 지터를 감소시켰다. 테스트 칩은 0.13-${\mu}m$ CMOS 공정으로 제작되었고 입력은 3-Gb/s PRBS 데이터 패턴, 동작전압은 1.2-V에서 측정되었다.

최대 다이버시티 이득을 획득하는 새로운 full-rate 시공간블록부호들 (New full-rate space-time block codes with full diversity)

  • 본 논문은 QAM 변조방식과 준정지(quasi-static) Rayleigh 페이딩 채널 환경에서 3이상의 임의의 송신안테나를 사용할 경우 추가로 주파수 대역을 사용하지 않고 최대 다이버시티 이득을 획득하는 새로운 시공간블록부호들을 제안한다. 이 제안된 부호들은 기존의 A-ST-CR 부호$^{[6,7]}$와 같이 성상 회전 선부호기$^{[4,5]}$와 Alamouti 부호$^{[3]}$ 적절히 직렬 연접하여 구성된다. 전산 실험 결과, 제안된 부호는 ST-CR 부호$^{[4,5]}$보다 높은 코딩이득을 획득하며, QPSK 변조방식과 3, 4, 5개의 송신 안테나 개수를 사용할 경우 평균 심벌오율 $10^{-5}$에서 기존의 ST-CR $^{[4,5]}$보다 각각 약 1.3dB, 1.4dB 그리고 1.5dB의 코딩 이득의 성능 향상을 보이고, 16-QAM 변조방식과 3개의 송신 안테나 개수를 사용할 경우 약 3dB의 성능 향상을 보인다.

  • 풀-브리지 서브모듈은 MMC의 단위 시스템으로서 서브모듈에 대한 수명예측은 HVDC 시스템의 유지 보수와 경제성 확보 관점에서 매우 중요하다. 그러나 일반적으로 부품의 종류, 개수, 결합 상태만을 고려하는 수명 예측은 대상 시스템의 구동상태를 고려하지 않는 일반화 된 결과로 실제 시스템의 수명과 크게 차이가 발생할 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 풀-브리지 서브모듈의 동작 특성을 반영하기 위한 목적으로 고장나무를 설계하고 기본 사상의 고장률에 MIL-HDBK-217F를 적용하여 풀-브리지 서브모듈의 수명을 예측한다. 기존의 부품고장률 분석과 제안된 고장나무 분석에 의한 기대 수명을 비교하고, 풀-브리지 서브모듈의 여유율 적용 여부에 따른 수명을 비교한다.

Distributed Quasi-Orthogonal Space-Time Block Code for Four Transmit Antennas with Information Exchange Error Mitigation

  • In this paper, we extend the case of information exchange error mitigation for the distributed orthogonal space-time block code (DOSTBC) for two transmit antennas to distributed quasi-orthogonal space-time block code (DQOSTBC) for four transmit antennas. A rate 1 full-diversity DQOSTBC for four transmit antennas is designed. The code matrix changes according to different information exchange error cases, so full diversity is maintained even if not all information exchange is correct. We also perform analysis of the pairwise error probability. The performance analysis indicates that the proposed rate 1 DQOSTBC outperforms rate 1/2 DOSTBC for four transmit antennas at the same transmission rate, which is confirmed by the simulation results.

구치부 심미수복, 풀지르코니아 크라운의 파절원인과 그 해결방안 (Factors affecting fracture of full contour monolithic zirconia dental prosthesis in laboratory process)

  • There are several factors affected fractures of full contour zirconia (FCZ) dental prosthesis in laboratory process. First, residual moisture can cause zirconia cracks. Complete dry is requisite before zirconia sintering to prevent zirconia cracks. Second, slow cooling rate is essential to prevent cracks during zirconia sintering process. Cracks in bridge pontic area, thick dental implant prosthesis can be prevented by slow cooling rate such as 3 degree Celsius per minute during zirconia sintering. Third, slow heating rate and slow cooling rate during staining and glazing procedure is necessary to inhibit thermal shock of sintered dental zirconia. Lower preheat temperature of porcelain furnace is recommended. Finally, using diamond disc to open embrasure can lead cracks.

Real Exchange Rate Misalignment and Economic Fundamentals in Korea

  • This study analyzes the response of economic fundamentals to a misalignment shock of the real effective exchange rate in Korea. The estimation results of the equilibrium exchange rate determination model and time series model show that there is no significant difference in the direction of the deviation from equilibrium and that the won is significantly undervalued during the period before 1988, or during the currency and global financial crises. The cumulative impulse response analysis of the VAR model over the full period shows that an upward shock to the deviation from the equilibrium exchange rate reduces the GDP gap and inflation rate, while the effect on the call rate is not statistically significant. Furthermore, an upward misalignment shock initially worsens the goods and services balance, but the deficit in the goods and services balance shrinks significantly over time. In rolling regressions analysis, the entire sample is divided into two periods to estimate the impulse response function from the first period, and then the same procedure is repeated by moving the sample forward one by one. The cumulative impulse response results show that, as is the case for the full period, a positive exchange rate misalignment shock initially reduces the GDP gap, inflation, and worsens the goods and services balance, but the impact of this upward shock on these variables becomes increasingly weaker in the more recent sample. It also shows that the negative impact of upward shocks on the current account is smoothed out more recently during periods of undervaluation than during periods of overvaluation.

고속 실시간 처리 full search block matching 움직임 추정 프로세서 (A real-time high speed full search block matching motion estimation processor)

  • A novel high speed VLSI architecture and its VLSI realization methodologies for a motion estimation processor based on full search block matching algorithm are presentd. The presented architecture is designed in order to be suitable for highly parallel and pipelined processing with identical PE's and adjustable in performance and hardware amount according to various application areas. Also, the throughput is maximized by enhancing PE utilization up to 100% and the chip pin count is reduced by reusing image data with embedded image memories. Also, the uniform and identical data processing structure of PE's eases VLSI implementation and the clock rate of external I/O data can be made slower compared to internal clock rate to resolve I/O bottleneck problem. The logic and spice simulation results of the proposed architecture are presented. The performances of the proposed architecture are evaluated and compared with other architectures. Finally, the chip layout is shown.

Equal Gain Block Decomposition Methods for Multiuser MIMO Networks

  • In this paper, we propose a new joint precoder and postcoder design strategy to support multiple streams per user in multiuser multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems. We propose two step precoding strategies using equal channel gain decomposition and block diagonalization at the transmitter. With the proposed precoder, the multiuser MIMO channel can be decomposed into multiple parallel channels with equal channel gain per user. After applying receive postcoder which is generated and sent by the transmitter, we can use ML based decoder per stream to achieve full receive diversity. Achievable sum rate bound and diversity performance of the proposed algorithm are presented with feedback signaling design and quantitative complexity analysis. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm asymptotically approaches to the sum rate capacity of the MIMO broadcast channel while maintaining full diversity order.
