1.2[kW]급 연료전지용 전력변환장치의 개발 (Development of 1.2[kW]Class Fuel Cell Power Conversion System)

  • 연료전지 발전시스템에서는 DC-DC 승압용 컨버터와 DC-AC 인버터가 필요하다. 그러므로 본 논문에서는 연료전지의 전압을 380[VDC]로 승압하기 위한 절연형 DC-DC 컨버터와 단상 220[VAC]로 변환하기 위한 LC필터를 가진 PWM 인버터로 구성된 전력변환장치를 제안하였다. 특히 제안한 연료전지 시스템용 고효율 DC-DC 컨버터는 위상천이 PWM 제어법을 이용하여 부분 공진에 의한 ZVS를 실현하였으며, 일정 스위칭 주파수화 및 스위치의 스위칭 손실, 피크 전압과 전류를 저감시켰다. 그리고, 정류회로에 2개의 인덕터를 첨가하여 리플성분이 저감된 직류전압과 전류를 부하측에 안정하게 공급할 수 있었다. 또한, 넓은 출력 전압 조정에도 효율을 92[%]정도 얻을 수 있다. 이상과 같이 결과는 시뮬레이션과 실험을 통하여 그 타당성을 확인하였다.

  • ${\gamma}$-LiAlO2 fibers for fiber reinforced molten carbonate fuel cell (MCFC) matrix have been produced from LiAlO2 complex polymeric sols using the sol-gel process. The stable and spinnable LiAlO2 sols could be synthesized by mixing LiNO3 alcohol solutions in aluminum complex polymeric sols prepared through the condensationpolymerization reaction of 1 more of aluminum tri-sec-butoxide with 0.55 mole of mixed chelates (mole ratio of acetylaceton/triethanolamine=0.25/0.3). It was found that the viscosity range for fiber-spinning should be higher than 30 poise. The defect-free flexible ${\gamma}$-LiAlO2 fibers with the average tensile strength of 350 MPa could be obtained when the spinned fibers were heat-treated to 120$0^{\circ}C$ on the specified heating schedule after dried at room temperature.

  • Modern automatic transmissions equip torque converters with lock-up clutches to reduce the energy loss of hydraulic systems. Instead of simply engaging the clutch disks, the new technology of clutch slip has been developed to improve the overall efficiency of power transmission. There are two major problems with the clutch slip system. The first is how to keep the slip between the two disks within a small range and the second is when to start or stop the slip. In this paper, the second problem is discussed in view of the vehicle economy. With a simple vehicle dynamic model, the fuel economy is calculated to determine the lock-up strategy. Then the lock-up strategy is developed for a slip schedule.

발전용 가스터빈에서 발생하는 연소진동 특성 및 이상연소진동의 저감 (Characterization of Combustion Oscillation and Reduction of Abnormal Oscillation in a Power Generation Gas Turbine)

  • Gas Turbine combustors for power plant can be reduced NOx emissions using lean premixed combustion technology. But the combustors are likely to occur combustion oscillations which damage operation reliability and mechanical life of the gas turbines. In this paper, characterizations of oscillation in a gas turbine combustor for power plant are presented. Combustion dynamics occur $1{\sim}1.5$ psi in amplitude with low frequency less than 140Hz during normal operation. An abnormal high level dynamics, 2.0 psi amplitude occur at 125 Hz frequency. Abnormal combustion oscillation is reduced by modulation of fuel supply valve control schedule.

Transient Analysis of a Simple Cycle Gas Turbine Engine

  • A method to simulate the gas turbine transient behavior is developed. The basic principles of the method and main input data required are described. Calculation results are presented in terms of whole operating regime of the engine. The influence of initial parameters such as starting engine power, moment of inertia of the rotor, fuel schedule on performance characteristics of gas turbine during transient operation is shown. In addition, the effect of bleeding air on transient behavior is also considered. For validation of the developed computer code, a comparative analysis with experimental data obtained from a heavy duty gas turbine is made. Calculation results agree well with the experimental data for the range of operating regime studied and proved applicability of the developed technique to initial design stage of control system.

  • 본 논문에서는 유도전동기의 손실을 고려한 최대 효율제어기법을 전기자동차 구동시스템에 적용하고, 그 효과를 검증하기 위해 최대 효율제어를 적용하였을 때와 기존의 일정자속 제어방식을 적용하였을 경우에 대해 각각 ­미국의 F.T.P-72와 E.P.A의 HWFET(Highway Fuel Effciency Test)에서 정한 시내 주행모드(LA-4 Mode) 와 고속 주행 모드에서의 주행시험을 통해 그 결과를 비교 제시하였다. 또한 시험을 통해 전기자동차의 주행거리 증대를 위해 최대 효율제어 적용시 효과를 검토하였다.

  • The present study describes an investigation into the characteristics of combustion oscillation and its suppression instability of a silo type gas turbine combustor in commercial power plant. Combustion oscillation is occurred the combustor in near full load during operation. As a result of FFT analysis of the combustion dynamics, the frequency of the oscillation is analyzed as the 1'st longitudinal mode of acoustic resonance of the combustor. For suppress of the instability, combustion tuning with adjust of fuel valve schedule is carried out, which changes equivalent ratio of each burners. As the result, the oscillation is successfully reduced with meeting the level of NOx emission regulation.

Revenue Maximizing Scheduling for a Fast Electric Vehicle Charging Station with Solar PV and ESS

  • The modern transportation and mobility sector is expected to encounter high penetration of Electric Vehicles (EVs) because EVs contribute to reducing the harmful emissions from fossil fuel-powered vehicles. With the prospective growth of EVs, sufficient and convenient facilities for fast charging are crucial toward satisfying the EVs' quick charging demand during their trip. Therefore, the Fast Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (FECS) will be a similar role to gas stations. In this paper, we study a charging scheduling problem for the FECS with solar photovoltaic (PV) and an Energy Storage System (ESS). We formulate an optimization problem that minimizes the operational costs of FECS. There are two cost and one revenue terms that are buying cost from main grid power, ESS degradation cost, and revenue from the charging fee of the EVs. Simulation results show that the proposed scheduling algorithm reduces the daily operational cost by effectively using solar PV and ESS.

Launch Site Activities for the Launch of an Earth Observation Satellite

  • Korea Aerospace Research Institute has developed an earth observation satellite whose primary mission objective is to provide high resolution electro optical earth images for Geographical Information Systems (GIS) establishment and the applications for environmental, agriculture and ocean monitoring. It was successfully launched into its mission orbit by using a commercial launch vehicle on 18th of May, 2012. This paper describes a series of launch activity at the launch site including its transportation to the launch site. Before conducting the launch site operation, satellite operation plane was prepared. Combining the satellite operation plan and launch vehicle activities, an integrated launch site operation plan and schedule have been drawn up. After arrival of the spacecraft at the launch site, post-ship check out has been conducted. And then it was fuel loaded and integrated with launch vehicle hardware. After completion of final electrical check out, count down procedure was executed. on 18th of May, it was launched into the space and was separated from the launch vehicle as planned. About 3 months of early operation and calibration/validation, now the satellite is conducting its normal mission.

Application of Logistic Simulation for Transport of SFs From Kori Site to an Assumed Interim Storage Facility

  • A paradigm shift in the government's energy policy was reflected in its declaration of early closure of old nuclear plants as well as cancellation of plans for the construction of new plants. To this end, unit 1 of Kori Nuclear Power Plant was permanently shut down and is set for decommission. Based on these changes, the off-site transport of spent fuels from nuclear power plants has become a critical issue. The purpose of this study is to develop an optimized method for transportation of spent fuels from Kori Nuclear Power Plant's units 1, 2, 3, and 4 to an assumed interim storage facility by simulating the scenarios using the Flexsim software, which is widely used in logistics and manufacturing applications. The results of the simulation suggest that the optimized transport methods may contribute to the development of delivery schedule of spent fuels in the near future. Furthermore, these methods can be applied to decommissioning plan of nuclear power plants.
