  • Recently, the research focused on fuel cell hybrid vehicles (FCHVs) is becoming an attractive solution due to environmental pollution generated by fossil fuel vehicles. The proper energy control strategy will result in extending the fuel cell lifetime, increasing of energy efficiency and an improvement of vehicle performance. Battery state of charge (SoC) is an important quantity and the estimation of the SoC is also the basis of the energy control strategy for hybrid electric vehicles. Estimating the battery's SoC is complicated by the fact that the SoC depends on many factors such as temperature, battery capacitance and internal resistance. In this paper, battery charging time estimated by SoC is studied by using the speed response and current response. Hybrid system is consist of a fuel cell unit and a battery in series connection. For experiment, speed response of vehicle and current response of battery were determined under different state of charge. As the results, the optimal battery charging time can be estimated. Current response time was faster than RPM response time at low speed and vice versa at high speed.

  • 이 논문의 목적은 LPG 자동차의 액상 분사시스템에 관련된 고장사례를 연구하는 것이다. LPi 분사시스템인 인젝터를 점검한 결과, 인젝터에 카본이 누적되어 운전 중에 간헐적으로 연료를 분사하는 인젝터의 미세한 홀을 막아 연비를 5% 정도 떨어뜨리는 것으로 확인되었다. 엔진의 공회전을 조절하는 시스템인 공회전 조절장치 부품과 엔진에 공기를 공급하는 시스템인 스로틀 보디에 카본이 퇴적되어 공기의 흐름을 간섭함으로써 연비가 7% 악화된 것을 확인되었다. 엔진의 흡기 매니폴드 개스킷의 일부가 찢어져, 실린더 헤드와 실린더 블록의 밀착성이 약화되어 흡기행정에서 외부의 공기가 이 틈새로 간헐적으로 유입되면서 증가된 공기량만큼 연료량의 증가를 가져와 엔진의 회전수가 증가하여 부조화 현상이 발생되어 정상적인 상태보다 연비가 3% 정도 악화된 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 고장사례는 운전중에 엔진의 출력 성능을 떨어뜨리고, 자동차의 연비를 악화시키는 요인이 된다. 따라서 품질확보에 철저하게 대처하여 고장현상을 최소화 하여야 할 것으로 판단된다.

온도 및 압력 측정에 기반을 둔 디젤 차량의 연료필터 분석 시스템 (Analyzing System of Fuel Filter Based on Temperature and Pressure Measurement for Diesel Cars)

  • 본 논문에서는 겨울철 저온환경에서 디젤 엔진의 연료필터를 검사하기 위한 온도, 압력 및 유량 분석 시스템을 제안하였다. 디젤엔진의 연료인 경유는 특정 온도 이하로 내려가면 파라핀과 같은 반고체 상태인 왁싱(Waxing)물질을 형성하여 유동성이 낮아지기 때문에 엔진 시동이 원활하지 않다. 그래서 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해서 블록 히터를 내장하게 된다. 그리고 연료필터의 성능을 측정하기 위해서는 극저온 하에서 엔진 시동 시부터 온도, 압력 및 유량을 분석할 수 있는 시스템이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 제작된 시스템을 이용하여 연료필터 주변의 성능에 관계된 물리량을 측정하였으며 이를 분석하였다. 또한 측정된 데이터는 임베디드 시스템의 웹서버를 이용하여 원격 네트워크로 전송하였고 원격에서 사용자들이 웹브라우저를 이용하여 운전 상태를 용이하게 파악할 수 있게 설계하였다. 설계된 시스템을 검증하기 위하여 제작된 소형 실험 챔버에 설치하고 상온 및 극저온 상황에서 실험하여 연료필터 입출력 측 연료의 온도, 압력, 유량 데이터를 얻을 수 있었으며, 연료히터의 동작 시 연료의 흐름이 개선되는 것을 알 수 있었다.

Y2O3-stabilized ZrO2, Ni, and graphene-added Mg by reactive mechanical grinding processing for hydrogen storage and comparison with Ni and Fe2O3 or MnO-added Mg

  • The optimum powder to ball ratio was examined, which is one of the important conditions in reactive mechanical grinding processing. Yttria (Y2O3)-stabilized zirconia (ZrO2) (YSZ), Ni, and graphene were chosen as additives to enhance the hydriding and dehydriding rates of Mg. Samples with a composition of 92.5 wt% Mg + 2.5 wt% YSZ + 2.5 wt% Ni + 2.5 wt% graphene (designated as Mg-2.5YSZ-2.5Ni-2.5graphene) were prepared by grinding in hydrogen atmosphere. Mg-2.5YSZ-2.5Ni-2.5graphene had a high effective hydrogen-storage capacity of almost 7 wt% (6.85 wt%) at 623 K in 12 bar H2 at the second cycle (n = 2). Mg-2.5YSZ-2.5Ni-2.5graphene contained Mg2Ni phase after hydriding-dehydriding cycling. Mg-2.5YSZ-2.5Ni-2.5graphene had a larger quantity of hydrogen absorbed for 60 min, Ha (60 min), than Mg-2.5Ni-2.5graphene and Mg-2.5graphene. The addition of YSZ also increased the initial dehydriding rate and the quantity of hydrogen released for 60 min, Hd (60 min), compared with those of Mg-2.5Ni-2.5graphene. Y2O3-stabilized ZrO2, Ni, and graphene-added Mg had a higher initial hydriding rate and a larger Ha (60 min) than Fe2O3, MnO, or Ni and Fe2O3-added Mg at n = 1.

파이로공정 시설 개념설계를 위한 기준 사용후핵연료 선정 (Reference Spent Nuclear Fuel for Pyroprocessing Facility Design)

  • 제3차 전력수급기본계획에 근거하여 현재 운영중이거나 계획중인 원자력발전소에서 발생할 사용후핵연료의 양과 특성을 추정하였다. 본 연구에서 고려된 대상 특성은 핵연료집합체에 대한 제원, 핵연료봉 배열, 무게, $^{235}U$ 초기 농축도 및 방출연소도이다. 이들은 파이로공정 시설을 설계하는데 필수적인 것이다. 2077년말까지 가압경수로 사용후핵연료의 예상발생량은 약 23,000 tU이 될 것으로 보인다. $^{235}U$ 초기 농축도 4.5 wt.% 이하를 갖는 사용후핵연료의 비율은 전체 발생량의 약 95%를 차지할 것이며, 16$\times$16 배열을 갖는 핵연료집합체는 74%를 차지할 것 같다. 현재 사용후핵연료의 평균연소도는 45 GWd/tU인데 반해, 2010년대 중 후반 이후 발생할 사용후 핵연료의 평균연소도는 55 GWd/tU이 될 것 같다. 이상의 결과에 따라 파이로공정 시설의 설계를 위한 기준 사용후핵연료를 도출하였다. 예상 사용후핵연료는 21.4 cm $\times$ 21.4 cm의 단면적, 453 cm의 길이, 672 kg의 질량, 4.5 wt.%의 $^{235}U$ 초기 농축도 및 55 GWd/tU의 방출연소도를 갖는 16$\times$16 한국표준형연료가 타당할 것으로 판단된다.

시멘트 생산과정에 따른 CaO 함량과 CO2의 발생량 (The CO2 Emission in the Process of Cement Manufacture Depending on CaO Content)

  • 이 연구에서는 시멘트 생산공정에서 석회석 원료에 따른 $CO_2$ 배출량 및 그에 따른 물리적 특성을 파악하기 위해 국내 6개사의 보통포틀랜드시멘트에 대한 CaO 함유량 및 모르타르의 압축강도를 측정하였다. 탈탄산반응 시 발생되는 CaO와 각각의 시멘트에 함유된 석회석의 손실량에 대하여 CaO 함유량 및 압축강도, $CO_2$ 배출량과의 관계를 비교분석하였다. 단위 시멘트에 대한 $CO_2$ 배출량 산정 결과 석회석의 탈탄산에 따른 $CO_2$ 배출량이 전체 배출량의 67%가량 차지하였고, 시멘트 제조 시 공정관리에 따라 $CO_2$ 배출량에 차이가 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 $CO_2$ 배출의 주요 인자로 화석연료의 사용 및 재료 손실률이 지대한 영향을 미친다는 것을 확인하였다. 시멘트 내의 CaO 함유량이 증가함에 따라 압축강도 역시 증가하였으며, CaO 손실량이 클수록 CaO 함유량 및 압축강도는 감소하였으나 $CO_2$ 배출량은 증가함에 따라 시멘트 제조 시 CaO 생성량보다는 재료 및 공정관리가 $CO_2$ 배출에 더 영향력이 있음을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 포졸란계 혼화재인 PFA, GGBS를 사용함으로서 이에 따른 가격, $CO_2$ 배출 및 강도증진 효과가 있음을 확인하였다.

  • As the environmental pollution becomes serious global problem, the regulation of emission exhausted from automobiles is strengthen. Therefore, it is very important to know how to reduce the NOx and PM simultaneously in diesel engines, which has lot of merits such as high thermal efficiency, low fuel consumption and durability. By this reason, the new concept called as Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition(HCCI) engines are spotlighted because this concept reduced NOx and P.M. simultaneously. However, it is well known that HCCI engines increased HC and CO. Thus, the investigation of combustion characteristics which consists cool and hot flames for HCCI engines were needed to obtain the optimal combustion condition. In this study, combustion characteristics for direct inject type HCCI engine such as quantity of cool flame and hot flame, ignition timing and ignition delay were investigated to clarify the effects of these parameters on performance. The results revealed that diesel combustion showed the two-stage ignition of cool flame and hot flame, the rate of cool flame increase and hot flame decrease with increasing intake air temperature. On the other hand, the gasoline combustion is the single-stage ignition and ignition timing is near the TDC. In addition mixed fuel combustion showed different phenomenon, which depends on the ratio of gasoline component. Ignition timing of mixed fuel is retarded near the TDC and the ignition delay is increased according to ratio of gasoline.

디젤기관에서 경유/부탄올 혼합연료의 기관성능 및 연소특성 해석 (Analysis of performance and combustion characteristics of D.O./butanol blended fuels in a diesel engine)

  • In this study, to investigate the effect of physical and chemical properties of butanol on the engine performance and combustion characteristics, the coefficient of variations of IMEP (indicated mean effective pressure) and fuel conversion efficiency were obtained by measuring the combustion pressure and the fuel consumption quantity according to the engine load and the mixing ratio of diesel oil and butanol. In addition, the combustion pressure was analyzed to obtain the pressure increasing rate and heat release rate, and then the combustion temperature was calculated using a single zone combustion model. The experimental and analysis results of butanol blending oil were compared with the those of diesel oil under the similar operation conditions to determine the performance of the engine and combustion characteristics. As a result, the combustion stabilities of D.O. and butanol blending oil were good in this experimental range, and the indicated fuel conversion efficiency of butanol blending oil was slightly higher at low load but that of D.O. was higher above medium load. The premixed combustion period of D.O. was almost constant regardless of the load. As the load was lower and the butanol blending ratio was higher, the premixed combustion period of butanol blending oil was longer and the premixed combustion period was almost constant at high load regardless of butanol blending ratio. The average heat release rate was higher with increasing loads; especially as butanol blending ratio was increased at high load, the average heat release rate of butanol blending oil was higher than that of D.O. In addition, the calculated maximum. combustion temperature of butanol blending oil was higher than that of D.O. at all loads.

Assaying of SNM using Simultaneous Detection of Fission Neutrons and Gammas by Employing a Novel Phoswich Detector

  • For the precise measurements of special nuclear materials (SNM) including Pu and Am isotopes, we have used phoswich detector combination of two single crystal scintillators of Gd3Ga3Al2O12:Ce and CsI:Tl. High detection efficiency and sensitivity along with high figure of merit for the discrimination of these phoswich detectors ensures the detection and discrimination of thermal neutrons and gammas from spontaneous fission of Pu and other isotopes in presence of high gamma background. Using this detector, the low energy gammas, which is stopped completely in 1mm thick disc of GGAG, can be also discriminated from high energies gamma and shows linearity in wide range of sample quantities. By changing only the appropriate shielding, the similar setup was used for thermal neutron detection and shows a very good linearity over wide range. The quantity of a test sample was also calculated accurately by using the measured calibrated plot.
