  • This work proposes a simple control method of a buck-type active power decoupling circuit that can minimize the ripple values in the dc link voltage. The proposed method utilizes a simplified duty calculation method and an optimal compensation gain tracking algorithm with variable-step approach. Thus, the dc link voltage ripple can be effectively reduced through the proposed method along with rapid response in tracking the optimum compensation gain. Moreover, the proposed method has better dynamic responses in the load fluctuation or abnormal situation. MATLAB/Simulink simulation and hardware-in-the-loop-simulation(HILS)-based experimental results are presented to validate the effectiveness of the proposed control method.

  • Active safety vehicle devices are getting more attention recently. To prevent traffic accidents, the environment in front and even around the vehicle must be checked and monitored. In the present applications, mainly camera and radar based systems are used as sensing devices. Laser scanner, one of the sensing devices, has the advantage of obtaining accurate measurement of the distance and the geometric information about the objects in the field of view of the laser scanner. However, there is a problem that detecting object occluded by a foreground one is difficult. In this paper, criterions are proposed to manage this problem. Simulation is conducted by vehicle mounted the laser scanner and multiple-hypothesis algorithm tracks the candidate objects. We compare the running times as multi-hypothesis algorithm parameter varies.

  • This thesis deals with study and implementation of Fuzzy controller with observer which can enhance the path-tracking performance of optically guided AGV(Automated Guided Vehicle). The AGV in this thesis is differential drive type and has front-side and rear-side optical sensors. which can identify the guiding path. This controller has excellent disturbance rejection and therefore is advantageous when it is instructed to follow straight paths. This fuzzy controller with observer enhances transient performance of the controller is demonstrated by simulation and is compared with that of individual loop controller

  • The paper presents a seam tracking controller of high speed rotating arc sensor developed by microprocessor based system. The seam tracking algorithm is based on the average current value at each interval region of four phase points on one rotating cycle. To remove the noise effect for the measured current, the area during one rotating cycle is separated into four regions of front, rear, left and right. The average values at each region are calculated, using the regional current values and a low pass filter incorporating the moving average and exponential smoothing methods is adopted.

  • This paper proposes a novel computer human interface, named Virtual Wireless Microphone (VWM), which utilizes computer vision and signal processing. It integrates real-time face tracking and sound signal processing. VWM is intended to be used as a speech signal input method for human computer interaction, especially for autonomous intelligent agent that interacts with humans like as digital secretary. Utilizing VWM, the agent can clearly listen human master's voice remotely as if a wireless microphone was put just in front of the master.

  • 함정용 전자광학추적장비 열영상센서부 전면창의 신뢰성 및 성능 개선을 위해 플라즈마 화학기상증착법을 통해 제작되는 DLC 박막을 제안하였다. DLC 박막은 현재 사용되고 있는 실리콘 박막과 비교하여 뛰어난 강도와 낮은 마찰, 화학적 안정성이 우수하며 이로 인해 해상 환경에서 필연적으로 발생하는 열영상센서 전면창의 표면 박리를 최소화할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 본 실험을 통해, DLC 박막이 갖는 물리적 특성을 바탕으로 다양한 전자광학장비에 적용이 가능함을 확인하였다.

  • This paper proposed a fuzzy logic cross coupled controller which can enhance the path tracking performance of optically guided AGV(Automated Guided Vehicle). The AGV follows the guide path, it cannot be avoid the deviation from the path due to the inevitable error and the deviation must be corrected. Optically guided AGV used in industrial area is controlled by On-Off controller generally, the experimental AGV has three optical sensors in front body. In this structure, we could not know the leaving distance accurately and steering angle from the guided line, so AGV could not be controlled properly with conventional controller in the case of increasing or decreasing velocity. If we mount additional sensors the AGV, we could know the leaving distance and steering angle from the guided line and proper error compensating methode can be applied. But because cost of sensors are high, the cost of total system is increasing. So, in this paper, to improve the tracking performance of AGV which has the minimum number of sensors and fuzzy logic cross coupled controller is proposed. Some simulations and experimental results are presented to illustrate the performance of the proposed controller.

  • 내추럴 유저 인터페이스 기술(NUI)의 발달은 게임이나 컴퓨터 사용 및 기타 전자기기 사용법에 일대 변화를 가져오고 있다. 본 논문에서는 스마트 폰 사용자의 얼굴을 식별하고 또한 얼굴 움직임 동작을 감지하여 증강현실을 구현한다. 모바일 기기의 전면 카메라를 이용하여 얼굴의 위치를 Viola-Jones방법을 사용하여 검색하고 검색한 얼굴의 식별 및 움직임 검출을 Eigenface 알고리즘을 사용하며, 식별된 사람에 대응되는 그래픽스 오브젝트를 GPS나 가속도 센서 등의 정보와 후면 카메라의 영상과 함께 합성하는 증강현실 시스템을 구현한다. 증강현실 시스템은 모바일 기기의 성능에 적합한 알고리즘 및 방법으로 구현하여야 한다.

  • Effects of thermal resistance of mold during freezing processes have been investigated. Saturated liquid is chosen to present one-dimensional quasi-steady solution and this solution is compared with numerical solutions. Front tracking finite element method has been applied for the numerical solutions. Results show that mold should be considered as well as phase change material except the cases when the very thin mold with relatively high thermal conductivity is used.
