경수로 핵연료 지지격자체 구조설계에 대한 소고 (Structural Design Considerations on the Spacer Grid Assembly of PWR Nuclear Fuel)

  • A spacer grid, which supports nuclear fuel rods laterally and vertically with a friction grip, is one of the most important structural components in a PWR fuel. The form of grid strap and supporting parts such as grid spring and dimple is known to be closely related with the mechanical/structural performance of spacer grid and nuclear fuel assembly. In this study, reviewing various research results for enhancing the performance of the spacer grid, some structural design considerations and research directions on the spacer grid assembly are suggested for further study.

  • A simplified modeling approach of forced vibration for occupied car seats was demonstrated by using a mathematical model presented in previous paper. Nonlinear and linear equations of motions were rederived for forced vibration, and the transfer function was used to calculate the frequency response function. The experimental apparatus were set up and hydraulic shaker was used to obtain the system responses. Through the tests, mannequin's head had a lot of problems, and the responses with a head and without a head were measured. To explore the effects of linear dampings and friction moments at the joints, linear analyses were performed. New sets of linear spring and damping coefficients, and torsional dampings at the joints were calculated through parameter study to match up with experimental results. Good agreement between experimental and simulation frequency response estimates were obtained both in terms of locations of resonances and system deflection shapes at resonance, indicating that this is a feasible method of modeling seated occupants.

유정압베어링 운동특성의 효과적인 예측을 위한 새로운 유막 해석방법의 개발 (Development of a New Analysis Method of Fluid Film for Efficient Estimate of the Moving Characteristics of Hydrostatic Bearings)

  • Hydrostatic bearings are widely used in precision machines due to their high motion guide accuracy, low friction and high load carrying capacity. It is very useful to estimate the moving characteristics of hydrostatic bearings in the design stage. A new method is suggested for the analysis of fluid film in hydrostatic bearings. A combined mesh of 8 node solid elements with negligible deformation resistance and spring-dashpot elements is used in conjunction with the user subroutine of ABAQUS to represent the fluid film. The mesh can be used to capture the deformation of the bearing structure as well as the varying properties of fluid film. Analysis results from the finite element model are compared with theoretical solutions, results from FLUENT analysis and some previous works. With this method, static and dynamic analyses of the system containing the bearings can be performed efficiently.

현가장치의 비선형성을 고려한 승용차의 승차감 해석 (Ride Quality of a Passenger Car with Nonlinear Suspension System)

  • The nonlinear characteristics of a suspension is directly related to the ride quality of a passenger car. In this study, a dynamic experiment for a spring and a damper of a passenger car is performed to analyze the nonlinear characteristics using MTS 1-axial testing machine and a mathematical nonlinear dynamic suspension model based on experimental data is devised to estimate the ride quality using Billings' method. The devised nonlinear model is applied to the ride quality analysis using K factor and the effect of suspension parameters is examined. As a result, the friction between the cylinder and the piston of a damper is the most effective parameter for the ride quality of a passenger car.

가스 스프링 Elevation 동작 마찰력 보상 변수 조합 연구 (1) (A Combination Study on the Elevation Motion Friction Compensation Parameters in Gas Spring (1))

  • 본 연구에서는, 50인치 이상 대형 텔레비전의 높낮이의 마찰을 줄이기 위한 요인 분석이 실시되었다. 첫째는 피스톤 로드의 정확한 위치 제어를 위한 관형 전단면 제어에 대한 것이다. 여기서 관형 오리피스 전단면과 미로형 오리피스 전단면이 비교되었다. 두 번째 연구는 가스 씰 립 기술에 의한 마찰력 줄이기가 시행되었다. 세 번째는 실린더의 체적의 보상을 위한 주변장치가 피스톤 로드의 체적을 압축함으로서 세부사양을 결정하고 체적 보상 실험을 수행하는 것이다. 이로 인한 연구 결과들은 다음과 같다. 첫째는 CAE 및 실험적 고려를 통한 관형과 미로형 사이의 오리피스 전단면에 있어서, 미로형 오리피스의 전단면이 마찰을 줄이는데 뛰어났다. 둘째는 가스 씰 립 기술에서, 중공 로드의 실험 결과에서 외경 20 mm, 내경 8 mm의 직경을 가지는 것이 30 킬로그램을 가정한 50인치 이상의 텔레비전에 가장 적합한 것으로 확인되었다. 셋째는 사양결정과 체적 보상 실험을 위한 체적 보상의 안전성 문제와 성능의 총체적 고려사항 결과 중공로드 외경 8 mm, 내경 4 mm와 리벳 시스템이 결정되었다. 마지막으로, 300 mm의 이동거리에서는 관형, 미로형 오리피스에 있어 직경 0.4~0.6의 오리피스에서는 미로형 오리피스가 발견되지 않았다.

토션바 트렁크의 팝업량 산포 분석을 위한 해석모델 (Analytical Model for the Analysis of Pop-up Deviation of the Trunk Lid with Torsion Bar)

  • A four-link mechanism consisting of torsion bars is used for opening the trunk lid in most midsize sedans. When the weight of the lid is in equilibrium with the spring force exerted by torsion bars, the lid stops opening at a pop-up height. However, the actual pop-up height has large deviations from the specified height even with the same parts in the same car model, which leads to quality issues. Automotive manufacturers have experienced this deviation problem despite much effort to resolve it. In this research, we developed a multi-body dynamics model for the analysis of pop-up deviation of a trunk lid with torsion bars, which can simulate the actual pop-up motion of the trunk lid by considering kinematic constraints of the motion and friction forces in joints. We could also determine the most important factor that governs the pop-up height by sensitivity analysis of all parts. The developed system can be used for the analysis of other trunk lid systems to control the tolerance of parts.

의복 안감의 역학적 특성 및 태 평가 (A Study on the Mechanical and Hand Properties of the Lining Fabrics)

  • This study is to evaluate the objective sensibility of the commercial lining fabrics. Five kinds of the linings were collected by adding taffetas with four kinds of fibers (polyester, nylon, rayon, and acetate) to one polyester stretch fabric. The six basic mechanical and hand properties were studied by using KES-FB system (Kawabata Evaluation System). The result of measuring the mechanical properties shows that polyester has high bending rigidity (B), that polyester-stretch has a high value of linearity of load-extension curve (LT), tensile energy (WT), tensile resilience (RT), and coefficient of friction (MIU) and a low value of bending rigidity(B), shear property, and geometrical roughness (SMD). The nylon has a high value of bending rigidity (B), shear property, and compression resilience (RC). The rayon has a high value of coefficient of friction (MIU) and linearity of compression-thickness curve (LC) and a low value of shear property, and the acetate has a low value of shear property. The result of hand value shows that polyester, nylon, and acetate are a high value of KOSHI (stiffness), NUMERI (smoothness), and FUKURAM (fullness & softness), and they feel stiff and massive, that rayon has a low value of NUMERI and FUKURAMI. The total result of hand value shows that polyester taffeta and polyester stretch fabric are about the same as the best material for the lining of a woman's dress for spring and summer, and the next thing is acetate, but nylon and rayon are somewhat inferior materials. This provides a fundamental data for the comfortable clothing production of a higher value-added product through the study on the mechanical and hand properties of the lining as well as the right side of fabrics.

산화제 개폐밸브의 힘평형에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Force Balance of a Main Oxidizer shutoff Valve)

  • 산화제 개폐밸브는 일반적으로 공압으로 포핏을 열고 닫음으로써 로켓엔진에 액체산화제유량을 제어한다. 상용되는 산업용 밸브와는 달리 현재 개발 중인 산화제 개폐밸브는 밸브는 효과적인 기밀을 위해 피스톤과 포핏이 접촉되어 있을 뿐, 분리되어 설계되어졌다. 밸브가 닫히는 동안 피스톤과 포핏이 떨어져서 움직이는 것을 피하고, 밸브의 전반적인 작동 성능을 파악하기 위해서 힘평형 해석이 수행되었다. 또한 더욱 정확한 해석을 위해, 마찰력과 포핏에 작용하는 힘을 각각 시험과 CFD 해석을 통해 구해내었다. 해석 결과를 통해 힘평형 해석에서 스프링, 마찰력과 공압부의 오리피스 크기와 같은 중요한 설계인자들의 영향을 알아보았으며, 현재 개발 설계중인 산화제 개폐밸브의 작동성능을 확인하였다.

Highly Reliable Triboelectric Rotational Energy Scavenger

  • Triboelectric nanogenerators (TENG) can produce power from ambient mechanical sources and have strong points of high output performance, light weight, low cost, and easy manufacturing process. It is expected that TENG can be utilized in the fields of wireless electronics and self-powered devices in the world which pays attention to healthcare and the IoT. In this work, we focus on scavenging ambient rotational energy by using a durably designed TENG. In previous studies regarding harvesting rotation mode energy, the devices were based on sliding mechanism and durability was not considered as a major issue. However friction by rotation causes reliability problems due to wear and tear. Therefore, in this study, we convert rotary motion to linear motion utilizing a cam by which we can then utilize contact-mode TENG and improve device reliability. In order to increase output performance, bumper springs were used below the TENG and the optimum value for the bumper spring constant was analyzed theoretically. Furthermore, the inserting a soft substrate was proposed and its effect on high output was determined to be due to an increase in the contact area. By increasing the number of cam noses, the output frequency was shown to increase linearly. For the purpose of maximum power transfer, the input impedance of the device was determined. Finally, to demonstrate the use of the C-TENG as a direct power source, it was installed on a commercial bicycle wheel and connected to 180 LEDs. In conclusion we present a rotational motion TENG energy scavenger system designed for enhanced durability and optimized output by appropriate choice of spring constants and substrate.

원통형 GFRP 개인하수 처리시설의 극한거동에 대한 매개변수해석 (Parametric Analysis on Ultimate Behavior of Cylindrical GFRP Septic Tank)

  • 원통형 GFRP 개인하수 처리시설의 극한거동에 대한 매개변수해석을 수행하였다. 지반을 비선형 스프링으로 대체한 해석모델과 3차원 고체요소를 적용한 두 가지 해석모델이 작성되었다. 보강링의 형태와 지반조건의 변화에 따른 개인하수처리시설의 극한거동이 분석되었다. Ramberg-Osgood 모델과 Druker-Prager 모델이 각각 GFRP 및 지반의 비선형성을 나타내기 위하여 적용되었다. 원통형 개인하수처리시설 내부에 설치된 강관 보강링의 직경과 두께 및 지반 탄성계수 및 내부마찰각 등을 매개변수로 하여 하중-변위 관계, 축방향 변형률 및 후프방향 변형률 등이 유한요소해석을 통하여 도출되었고 여러 매개변수들이 강관으로 보강된 개인하수처리시설의 극한강도에 미치는 영향들이 분석되었다.
