Purpose: This study aims to assess university freshmen's concern of and satisfaction with their health and body and to analyze this in relation to their health habits, thereby aiding university students in forming sound health habits. Method: The subjects of this study were 338 freshmen at A University, located in B City. The questionnaire had 34 questions and the collected data was analyzed with t-test, $x^2$-test, and multiple regressions. Result: The average points of the subjects' health habits were 6.01 for male and 5.65 for female, showing a median range. Concern about health (male 13.63 points, female 13.10 points) and satisfaction with their own body (male 8.26 points, female 7.71 points) showed no significant difference between males and females. Females had more concern about their body (p=.001), and males' satisfaction with health was higher than females', which was statistically significant (p=.0.41). As for factors that have an effect on health habits, male students had health concerns ($\beta$=.395), health satisfaction ($\beta$=.212), and body concerns ($\beta$=-.209), and female students had health concerns ($\beta$=.317) and health satisfaction ($\beta$=.139). Conclusion: University freshmen are likely to have diverse undesirable health habits and therefore need positive improvement in their health habits.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to assess alcohol and caffeine intake and identify the impact of alcohol and caffeine intake on body mass index, alcohol use disorder, and quality of sleep among university students. Methods: This study design was accomplished with a cross sectional survey and conducted from May to June 2014. One hundred and twenty-four freshmen of E university in S city, Korea were selected and evaluated by self-administered questionnaires. Alcohol and caffeine intake were measured by self-reported recall. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, and multiple linear regression. Results: The average amount of alcohol intake was $175.02{\pm}219.97g$ and the proportion of freshmen who took in more than 40 g per day of alcohol was 75%. The average amount of caffeine intake was $116.79{\pm}111.14mg$. Factors influencing alcohol use disorder were dwelling type (t=2.25, p=.027) and alcohol intake (t=8.11, p<.001). And, the factor influencing quality of sleep was caffeine intake (t=3.88, p<.001). Conclusion: In order to reduce the harmful drinking of university students, preventive activities for freshmen are required and efforts on the part of the school needed.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of 'affirmative language' experiment upon freshmen nursing students' negative affect, self-efficacy and stress coping style. Methods: A nonequivalent control quasi-experiment was conducted on the subjects of 55 freshmen nursing students for 26(experimental group) and 29(control group). Data were analyzed using x2-test and t-test for participants' homogeneity test and conducted content analysis of process diary record and personal impressions. Results: As for negative affect, in case of the experimental group, depression(t=-2.384, p=.022) and anxiety(t=-2.243, p=.025) were significantly low with no difference for the control group. As for self-efficacy, both experimental and control groups showed significance and as for stress coping style, the control group used sub-categorized strategies better than the experimental group. There were 4 topics and subsequent 15 topics derived from the content analysis. 'Affirmative language' experiment showed alleviation of depression and anxiety helpful for study participants in self-reporting measurement, and helpful for stress self-management competence. Conclusion: It is necessary to connect the curriculum operation with interest of competence and practice of students stress self-management through the participating experiment experience.

The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe's test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression analysis using IBM SPSS/WIN 28.0 software. Results: The average scores of participants were as follows: personality (4.10±0.41), ego-resilience (3.55±0.62), commitment to career choice (3.36±0.59), and adaptation to college (3.63±0.58). The factors influencing college adaptation were ego-resilience, personality, satisfaction with nursing major, and commitment to career choice. The combined explanatory power of these variables for college adaptation was 64.8%. The data was analyzed by using QUNAL program. Result: The result of the study showed 4 types. Four factors provided an explanation for 71.6% of total variances, and these four factors were analyzed and categorized as four types. We named type 1 as [positive pressure], type 2 as [relational friendly], type 3 as [creative benefit], type 4 as [paticipatory development]. Data collection was carried out for convenience from October 18 to October 31, 2021, targeting 255 freshmen students of the nursing department at universities located in J and G metropolitan cities. The collected data were analyzed by real number, percentage, mean, standard deviation, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis using SPSS 20.0 program. Career preparation behavior showed a positive correlation with major satisfaction, time management, and self-efficacy. As a factor influencing career preparation behavior, time management behavior was the most influential factor, and the total explanatory power was 18.8%. As a result of this study, it is necessary to develop and provide a time management program for nursing students to develop time management skills from freshman.
This study was conducted to investigate the effects of nursing students' self-leadership, humanity, and resilience on college life adaptation. The subjects of this study were 190 freshmen from the Department of Nursing in C city. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-tset, ANOVA, pearson correlation, and multiple regression. As a result, the factors that have a significant influence on the college life adaptation were self-leadership, personality, resilience, school life satisfaction, and the number of friends. Humanity was the most influential factor(β=.659, p<.001) in college life adaptation, followed by self-leadership(β=.274, p=.001), and number of friends(β=.258, p=.003). The explanatory power of the model was 51.2%(F=40.72, p<.001). In addition, there was a high positive correlation between self-leadership, humanity, resilience and college life adaptation. Therefore, it is necessary to apply a program that can help college life adaptation by improving the personality and self-leadership of freshmen in nursing.
The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of Career Education Program(CEP) on freshmen of nursing department. The intervention program was composed of introduction, self-navigation, explore the world of work, career design and termination during 12 weeks from March to June, 2014. Data were collected before-and after program, and analyzed using the SPSS 22.0 program. There were significant increases in learning motivation (t=8.92, p<.001) and college life adaptation (t=3.51, p<.001) in the experimental group compared to the control group.
