  • The transient behavior of the complex-LMS adaptive filter is studied when the adaptive filter is operating on a fixed or sweeping complex frequency sine-wave signal. The first-order difference equation is derived for the mean weights and its closed form solution is obtained. The transient response is represented as a function of the eigenvectors and eigenvalues of input correlation matrix. The mean-square error of the algorithm is evaluated as well. An optimal convergence parameter and filter length can be determined for sweeping frequency sine-wave signals as a function of frequency change rate and signal and noise powers.

  • Frequency and phasor are the most important quantities in power system operation. Frequency reflects the dynamic energy balance between load and generating power. To estimate of power system frequency, an accurate digital tracking algorithm by using phasor angle difference is presented. For an evaluation of the proposed technique, simulations by EMTP have been performed. Test results were showed the algorithm's accuracy under the effect of noise and changes in frequency and amplitude on the input signal.

외부공진형 광주파수가변 레이저를 이용한 실시간 광섬유 케이블의 미세 진동 측정 연구 (Real-time Subtle Vibration Sensing of Optical Fiber Cable based on External-cavity Frequency-swept Laser)

  • In this paper, we developed a fiber optic interferometer system based on frequency-swept laser. This frequency-swept laser with an external-cavity structure can generate a high coherent light with a linewidth of 132 kHz at 1552 nm. It also shows a superior swept linearity of R2 = 0.99995 under repetition rate of 200 kHz due to absence of mechanical moving parts in the laser cavity. By using a piezoelectric fiber optic stretcher, various vibration experiments were implemented, such as 0.5 to 2.0 kHz vibration signals with intervals of 0.5 kHz, with a sampling rate of 7 kHz. Real-time peak tracking can be successfully recovered according to the applied vibration frequency with high linearity of R2 = 0.99983.

밀리미터파 추적레이더 송·수신 구성품의 적용성 검증을 위한 신호획득장치 개발 (Development of a Signal Acquisition Device to Verify the Applicability of Millimeter Wave Tracking Radar Transmission and Receiving Components)

  • 최근 추적레이더는 다양한 환경에서 높은 해상도로 표적의 정보를 획득하기 위한 밀리미터파 추적레이더의 개발을 요구한다. 밀리미터파 추적레이더의 개발은 밀리미터파 추적레이더에 적용할 수 있는 송·수신 구성품의 개발과 동시에 추적레이더의 적용성을 필요로 한다. 개발된 송·수신 구성품의 적용성을 검증하기 위해서는 추적레이더의 운용개념을 적용한 송·수신 구성품을 제어하고, 상태를 확인할 수 있는 신호획득장치의 개발을 요구한다. 본 논문에서는 밀리미터파 추적레이더를 위해 개발된 구성품의 적용성을 확인할 수 있는 신호획득장치를 설계하였다. 구현한 신호획득장치는 수신신호를 검증하기 위해 4채널에서 입력되는 OOOMHz의 중심주파수와 OOOMHz 대역폭의 신호를 실시간으로 처리하기를 요구한다. 또한 추적레이더의 운용개념을 적용한 구성품 제어는 RS422, RS232, SPI 통신과 송수신구간 제어신호 생성으로 제어를 할 수 있도록 설계하였다. 마지막으로 신호획득장치 성능시험으로 구현한 신호획득장치를 검증하였다.

나노 가이드 시스템에서 초기 변위의 영향에 관한 연구 (Effect of an initial displacement on a nano-guiding system)

  • This study shows that the system performance of a positioning system composed of a piezoelectric actuator-driven flexure guide depends largely on the preload applied on the flexure guide and the driving input amplitude. We used a flexure guided system that had an original resonant frequency of 54Hz. Our experiment showed that we could increase the driving bandwidth above the original resonant frequency, for a case involving a large preload and a small input amplitude. Results show that there is a specific 'separation frequency' where the response of the moving mass of the flexure system decouples from the response oi the piezoelectric actuator, and this specific separation frequency can be selected by a proper choice of the preload and the input amplitude. To find the separation frequency, sine sweep tests were performed. To confirm the increased system bandwidth frequency, open-loop sine tracking experiments were performed. Test results show that the system responds very well up to 130 Hz frequency higher than the original natural frequency (54Hz).

시선의 도약거리 추출 기법과 공간탐색 특성 - 백화점 스포츠 매장 공간을 대상으로 - (The Saccades Distance Extraction Technique of Sight and the Spatial search Characteristics - Target Department Sports Store Space -)

  • This research is about the characteristics of the saccades that occurring in the process of observing the spatial. The size of the saccades is the visual activity for acquiring the information, and the search trace that left by the spatial visitor. Reviewed over the saccade through the analysis of observation process that appeared in the eye-tracking experiment of sports store from the department store, the saccade is defined as the sight movement in the process of finding a component to view in the spatial. If some spatial component induces saccade, and able to know which specific component acquired through the saccade, then the designer will have a clue which able to provide the spatial desired by the consumer. The results of analyzing the process in the deriving the spatial component and saccade characteristic from industrial space, can be summarised as follows. The first, the average fixed number of [IN].[OUT] zone appeared similarly, and it leads to knowing that the time used for attention with one frequency is about 0.3 seconds. Second, there were more saccades toward [$IN{\rightarrow}OUT$] (13 persons, 76.5%) than [$OUT{\rightarrow}IN$] (4 persons, 23.5%). The Los Angeles area has lots of interesting things to watch, so it able to thinks to begins with small saccade and then occur to bigger saccade activity to find new interests shortly after [OUT] saccade. Third, according to time range changes, keep eyes on the characteristics of saccade, [IN].[OUT] frequency has slightly decreased the changes of viewing time, but there was no significant change in an average number of observations. This means that the frequency and the number of observations are decreased together. Therefore, it can be seen that the amount of information to be acquired (frequency) is decreased (count) as the observation time elapses.

A 1.248 Gb/s - 2.918 Gb/s Low-Power Receiver for MIPI-DigRF M-PHY with a Fast Settling Fully Digital Frequency Detection Loop in 0.11 ㎛ CMOS

  • This paper presents a 1.248 Gb/s - 2.918 Gb/s low-power receiver MIPI-DigRF M-PHY with a fully digital frequency detection loop. MIPI-DigRF M-PHY should be operated in a very short training time which is $0.01{\mu}s$ the for HS-G2B mode. Because of this short SYNC pattern, clock and data recovery (CDR) should have extremely fast locking time. Thus, the quarter rate CDR with a fully digital frequency detection loop is proposed to implement a fast phase tracking loop. Also, a low power CDR architecture, deserializer and voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) are proposed to meet the low power requirement of MIPI-DigRF M-PHY. This chip is fabricated using a $0.11{\mu}m$ CMOS process, and the die area is $600{\mu}m{\times}250{\mu}m$. The power consumption of the receiver is 16 mW from the supply voltage of 1.1 V. The measured lock time of the CDR is less than 20 ns. The measured rms and peak jitter are $35.24ps_{p-p}$ and $4.25ps_{rms}$ respectively for HS-G2 mode.

직접 변환 수신기에서 Early-Late 위상 보상기를 사용한 위상 오차 보정 (Phase Offset Correction using Early-Late Phase Compensation in Direct Conversion Receiver)

  • 최근 무선통신시스템에서 직접변환 트랜시버 또는 IF 샘플링 SDR 기반 수신기가 일반적인 트랜시버 구조에 상응하여 설계되어지고 있다. 일반적인 AFC/APC 보상 회로가 기저 대역에서 RF 입력 신호와 국부발진 신호의 주파수 및 위상 오차를 보정할지라도 직접변환 수신 구조에서는 주요한 열화요소로 작용한다. 일반적인 보상 회로의 제한적인 동작 영역과 기저 대역에서의 1/Q 채널의 불평형을 용이하게 보상할 수 있도록 RF 입력 신호단에서 주파수 및 위상 오차를 보정하는 방법을 본 논문에서 제안한다. RF 입력단에서 고정된 주파수 및 위상 오차 이외에 변화하는 주파수 및 위상 오차를 제안된 early-late 보상기에 의해 효과적으로 보상할 수 있다. RF 입력단에서의 주파수 및 위상 오차의 보정으로 직접변환 수신기의 기저 대역에서의 기존 주파수 및 위상 오차 보정 회로는 간단히 설계할 수 있으며 미세한 오차 보정 구조로 용이하게 이용할 수 있다.
