  • As the technical aspect of the web system development is, unlike the existing main frame or client/server environment, greatly influenced by the dynamic and variable factors and carried out in a comparatively short period, practical and efficient process to which the developer may adapt with ease is very much required for the web system development. However, while the technological substitute, language and architecture composition have been much discussed, in connection with web system development growing rapidly, standardized development process and its deliverables have been rarely discussed. This thesis analyzes problems of the existing web system development processes and as the substitutes for them, proposes web system development process based on the domain features derived from the concepts of iteration and increment. For the classification of domains, five domains in total are set by interlocking web system factors and web site types and the workflows for two domains applied to projects are incorporated focused on work content and deliverables. The proposed process applies to the development of intranet system and is compared with the existing web development processes by the measure classified into components and elements.

Automatic Adaptive Algorithm to Optimize OFDMA Initial Ranging Contention Process (OFDMA 초기 레인징 경쟁 프로세스의 최적화를 위한 자동적응형 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we work for the efficient use of the initial ranging contention slot in OFDMA based wireless mobile networks. Specially, the collision reduction method using an automatic adaptive optimal algorithm is studied for initial ranging contention slot used at initial connection of the mobile terminals. As a result, we propose the algorithm that achieves the collision minimization and the auto-dynamic slot arrangement of the initial ranging slots. To evaluate the proposed algorithm, we compare the simulation results of IEEE802.16e fixed initial ranging slot allocation method versus the proposed algorithm. The simulator is developed based on the IEEE802.16e standard MAC frame structure and processing procedures. As the simulation results, we can expect the proposed algorithm can be applied for the unmanned coastal base station because the proposed algorithm has the effect of minimizing administration cost for the base station.

  • Tower crane (T/C) is one of the major equipment that is highly demanded in construction projects. Especially, most high-rise building projects require T/C to perform lifting and hoisting activities of materials. Therefore, lifting plan of T/C needs to reduce construction duration and cost. However, most lifting plan of the T/C in construction sites has still performed depending on experience and intuition of the site manager without systematic process of rational work. Dependency structure matrix (DSM) is useful tool in planning the activity sequences and managing information exchanges unlike other existing tools. To improve lifting plan of T/C efficiently, this study presents a framework for the scheduling T/C using DSM through the case study in real world construction site. The results of case study showed that the scheduling T/C using DSM is useful to optimize the T/C lifting plan in terms of easiness, specially in the typical floor cycle lifting planning.

Method for 3D Visualization of Sound Data (사운드 데이터의 3D 시각화 방법)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide a method to visualize the sound data to the three-dimensional image. The visualization of the sound data is performed according to the algorithm set after production of the text-based script that form the channel range of the sound data. The algorithm consists of a total of five levels, including setting sound channel range, setting picture frame for sound visualization, setting 3D image unit's property, extracting channel range of sound data and sound visualization, 3D visualization is performed with at least an operation signal input by the input device such as a mouse. With the sound files with the amount an animator can not finish in the normal way, 3D visualization method proposed in this study was highlighted that the low-cost, highly efficient way to produce creative artistic image by comparing the working time the animator with a study presented method and time for work. Future research will be the real-time visualization method of the sound data in a way that is going through a rendering process in the game engine.

Semi-Analytical Averaged Error Rate Evaluation for DSF-Relay MC-CDMA systems over Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channels (다중경로 레일리 페이딩 채널에 대한 DSF 릴레이 MC-CDMA 시스템의 평균 오류율 의사 분석 기법)

  • In this paper, a semi-analytical approach is proposed for DSF(Decode and Selective Forward)-Relay MC-CDMA(MultiCarrier-Code Division Multiple Access) systems over multipath Rayleigh fading channels. Considering BER(bit error rate) performance and complexity, the MMSE-C(Minimum Mean squared Error-per subCarrier) is used as the combining method for MC-CDMA systems. At first, the analytical method based on error-events at relay nodes for DSF-Relay schemes is utilized in order to derive the averaged BER. Then, the averaged BER is expressed as the form considering possible all error-events. Also, proposed semi-analytical expressions have been verified by comparing with simulation results. Finally, it is verified that the derived analytical expressions can be a frame work to cover different multipath Rayleigh fading channel conditions and to measure the upper performance for DSF-Relay MC-CDMA systems.

A Study on the Repair Method for Performance Degradation Cause of Korean Arch Bridge -Focused on the Seonamsa Seungseonggyo, Songgwangsa Geukrockgyo- (홍예교 성능저하 원인에 따른 보수방안 고찰 - 선암사 승선교·송광사 극락교를 중심으로 -)

  • This study considers the proper repair techniques by examining the most representative repair cases of the Korean arch bridges and proposes the constructional manual which can apply similar occasions. The cases are Seonamsa Seungseongyo and Songgwangsa Geukrockgyo where this researcher had taken part in the repair works. This Study proposes the maintenance construction manual about the performance degradation drew by performance degradation of the both Korean arch bridges in the maintenance process. First, arch bridge maintenance should be carried out in the dry season, when water is impermeable in the bottom surface of the bridge. Moreover, risk factors of the maintenance should be excluded to secure the water vally flow, the bypass and the temporary bridge. Second, prior to repair, it has to precede (1)3D shooting (2)formal examination (3)structure safety test (4)geological and lithic surveys (5)arch curvature establishment and makeshift frame settlement before transformation (6)relationship expert comments. Third, if the baduk and the foundation stones are inevitable to replace due to performance degradation on the foundation, it should use the high quality stones and secure greater stress by extending the standard range. The foundation on irregular rock needs to be flattened and underside on the replaced materials require Grengyijil to deliver the equal loads. Fourth, In the process of dismantling the stones of the arched bridge, it could make heavy weathering degree and not reuse the materials. Charge should converge the expert advices to choose the reuseable, the conservate and the alternative materials, and increase the reutilization of the raw materials by preservation and reinforcement treatments. Fifth, the side wall should be repaired by the rubble work technique which is not able to pile compost satiety, so it must use long depth of masonary stones for reinforcement. It is considered to reinforce the stone wall in shore as much as possible and protect the abutment and the side wall on the upstream for the arch bridge maintenance works.

  • The diffusion of new technology has traditionally focused on the adoption perspective. Researchers refer this use-diffusion paradigm to behaviors of use after adoption. This study intends to analyse the influential factors of use-diffusion and continual use of website and applications in medical service. To achieve this a use-diffusion model as a conceptual frame work is suggested. Medical information quality, personal innovativeness and subjective norm are assumed as antecedent variables medical website and application's rate of use, variety of use, and continued use intention as result variables. According to the empirical study results medical information quality, web based application usability, personal innovativeness, and subjective norm have a meaningful influence on medical service consumer's use-diffusion patterns. Also pattern of use influences the continued use intention. This study provides an opportunity to understand medical service consumer's behavior after website and application use adoption and suggests further directions for establishing medical service online marketing strategy by determining influential factors of use-diffusion and continued use of medical online marketing tools.

Experimental and analytical investigation on seismic behavior of RC framed structure by pushover method

  • Pushover analysis has gained significant popularity as an analytical tool for realistic determination of the inelastic behaviour of RC structures. Though significant work has been done to evaluate the demands realistically, the evaluation of capacity and realistic failure modes has taken a back seat. In order to throw light on the inelastic behaviour and capacity evaluation for the RC framed structures, a 3D Reinforced concrete frame structure was tested under monotonically increasing lateral pushover loads, in a parabolic pattern, till failure. The structure consisted of three storeys and had 2 bays along the two orthogonal directions. The structure was gradually pushed in small increments of load and the corresponding displacements were monitored continuously, leading to a pushover curve for the structure as a result of the test along with other relevant information such as strains on reinforcement bars at critical locations, failure modes etc. The major failure modes were observed as flexural failure of beams and columns, torsional failure of transverse beams and joint shear failure. The analysis of the structure was by considering all these failure modes. In order to have a comparison, the analysis was performed as three different cases. In one case, only the flexural hinges were modelled for critical locations in beams and columns; in second the torsional hinges for transverse beams were included in the analysis and in the third case, joint shear hinges were also included in the analysis. It is shown that modelling and capturing all the failure modes is practically possible and such an analysis can provide the realistic insight into the behaviour of the structure.

  • Our research is aimed at developing an architectural frame-work of USN sensor network discovery service systems. The research is fo-cused on the four areas a survey of USN technology, development of a USN software model, development of the design space of the USN sensor network discovery service, and finally the architectural framework of the USN sensor network dicovery service. The survey of the USN technology is conducted on four technological visions that contain USN system technology, USN networking technology, and USN middleware along with the service platform, With respect to each technological division, domestic and worldwide leading research projects are primarily explored with their technical features and research projects are primarily explored with their technical features and research output To provide a means to analyze sensor network discovery services, we devel-oped the design space of the sensor network discovery services by exploring the scalability with respect to query scope, lookup performance, and resolution network.

  • Within the frame of the MERCOSUR (South Common Market), one of the most important goals to achieve by its member states is a better cost effective international cargo transportation system. For this purpose the project of developing a commercial waterway linking the east region of Uruguay with the south of Brazil has been under study for a number of years now. Because of the high costs involved on the development of such waterway, the project has been indefinitely delayed. It is our intention to show an alternative way to reduce the present obstacles by using a budget oriented approach in order to determine the vessel best suited to use on the proposed waterway. So far, every study related to the project has been focused on the amount of work needed to modify the environment in order to accommodate the hardware already available in the region. The conclusions show that the cost of opening and maintaining the required navigation channel is high enough to discourage investment; the added responsibility to take care of any environmental damage incurred during the building and/or operation of the waterway makes searching for a less costly and hazardous option an interesting challenge. The proposed terminal on the Cebollat? River would be located at the heart of the Uruguayan rice growing region. Uruguay exports 90% of its rice production, being Brazil its biggest buyer. Wood chips and clinker are the other types of cargo considered to use the proposed waterway in route to either Brazil or to overseas destinations through the deep water port of Rio Grande. Through the analysis of local data by a Geographical Information System, international regulations regarding inland waterways and shallow draught vessel characteristics, we seek to propose a cost efficient alternative to apply on this particular scenario.
