The core aim of this paper is to empirically scrutinize a strength characteristic and ductility of the beam-column frame of reinforced with steel subjected to the cyclic lateral load. First and foremost, I the author embarks upon making four prototypes vis-$\grave{a}$-vis this research. Through this endeavour, the author has analysed cyclic behavior, fracture shape, ductility and energy dissipation of the normal beam-column frame and a beam-column frame of reinforced with steel. In addition, the survey has revealed the exact stress transfer path and the destructive mechanism in order to how much a beam-column frame of reinforced with steel has resistance to earthquake regarding all types of building, as well as school construction. To get the correct data, the author has compared the normal beam-column frame and three types of the beam-column frame of reinforced with steel following these works, the characteristic of cyclic behavior, destructive mechanism, ductility, and Energy dissipation of normal beam-column frame and a beam-column frame of reinforced with steel have been examined clearly.
Adhesive-bonded joints are widely used in the industry. Recently aircraft applications of adhesive bonding joints have been increased extensively in automobile and air industry. Because adhesives which are available for structural applications have been developed a lot and understanding of adhesive bonding has been improved so much. In this study, as the fundamental research of design of adhesive bonding joints, this study considers specimen shape are affect strength and durability of Al/Polymer lap joints. In this research, cross head speed difference were concerned to evaluate their effects on the adhesive strength. Cross head speed makes a change 0.05mm/min, 0.5mm/min, 5mm/min. The result is load-displacement diagram showed brittleness fracture tendency. Fracture tendency that is shown enough on stress distribution of trigonal single lap joint and trigonal edged single lap joint occur the inside of adhesive.
Purpose: The inferior orbital wall is the most vulnerable to injury and inadequate reconstruction of inferior orbital fracture result in postoperative complications include enophthalmos, ocular dystopia and diplopia. Although the anatomical reconstruction of the inferior orbital wall is necessary to prevent these complications, the complexity of inferior orbital wall makes it difficult. We fabricated and remodeled the titanium micro-mesh plate for the anatomical reconstruction of inferior orbital wall. Methods: Twenty-nine patients with inferior orbital wall blow-out fracture were operated and twelve of them presented large extensive fracture. We intraoperatively fabricated and remodeled the Titanium-micro mesh to angulated lazy S shape similar to contralateral uninjured orbit. The preoperative and postoperative facial CT scan verified the 3-dimensional and anatomical reconstruction of the fractures. The mean follow-up was 19.7 months and postoperative complications was evaluated. Results: All cases showed the exact anatomical reconstruction, but there were minor complications in two cases. one patient had postoperative diplopia until 3months after surgery and the other patient had persistent enophthalmos (2 mm), but no further surgical correction was required. Conclusion: The comprehensive understanding of orbital convexity is the most important factor for anatomical reconstruction of inferior orbital fracture. We could prevent postoperative complications after inferior orbital wall reconstruction by intraoperative fabrication and anatomical remodeling of Titanium micro-mesh.
The LBB (Leak Before Break) concept is based on evaluating the fracture toughness. NUREG 1061, Vol.3 announced that the specimen for evaluating fracture resistance needs to have same thickness or thicker than pipe. Therefore, it is difficult to collect specimen from pipe which has same thickness as a pipe. So, ASTM standard suggested the use of standard specimen with 1 inch thickness. However, it has been known that an application of LBB by test results of standard specimen is conservative compare with that by real pipe. In this study, to supplement such conservatism, the evaluation of fracture resistance characteristics was performed with curved CT specimen, which has same thickness and curvature as a pipe. In addition, fracture resistance characteristics of curved CT specimen were compared with those of CT specimen. For this, shape factor F, hpl and g were obtained from FEM analysis using the limit load method.
The recent 3D printing technology is used in various medical, manufacturing, and education fields and is more efficient in terms of production process, time, and cost than existing production. Especially in fracture surgery, interest and research have been focused on improving accuracy, shortening of operation time and recovery time, and reducing reoperation. However, because of the financial and technical problems of the 3D printer and the file conversion program, the 3D printing is made directly at the hospital, and it is not generally used for diagnosis of fracture and surgical research. In this study, to solve those problems, clavicle CT imaging was switched into Osirix Open Source DICOM Viewer, Stereolithography file conversion programs and commercial Terarecon 3D DICOM Viewer, file conversion programs, and then clavicle fracture model was directly made through 3D printer of fused filament fabrication wire additive processing method, and then the accuracy of the shape was compared and analyzed. Clavicle fracture models printed in two methods were blind-tested on clinicians of general hospitals' orthopedics and radiologic technicians with over 10 years of experiences, and then their analysis opinions of resolution reviews were analyzed. The result showed no difference. The 3D printing model with open source DICOM STL file conversion program used was applicable to clinical, so it is considered useful in precision diagnosis of fracture and operation plans.
Background: The zygomaticomaxillary complex (ZMC) has a protruded, convex shape and plays a vital role in determining the contour by affecting the width of the middle face. This study aimed to evaluate the efficiency of ZMC fracture reduction and explore detailed directions for outcome improvement. Methods: We conducted a retrospective study of patients diagnosed with unilateral ZMC fracture who underwent ZMC reduction surgery at a single hospital between January 2015 and May 2020. The primary outcome variable was facial asymmetry using the difference in the bilateral malar eminence (ME) position measured by computed tomography scan. The 3-dimensional distance (IA, asymmetry index) and the distance in each dimension, Dx (anteroposterior distance), Dy (mediolateral distance), and Dz (superoinferior distance) were compared. Results: A total of 101 patients with ZMC fractures and 54 non-fracture patients were enrolled in the study. The mean age of the study sample was 43.49 years (control sample, 43.35 years), and the male-to-female ratio was 66.3:33.7 (control sample, 64.8:35.2). There were 53 and 48 patients with right and left ZMC fractures, respectively. The IA was not statistically different between the two groups. In terms of position in each dimension, only Dx was significantly different between the two groups. Conclusion: The results show that overall facial asymmetry was recovered after ZMC reduction, but in certain dimension significant difference in ME position has still remained. For further improvement, treatment should be performed to relieve malar depression in the anteroposterior dimension.
Purpose: Recently, orbital wall fracture is common injuries in the face. Facial CT is essential for the accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment to reconstruct of the orbital wall. The objective of this study was to report the method for accurate measurement of area and shape of the bony defect in the blow-out fractures using facial CT in prior to surgery. Methods: The authors experienced 46 cases of orbital wall fractures and examined for diplopia, sensory disturbance in the area of distribution of the infraorbital nerve, and enophthalmos in the preoperation and followed 1 months after surgery, from August 2007 to May 2008. Bony defect was predicted by measuring continuous defect size from 3 mm interval facial CT. Copying from the defect model (template), we reconstructed orbital wall with resorbable sheet (Inion $CPS^{(R)}$ Inion Oy, Tampere, Finland). Results: One months after surgery using this method, 26 (100%) of the 26 patients improved in the diplopia and sensory disturbance in the area of distribution of the infraorbital nerve. Also 8 (72.7%) of the 11 patients had enophthalmos took favorable turn. Conclusion: This accurate and time-saving method is practicable for determining the location, shape and size of the bony defect. Using this method, we can reconstruct orbital wall fracture fastly and precisely.
The shape of edge cracking in rolling process generally occurred "V" shape. This cracking is successively generated at width edge of strip. The edge cracking is developed to center of strip during rolling process. In the results, the strip is occurred fracture, and the productivity is gone down because of the extensive production time. Accordingly, we need to control crack propagation during rolling process. But, the control of cracking is very difficult in rolling process. Previously the studies of edge cracking were mainly performed on hot rolling process. In this paper, the shape of the edge cracking in rolling was estimated according to process conditions such as initial edge crack size, reduction ratio and tension using FE-simulation and the simplicity experiments on cold rolling process.
