The building design projects which are being proceeded nowadays pursue a complex and various shape of structures, escaping from the traditional and regular shape of buildings. In this new trend of the architecture, there rises a demand of the research in the structural engineering for the effective realization of such complex-shaped buildings which disassembles the orthogonality of frames. As a distinguished characteristics of the buildings in a complex-shape, there frequently are inclined columns included in the structural frame. The inclined column causes extra axial force and bending moment at the beam-column connection so it is necessary to assess those effects on the structural behavior of the frame and the connection by experiment or analysis. However, with comparing to the studies on the normal beam-column connections, the inclined column connections have not been studied sufficiently. Therefore, this study evaluated the beam-column connections having an inclined column using nonlinear and finite element analysis method. In this paper, steel moment frames having inclined columns were analyzed by the nonlinear pushover analysis to check the global behavior and beam-column connection models were analyzed by the finite element analysis to check the buckling behavior and the fracture potentials.

Patients who admitted earlier showed more improvement in symptoms and also discharged earlier.
The flourite in Hwacheon, Hwanggangri and Keumsan district are major fluorite producing areas in Korea. The fluorite deposits of Hwacheon district are wholly fissure filling hydrothermal veins embedded in Precambrian gneiss and schists and Jurassic granites. Also some fluorite deposits are emplaced in felsite whose age is unknown. Emplacement of most fluorite veins of the district are controlled by EW fracture system. Fluorites are generally accompanied to chalcedonic quartz and also kaolinite, montmorillonite, dickite and calcite in parts. Vertical and lateral mineral zonings are not distinct. The fluorite deposits in the Hwanggangri district are wholly embedded in limestone and other calcareous sediments of Paleozoic Yeongweol Group. Most of the fluorite deposits belong to one of two categories which are steeply. dipping veins and gently dipping replacement deposits adjacent to Late Cretaceous(83-90mys) granite bodies. The strikes of fluorite veins of Hwanggangri district mostly occupy the fractures of $N30^{\circ}-40^{\circ}E$ and $N30^{\circ}-40^{\circ}W$ system. Fluorites are accompanied to calcite, milky quartz, chalcedonic quartz, and also montmorillonite, kaolinite in parts. But in some deposits, scheelite, various sulfide minerals and barite are accompanied. Emplacement of fluorite deposits are largely controlled by lithology and structures of this district. In some deposits fluorite veins gradate to scheelite veins and also telescoping of the mineral zones are found in this district. In the Keumsan district, fissure-filled fluorite veins and replacement deposits are mostly emplaced in limestone of Paleozoic Yeongweol Group, late Cretaceous quartz-porphyry, granite and sandstone. Some deposits are emplaced in Precambrian metasediments. Mineralogy and other characteristics of the deposits in this district is similar to those of Hwanggangri district. Fluid inclusion studies reveal the difference of salinities, $CO_2$ contents of ore fluid and temperatures during fluorite mineral deposition in the these districts. In Hwacheon district, ore-fluids were comparatively dilute brine and low $CO_2$ content. Filling temperatures ranges $104^{\circ}C$ to $170^{\circ}C$. In the Chuncheonshinpo mine, most deeply exploited one in this district, salinitles range 0.5-2. 2wt. % NaCl and filling temperatures range from $116^{\circ}C$ to $143^{\circ}C$. In the Hwanggangri district, ore fluids were complex and filling temperature ranges very widly. In the contact metasomatic fluorite deposits, ore fluid were NaCl rich brines with moderate $CO_2$ content and filling temperatures range from $285^{\circ}C$ to above $360^{\circ}C$. Fluids inclusions in tungsten and sulfide minerals bearing fluorite veins show high $CO_2$ content up to 31wt. %. Filling temperature ranges from $101^{\circ}C$ to $310^{\circ}C$. Fluids inclusions In mainly fluorite bearing veins were more dilute brine and low $CO_2$ contents. Filling temperatures range from $95^{\circ}C$ to $312^{\circ}C$. Filling temperature of fluid inclusions of Keumsan district are between $95^{\circ}C$ and $237^{\circ}C$. Data gathered from geologic, mineralogic and fluid inclusion studies reveal that fluorite mineralization in H wacheon district proceeded at low temperature with dilute brine and low $CO_2$ content. In Hwangganri district, fluorite mineralization proceeded by several pulse of chemically distinct ore fluids and formed the mineralogically different type of deposits around cooling granite pluton which emplaced comparatively shallow depth.

It is well known that the aluminizing steel is excellent in corrosion resistance and heat resistance. Therefore it has been used as boiler parts, heat exchanger parts and guide rails which are used under comparatively simple conditions. Recently, it has been noticed that aluminizing steel has high resistance to various atmosphere, high temperature oxidation and seawater resistance. So its usage has been extended widely to the production of parts such as intake and exhaust valve of internal combustion engine, turbine blade and pipelines On ships which required such properties. It is considered that aluminium coated steel is excellent in wear resistance because of high hardness on main ingredient FezAIs of Fe-AI alloy layer existed in diffusion coating layer. And it will beused as a new material taking wear resitance with seawater resistance in marine field. However it is difficult to findout any report concering the wear behaviors or properties of alum in izing steel. In this study the experiment was carried out under the condition of rolling-sliding contact using an Amsler-type wear testing machine at 0.80, 0.91, 1. 10, 1. 25% of slip ratio and 55.43, 78.38, 110.85 kg/mm^2 of Hertz's contact stress in run-in period for the purpose of service-ability test of aluminizing steel as a wear resisting material and obtaining the available design data. The followings are the obtained results from the experimen tal study; 1) The 2nd diffusion material has most excellent wear resistance. This material has brought out about 18% decrease of wear weight in a lower friction load level and 40~G decrease in a higher level comparing to the raw material. 2) Satisfactory effect of wear resistivity cannot be much expected in 2nd diffusion specimens. This is considered due to the formation of fine void in the alloy layer near the boundary to the aluminium layer. 3) Fracture on friction surface of aluminizing steel by the rolling-sliding contact is spalling, and spalling crack occurres initially beneath the specimen surface near the boundary in diffusion coating layer.

New warheads are designed and developed to be highly lethal when used as part of ballistic missile payloads. There are many trades associated with the design of a central warhead core, mainly dealing with the projectiles or penetrators. Obviously, a payload-type configuration is very susceptible to kills from one projectile because of the high impacts required for bomblet or submunition payloads. Based on these requirements, the optimum kill vehicle configuration will have the smallest mass and relative velocity that will kill all the submunitions. The designs of the penetrator shape and size are directly related to the space and weight of the warhead. The shape, size, L/D, penetrator material, and manner in which they are inserted inside the surrounding explosive segments are critical in achieving successful penetrator design. The AUTODYN-3D code was used to study the effect of penetrator penetration. The objective of numerical analysis was to determine the penetration characteristics of the penetrator produced by hypervelocity impacts under different initial conditions such as initial velocity, shape, and L/D of the penetrator.
In this research, we attempt to fabricate an excellent CFRC(Carbon Fiber Reinforced Carbon), which has good thermal and mechanical properties, with 8H/satin woven fabric prepreg, high modulus and high strength type continuous carbon fiber and raw coal tar pitch(RCTP) matrix or THF soluble fraction(THFSP) matrix which has good graphitizability. Green bodies were fabricated with hot press molding technique and CFRC samples were made after carbonization, impregnation, recarbonization and graphitization steps. For the purpose of characterization of the physical properties, SEM, polarized light microscope, TGA were observed, and tested flexural strength, modulus and ILSS. After heat treating the THFSP matrix up to $2300^{\circ}C$, the value of $C_0$/2 was 3.380$\AA$, which is analogous to the structure of natural graphite and the value of 2$\theta$ is $26.276^{\circ}$ approached to the Bragg's angle of natural graphite. As a result of TGA to test the high temperature air oxidation, the THFSP matrix, graphitized up to $2300^{\circ}C$, exhibited the best air oxidation resistance. And mechanical properties were increased up to 65~70% as fiber volume fraction increased. Because of the good orientation graphitizability, the fracture surface of THFSP matrix CFRC is very good.
Three kinds of $Al_3Ti-Cr$ alloys, namely, $Al_{67}Ti_{25}Cr_8,\;Al_{66}Ti_{24}Cr_{10}\;and\;Al_{59}Ti_{26}Cr_{15}$, were prepared by induction melting followed by the thermomechanical treatment. The corrosion behavior in 3.5% NaCl solution and the high-temperature oxidation behavior at 1000, 1100 and $1200^{\circ}C$ for the prepared alloys were investigated. Electrochemical results indicated increased resistance to localized corrosion with increasing Cr content. Cr additions were found to prevent passive film from undergoing brittle fracture. XPS results revealed the passive films of $Al_3Ti-Cr$ alloys were composed mainly of $Al_2O_3$ that coexisted with $TiO_2$ and $Cr_2O_3$. The overall oxidation resistance of the prepared alloys were excellent. Specifically, the oxidation resistance increased in the order of $Al_{59}Ti_{26}Cr_{15},\;Al_{66}Ti_{24}Cr_{10}\;and\;Al_{67}Ti_{25}Cr_8$. As the Al content in the base alloys increased, the $Al_2O_3$ formation was facilitated leading to the increased oxidation resistance.

Tests and analyses were performed in this study to assess the shear strength of Reinforced Concrete(RC) members strengthened by the Near Surface Mounted(NSM) technique in shear, which is drawing attention as an alternative to the Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer(CFRP) bonding strengthening technique. Four-point bending tests were performed on 7 RC specimens without any shear reinforcement. The test variables such as the inclination of CFRP strip (45 degrees and 90 degrees), and the spacing of CFRP strip (250mm, 200mm, 150mm, 100mm) were considered. Through the testing scenarios, the effect of each test variable on the failure mode and the shear strength of the RC members strengthened by the NSM technique in shear were assessed. The test results show that the specimens with CFRP strips at 45 degrees go to failure as a result of the strip fracture, but the specimens with CFRP strips at 90 degrees go to failure as a result of the slip of strips. Strips at 45 degrees was the more effective than strips at 90 degrees, not only in terms of increasing beam shear resistance but also in assuring larger deformation capacity at beam failure. In addition, the RBSN analysis appropriately predicted the crack formation and the load-displacement response of the RC members strengthened by the NSM technique in shear.
Flexion of a metal/ceramic fixed partial denture(EPD) frameworks under function can cause fracture of porcelain or deterioration of the cement seal. This study evaluated the flexion characteristics of three-unit mandibular FPD frameworks, repacing the second pre-molar under compressive load(200g, 400g). Testing was accompished with real-time holographic interferometry, using 6 porcelain fused-to metal frameworks. Tested alloys were non-precious alloy(Heracles, Holland), semi-precious alloy(Degudent U, Germany) and precious alloy(Degudent H, Germany). Changes of the fringe patterns according to the heat treatment(porcelain firing cycle), various loads(200g, 400g), occlusal forms(occlusal porcelain veneering, facial porcelain veneering), various alloys and post-soldering units were compared. Dental study model(Nissan dental products, Inc. D51DP-500A, Japan) and six 3-unit metal/ceramic fixed partial denture frameworks were used as experimental materials. 36 holograms were taken on fixed dental study model by using the 10mW He-Ne laser and real-time holographic interferometry. On the basis of this study, the following conclusions can be drawn : 1. In the frameworks for facial porcelain veneering, the semi-precious alloy framework was least deformed and precious alloy framework, non-precious alloy framework orderly before heat treatment, and the deformation was not shown great difference among three alloys after heat treatment and post-soldering. 2. In the frameworks for occlusal porcelain veneering, the precious alloy framework was greatest deformed and the deformation was not difference between semi-precious alloy framework and non-precious alloy framework before, after heat treatment, and the deformation was not shown great difference among three alloys after post soldering. 3. In the non-precious alloy frameworks for facial porcelain veneering and occlusal porcelain veneering, the deformation was greatly decreased after heat treatment and conversely increased after post-soldering. 4. In the semi-precious alloy framework for facial porcelain veneering, the deformation was not detectable after heat treatment and increased after post-solder. And in the frame-work for occlusal porcelain veneering, the deformation was slightly decreased after heat treatment and increased after post-soldering. 5. In the precious alloy framework for facial porcelain veneering, the deformation was greatly decreased after heat treatment and increased after post-soldering, And in the framework for occlusal porcelain veneering, the deformation was greatly decreased after heat treatment and decreased after post-soldering.
Statement of problem: As the number of elders is growing with the advancement of medicine, partially or fully edentulous patients have increased. Medically compromised conditions are common in the older population so that it should be taken into account in prosthetic treatment planning as well as their economic conditions. In the older patients, removable prosthesis has been preferred to implant prosthesis. However, cast metal based removable partial dentures also has several limitations. Purpose: In this report, we present several cases of Valplast$^{(R)}$ flexible denture which were fabricated in patients who had medically compromised conditions or whose remaining teeth showed a relatively poor prognosis. Results & Conclusion: This article describes an alternative treatment for a partially edentulous patient with mouth opening limitation, after cancer surgery, compromised general condition and questionable remaining teeth. In these patients, Valplast$^{(R)}$ flexible denture was used because of its unique characteristics and the results were all satisfactory. Patients had 1-2 check-up and there were no postoperative pain or fracture of denture up to now.
