생강 추출획분의 대두유 및 흰쥐 간 마이크로좀 지질 과산화 억제 효과 (Effect of Ginger Fractions for Inhibition of Soybean Oil and Rat Liver Microsomal Lipid Peroxidation)

  • 본 연구는 생강의 추출획분 즉, 핵산, 에테르, 에틸아세테이트 및 핵산-에테르획분(1 : 1, v/v)을 얻어서 각 획분에 존재하는 진저롤의 함량과 대두유 및 간 마이크로좀에서 지질과산화의 억제 효과를 비교하였다. 생강에서 핵산, 에테르, 에틸아세테이트 및 핵산-에테르획분(1 : 1, v/v)을 추출하여 HPLC를 사용하여 진저롤의 함량을 분석한 결과 각각 49.50, 20.74, 21.43와 93.70%였다. 이 4가지의 추출획분을 대두유에 0.2%(w/w) 농도가 되도록 첨가하여 45$^{\circ}C$에서 저장하여서 상대적 항산화효과(RAE)를 본 결과 핵산, 에테르, 에틸아세테이트 및 핵산-에테르획분(1 : 1, v/v)이 각각 2.60, 2.33, 2.07, 2.75이었고, 0.02% 농도의 BHT첨가군은 RAE가 1.74였다. 각 획분의 흰쥐 간의 마이크로좀의 지질과산화 억제율은 핵산, 에테르, 에틸아세테이트획분이 350 $\mu\textrm{g}$/$m\ell$의 반응액농도에서 각각 93, 92, 86%의 억제율을 나타냈고, 핵산-에테르획분(1 : 1, v/v)은 20 $\mu\textrm{g}$/$m\ell$의 낮은 반응액농도에서 89%의 억제율을 나타냈다.

Statistical variations in the impact resistance and mechanical properties of polypropylene fiber reinforced self-compacting concrete

  • Extensive experimental studies on remarkable mechanical properties Polypropylene Fibre Reinforced Self-compacting Concrete (PFRSCC) have been executed, including different fibre volume fractions of Polypropylene fibers (0.25%, 0.5%, 0.75%, and 1%) and different water to cement ratios (0.21, 0.34, 0.38, and 0.41). The experimental program was carried out by using two hundred and sixteen specimens to obtain the impact resistance and mechanical properties of PFRSCC materials, considering compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, and flexural strength. Statistical and analytical studies have been mainly focused on experimental data to correlate of mechanical properties of PFRSCC materials. Statistical results revealed that compressive, splitting tensile, and flexural strengths as well as impact resistance follow the normal distribution. Moreover, to correlate mechanical properties based on acquired test results, linear and nonlinear equations were developed among mechanical properties and impact resistance of PFRSCC materials.

보은지역 흑색셰일 분포지역에서의 암석-토양-식물계내 잠재적 독성원소들의 분산과 이동 (Dispersion and Migration of Potentially Toxic Elements in the Rock-Soil-Plant System from the Boeun Area Underlain by Black Shales, Korea)

  • This study had three purposes: (1) to investigate the enrichment levels and dispersion patterns of potentially toxic elements in the rock-soil-plant system; (2) to evaluate the uptake ratios of heavy metals from soils into plants and (3) to assess the chemical speciation of heavy metals in soils. Rock, surface soil and plant samples were collected in the Boeun area underlain by black shales of the Okchon Zone. These samples were analyzed for multi-elements using INAA, ICP-AES and AAS. The maximum abundance of U in black shales is 16 mg/kg and radioactivity counts up to 300 cpm. In particular, Mo, V, Ba, Cd, Pb and U are enriched in black shales. Most of soils derived from black shales show high concentrations of U, As, Mo, Ba, Cu, Cd, Pb, Zn and mean concentrations of As and Mo in soils (20 mg/kg of As and 6.6 mg/kg of Mo) are higher than the permissible level suggested by Kloke (1979). Enrichment index values of soils are calculated and higher than 1.0 in the black shale area with the highest value of 6.4. Mean concentration of Cd in plants is higher than those of Cu, Pb and Zn. The concentration of Cd in plant species decreases in the order of Chinese cabbage > red pepper > soybean=sesame > rice stalk > com > rice grain. The biological absorption coefficients (BAC) in plants are in the order of Cd > Zn=Cu > Pb, which suggests that Cd is more bioavailable to plants than Cu, Pb and Zn. From the results of sequential extraction analysis of soils, relatively high proportion of Cu, Pb and Zn are present as residual fractions whereas that of Cd as non-residual fractions. Cadmuim occurs predominantly as exchangeable/water-acid soluble phase in soils, and Cd is more mobile and bioavailable than Cu, Pb and Zn.

  • Addition of hooked steel fibers into the cementitious materials enhanced shear resistance and consequently improves structural behavior and shear strength of reinforced hooked steel fibrous concrete beam(RHSFCB) under the shear forces. Experimental observations were made on the main parameters effecting structural behavior of RHSFCB in this study. The volume fractions of fibers, shear span to depth ratios, and spacings of stirrups were taken into account as the main parameters. Some equations reported in the literatures, regarding the predictions of the shear strength of RHSFCB have been evaluated statistically based on the total number of 95 test results on RHSFCB failed in shear on shear-flexural mode.

  • Humic acid, fulvic acid and humin present in volcanic ash soil were isolated by IHSS standard procedure and their characteristics were analyzed as a basic study to evaluate the effect of humic substances on the behaviour of pollutants in contaminated surface soil. The volcanic ash soil contained 42.1 % of total organic matter based on the oven-dried soil, and humin, humic and fulvic acids corresponded to 67.5 %, 15.2 %, 7.6 % of TOM respectively. Structural informations of the humic fractions were obtained from their elemental analysis and IR, CPMAS C-13 NMR spectral analysis and the differences among them are discussed with their C/H, O/C ratios and distributions of carbon types in the molecules.

  • 1) 분획별(分劃別) 지질중(脂質中) triglyceride가 $73.4{\sim}77.2%$로 가장 높았고 채유방법별(採油方法別)로는 RWE의 triglyceride가 RTP와 RTE보다 높았다. 2) glycolipid(GL)의 oleic acid와 linoleic acid, tryglyceride(TG)의 linoleic acid, free fatty acid(FFA)의 oleic acid와 linoleic acid, phospholipid(PL)의 palmitic acid와 stearic acid는 RTP와 RTE가 RWE보다 높았으나 TG의 oleic acid, FFA의 palmitic acid와 stearic acid, PL의 oleic acid와 linoleic acid는 그 반대(反對)로 RTP와 RTE가 RWE보다 낮았다. 3) glycolipid 및 phospholipid의 $C_{18}/C_{16}$ 지방산비(脂肪酸比)와 불포화도비(不飽和度比)는 RTP와 RTE가 RWE보다 높았으나 triglyceride 및 free fatty acid의 그것은 반대(反對)로 RTP와 RTE가 RWE보다 낮다.

천연유기물과 모노클로라민의 반응시 유기성 클로라민 생성 (Formation of Organic Chloramines during Monochloramination of Natural Organic Matters)

  • 천연유기물질(NOM)과 모노클로라민이 반응할 때 NOM내 용존유기질소(DON)가 유기성 클로라민의 생성에 미치는 영향에 대하여 조사하였다. 실험에 사용된 16가지 NOM의 용존유기탄소(DOC)에 대한 DON의 비(DOC/DON)는 7~47 mg-C/mg-N이었다. NOM 용액의 모노클로라민 반응시 유기성 클로라민 생성 농도는 24시간 후에 최대치(평균값 $0.16mg-Cl_2/mg-N$)로 염소반응에 비하여 유기성 클로라민의 생성량은 적었으나, 분해되어 감소되는 속도는 낮아 반응 120시간 후에 최대치 대비 평균 56% 감소되었다. NOM내 DON의 함유비가 높은 경우(DOC/DON 비가 낮은 경우)에 유기성 클로라민의 생성량이 상대적으로 높게 나타났으나, 소수성, 친수성, 중간성, 콜로이드성 등 NOM의 특성에 따른 유기성 클로라민 생성량의 차이는 크지 않았다. 모노클로라민의 주입량을 증가시킬수록 유기성 클로라민 생성량이 선형적으로 증가하였고($R^2=0.91$), 주입된 모노클로라민 중 6%가 유기성 클로라민으로 전환되어 모노클로라민 소독시 유기성 클로라민 형성에 의한 소독능 저하는 크게 우려할 바는 아닐 수 있다.

수도권 상수중 유기오염물질의 돌연변이원성 (Mutagenic Activity of Organic Pollutans in Drinking Water in Seoul)

  • To measure the mutagenic activity of micro-organic pollutants in drinking water, mutagenicity test was conducted using Salmnella typhimurium TA 98 strain on the water sample taken from three water supply stations and six tap water in Seoul in July and November 1987. The results were as follows : 1. The average amounts of organic matters in raw, treated, and tap water sampled in July were 0.38mg/l, 0.28mg/l, and 0.45mg/l. respectively, and sampled in November were 0.34mg/l, 0.24mg/l, and 0.22mg/l, respectively. The amount of organic matters of tap water sampled in November did not increase while that of tap water sampled in July increased compare to those of raw or treated water. 2. The amount of organic matters is the highest in neutral fraction compare to acidic and basic fractions. 3. In the five out of six tap water and raw water of Paldang and Kuui station sampled in July, the mutagenicity ratios were greater then two (both direct and indirect mutagenicity). 4. In the three out of six tap water and raw and treated water of Kuui station sampled in November, the mutagenicity ratios were greater than two. 5. While mutagenic activities were low in acidic and basic fraction, they were high in neutral fraction. The samples which had high mutagenic acitivity in the total amount also showed high mutagenic activity in neutral fraction. 6. While mutagenic acitivity was decreased after the treatement of water, it was increased in tap water as the distance from the water supply station increases.

Changes in Physico-chemical Properties of Moss Peat Based Root Media and Growth of Potted Chrysanthemums as Influenced by Blending Ratios of Root Media in a C-channel Mat Irrigation System

  • This experiment was conducted to investigate physical and chemical characteristics by volume fractions of root media using peatmoss, perlite, and vermiculite, along with effects on the growth of pot chrysanthemums (Dendranthema ${\times}$ grandiflorum 'Vemini') in a C-channel mat irrigation system. To evaluate the physico-chemical properties of 20 root media, the bulk density, particle density, total pore space, pore space, ash content, organic matter, pH, and electrical conductivity were measured and data were analyzed using principal component analysis (PCA). PCA scores revealed that physico-chemical properties changed by the blending of peatmoss, perlite, and vermiculite. The 20 root media were divided into three main groups by hierarchical cluster analysis. At the end of the experiment, the pH and EC of the root media were measured from media divided into four layers. The pH of root media without plants showed a strong linear relationship and the pH of root media with plants increased exponentially. The change of EC in the root medium was indicated as a hyperbolic curve. Plant growth characteristics according to growth in the 20 root media were analyzed by PCA. It was found that the mixing ratios of the root media affected plant growth characteristics. Therefore, mixing ratio is an important factor for pot-plant production in a subirrigation system.

모재-섬유 함침 비율에 따른 건설용 GFRP 기둥구조의 고유진동 특성 (Natural Frequency Characteristics of GFRP Pole Structures for Civil Structures with Different Fiber-Volume Fraction)

  • 본 연구는 GFRP 복합재료로 구성된 기둥 구조에 대하여 마이크로 역학 접근방법에 의한 섬유의 함침비율 변화에 따라 탄성계수를 예측하고 매크로 역학 기반으로 고유진동 특성을 분석하였다. 본 연구에서 제시하는 멀티 스케일 접근법에 의한 유한요소 모델은 해석의 정확성과 재료들 간의 상관관계를 상세하고 정확이 보여준다는 장점이 있다. 수치해석은 적층 갯수, 적층배열, 섬유함침비율의 변화에 따라서 고유진동의 변화를 분석하는데 중점을 두고 있다. 수치예제로부터 섬유와 모재의 재료비율은 거시적 동역학적 특성에 중요한 영향을 주고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구는 고유진동에 영향을 미치는 최적의 섬유와 모재 재료비율을 상세 분석하였으며, 해석 결과는 건설용으로서의 복합소재 기둥구조가 경제적이면서 우수한 동적 구조 성능을 만족하도록 설계하는데 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
