고해상도 위성 SAR 영상품질 성능 분석 툴 개발 (Development of SAR Image Quality Performance Analysis Tool for High Resolution Spaceborne Synthetic Aperture Radar)

  • 본 연구에서는 영상레이다 (SAR)의 영상품질 분석 변수 및 확장 보간법, 배경레벨 제거 기법 등의 분석 기법을 정의하고 이를 바탕으로 SAR 영상품질 분석 툴을 개발하였다. 개발된 SAR 영상품질 분석 툴은 크게 점 표적 분석 (PTA) 모듈, 분산 표적 분석 (DTA) 모듈, 모호성 분석 (AMA) 모듈, NESZ 분석 (NESZA) 모듈, 총 4개의 주요 모듈로 구성된다. 개발 툴은 SAR 제품 파일 포맷에서 다양한 시스템 파라미터 추출하고, 이를 바탕으로 임펄스 응답 특성, 방사 성능, 모호성 등의 SAR 영상 품질 변수를 계산한다.

  • Among the various elements affecting a customer's evaluation of automobile quality, buzz, squeak and rattle(BSR) have been considered to be major factors. In most vehicle manufacturers, the BSR problems are solved by find-fix method with the vehicle road test, mainly due to various excitation sources, complex generation mechanism and subjective response. To systematically tackle the BSR problems in early stage of the vehicle development cycle, these difficulties should be resolved. The aim of the present paper is to characterize the sound quality property of BSR noise that can be used to assess the subjective responses to BSR. The four sound metrics from Zwicker's sound quality parameter are computed for the signals recorded for eight BSR noise source regions localized by using the acoustic-field visualized results. Then, the jury test of BSR noise are performed. On the basis of the computed sound metrics and jury test result is evaluated to represent the harshness of BSR noise. It is expected that the developed BSR measuring system and sound quality properties can be used to reduce the automotive interior BSR noise in terms of subjective levels as well as objective levels.

Electromyography-signal-based muscle fatigue assessment for knee rehabilitation monitoring systems

  • This study suggested a new EMG-signal-based evaluation method for knee rehabilitation that provides not only fragmentary information like muscle power but also in-depth information like muscle fatigue in the field of rehabilitation which it has not been applied to. In our experiment, nine healthy subjects performed straight leg raise exercises which are widely performed for knee rehabilitation. During the exercises, we recorded the joint angle of the leg and EMG signals from four prime movers of the leg: rectus femoris (RFM), vastus lateralis, vastus medialis, and biceps femoris (BFLH). We extracted two parameters to estimate muscle fatigue from the EMG signals, the zero-crossing rate (ZCR) and amplitude of muscle tension (AMT) that can quantitatively assess muscle fatigue from EMG signals. We found a decrease in the ZCR for the RFM and the BFLH in the muscle fatigue condition for most of the subjects. Also, we found increases in the AMT for the RFM and the BFLH. Based on the results, we quantitatively confirmed that in the state of muscle fatigue, the ZCR shows a decreasing trend whereas the AMT shows an increasing trend. Our results show that both the ZCR and AMT are useful parameters for characterizing the EMG signals in the muscle fatigue condition. In addition, our proposed methods are expected to be useful for developing a navigation system for knee rehabilitation exercises by evaluating the two parameters in two-dimensional parameter space.

  • In this study, we propose a space search algorithm (SSA) and then introduce a hybrid optimization of fuzzy inference systems based on SSA and information granulation (IG). In comparison with "conventional" evolutionary algorithms (such as PSO), SSA leads no.t only to better search performance to find global optimization but is also more computationally effective when dealing with the optimization of the fuzzy models. In the hybrid optimization of fuzzy inference system, SSA is exploited to carry out the parametric optimization of the fuzzy model as well as to realize its structural optimization. IG realized with the aid of C-Means clustering helps determine the initial values of the apex parameters of the membership function of fuzzy model. The overall hybrid identification of fuzzy inference systems comes in the form of two optimization mechanisms: structure identification (such as the number of input variables to be used, a specific subset of input variables, the number of membership functions, and polyno.mial type) and parameter identification (viz. the apexes of membership function). The structure identification is developed by SSA and C-Means while the parameter estimation is realized via SSA and a standard least square method. The evaluation of the performance of the proposed model was carried out by using four representative numerical examples such as No.n-linear function, gas furnace, NO.x emission process data, and Mackey-Glass time series. A comparative study of SSA and PSO demonstrates that SSA leads to improved performance both in terms of the quality of the model and the computing time required. The proposed model is also contrasted with the quality of some "conventional" fuzzy models already encountered in the literature.

The aim of this paper is to develop the integrated experimental method to systematically tackle the BSR problems in early stage of the vehicle development cycle by resolving these difficulties. To achieve this aim, the developed experimental method ought to include the following requirements: to find and fix the BSR problem for modules instead of a full vehicle in order to tackle the problem in the early stage of the vehicle development cycle; to develop the exciter system including the zig and road-input-signal reproducing algorithm; to automatically localize the source region of BSR; to develop sound quality index that can be used to assess the subjective responses to BSR. Also, the BSR sound quality indexes based on the Zwicker's sound quality parameters using a multiple regression analysis. The four sound metrics from Zwicker's sound quality parameter are computed for the signals recorded for eight BSR noise source regions localized by using the acoustic-field visualized results. Then, the jury test of BSR noise are performed for participants. On a basis of the computed sound metrics and jury test result, sound quality index is developed to represent the harsh of BSR noise. It is expected that the developed BSR detection system and sound quality indexes can be used to reduce the automotive interior BSR noise in terms of subjective levels as well as objective levels.

변수내장형 다채널 위너필터를 위한 목적신호대잡음 기여비를 이용한 잡음추정기법 (Noise Statistics Estimation Using Target-to-Noise Contribution Ratio for Parameterized Multichannel Wiener Filter)

  • 변수내장형 다채널 위너 필터는 내장된 변수를 이용하여 잔여잡음과 신호왜곡 간의 트레이드오프를 조절할 수 있는 선형 필터이다. 이러한 변수내장형 다채널 위너필터를 적용하기 위해서는 정확한 잡음추정이 중요한데 널리 쓰이는 다채널 최소 제어 재귀 평균 기법이 있다. 하지만 다채널 최소 제어 재귀 평균 기법은 방향성 간섭 신호가 존재할 경우 잡음추정의 정확도가 하락하여 변수내장형 다채널 위너필터의 성능이 저하되는 문제점이 있다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 변수내장형 다채널 위너필터를 위한 새로운 잡음 추정 기법을 제안한다. 제안한 방법은 주로 잡음 섞인 마이크로폰 입력 신호의 전력 스펙트럼 밀도에 대해 고유값 분해, 방향성 정보를 이용한 목적신호의 기여도 추정, 목적신호의 기여도를 보다 합리적으로 추정하기 위한 지수 가중치 부가의 일련의 과정을 수행한다. 제안한 방법을 평가하기 위해 신호대잡음비, 음성왜곡도 등의 총 4가지 객관적 성능 평가 방법을 이용하여 기존의 방법과 비교하였다. 실험을 통해 방향성 간섭신호가 존재하는 환경에서 제안한 잡음 추정기법을 적용한 다채널 위너필터의 성능이 향상됨을 확인하였다.

스프링식 횡방항 발진 크로스홀 탄성파 시험을 통한 지반 동적 특성의 합리적 산정 (Reliable Evaluation of Dynamic Ground Properties from Cross-hole Seismic Test using Spying-loaded Lateral Impact Source)

  • 지반의 동적 변형 특성인 전단파 속도$(V_s)$, 압축파 속도$(V_p)$, 그리고 그에 따른 포아송 비(v)는 내진 설계나 내진 성능 평가 외에도 구조물의 거동 평가에 필요한 매우 중요한 지반 정수이다. 지난 수십 년 동안 이러한 지반 정수를 효율적이고 정밀하게 측정하기 위하여, 여러 가지 공내 탄성파 시험 기법들이 개발 및 적용되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 가장 신뢰성이 높은 현장 탄성파 기법인 크로스홀 탄성파 시험을 지반 동적 물성 획득 기법으로 선정하였다. 지하수위 존재 여부에 관계 없이 토사뿐만 아니라 암반을 대상으로 크로스홀 시험을 성공적으로 수행할 수 있도록, 연직 시추공 안에서 지반을 대상으로 횡방향 가진이 가능한 스프링식 발진 장치를 개발하고, 두 곳의 기존 항만 부두 부지와 신규 LNG 저장 시설 두 부지로 구성된 국내 세 지역을 대상으로 크로스홀 탄성파 시험을 실시하였다. 대상 부지에서의 개발 발진 장치 적용을 통한 크로스홀 시험으로부터 지표 부근 토사부터 하부 공학적 기반암 및 지진학적 기반암으로 구성된 암반까지의 깊이별 $V_s,\;V_p$ 및 v와 같은 지반 동적 특성을 매우 효율적으로 결정하였으며, 적용 대상 시설물인 기존 항만 부두 시설물의 내진 성능 평가 그리고 신규 LNG 저장 시설물의 내진 설계를 위한 근본 자료로 제시하였다.

원자로 노심 용융물의 고압분출 및 비산 현상에 대한 수치해석적 연구 (MOLTEN CORIUM DISPERSION DURING HYPOTHETICAL HIGH-PRESSURE ACCIDENTS IN A NUCLEAR POWER PLANT)

  • During a hypothetical high-pressure accident in a nuclear power plant (NPP), molten corium can be ejected through a breach of a reactor pressure vessel (RPV) and dispersed by a following jet of a high-pressure steam in the RPV. The dispersed corium is fragmented into smaller droplets in a reactor cavity of the NPP by the steam jet and released into other compartments of the NPP by a overpressure in the cavity. The fragments of the corium transfer thermal energy to the ambient air in the containment or interact chemically with steam and generate hydrogen which may be burnt in the containment. The thermal loads from the ejected molten corium on the containment which is called direct containment heating (DCH) can threaten the integrity of the containment. DCH in a NPP containment is related to many physical phenomena such as multi-phase hydrodynamics, thermodynamics and chemical process. In the evaluation of the DCH load, the melt dispersion rates depending on the RPV pressure are the most important parameter. Mostly, DCH was evaluated by using lumped-analysis codes with some correlations obtained from experiments for the dispersion rates. In this study, MC3D code was used to evaluate the dispersion rates in the APR1400 NPP during the high-pressure accidents. MC3D is a two-phase analysis code based on Eulerian four-fields for melt jet, melt droplets, gas and water. The dispersion rates of the corium melt depending on the RPV pressure were obtained from the MC3D analyses and the values specific to the APR1400 cavity geometry were compared to a currently available correlation.

Experimental evaluation of crack effects on the dynamic characteristics of a prototype arch dam using ambient vibration tests

  • The aim of the study is to determine the modal parameters of a prototype damaged arch dam by operational modal analysis (OMA) method for some damage scenarios. For this purpose, a prototype arch dam-reservoir-foundation model is constructed under laboratory conditions. Ambient vibration tests on the arch dam model are performed to identify the modal parameters such as natural frequency, mode shape and damping ratio. The tests are conducted for four test-case scenarios: an undamaged dam with empty reservoir, two different damaged dams with empty reservoirs, and a damaged dam with full reservoir. Loading simulating random impact effects is applied on the dam to crack. Cracks and fractures occurred at the middle of the upper part of the dams and distributed through the abutments. Sensitivity accelerometers are placed on the dams' crests to collect signals for measurements. Operational modal analysis software processes the signals collected from the ambient vibration tests, and enhanced frequency domain decomposition and stochastic subspace identification techniques are used to estimate modal parameters of the dams. The modal parameters are obtained to establish a basis for comparison of the results of two techniques for each damage case. Results show that approximately 35-40% difference exists between the natural frequencies obtained from Case 1 and Case 4. The natural frequencies of the dam considerably decrease with increasing cracks. However, observation shows that the filled reservoir slightly affected modal parameters of the dam after severe cracking. The mode shapes obtained are symmetrical and anti-symmetrical. Apparently, mode shapes in Case 1 represent the probable responses of arch dams more accurately. Also, damping ratio show an increase when cracking increases.
