  • In rotatable directional sensor networks, maximizing network lifetime while covering all the targets and forwarding the sensed data to the sink is a challenge problem. In this paper, we address the Maximum Directional Cover Tree (MDCT) problem of organizing the directional sensors into a group of non-disjoint subsets to extend the network lifetime. Each subset in which the directional sensors cover all the targets and forward the sensed data to the sink is activated at one time. For the MDCT problem, we first present an energy consumption model which mainly takes into account the energy consumption for rotation work. We also develop the Directional Coverage and Connectivity (DCC)-greedy algorithm to solve the MDCT problem. To evaluate the algorithm, we conduct simulations and show that it can extend the network lifetime.

  • The bi-directional relay channel is the natural extension of a three-terminal relay channel where node a transmits to node b with the help of a relay r to allow for two-way communication between nodes a and b. That is, in a bi-directional relay channel, a and b wish to exchange independent messages over a shared channel with the help of a relay r. The rates at which this communication may reliably take place depend on the assumptions made on the relay processing abilities. We overview information theoretic limits of the bi-directional relay channel under a variety of conditions, before focusing on half-duplex nodes in which communication takes place in a number of temporal phases (resulting in protocols), and nodes may forward messages in four manners. The relay-forwarding considered are: Amplify and forward (AF), decode and forward (DF), compress and forward (CF), and mixed forward. The last scheme is a combination of CF in one direction and DF in the other. We derive inner and outer bounds to the capacity region of the bi-directional relay channel for three temporal protocols under these four relaying schemes. The first protocol is a two phase protocol where a and b simultaneously transmit during the first phase and the relay r alone transmits during the second. The second protocol considers sequential transmissions from a and b followed by a transmission from the relay while the third protocol is a hybrid of the first two protocols and has four phases. We provide a comprehensive treatment of protocols in Gaussian noise, obtaining their respective achievable rate regions, outer bounds, and their relative performance under different SNR and relay geometries.

  • Recently data centers are being constructed actively by many cloud service providers, enterprises, research institutes, etc. Generally, they are built on tree topology using ECMP data forwarding scheme for load balancing. In this paper, we examine data center network topologies like tree topology and fat-tree topology, and load balancing technologies like MLAG and ECMP. Then, we propose a scheduling algorithm to efficiently transmit particular files stored on the hosts in the data center to the destination node outside the data center, where fat-tree topology and OpenFlow protocol between infrastructure layer and control layer are used. We run performance analysis by numerical method, and compare the analysis results with those of ECMP. Through the performance comparison, we show the outperformance of the proposed algorithm in terms of throughput and file transfer completion time.

  • Recently researches of P2P media streaming have been actively published, but the research what kind of P2P overlay networks are better to delivering media data has not been attended. This paper designs a P2P streaming media system model. In this system, we constructs a Half-Structure P2P overlay protocol based on node's capability as the infrastructure of streaming application, which utilizes the heterogeneity of the nodes to maintain topology, presents a active contents diffusing algorithm and Two-stage search algorithm, make it possible for nodes in P2P system to collect information according their capacity and reduces the number of forwarding packet compared with flooding. Also, we give an optimal scheme to scheduling media data.

  • IP version 6 (IPv6) is a new If addressing scheme that has 128-bit address space. IPv6 is proposed to solve the address space problem of IP version 4 (IPv4) which has 32-bit address space. For a given IPv6 routing set, if a forwarding table is built using a trio structure, the trio has a lot more levels than that for IPv4. Hence, for IPv6 address lookup, the binary search on trio levels would be more appropriate and give better search performance than linear search on trio levels. This paper proposes a new IPv6 address lookup algorithm performing binary search on trio levels. The proposed algorithm uses a Bloom filter in pre-filtering levels which do not have matching nodes, and hence it reduces the number of off-chip memory accesses. Simulation has been performed using actual IPv6 routing sets, and the result shows that an IPv6 address lookup can be performed with 1-3 memory accesses in average for a routing data set with 1096 prefixes.

  • IISO/IEC 9594-8 defines the public key framework and attribute certificate framework. Attribute certificate framework deals with privilege management infrastructure(PMI). In PMI, for privilege management using attribute certificates, role assignment certificates and role specification certificates are used to assign and specify privileges independently. Role specification certificates includes privilege specifications and the details far privilege management of network environments. Privilege management of unreliable network environment tries to enhance the reliability and efficiency of privilege information transmission forwarding over unreliable routes in the presence of potentially faulty nodes and edges. Each node forms a role specification tree based on role specification relationship data collected from the network. In this paper privilege management cost with the role specification certificates tree structure is evaluated trying to reduce the overhead incurred by role creation and modification of privileges. The multicasting of packets are used for scalability. We establish management cost model taking into account the packet loss and node reliability which continuously join and leave for network. We present quantitative results which demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed privilege management scheme.

  • Named Data Networking (NDN) is a representative technology of ICN that realizes the future Internet architecture. NDN searches for data by its content and not by its host IP address. The consumer generates an interest packet and sends it to the NDN network. The NDN network uses three tables such as CS, FIB, and PIT and forwards the received interest packet to the next hop. The producer transmits the data packet to the consumer through a name-based forwarding scheme. In this paper, we design and implement an ndnSIM-based NDN network and perform performance evaluation. We analyze the ndnSIM structure and develop a 6-node congested NDN network and a 9-node grid NDN network using ndnSIM. In the simulation, the performance of latency and throughput of the interest packet rate are measured. We analyze the effect of congestion on the latency and throughput of the NDN network. This approach will help researchers in the future.

  • In this paper, interoperability in heterogeneous wireless mesh network, and mesh nodes for providing efficient IP mobility technique offers multi-hop ARP. Heterogeneous wireless mesh networks to MANETs based on a wireless mesh network backbone and non-MANET architecture is based on a client wireless mesh network and the two mobile networks, combined with a hybrid wireless mesh network are separate. In two different hybrid wireless mesh network routing protocols used to connect the two protocols in the protocol conversion at the gateway to parallel processing problems seriously overload occurs. All of the network reliability and stability are factors that reduce. Therefore, for efficient integration with L3 routing protocols, design techniques to build ARP multi-hop go through the experiment to increase the number of mesh nodes, the packet forwarding rate and an increased hop number of the node was to ensure reliability and stability.

  • In vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANETs), vehicles sense information on emergency incidents (e.g., accidents, unexpected road conditions, etc.) and propagate this information to following vehicles and a server to share the information. However, this process of emergency message propagation is based on multiple broadcast messages and can lead to broadcast storms. To address this issue, in this work, we use a novel approach to detect the vehicles that are farthest away but within communication range of the transmitting vehicle. Specifically, we discuss a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR)-based linear back-off (SLB) scheme where vehicles implicitly detect their relative locations to the transmitter with respect to the SNR of the received packets. Once the relative locations are detected, nodes that are farther away will set a relatively shorter back-off to prioritize its forwarding process so that other vehicles can suppress their transmissions based on packet overhearing. We evaluate SLB using a realistic simulation environment which consists of a NS-3 VANET simulation environment, a software-based WiFi-IP gateway, and an ITS server operating on a separate machine. Comparisons with other broadcasting-based schemes indicate that SLB successfully propagates emergency messages with latencies and hop counts that is close to the experimental optimal while reducing the number of transmissions by as much as 1/20.

  • In many sensor network applications, sensor nodes are deployed in open environments, and hence are vulnerable to physical attacks, potentially compromising the node's cryptographic keys. False sensing report can be injected through compromised nodes, which can lead to not only false alarms but also the depletion of limited energy resource in battery powered networks. Fan Ye et al. proposed that statistical en-route filtering scheme(SEF) can do verify the false report during the forwarding process. In this scheme, the choice of a partition value represents a trade off between resilience and energy where the partition value is the total number of partitions which global key pool is divided. If every partition are compromised by an adversary, SEF disables the filtering capability. Also, when an adversary has compromised a very small portion of keys in every partition, the remaining uncompromised keys which take a large portion of the total cannot be used to filter false reports. We propose a fuzzy-based adaptive partitioning method in which a global key pool is adaptively divided into multiple partitions by a fuzzy rule-based system. The fuzzy logic determines a partition value by considering the number of compromised partitions, the energy and density of all nodes. The fuzzy based partition value can conserve energy, while it provides sufficient resilience.
