  • In this study, a forming magnesium alloy circular cup was simulated accounting for heat transfer at elevated temperatures. In order to predict the failure of magnesium alloy sheet during simulation, the forming limit diagram, which is used in sheet metal forming analysis to determine the criterion for failure, was investigated. For the failure prediction in the simulation accounting for heat transfer, the forming limit diagram for a temperature the same as the temperature of the blank element was used. The result of the simulation showed that the drawn depth increases with the increase of the die-holder temperature, and is in accord with the experimental results above the die-holder temperature of $150^{\circ}C$. The forming limit diagram provided a good guide for the failure prediction of warm forming simulation accounting for heat transfer. In addition, the effect of the tool shoulder radius on the drawn depth at various tool temperatures is verified using the simulation conditions which agreed with the experimental results.

  • In order to examine the springback amount and material properties of aluminum alloy sheets (AL1050 and AL5052) in the warm forming which forms the sheet above the room temperature, the stretch bending and draw bending tests and tensile test in various high temperatures are carried out. The warm forming temperature 15$0^{\circ}C$ is a transition in terms of the material properties: over the forming temperature 15$0^{\circ}C$, them $\sigma$$_{YS}$ , $\sigma$$_{TS}$ , E, K, n, etc. are bigger but $\varepsilon$ and plastic strain ratio are smaller. Below the forming temperature 15$0^{\circ}C$, there are no big differences in material properties as the forming temperature changes. AL5052 sheet has more springback effect than AL1050 sheet. While the springbacks of AL5052 and AL1050 sheets show a big reduction over the warm forming temperature 15$0^{\circ}C$ in the stretch bending test, the springback rapidly reduces in the warm forming temperature 15$0^{\circ}C$-20$0^{\circ}C$ for AL5052 sheet and 20$0^{\circ}C$-25$0^{\circ}C$ for AL1050 sheet in the draw bending test.

  • Dispersion strengthened Cu alloys have been manufactured by spray forming and also by reactive spray forming, followed by hot extrusion of the spray deposited billets. The size of dispersed particles in the reactive spray formed alloy was much finer than that in the spray formed alloy. That was because the dominant chemical reaction between Ti and B had occurred in Cu-Ti-B alloy melt in spray forming while it had occurred after deposition of droplets in reactive spray forming. The yield strength of the reactive spray formed alloy was greater than that of the spray formed alloy. To understand the mechanism responsible for this observed strengthening, the yield strength of two Cu alloys were analyzed using the dislocation pile-up model and Orowan mechanism, which were fairly consistent with the experimental results. Increase in yield strength of reactive spray formed alloy relative to spray formed alloy was largely attributed to nano-scale TiB dispersoids.

  • Manufacturing process for milli components has recently gained researcher's focus with the increasing tendency toward highly integrated and micro-scaled parts for electronic devices. The milli-components cannot be formed by the conventional manufacturing process since the parts require higher dimensional accuracy than the conventional ones. In order to enhance the forming accuracy and productivity, various forming procedures proposed and studied by many researchers. In this paper, forming analysis of milli-components has been studied with a new micro-former. In modeling of progressive dies, multi-stage forming sequence has been analyzed with finite element analysis by LS-DYNA3D. The analysis proposes the sequential die and part shapes with the corresponding punch force and dimensional accuracy. The analysis also considers the effect of elastic dies on the dimensional accuracy of the formed parts. The analysis result demonstrates that the elastic analysis in the milli-forming process is indispensable fur accurate forming analysis. The analysis procedure in the paper will provide good information in design of a new micro-former and milli-component.

  • To examine the feasibility of dry forming technology for papermaking, a dry forming mold (DFM) was developed and evaluated. Main fanning section of DFM was a cylindrical tube, and at the top of the mold a stirring equipment was placed to disperse dry fibers. These fibers were screened using a hole type screen plate placed just under the stirring equipment and dropped freely on the fanning wire located 0.9 m below of the screen plate to form a dry fiber pad. The vertical and horizontal velocity of air flow in the forming cylinder were evaluated and analyzed to find the most effective method of air flow control in the cylinder. Humidification and pressing conditions to obtain a decent dry fanned papers were examined. Results showed dry fanned papers can be prepared with this dry forming mold. And this mold can be used to examine the effect of the papermaking process factors including pressing pressure, drying temperature, humidification on sheet quality of dry formed papers.

  • For electromagnetic forming(EMF) the most important feature is a forming coil which creates the electromagnetic force(Lorentz force), using current density and a magnetic field. Most previous papers have concentrated on the final configuration of the blank or the efficiency of EMF process. Studies focused on the design parameters affected by the forming coil performance have not been conducted. In order to design a suitable forming coil for an object, the current study uses LS-DYNA EM-Module to not only optimize the coil but also to examine the effect of coil performance. By this method a suitable forming coil was made and tested to determine whether or not good formability was achieved in a free bulge test Numerical analysis was also used. The workpiece was Al 1100-O with a thickness of 1.27mm and the coil was made from copper CW004A, which has good electrical conductivity and is suitable for electrical components.

  • Incremental forming is a relatively novel sheet forming process, in which parts can be formed without the use of dedicated dies. In this paper, the influence of the process parameters (tool diameter, step size, feed rate, existence of a die, forming methods, and kinds of tool path) on surface roughness in the case in which parts are processed by incremental forming was discussed. Al 1050 material is used in the experiments. A table of orthogonal arrays is used to design the experiments and the ANOVA method is employed to statistically analyze the results. The obtained results show that the process parameters of tool diameter, step size, and the existence of a die have a significant effect on the surface roughness, whereas the feed rate, forming methods and kinds of tool path are insignificant.

  • In this study, the relationship between trust and purchase intention, which is an outcome variable, was empirically verified by discovering the trust-forming factors of anti-aging products and developing measurement variables. In addition to the existing trust-forming factors such as perceived quality, perceived reputation, brand recognition, and customization, a newly discovered factor is 'accredited certification'. Since the anti-aging industry in Korea is an industry that directly affects consumer health, it was determined that the existing trust-forming factors had limitations in building consumer trust, and a new measure was discovered. This study conducted a survey on anti-aging product consumers and analyzed the solidity and relationship of the questions. As a result of the analysis, it was found that perceived quality, brand recognition, customization, and accredited certification among the anti-aging product trust-forming factors had a positive (+) effect on trust, and perceived reputation had a negative (-) effect on trust. appeared to affect It was found that there was a positive (+) effect between trust and purchase intention, which are the trailing variables. This study proved the meaningful relationship between trust-forming factors and trust by strategically developing and empirically and practically examining meaningful and effective trust-forming factors and measurement items. At the same time, this study is expected to significantly contribute to the establishment of marketing strategies related to anti-aging products in the future by discovering key factors for forming trust that are important for marketing in the anti-aging industry.

  • The forming limit diagram is assessed as a means of estimating the forming characteristics of sheet metal and is usually determined experimentally. The strain rates used in the determination are likely to be low. However, often in practice, the strain rates are much higher, so if forming limit diagram is determined at low rates, it may not be appropriate. This paper reconsiders the forming limit diagram for mild steel and aluminum sheet up to variation in strain rate from 10$^{-2}$ sec to 20/sec where its forming has been carried out under oil pressure using a hydraulic bulge test with circular and elliptical dies. To obtain higher strain rate, an impact bulge test had been employed with the same die sets as those used for a hydraulic bulge test. The results obtained are as follows: (1) As the strain rate increases, the fracture pressure increases and the polar height at fracture decreases. (2) Experiment has shown that, in the positive quadrant of the forming limit diagram, the diagram is lowered with increasing strain rate and the effect of strain rate changes according to strain paths and materials..

  • In this work, we have employed the strain gradient plasticity theory to investigate the effect of material size on the deformation behavior in metal forming process. Flow stress is expressed in terms of strain, strain gradient (spatial derivative of strain) and intrinsic material length. The least square method coupled with strain gradient plasticity was used to calculate the components of strain gradient at each element of material. For demonstrating the size effect, the proposed approach has been applied to plane compression process and micro rolling process. Results show when the characteristic length of the material comes to the intrinsic material length, the effect of strain gradient is noteworthy. For the microcompression, the additional work hardening at higher strain gradient regions results in uniform distribution of strain. In the case of micro-rolling, the strain gradient is remarkable at the exit section where the actual reduction of the rolling finishes and subsequently strong work hardening take places at the section. This results in a considerable increase in rolling force. Rolling force with the strain gradient plasticity considered in analysis increases by 20% compared to that with conventional plasticity theory.
