This study considers direction types and formative characteristics by analyzing natural objets in contemporary fashion window display. The research methods are both literature review and content analysis based on images of contemporary fashion window display. The conclusions of this study are as follows. First, the direction types of natural objets in contemporary fashion window display expand objective outlines by maximizing the morphological form of objects. Second, a rhythmic sense expressed through a gradual repetition of patterns or a sequential arrangement of natural objects. Third, it represents a reversal of image accomplished through a modification of material on the natural objects. Fourth, a new space is created by transforming two dimensional forms of natural objects. The first formative characteristic of natural objects in contemporary fashion window display is exaggeration. This is expressed through either the expansion of the external volume, the collapsed form of natural objects, or the distortion of external colors. Second, it is a dynamics. This makes it possible to recall the dynamic image of the integration of the observer with a priori thinking by systematically sequencing objects or inducing a specific motion. Third, it is an abstraction. This provides an opportunity for the observer to find in a natural beauty by exchanging physical form or reinterpreting characteristic points. Fourth, it concerns eclecticism characteristic that objects created through the mutual fusion of heterogeneous elements indicates an aesthetic inspiration in a limited space by diverting conventional thinking toward natural objects with expansion of consciousness on formative arts.

The purpose of this study is to grasp the meaning of retro-fashion, to research the formative feature characteristic and aesthetic values. Retro-fashion is one of the expression of spatiotemporal-eclecticism, The formative of modern Retro-fashion are as follows: First, Retro-fashion based on spatiotemporal-eclecticism have been come from 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s style of time, and the asia, africa, middle east, latin America in region. Second, the design inspiration and technique is used more primitive crafts and decoration like handcrafted material, handmade ornaments as dyeing and embroidery of bohemian, jacqwuard pattern, oriental beads, applique, new hippie touch, patchwork, smocking, primitive button, woods, ethnic motives. Third, modern Retro-fashion is reflection of human feelings as nostalgia from the past, it supplies the sense of fashion creativity and new ideas.

The purpose of this study is to consider the formative characteristics of dance sports from such points of view as shapes, colors, material and decorations, and to examine artistic characteristics that are expressed through those elements. As a result, this study shows five artistic characteristics as follows; First, rhythmic characteristic is expressed with repeat of lines that is formed by pleats, shirring or gather, with duplication of ruffle's wave, with gradation of colors, with Moire-effect that is generated with overlap of see-through material, with glossy material that reflects lights to a great extent, with fringe. Second, bodily characteristic emphasizes the beauty of human bodies through direct or indirect body exposure by way of cut-and-open, see-throughness or close adhesion. Third, decorative characteristic is shown with beads, fringe, ruffle, embroidery, shirring, binding, or feather. Fourth, the beauty of female body is manifested to express eroticism, which is culminated by body exposure, body consciousness, use of illuminating or see-through material or colorful trimming. Finally, elegant characteristic is revealed through feminity, sophistication, and harmony that are expressed with black and white colors, see-through material, or bead trimmings.

This study purposed to review the concept and characteristics of subculture theoretically and then to analyze subcultural hairstyles shown in the 20th century's fashion in terms of form, structure, texture, design line and design principle, which were formative factors of beauty art. The range of this study was from the 1950's to the 1990's, during which subcultural hairstyles, which were selected for this study, kept a unique formality as subcultural characteristics of each time were reflected in hairstyles. The hairstyles found in subcultural styles were reviewed as follows. From the formative analysis as the above, it was concluded that layer form was seen most frequently in the subcultural hairstyles. This may be because it has a lot of layers in hair, and enables to make more various forms with a simpler care than other hairstyles so that it is easy to show one's own characteristic or differentiate oneself from others. Thanks to the characteristics of layer form, horizontal and convex were often seen as design lines. As for a texture, straight often appeared. The texture of straight is naturally formed without any care applied on hair. The reason may be that most subcultures refused artificiality. Therefore, the characteristics of subcultural hairstyles may be that hairstyles are transformed into various forms and created into the styles appropriately for individual tastes so as to clearly express one's own idea and thought.

The purpose of the study was to investigate unique field of formative characteristics using copper wire, the present thesis aims at developing concept of hair art as a creative way, and recognizing the formative characteristics of copper wire as analyze and arrange the concept of hair art, formative, a way of practical application, material aspect, through literature, academic journals, photo data, and researched about prior piece, for example, architecture and costume with hair art, and then pieces of hair art were made. Influenced by the theory, applied the social phenomenon and the formative principles, produced the seven pieces which includes flying, composure, yahoo, harmony, balance, way, spring etc. The results of this research are outlined below. Firstly, It showed that the copper wire can express the mysterious and beautiful formative world, and it could know the possibility of design. Secondly, formative activity using copper wire can differ according to approach and interpretation, and it can be a works with aesthetic value. Thirdly, hair could be express the art of the three-dimensional forms which constitute the mixture of line, surface and space. Fourthly, the handicraft including beading, pleat, piping, rolling that used for works are proper to express the unique formative and the rich colors, and it can also express the transparency. So it showed that copper wire is a proper materials. So, hair art has enlarged the fields with development of technique, and changed to recognition of the hair art, and opened up a new field. Hair art will be positive fields to maximize the possibility, and not only the beauty artist but also the public will be communicate each other.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the formative characteristic of modern Tap dance costume according to its origin and kinds. For this purpose, the study explored the review of literature focusing on the historical back ground of Tap dance and investigated into the kinds of modern tap dance and the formative feature of the tap dance costume. Costumes of leading tap dancers in representative performances and movies are analyzed. The results are summarized as follows: The kinds of current tap dance could be categorized as three types of Jazz Tap Dance, Rhythm & Funk Tap Dance, Irish tap Dance as their development origin. The Tap dance widely distributed through the U.S. Hollywood movie, The Jazz Tap Dance costume was composed of magnificent and luxurious design applying the high fashion of the 1930s and 1950s in the male and female costumes. The U.S. Blacks' tap dance, Rhythm & Funk Tap costume had a close relation with resistant blacks' culture, and showing the type of free dressing not bound by previous tap dance dress. The Irish Tap Dance originated from Irish folk dance displayed the tap dance embroidered costume using the Irish traditional pattern. This study systemized the characteristic of the tap dance costume by kind, and explored the dress revealed at the tap dance as a symbolic system to the cultural zone where the dance is made.

Since environmental pollution emerges as an important issue, integration of academic discipline has been accomplished for development of environmental ethics. Combination of Buddhism and Ecology is the instance of this background. The background of this research is the assumption that from Seon Ecology standpoint, Buddhist temple would define conception of Seon Ecology specifically. The study based on advanced study about Seon Ecology, the peculiarity of Seon Ecology was dependent originations, order, the nature of Buddha, moderation, and impersonated nature. In addition, this study researched how these peculiarity has relation with traditional temples. This attempt has a significance in that finding a new approach of interpreting traditional temple and possibility of Seon Ecology Seon Ecology space formative concepts of traditional temple is cyclical allness, transitory balance, Denial of perfection and natural void characteristics from Seon Ecological studies. This study examined how characteristic of Seon Ecology is reflected in traditional temple, through analyzing Buseoksa-Anyangru, Bongjeongsa-Yeonsanam, Seonamsa simgeomdang, Songgwangsa woohwagak, Hwaamsa woohwaru which have remarkable characteristic of selection using above space formative concepts. traditional temple was filled with life coexisted with dynamics, independence, and equality within interrelationship between nature and architecture.

This study aims to apply the formative aesthetic of human body to the form of clothing. For this purpose I try to find the various methods of analysis used in the work of sculpture. The method of inference and the checklists of design are used to relate the sculpture with the clothing design specifically. This methodology intends to regard human body as an artistic form and use the image of sculpture to the maximum. Especially I try to derive the motives of design and recreate them in clothing design emphasizing silhouette. On this methodology, following results were developed. First, the observations on the formative characteristic of human body show that the transformed form of human body expresses more perfect image of human body than the original form. The power of simplicity heightens the total beauty of the work. Second, the image of human body expressed in simplicity heightens the total beauty of the work. Second, the image of human body expressed in simplicity and exaggeration can be variously recreated in a silhouette with the formative and cubic effect, simplicity, and activity. Third, the elegant and static image found in the analysis and synthesis of human body can be used as a motive of clothing design and the changed details lead to the transformation of silhouette. Fourth, in developing designs by the item of checklists, one motive can be variously recreated according to the methods of designs.

This study has outlined and summarized academic meaning of formative characteristics of Organic Modernism represented by various aspects of design, art, industry and architecture, then has intented to define concept of Organic Modernism Fashion. Eventually, this study is to make a analysis of formative characteristics of Organic Modernism Fashion Design. Based on example of Organic Modernism applied to architectural structure, industrial products and pure paintings, this study has analyzed and researched into formative characteristics of Organic Modernism represented by fashion design. As a consequence of study, its characteristics are defined as below; The first, the beauty of simple formation using delicate curve. The second, the expression of symbolic formation based on surrealism. The third, the expression of continuous 3-dimensional curved surface. And the last characteristic is a providing transformable multi-function. Through those characteristics mentioned above, it may be expected to define a concept of Organic Modernism Fashion Design newly and to set a precedent for providing a basic criteria to classify formative characteristics of Organic Modernism Fashion Design.
