Where there are all the flowers, the songs of all kinds of insects and birds are put in, the sunshine and shadows flicker The forest through which the water sound flows is an optimum resting space. All living creatures in these spaces will awaken the five senses of humans and perhaps turn the sensibility index (EQ). The forest meditation in the forest, which can be an optimal shelter for the people who need it, needs to feel the reverence of nature, to refine emotions, to be a self-reflection, to have a mind to respect, Have an important meaning. In this paper, we tried to consider the cause of the influence of forest sounds on human hearing from the acoustical aspect. The type of sound source of forest was divided into four seasons of spring, summer, autumn, winter. And the change in the duration of the sound during the four seasons, so that the general characteristics of the sounds of the four seasons are as follows: It can be seen that the change in the ratio of sub-band energy is almost equal to the change in dB in frequency of the equal-light curve. To compare this phenomenon, the criterion for changing the sound duration of each forest is natural The main forms of the luminance curve, such as the change in the duration of the white signal in the sound, are determined by the minimum, maximum audible frequency and the most sensitive frequency band, and the auditory characteristics of the other three inflection points Determines the overall shape of the equal-light curve.

This study was carried out four times on 2005 and 2006, respectively May and October to understand the bird community and habitat using condition in the Daegu Bulnogoboon Jayeon Madang (DBJM). In this study, 34 species and 332 individuals were observed. The dominant species were Passer montanus 22.0%, Pica pica 18.1%, Hypsipetes amaurotis 6.02% and Sinosuthora webbiana 5.72%, and the species diversity was 2.797. With migration, the highest number and percentage to the lowest was residents 61.7%, summer visitors 26.5% and winter visitors 11.8%. Among 24 species which bred(check or possibility) in the DBJM, canopy was 50.0%, hole was 37.5% and bush was 12.5% in their nesting guilds. In foraging guilds in breeding season was canopy was 58.1%, water was 19.3% and bush was 16.1%, and in non-breeding season, canopy was 54.8%, water 22.6% and bush 19.3%. For the habitats of the birds in the DBJM, wetlands including reservoir area were used by herons, ducks and Hirundo rustica, grassland area was used by Sinosuthora webbiana, buntings and Passer montanus, and forest area was used by Streptopelia orientalis, woodpeckers, Hypsipetes amaurotis and tits. The number of species and individuals of birds observed in the DBJM was higher than other urban parks. We suggest that this was attributed to various man-made habitats such as wetland with reservoir, grassland and forest area constructed in the DBJM.
This study was conducted to clarify the characteristics of attitudinal bird communities in Mt. Seoraksan National Park from May to Oct. 2004. Marsh tit Parus palustris, Arctic warbler Phylloscipus borealis, coal tit Parus ater and Eurasian nuthatch Sitta europaea evenly distributed in almost elevational ranges. Goshawk Accipiter gentilis, black grouse Tetrao tetrix, white-lumped swift Apus pacificus, Siberian rubythroat Luscinia calliope, red-flanked bluetail Tarsiger cyanurus, dusky warbler Phylloscopus fuscatus, yellow-browned warbler Phylloscopus inornatus, siskin Carduelis spinus and rook Corvus frugilegus were only observed in high altitude area. Distribution pattern of birds in Mt. Seoraksan National Park showed differences by elevation. There was difference in attitudinal distribution pattern of birds in Mt. Seoraksan National Park. It seems that habitat preference or selection is different in each species. Attitudinal habitat preference of each bird species need further studies.

This study was carried out to understand the bird community and habitat using condition in the Gildong natural ecological park, from April 2001 to March 2002. In this study, 63 species and 2,075 individuals were observed respectively. The dominant species were Paradoxornis webbianus(33.6%), Emberiza elegans 18.5%), Parus major(6.4%), Pica pica(6.0%), and the diversity of the species was 2.511. With migration, the highest number and percentage to the lowest was residents, summer visitors, winter visitors and passage migrants. Among 17 species which bred in the Gildong natural ecological park, hole(H) was 47.1%, canopy(C) was 41.1% and bush(B) was 11.8% in their nesting guilds. In foraging guilds in breeding season was canopy(c) was 45.7%, water(w) was 23.9% and bush(c) was 15.2%, and, in non-breeding season, canopy was 43.5%, water 23.9% and bush 21.7%. For the habitats of the birds in the Gildong natural cological park, reservoir area was used by herons, ducks and sandpiper, wetland area was used by Lanius bucephalus, Paradoxornis webbianus and buntings, grassland area was used by Paradoxornis webbianus and buntings, and forest area was used by Streptopelia orientalis, woodpeckers and tits. The number of species and individuals of birds observed in the Gildong natural ecological park was higher than other urban parks. We suggest that this was attributed to different habitats such as reservoir, wetland, grassland and forest area constructed in the Gildong natural ecological park.
This study was supposed to offer vegetation plans for functional improvement of the recreational forest by researching Mt. Chukryong which is located at Oebang-li Sudong-Myon Namyangju Kyong-gi Province in Korea. In this study, artificial vegetation and natural vegetation near trails in recreational forest were researched through biodiversity analysis. From this analysis process, a typical management improvement of the biodiversity functions were examined by reviewing functions biotope condition, vegetation structure and wild bird community condition. Typical vegetation system was divided into four detail parts: Managed artificial Pinus koraiensis forest, Not managed artificial Pinus koraiensis forest, Natural deciduous forest and Not managed deciduous forest. As a result of the vegetation structure, the numerical value of the deciduous forest species diversity was higher than that of artificial Pinus koraiensis, and the numerical value of the managed condition was higher than that of not managed condition. As a result of a habitat structure analysis of the wild bird community, managed Pinus koraiensis forests were inadequate structure for wild birds to habit in there because the forests had weak structure layers, but unmanaged deciduous forest and unmanaged Pinus koraiensis that had diverse layers was proper places for birds to in habit. Thus, based on the functional analysis of biodiversity, management patterns of the target area were concluded in two manners: conserving management and restoring management. Deciduous forest protection target areas included natural deciduous forest area and managed deciduous forest area, ecological restoration target area included unmanaged artificial Pinus koraiensis area and restoring management target area includes managed artificial Pinus koraiensis.
The study was conducted to get the basic information for proper protection and management of black-faced spoonbill and their habitats in western coast of South Korea. The species was observed in 8 sites of western coast of South Korea in spring 2000. We confirmed breeding of this species at least 4 pairs in Seokdo island. This island is considered likely to be an imortant breeding site together with Yodo island, Hambakdo island and Yokdo island. Also, we observed breeding of herring gull in Seokdo island and small island nearby Boleumdo island for the first time in South Korea. Chilsando island, Cheonsuman bay and Gyeokyeolbiyeoldo island were considered as stopovers located on the Korean Peninsula route. The other sites were considered as summering sites of the black-faced spoonbill. Especially the birds were constantly observed from breeding season to postbreeding season in Seonduri and Yeochari of Ganghwado island. We have counted maximum 88 individuals gathered at Gaksiyeo in Seonduri and Yeochari on September 3, 2000. The species seemed to gather at these sites after breeding for migration to wintering ground in September. We also surveyed changes of the number of individuals as time of the ebb and flow on September 3 and 6, 2000, their time budgets were affected by the ebb and flow in these sites.
This study was conducted to comprehend the breeding bird community of thirteen urban forests ranged in size from $0.63{\~}37.0$ ha and compare the species richness of streetscapes such as wooded streets, street trees, and green patches. In urban forests, among thirty-one species observed, two species of Pica pica and Parus major were observed in all study areas, but five species of Phoenicuros auroreus, Pericrocotus divaricatus, Eurystomus orientalis, Emberiza elegans, and Cettia squameiceps were observed only one areas. Number of species was high at urban forests of Manchon, Bonri and Chimsan parks distributed in peripheral area of city, that was low at urban forests Jungri, Igoksaengsu and Sinam parks located in the center area of city. We observed the nests at wooded streets and green patches, did not find at street trees. Number of species and density were significantly high at wooded streets than at street trees. Number of species was highly correlated with the area of forests, and srecies richness of bush-nesting guild was low. As the area of urban forests increase, species richness of bush-nesting and -foraging guild showed the relative low rate of increase than other nesting guild. Our results indicate that bush-nesting and -foraging guild of birds was not being provided with their good habitat at urban forests in Daegu city Among streetscapes, birds preferred to u9e the wooded streets and green patch as habitat and pathway in urban ecosystem.

A bird is needed efficient conservation through habitat management, as the representative of an organism to evaluate the steady of complex ecosystem. So, this study will offer the useful basic data for preserving habitat from now on, as presenting a estimating model with the GIS program which selected factors effecting the habitat of a forest-dwelling bird in Changwon. As the resort of the survey, the number of forest-dwelling birds living in the 135 survey sites were 5 order, 15 family, 26 species and 922 individual. Also, as the result of making habitat analysis into a predict model, 'NDVI', 'Distance to valley', 'Distance to mixed forest' and 'Area of field' were significant and they had R-squares of 51.3%. Next, as the resort of researching the accuracy of Model, it was a reasonable prediction, as the correlation coefficient is 0.735 and MAPE is 20.7%, and a predict map of habitat was made with the model. This map could predict species diversity of no investigated areas and could be an useful basic data for preserving habitat, as an on-the-spot survey.
Breeding bird surveys provide the reference information for understanding bird community structure and function in the ecosystem and conserving biodiversity. Recent rapid change of biodiversity due to climate change and other factors has made it necessary to utilize acoustic sensors for accuracy and spatial expansion of forest bird survey data and for time-series monitoring of forest birds. The objective of this study is to investigate the possibility of using acoustic recording sensor to evaluate the diversity of forest birds at breeding season by comparing and analyzing the recorded data of bird songs and field bird survey data. We conducted the site survey and recording in 186 points in 48 areas of 4 regions of Gombaeryeong and Jochimryeong around Jeombongsan Mountain and Jugryeong and Gochiryeong around Sobaeksan Mountain from May 2nd to 16th in 2013. The analysis of the correlation between the recording result and Bird Community Index based on the field survey showed that the number of bird species, population, and the number of bird songs by recording was significantly correlated to the number of species and population by field survey. Moreover, the number of bird species and the number of bird songs by recording showed a significant correlation to species diversity and species richness but no or low significant correlation to species evenness by the field study (observation and listing in parallel). As a result, it was possible to check species composition and species diversity of bird communities by analyzing acoustic recording data on the field. The acoustic recordings of bird songs in the breeding period were more reliable than the non-breeding period in the correlation of recording result and species diversity and for utilization.
For balanced development of ornithological research in Korea, it is important to review what birds and what research topics have been studied so far. We quantitatively investigated the trends of domestic ornithological research using text-mining and co-word analysis. As a result of studying 372 articles published in the Korean Journal of Ornithology, which is the most representative ornithological journals, words related to research topics such as population and community monitoring, first record of species and breeding ecology, and heavy metal pollution in birds have been widely used in research articles. Except for subjects such as monitoring and first record of species, studies have not been conducted widely. It was also found that research were concentrated on specific birds such as Anas platyrhynchos, Calidris alpina, and Anas poecilorhyncha. The present study, which analyzed the research topics and avian taxa that were relatively active until now and those which were insufficient, suggests what we should do in the future for the balanced development of ornithological research in Korea.
