Penetrating neck injuries constitute 5-10% of all trauma cases. These injuries may cause life-threatening suppurative or vascular complications, but the severity and extent of damage depends upon the inflicting object and the involved structures. If significant complications are not expected, then it is best to leave the foreign body embedded and avoid surgical risks. We present a rare case of a foreign body embedded in the neck causing tinnitus and foreign body sensation.

There are a lot of dental emergency situation. Especially on disabled or pediatric patient with negative behavior, accidental aspiration or ingestion of foreign body (ex: dental instrument) is one of the common accidents in dental procedure. Dentists and dental hygienists must have knowledge about the precaution and be ready to deal with foreign body aspiration during dental treatment, especially on the disabled. This is a case of an accident during the dental treatment of 14-year-old female patient with cerebral palsy. During scaling, prolonged retained primary tooth which had resorbed roots was fell into left bronchi. So we tried to remove the crown by endotracheal approach. Most ingested foreign bodies pass through the gastrointestinal tract spontaneously, but some of them need endoscopic or surgical removal. Moreover aspiration into broncho-trachea can be more serious events and must be treated as emergency situation.

Foreign body in the air passage is not uncommon in the field of otolaryngology. The majority of bronchial foreign bodies can be removed by bronchoscopy, but some cases may require surgical procedure. Recently, we experienced an impacted foreign body (ball-pointed pen cap) in the left main bronchus with pneumothorax on the right side. Authors tried bronchoscopic removal under the general anesthesia but failed. Lateral thoracotomy was performed by chest surgeon and foreign body was successfully removed.

Like in other trade negotiations covering comprehensive sectors, it is reported that KOREA-US FTA tried so-called 'package deal' at the last minutes, when telecom services sector was positioned at the forefront and expected to partly play a role in buffering US' market-opening pressure on other sectors. Before everything else, Korean negotiators had to enhance the value of foreign ownership deregulation in telecom services sector as a leverage in the course of KOREA-US FTA negotiations. In addition, since foreign ownership change, if any, is highly sensitive issue either politically or policy-wise, it seems very difficult to find a breakthrough. Focusing on foreign ownership regulation in telecom services sector, this paper seeks how Korea has developed its strategic reasoning for negotiations and evaluates the outcomes of KOREA-US FTA negotiations.

Domestic construction industry has seen a negative image in the sense that various accident occurs frequently. Status of construction accidents in the case of domestic workers is reduced. However, if the situation of foreign workers is increasing every year. This study aims to create high-temperature exposure standard table for foreign workers and domestic workers in the analysis through the discomfort index of fatalities and using the WBGT index for reducing fatalities foreign workers to improve the image of the construction industry.

Foreign body aspiration occurs uncommonly in adults. A review of recent reports reveals only a few case reports on this topic. We have experienced 8 cases of endobronchial foreign bodies in adults from June 1988 to February 1991 which were removed successfully with fiberoptic bronchoscope and biopsy forceps. Only one of them had the primary disorder predisposing aspiration. Foreign bodies were located in right lower lobe (3 cases), right intermediate (2 cases), left lower lobe (2 cases) and left upper lobe bronchus (1 cases). Removal of endobronchial foreign boides in adult would be accomplished by fiberoptic bronchoscopy successfully.

Foreign bodies in air and food passages are not uncommon conditions in otolaryngological field and we can find out numerous causes of esophageal foreign bodies in literatures. Radiological exammination is essential and important method in diagnosis of foreign bodies in esophagus. The authors experienced a case of foreign body double coins, in esophagus in a 4-year - old girl and the authors emphasizing that in cases of esophageal foreign bodies radiological examination should always be included lateral view as well as anteroposterior view of neck especially when coins in the esophagus is suspected.

Singapore's inward and outward investments with industrialized countries in both manufacturing and service sectors were skill seeking while outward investments to developing countries were labor seeking. Applying the Knowledge-Capital model, it was found that services Foreign Direct Investment is sensitive to skill differences. A ten-percent decline in skill differences with industrialized countries resulted in a 4.25 percent rise in inbound manufacturing and 1.48 percent rise in inbound services investments. Meanwhile, a ten-percent increase in skill differences with developing countries resulted in a 30 percent rise in outbound manufacturing and 0.38 percent rise in services investments. Furthermore, when services are distinguished by skill-intensity, the impact of relative skill endowments on inbound Foreign Direct Investment in skill-intensive services is significantly different from the impact on other services. However, when services are disaggregated by "proximity" needs, we do not find any significant difference in the impact of relative skill endowments on Foreign Direct Investment.

This paper discusses an important dimension of the globalization of science by investigating the lived experiences of nineteen expatriate scientists in six institutions in South Korea. Although much has been written on the globalization and science, few works have dealt with scientific experts? migration across national borders in contemporary contexts. In this regard, the lives of foreign science professors in Korea offer an interesting case, as they illustrate how the ideas of global science both clash with and appropriate Korea?s local practices and discourses. I argue that the globality of science is a main factor that fosters the continued Korean stay of many foreign scientists, who manage and appropriate what is entailed in this globality, namely, Korea?s perceived status as a peripheral country in the dynamics between "center" and "periphery." This includes several strategies and unintended situations differing according to each foreign scientist?s ethnic origins, professional experiences, and institutional circumstances, which lead them to make sense of their continued stay in Korea.

The objective of this paper is to examine whether it is feasible to introduce an crude oil futures contract on domestic commodity exchange in order to minimize the price risks of imported crude oil. In addition. this study suggests the policy issues to promote futures trading and the alternatives to use foreign energy compares the five criteria to evaluate the feasibility of crude oil futures trading on the domestic exchange. Related to the possibility of successful futures trading of imported crude oil on the domestic exchange, they are evaluated as follows: it is highly possible to succeed for the aspects of price volatility, potential market size or liquidity, and commodity homogeneity; but it is inappropriate for the aspects of deliverable amounts and market power or market structure. Therefore, it is concluded that trading a new futures contract for the underlying imported crude oil on the domestic exchange is inappropriate. For the policy issues and the hedging alternatives, first, it is urgent to establish an atmosphere for futures trading by promoting spot trading. Second, for the case of futures trading on the domestic exchange it is important to consider the simultaneous hedging of crude oil price and foreign exchange risks and mutual offsetting mechanism with major foreign exchanges. Third, for the case of futures trading on foreign exchanges it is reasonable to regard cooperation among concerned companies, government support for futures trading and direct participation into futures trading by the government.
