The Vowel Length as a Function of the Articulatory Force of the Following Consonants in Korean

  • This study was designed to determine (1) the effects of the following stop consonant on the vowel length in isolated bi-syllabic words, (2) the mechanism which renders vowels longer in duration before lax stops than tense stops, (3) where the aspiratory interval is included, in the vowel portion or the preceding consonantal portion and (4) the influence of the preceding consonants upon the duration of the following vowel. Measurements were made of five timing variables on acoustic signals as three native Korean speakers uttered isolated bi-syllabic /VCV/ words in which the vowel was identical, /$\alpha$/, and the C slot was filled with bilabial stops. Findings: (1) the vowel length before the lax stops was significantly longer than before the tense stops, while the difference in the vowel duration between the tense stops was insignificant or negligible, (2) the vowel length varied as a function of the articulatory force of the following consonants, regardless of the phonological unit of syllable, (3) The aspiratory interval is interpreted as a portion of the preceding consonant and (4) The effects of the preceding consonants on the final vowel length were not rule-governed.

트라이포드 타입 등속조인트의 다물체 동역학 해석 (Multi-body Dynamic Analysis for Tripod Constant Velocity Joint)

  • The paper proposes a multi-body dynamic simulation to numerically evaluate the generated axial force(G.A.F) and plunging resistant force(P.R.F) practically related to the shudder and idling vibration of an automobile. A numerical analysis of two plunging types of CV joints, tripod joint(TJ) and very low axial tripod joint(VTJ), is conducted using the commercial program DAFUL. User-defined subroutines of a friction model illustrating the contacted parts of the outboard and inboard joint are subsequently developed to overcome the numerical instability and improve the solution performance. The Coulomb friction effect is applied to describe the contact models of the lubricated parts in the rolling and sliding mechanisms. The numerical results, in accordance with the joint articulation angle variation, are validated with experimentation. The offset between spider and tulip housing is demonstrated to be the critical role in producing the 3rd order component of the axial force that potentially causes the noise and vibration in vehicle. The VTJ shows an excellent behavior for the shudder when compared with TJ. In addition, a flexible nonlinear contact analysis coupled with rigid multi-body dynamics is also performed to show the dynamic strength characteristics of the rollers, housing, and spider.

마비말장애 환자의 혀의 강도.운동범위와 말명료도에 관한 연구 (Tongue Strength, Range of Motion, and Speech Intelligibility in Dysarthric Speakers)

  • The purpose of the present study were (1) to assess differences in tongue performances and speech intelligibility between normal and dysarthric speakers; and (2) to analyze the possible interrelationships between tongue strength, range of motion, and speech intelligibility in dysarthric patients. In order to measure maximum strength of anterior and lateral tongue strength, a force transducer has been designed. And a ruler was used for guaging range of motion. 'Word intelligibility test' was administered to each group. The results were analyzed by a quantitative statistical method(t test, Pearson product- moment correlation, and one-way ANOVA). The results were as follows; (1) dysarthric speakers showed significantly poorer performance than the normal in the tongue strength, range of motion, and speech intelligibility tasks; (2) the correlation between speech intelligibility and instrumental tongue performance was high in the dysarthric group; and (3) instrumental assessment was coincide with perceptual judgement of dysarthric tongue performance. The present investigation demonstrated that tongue weakness is causally related to articulation deficits in dysarthric. The clinical use of the force transducer would help a speech pathologist to quantify the degree of tongue weakness.

  • The purpose of this paper is to introduce a case study of developing a miniature biped robot. The biped robot has a total of twenty-one degrees of freedom(DOF) ; There are two legs which have six DOF each, two arms which have three DOF each and a waist which has three DOF. RC servo-motors were used as actuators. We have developed motor controller, sensor controller and ISA-interface card. Motor controller, PWM generator, can control eight motors Sensor controller is connected to eight FSR(Force Sensing Resistors). For high level controller communicate with low level controller, ISA-interface card has developed. For the stable walking, CMAC(Cerebellar Model Articulation Controller) neural network algorithm is applied to our system CMAC is robust at noise.

자동차용 등속 조인트의 내부 마찰 모델 개발 (Development of Internal Friction Model in Automotive Constant Velocity Joints)

  • An internal friction model was developed to model the frictional behavior of automotive Constant Velocity (CV) joints by using the test data from an instrumented CV joint friction apparatus with actual driveshaft assemblies. Experiments were conduced under different realistic operating conditions of oscillatory speeds, CV joint articulation angles, lubrication, and torque. The experimental data were used to develop a physics-based semi-empirical CV joint internal friction coefficient model as a function of different CV Joint operating parameters. It was found that the proposed friction model captures the experimental results well not only the static behavior of friction coefficient, but also the dynamic friction terms, which is the main source of force that causes vehicle vibration problems.

  • 본 연구는 축소모형 실험을 통하여 급곡선 터널에서의 쉴드 TBM 추진압력 적용 기술에 대한 논문이다. 최근 한국의 도심지 지역에서 NATM 터널 공사에 발생하는 진동 및 소음 문제를 예방하기 위해 기계식 터널공법인 쉴드 TBM 공법의 적용이 증가하고 있다. 그러나 건물 기초 및 지하 구조물을 피하기 위해 터널 선형이 급곡선으로 계획하여야 하며 쉴드 TBM 추진압력 시스템에 대한 적용 기술의 개발이 요구된다. 따라서 곡선구간에 대한 쉴드 TBM 굴진 시 영향을 주는 주요 요소들에 대하여 시공자료와 이론적 접근방법에 대하여 검토 및 분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과로부터 쉴드 TBM 추진압력 시스템에 대한 기술이 급곡선 터널에 있어서 가장 중요한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 지반과 쉴드 TBM 헤드부의 상호 거동에 대한 실질적인 상황을 시뮬레이션 하기 위하여 축소모형시험을 실시하였다. 2가지의 서로 다른 쉴드 추진력과 여러 중절각도에 따라 쉴드 TBM 헤드에 가해지는 지반압력에 대하여 측정하였다. 이 실험으로부터 얻어진 결과를 분석 하였다. 이들 결과는 급곡구간 터널에서 쉴드 TBM 추진 압력에 따른 쉴드 TBM 헤드부의 상호거동에 대한 이해와 운영기술 발전에 매우 유용할 것이다.

슬개대퇴관절의 해부학과 생체역학에 관한 문헌적 고찰 (Anatomy and Biomechanics of the Patellofemoral Joint)

  • The patellofemoral pint is formed by the articulation of the patella and femoral condyles in the trochlear groove. The complexity of the patellofemoral pint is magnified by the fact that the tibiofemoral pint works in conjunction with the patellofemoral pint. Additionally, other pints such as the subtalar pint., hip and sacroiliac pints indirectly contribute to the function of the patellofemoral pint. This pint has little bony stability, Soft tissue surrounds the pint to increase stability. The patellofemoral pint increases the mechanical advantage of the quadriceps muscles and resists mechanical loading. In patellofemoral dysfunction, patellofemoral contact pattern is disrupted. leading to excessive compression at the pint. When you treat the patellofemoral dysfunction, you should evaluate anatomic and biomechanic components and find factors of patellofemoral dysfunction. Hamstring tightness. weakness of VMO and tightness of lateral retinaculum lead to flexed knee and abnormal patella tracking and patellofemoral pint reaction force and patellofemoral dysfunction. A through understanding of the anatomy and biomechanics may assist the clinician in the recognition and treatment of patients with patellofemoral pain. Therefore physical therapists should apply modality as well as therapeutic exercise, stretching and strengthening. In this paper, I will discuss the germane anatomical structures and biomechanics of the patellofemoral pint.

견갑 흉곽 해리 증후군(1례 보고) (Scapulothoracic Dissociation (A Case Report))

  • Scapulothoracic dissociation is a rare entity that consists of the disruption of the scapulothoracic articulation. The mechanism of injury is probably traction caused by a blunt force to the shoulder girdle. This lesion is characterized by massive soft-tissue swelling of the shoulder; lateral displacement of the scapula, an injury to bone, and a severe neurovascular injury. An l8-year-old man sustained a scapulothoracic dissociation as a result of severe shoulder girdle trauma. We report the diagnostic method, clinical and surgical management.

  • 견갑-흉곽 해리는 둔상이나, 견갑부 전외측 방향으로 가해진 강한 견인력에 의해 견갑-흉곽 관절의 붕괴를 야기하는 드문 손상이다. 이 손상은 견갑부에 피부 손상은 없으나 심한 부종, 손상받은 견갑부의 외측이동으로 특징 지어지며, 많은 경우에 다양한 근골격계 손상과 신경혈관 손상이 동반된다. 본원에서는 체포과정에서 발생된 33세 남자환자에서 골절과 혈관 손상이 관찰되지 않은 견갑-흉곽 해리를 경험하였기에, 진단 방법과 임상 양상, 치료 방침을 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다.

상전도흡인식 도시형 자기부상열차의 분기기 주행안전성 연구 (Study on Running Safety of EMS-Type Maglev Vehicle Traveling over a Switching System)

  • 자기부상열차에 있어서 분기기는 차량이 가이드레일과 접촉 없이 안전하게 노선을 변경할 수 있도록 설계돼야 한다. 특히, 별도의 안내 전자석이 없이 하나의 U-형 전자석으로 부상력과 안내력을 동시에 얻는 중저속 상전도흡인식 자기부상열차에 있어서는 분기기 통과시 안전성에 대한 검토가 요구된다. 이 방식에서는 안내력을 능동적으로 제어하지 않기 때문에 작은 곡률 반경이면서도 다수의 직선을 연결하여 곡선을 형성하는 관절형 분기기 통과시 전자석의 횡공극이 과도하게 발생하여 가이드레일과 기계적 접촉을 일으킬 수 있기 때문이다. 본 논문에서는 개발 중인 관절식 분기기에서 차량의 주행안전성 향상을 위하여 관절식 분기기의 주 설계 변수의 안전성에의 영향을 분석하는데 목적이 있다. 그를 통하여 분기기에서의 주행안전성을 향상하고자 한다. 이를 수행하기 위하여 2 량 1 편성으로 구성된 3 차원 전체차량 다물체 동역학 모델의 적용이 제안된다. 제안된 모델을 이용하여 분기기 통과시의 주행안전성척도 중의 하나의 횡공극 시뮬레이션이 이루어진다. 분석되는 설계 변수들은 단경간 거더의 길이와 굴절각, 끝단 고정궤도 중심 사이의 거리, 거더의 수량이다. 이러한 설계 변수들의 영향을 분석하여 안전성 향상을 위한 분기기 설계 방향을 제시한다.
