The aim of this study is to obtain the useful design guideline for high impulsive force device with an isolation system by the analytic approach of dynamics characteristics. In this study, the high impulsive force system was modeled and analyzed in view of multi-body dynamics, and verified the modeling and analysis result by the experiment of the high impulsive force device. Additionally, the dynamic analysis was performed for the isolation system with the selected coefficients of elastic spring and damper selected. Experimental result for the high impulsive force device with the isolation system was compared and analyzed. From the result, it was confirmed that the design guideline for the isolation system of the high impulsive force device was useful.
The optimal design for a leading car considering the aerodynamic resistance is required on the high-speed train due to increasing of ratio of drag force with proportion for the square of velocity. The aerodynamic analysis using CFD in the stage of concept design offers more economical analysis method which is used to estimate the influence of flow and pressure around the leading car than the experimental method using the Mock-up. In this study, we want to assist the artistic design with aerodynamics analysis in order to get the optimal design for leading car with the operation speed of 180km/h. The results of aerodynamic analysis for two leading car models which one is expressed with lineal beauty and the other is with curvaceous beauty are compared with each other and they offer the proposal of modification for two models in order to decrease the drag force. The shape of curvaceous model is better for the pressure force but slightly worse for the viscous force than the other. The Fluent software is used for the calculation of flow profile in this study.
Since its development in the early 1980's the force balance technique has become a standard method in the efficient determination of structural loads and responses. Its usefulness lies in the simplicity of the physical model, the relatively short records required from the wind tunnel testing and its versatility in the use of the data for different sets of dynamic properties. Its major advantage has been the ability to provide results in a timely manner, assisting the structural engineer to fine-tune their building at an early stage of the structural development. The analysis of the wind tunnel data has evolved from the simple un-coupled system to sophisticated methods that include the correction for non-linear mode shapes, the handling of complex geometry and the handling of simultaneous measurements on multiple force balances for a building group. This paper will review some of the components in the force balance data analysis both in historical perspective and in its current advancement. The basic formulation of the force balance methodology in both frequency and time domains will be presented. This includes all coupling effects and allows the determination of the resultant quantities such as resultant accelerations, as well as various load effects that generally were not considered in earlier force balance analyses. Using a building model test carried out in the wind tunnel as an example case study, the effects of various simplifications and omissions are discussed.
Numerical analysis of slope stability is presented using slice method, static seismic analysis methods, and earthquake response analysis methods. Static seismic force is considered as 0.2g while vertical static seismic force is not considered in analysis. For earthquake response analysis, Hachinohe-wave is applied. Safety factor calculated using slice method for failure surface. Calculating methods are Bishop's method and Janhu's method. Static seismic analysis was applied using Mhor-Coulomb model and earthquake response analysis was applied using non-linear elastic model.
Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor (PMLSM) has high efficiency, high energy density, and high control-ability. But, the detent force always is produced by the structure of slot-teeth. There are the disadvantages such as noise and vibration of the apparatuses are induced and the control ability is curtailed because detent force acts as thrust ripple. Therefore, the detent force reduction is an essential requirement in PMLSM. Generally, the method, skewing permanent magnet or slot-teeth, is used to reduce the detent force. But the thrust is decreased at the same time. If permanent magnet is skewed, the lateral force which operates as the perpendicular direction of skew direction is generated in linear guide of PMLSM. So, V-skew model is proposed for the reduction of lateral force. The lateral force acts as braking force in linear motion guide, and it has bad influence to the characteristics of PMLSM. However, these problems will not be solved by 2-dimensional Finite Element Analysis (FEA). So, in this paper 3-dimensional FEA is applied to analyze the PMLSM where permanent magnet is skewed and has overhang. The detent force and thrust characteristics considering skew and overhang effects of permanent magnet are analyzed by 3-dimensional FEA and the results are compared with experimental values to verify the propriety of analysis.
This paper addresses both theoretical and experimental studies of the stability of haptic interfaces during the simulation of virtual Coulomb friction. The first objective of this paper is to present an analysis of how friction affects stability in terms of the describing function method and the absolute stability theory. Two different feedback methods are introduced and are used to evaluate the analysis: an active force feedback, using a motor, and a passive force feedback, using controllable brake. The second objective of this paper is to present a comparison of the theoretical and experimental results. The results indicate that the sustained oscillations due to the limit cycle occur when simulating friction with an active force feedback. In contrast, a passive force feedback can simulate virtual friction without the occurrence of instability. In conclusion, a hybrid active/passive force feedback is proposed to simulate a highly realistic friction display.
This paper deals with skew and overhang effects of permanent magnet linear synchronous motor(PMLSM). The detent force and thrust characteristics considering skew and overhang effects of permanent magnet are analyzed by 3D finite element method and the results are compared to experimental values. As skew and overhang are applied to permanent magnet, the thrust is almost the same value but the detent force is reduced remarkably. By harmonic analysis, the distortion ratio of thrust is remarkably reduced from 4.29[%] to 2.3[%]. and, the ripple ratio of thrust is decreased from 8.2[%] to 3.56[%] at the same time. But, the lateral force which operate as the perpendicular direction of skew direction is generated. The lateral force and normal force acts by braking force between mover and LM-guide.
In this paper, kinematic analysis and design of constant force mechanisms which employ a linear spring are studied. Firstly, sufficient conditions for the mechanisms to be the constant force mechanisms are derived in terms of displacement variables through the kinematic analysis. Secondly, a few conceptual mechanisms satisfying these constraints are proposed.

Vibrational properties of ferrocyanide complex ion, $[Fe(CN)_6]^{4-}$ , have been studied based on the force constants obtained from the density functional calculations at B3LYP/$6-31G^{\ast\ast}$ level by means of the normal mode analysis using new bond angle and linear angle internal coordinates recently developed. Vibrations of ferrocyanide were manipulated by twenty-three symmetry force constants. The angled bending deformations of C-Fe-C, the linear bending deformations of Fe-C${\equiv}$N and the stretching vibrations of Fe-C have been quantitatively assigned to the calculated frequencies. The force constants in the internal coordinates employed in the modified Urey-Bradley type potential were evaluated on the density functional force field applied, and better interaction force constants in the internal coordinates have been proposed. The valence force constants in the general quadratic valence force field were also given. The stretch-stretch interaction and stretch-bending interaction constants are not sensitive to the geometrical displacement in the valence force field.
The study is concerned with the analysis of the required loads and torque in the Three-Roll Power Spinning Process by using the Method of Force Polygon Diagram. Experiments are carried out using pure lead billets at room temperature. The radial force, the axial force and the torque occurring during the process are calculated theoretically and are compared with the experimental data. An approximate load distribution is known by the Force Polygon Diagram.
