홀스타인 착유우에서 중성세제불용섬유소의 수준과 조사료유래 중성세제불용섬유소의 수준이 사료섭취량 및 유생산성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Levels of Total Neutral Detergent Fiber and Forage-derived Neutral Detergent Fiber on Feed Intake and Milk production in Holstein Dairy Cows)

  • 본 연구는 사료 내 총NDF 수준과 조사료에서 기인된 NDF 수준(fNDF)이 착유우에서의 영양소 섭취량과 유생산성에 미치는 영향을 평가하기 위하여 실시하였다. 분만우 36두를 대상으로 6개의 처리구를 나누어 $2{\times}3$ 요인실험으로 설계를 하였고, 각 처리구별 사료는 건물기준 NDF 38%에 1) fNDF 18%, 2) fNDF 15%, 3) fNDF 12% 와 건물기준 NDF 34%에 4) fNDF 18%, 5) fNDF 15%, 6) fNDF 12%로 구분하여 분만 후 3주부터 20주까지 급여하였으며 결과의 처리는 분만 4주부터 영양소 섭취량 및 산유성적을 분석하였다. 사료 내 총 NDF 함량과 fNDF 함량이 감소함에 따라 건물섭취량, NEl 섭취량 그리고 비구조탄수화물 섭취량이 유의적으로(p<0.01) 증가하였고, 통계적인 유의성은 없었으나 유생산량 또한 다소 증가하는 경향이었으며 유지방율은 감소하였다(p<0.01). 건물섭취량의 증가에 따른 NEl 섭취량의 증가가 유발되었고, NDF 섭취량은 감소하였음에도 불구하고 NDF 함량이 낮은 처리구와 높은 처리구간의 비교에서 유지방율에 대한 유의적인 차이를 나타내지는 않았다. 총 NDF와 조사료유래 NDF의 사료 내 함량변화는 유단백질율과 무지유고형분 함량에는 영향을 미치지 않았지만, 유단백질 함량과 무지유고형분 생산량에 있어서는 유량 증가에 의한 영향으로 증가하는 경향을 나타내었다. 조사료유래 NDF 섭취량과 유지방율 간의 상관관계는 저수준 NDF 함량에서 고수준 NDF 함량보다 높게 나타났으며 유량과 영양소 섭취량간의 상관관계 또한 저수준의 NDF 처리구에서 고수준 처리구보다 높게 나타났다.

호밀건초 Pellet 조제시 NaOH 처리가 사료가치에 미치는 효과 (Effect of Sodium Hydroxide Treatment on Nutritive Value of Pelleted Rye Hay)

  • This syudy was conducted to increase the utility of forage rye which are suitable to be cultivated at high altitude Taekwllyong area. For that purpose two cultivars of rye (winter-more, kool-glazer) were cultivated for 3years using a randomized block design with 3 replications. The dry matter digestibility (DMD) was evaluated with the pelleted rye hay produced by adding sodium hydroxide and then the TDN value was calculated by the DMD. By adding NaOH, DMD and TDN value of rye pellets (Y=46.92+ 1.8X, ~ 0 . 9 7 )w ere increased significantly (p<0.05) and NDF (neutral detergent fiber) decrease significantly. However, ADF (acid detergent fiber) and lignin did not significantly decrease (p<0.05). Rye could be cultivated as a second crop after com at high altitude area in the same year and pelleted with NaOH in order to increase the nutritive values (p< 0.05). Varietal Differences of Nutrient Quality of Rape in Spring Sowing

  • This study was conducted to investigate the possibility that oil seed rape could be used as a forage fodder crop and to select the most suitable variety of forage rape at the southern area of Korea, Two varieties of oil seed rape currently grown for oil production and six introduced varieties of forage rape with relatively high yield and high nutritional value were grown at the same condition and their nutritional value were observed in Spring. Generally, rape was considered as a useful forage fodder crop with high content of crude protein and low contents of NDF, ADF, hemicellulose, cellulose and lignin. Differences in mean values of the above characters between two groups of rape were not statistically significant. Velox showed significantly higher content of crude protein and significantly lower contents of NDF, ADF, hemicellulose, cellulose and lignin compared with other varieties of forage rape in spring. Rape was relatively high in IVDMD compared with other forage fodder crops, and forage rape was more or less in IVDMD and DDMW than oil seed rape. Velox was the highest in IVDMD and DDMW among the varieties of forage rape in Spring, in this experiment.

근적외선 분광법에 의한 춘계 파종 사초의 성분추정 (Prediction on the Quality of Forage Crop Seeded in Spring by Near Infrared Reflectance Spectroscopy (NIRS))

  • 본 연구는 춘파용 사초의 사료가치를 신속하고 정확하게 측정할 수 있는 습식분석의 대안을 모색하기 위하여 수행하였다. 근적외선분광 분석법을 이용한 사초의 분석 가능성을 타진하기 위해 2009년에 생산된 사초 175점을 시료로 사용하였다. 시료는 이탈리안 라이그라스와 보리, 그리고 완두를 혼파한 것으로 NIR System으로 400~2,400nm 사이의 파장을 얻었다. 그리고 수분, 조단백질, 조회분, NDF, ADF를 분석한 다음, 파장과 습식분석치를 이용하여 중회귀식을 만들어 미지의 시료를 분석할 수 있는가를 검증하였다. 근적외선 분석법의 중요한 지표는 결정계수 $r^2$와 표준오차이며, 본 실험의 결과에서 검량식의 $r^2$는 수분, CP (crude protein), CA (crude Ash), ADF(acid detergent fiber), NDF (neutral detergent fiber)에서 각각 0.65, 0.97, 0.93, 0.99, 0.97을 보여주었다. 검증식은 그 값이 0.15, 0.94, 0.96, 0.98, 0.98이었다. 본 실험 결과, 근적외선 분광법을 이용한 춘계 파종 조사료의 품질 예측이 가능하며, 수분을 제외한 모든 성분에서 이 방법의 가능성을 보여주었다. 정확도를 높이기 위해서는 대표적인 시료가 검량식개발에 사용되어야 할 것으로 사료되었다.

  • Near infrared reflectance spectroscopy(NIRS)로 포장를 평가하기 위하여 일건 알파파 건초 5점의 조단백질, NDF, ADF 함량을 측정하였으며 NIRS와 전통적인 문화저방법에 의한 분석치를 비교하였다. 조단백질과 ADF의 량은 NIRS와 화학분석 식간간에 차이가 없었으나 NDF의 함량은 시료번호 2, 4.5에서 유의착(P<0.05)가 있었다.)가 있었다.

Correlations among Shearing Force, Morphological Characteristic, Chemical Composition, and In situ Digestibility of Alfalfa (Medicago sativa L) Stem

  • Alfalfa (Medicago sativa L) is a high-quality forage for ruminants and the main stem is the dominant morphological component contributing to the forage nutritive value in mature alfalfa forage. Shearing force, a fracturing property of plant stem, is an important indictor of forage value. The objectives of this study were to investigate the effects of morphological characteristic on shearing force, the relationship between shearing force and chemical composition, and the relationship between shearing force and in situ digestibility of alfalfa stem. The results showed that linear density (weight per unit length of stem) was more important than chemical composition in affecting shearing force. There was a positive relationship between lignin content and shearing force (r = 0.78). Correlations were not found between shearing force and other chemical components such as neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent fiber (ADF), cellulose and hemicelluloses. In situ digestibility (of dry matter and NDF) was related to shearing force. A negative correlation was found between shearing force and dry matter (DM) digestibility (r = -0.70), and there was also a negative correlation between shearing force and NDF digestibility (r = -0.87). When shearing force was standardized for stem diameter or stem linear density, the relationship between shearing force and digestibility was consistent regardless of stem diameter and stem linear density. Shearing force was significantly correlated with lignin content and in situ digestibility (of DM and NDF), and was a more direct indicator for estimating forage nutritive value related to animal performance, so it can be used to predict the forage value of alfalfa.

Effects of Alfalfa and Brown Mid-rib Corn Silage and Level of Forage Neutral Detergent Fiber on Animal Performance of Lactating Cows in Michigan

  • Alfalfa silage and corn silage are the major dairy feeds in most dairy operations in Michigan, USA. In recent years, the need to improve digestible fiber and dry matter intake of forages to meet the nutrient requirements of high yielding dairy cows and the willingness to plant corn specifically for silage has led plant breeders to focus on the brown mid-rib (BMR) trait. The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of different ratio of alfalfa to BMR corn silage and ration level of forage neutral detergent fiber (NDF) on animal performance of lactating cows in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. This study was conducted at the Upper Peninsula Experiment Station of Michigan State University in Chatham, Michigan, USA. Two different ratios of forage type (high alfalfa silage/low BMR corn silage, AS, and high BMR corn silage/low alfalfa silage, BMRCS) and two different dietary NDF contents (27% NDF, 27 = low forage/high grain feeding, and 33% NDF, 33 = high forage/low grain feeding) were used. The experimental design was a $4{\times}4$ Latin Square with 20 milking cows (12 multiparous and 8 primiparous). This trial had four 21-day periods with 14 d adaptation and 7 d data collection. Milk yield and body condition score (BCS) on the AS-27, BMRCS-27 and BMRCS-33 treatments were significantly (p<0.05) higher than on the AS-33 treatment. Dry matter intake of the AS-27 and BMRCS-27 treatments was significantly (p<0.05) higher than for the AS-33 and BMRCS-33 treatments. Milk urea nitrogen (MUN) on the AS-33 treatment was significantly (p<0.05) higher than on the other diet treatments. A key finding of this study was that the BMRCS-33 (higher amounts of brown mid-rib corn silage than alfalfa silage, high forage and low grain feeding diet at 33% NDF) led to the equal highest milk production whilst having the equal lowest dry matter intake. This study demonstrated that the diet with higher ratio of highly digestible NDF forage such as brown mid-rib corn silage to alfalfa silage could lower grain feeding in the ration.

권역별 답리작 사료작물 최대 생산을 위한 적작목(품종) 선발 2. 호남지방(익산)을 중심으로 (Selection of Promising Forage Crops and Variety for Forage Production in Paddy Field 2. Honam region(Iksan))

  • 본 연구는 답리작에서 양질의 조사료를 최대한 생산하기 위한 적정 사료작물을 선발하고자 전북 익산에서 보리(5품종), 밀(2), 호밀(3), 이탈리안 라이그라스(IRG, 3)등 4작목 13품종을 공시하여 $1999{\sim}2001$년까지 3년간 생육단계별로 생육특성, 수량 및 사료가치를 조사하였다. 보리의 출수기는 4월 $26{\sim}5$월 1일, 유숙기는 5월 중순, 유숙기${\sim}$황숙기 기준 건물수량은 ha당 $6.66{\sim}10.47$톤, 평균 ADF는 $31.64\%$, NDF는 $62.2\%$였고, 5품종 중 알보리가 가장 우수하였다. 밀은 보리에 비해 출수 및 성숙이 1주일 가까이 늦었으나 수량성이 높고 사료가치가 우수하역 유숙기${\sim}$황숙기 기준 건물수량은 $7.51{\sim}11.96$톤, 평균 ADF는 $30.6\%$, NDF는 $60.1\%$였다. 호밀은 출수기가 4월 26일경이었으며, 초장이 140cm 내외로 개화 이후 도복이 심하였고, 개화기 건물수량은 17.26톤으로 많았으며, 사료가치는 ADF $38.6\%$, NDF $65.5\%$로 가장 낮았다. 중만생 IRG는 출수가 늦어 답리작용으로 권장하기 어려웠으며, 조생 IRG는 4월 30일에 출수 되어 개화기 전후(5월 중순경) 수확이 유리하고, 개화기 기준 건물수량은 10.77톤, ADF $31.6\%$, NDF $59.2\%$로 양호하였다. 본 시험에서 벼 이앙시기, 건물생산성, 출수기, 사료가치, 도복 등을 종합고려한 유망작목은 호밀, 보리, 조생 IRG, 밀로 추정되었다. 5월 중순 벼 이앙시 적작물은 5월 상순에 수확이 가능한 호밀, 5월 하순 벼 이앙시에는 보리(알보리)와 조생 IRG, 6월 상순으로 벼 이앙시기가 늦을 경우에는 5월 하순 수확도 가능하면서 생산성과 사료가치가 높은 밀이 권장되었다.

Evaluation of Methods for Determination of Bulk Density of Eight Kinds of Forage under Air-dry and Wet Conditions

  • The conditions of measurement for the determination of bulk density were evaluated to assess the bulkiness of 8 kinds of forage. The bulkiness of the forages was determined with 4 different sizes of forage samples with 7 different pressure application under air-dry and wet conditions. The dry bulk density (DBD) curvilinearly regressed with the pressure applied. The particle size of the samples and kinds of forage used in the present study did not affect changes in values of DBD determined under pressures over $20g/cm^2$ up to $200g/cm^2$. The values of the wet bulk density (WBD) increased as an increment of particle size, but were not always regressed on the particle size of the 8 kinds of forage. The DBD determined on 8 mm particles showed a higher correlation coefficient with neutral detergent fiber (NDF) contents. The DBD may be a useful tool for the assessment of NDF in forage, when it is determined under condition of a pressure of $100g/cm^2$ or over with a particle size of 8 mm. The WBD may not be utilized for the direct measurement of the physical characteristics of forage, but may be required a thorough consideration on water solubility of forages. Further studies are needed to clarify the DBD contribution to the prediction of forage intake by ruminants.
