이용자관점에서 본 아이돌보미지원사업의 특성과 개선방안에 관한 기초연구 (A Basic Study on Public Nanny Service Characteristics and Improvement Strategies)

  • In order to find out better policy strategies for public nanny service, this study tried to find out the characteristics and the major problems of this service based on 24 in-depth interviews and 7 focus group interviews with nannies, beneficiaries, managers, and public agents. Research findings showed that public nanny service was effectively filling the gap between nursery care services and parent's care services(especially who are both working). Also, this service provided tailored support to parents who have urgent or unexpected problems which prohibit them from properly caring their children. Especially this service effectively worked for temporary needs of caring young children. This study proposes these two strategies as follows: First, the beneficiary selection criteria should be updated. Second, the level and types of available time should be raised to fit the diverse needs of parents.

일 대학 신설간호학과 1회 졸업예정자들의 대학생활 경험에 관한 연구 (First-Year Graduate Student Experience of University Life in an Unfamiliar Department of Nursing)

  • Purpose: This study explores the experience of university life in an unfamiliar department by first-year graduate students. Method: Data were collected from participants through focus group interviews between July and August 2013 using phenomenological research methods. Colsizzi's method was used for analysis after the institutional review board of the university approved the study and informed consent was obtained from the participants. All interviews were recorded on an MP3 recorder and transcribed. Results: The analysis revealed 51 meanings that were categorized by 15 key words into 6 themes: "sense of isolation," "feeling of solidarity," "limitations," "benefits," "overcoming" and "renewing." Conclusion: First-year graduate students experience both positive and negative feelings toward "university life"; however, they eventually overcome their difficulties and adapt to the conditions of their field of study and new department.

의료취약지 근무 간호인력의 원격협진 수행 경험 (Telemedicine Cooperation Experience of Nurses Working in Remote Areas)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to explore the telemedicine cooperation experience of nurses working in remote areas. Methods: A focus group interviews were used to collect data. All interviews were recorded and transcribed. Content analysis was used to analyze the data. Results: The three main categories and seven sub-categories of telemedicine cooperation experience that emerged are 1) requirement of education on remote support service, 2) consideration of the recipients of medical support services and the characteristics of the area, and 3) difficulties in conducting telemedicine cooperation. Conclusion: As a result of the study, legal protection should be given priority, and it is necessary to select an area where remote cooperation is essential, to discover subjects, and to reduce the burden of work and division of manpower and duties.

Parenting experiences of mothers of moderate-to-late preterm children in South Korea: a qualitative study

  • Purpose: This study investigated the parenting experiences of mothers of young children born moderate-to-late preterm (MLPT) in South Korea. Methods: In this qualitative study, semi-structured focus group interviews were conducted with 10 mothers of MLPT children from infancy to preschool age. The interviews were video-recorded, transcribed verbatim, and analyzed using qualitative content analysis. Results: Four categories resulted from the analysis of parenting experiences of mothers with young MLPT children, as follows: "becoming a mother of an early-born child", "difficulties as the primary caregiver for a high-risk child", "helpful social support, but still a lack of professional support for parenting a high-risk child", and "mothers and children growing together". Conclusion: Mothers of young MLPT children experienced difficulties due to concerns about their child's health, growth and development, and insufficient child-rearing support. Therefore, social support systems should be strengthened and more aggressive nursing strategies should be adopted for mothers of young MLPT children.

Exploring How to Conduct Infection Prevention and Control Education in Undergraduate Nursing Programs in Korea: Focus Group Interview Analysis

  • Purpose: In the nursing profession, it is imperative that students are able to transfer their undergraduate knowledge and skills into practice to become competent nurses. The aim of this study was to illuminate how infection prevention and control (IPC) education would be conducted in undergraduate nursing programs. Methods: A qualitative design utilizing focus group interviews as its data collection method was employed. Twelve professors from twelve South Korean universities that have undergraduate nursing programs were recruited as research participants and divided into two focus groups. Results: Focus group interview analysis showed that IPC education in undergraduate nursing programs for fostering IPC competency was composed of two categories: a pre-clinical course and a clinical course. Each included three subcategories-education contents, education strategies, and considerations of how infection control is taught to students as they continue from beginning to advanced-and the themes of each subcategory were derived. Conclusions: The findings of this study can provide an overview of how nursing professors should teach IPC education to undergraduates. As IPC education for nurses is very important, more in-depth discussions that include educators, clinical mentors, and nursing students regarding IPC education are needed to ensure patients' safety in clinical settings.

How to Develop a Metaverse Platform for Educational Purpose: A Focus Group Study

  • 본 연구의 목적은 메타버스를 활용한 교육 경험이 있는 초, 중, 고 교사들의 경험을 바탕으로 질적 연구방법 중 하나인 포커스 그룹 인터뷰 방법론을 적용하여 교육용 메타버스 개발을 위한 제언을 제시하고자 함이다. 포커스 그룹에 참여한 교사는 총 10명이며, 자료수집은 2022년 1월부터 2월까지 2개월 간 실시하였고, 1차, 2차의 두 차례의 포커스 그룹을 구성하여 면담을 진행하였다. 면담자료는 내용 분석(content analysis) 방법을 사용하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과 6개의 주제질문(메타버스 플랫폼 상에서 교육을 하는 것의 필요성, 메타버스를 소프트웨어의 하나로서 교육적인 도구로 사용할 때의 이점, 메타버스를 활용해서 학생들과 함께 진행하기에 적합한 수업, 메타버스 플랫폼을 활용해서 학생 교육 시 발생할 수 있는 문제점, 교육용 메타버스에서 꼭 필요한 기능, 교육용 메타버스 플랫폼을 구축하는 데 있어 정책적 제언)에 대해 17개의 하부주제가 도출되었다. 연구 결과를 토대로 교육용 메타버스 구축을 위한 제언을 기술하였고, 마지막으로 연구의 한계점과 후속 연구의 제안을 제시하였다.

유아동 교육 애니메이션의 미디어 리터러시 평가항목 요구도 분석 (Analysis of Media Literacy Evaluation Items in Early Childhood Animation)

  • 본 연구는 유아동 교육 애니메이션의 미디어 리터러시에 대한 중요도와 수행도를 분석하여 요구도를 도출하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 전문가 초점집단면접(FGI)을 거쳐 평가항목의 문항을 도출한 후 내적합치도와 기술통계 현황조사를 거쳐 신뢰도와 정규성을 확보한 측정도구를 제작하였다. 이 측정도구를 이용하여 유아동 자녀를 둔 부모를 대상으로 설문조사를 진행하였다. 분석도구는 Borich의 요구도 공식과 The Locus for Focus 모델을 함께 사용하여 정확도를 높였다. 그 결과 애니메이션의 다양한 정보를 자신의 상황에 맞게 습득하는 능력, 애니메이션의 다양한 정보를 비교·구분하는 비판적 수용 능력, 애니메이션을 통해 자신의 생각을 창의적으로 표현하는 태도, 애니메이션을 통해 정보를 습득하는 지적 능력 향상, 애니메이션의 내용과 주제에 대한 공감능력, 애니메이션을 통해 타자를 존중하고 협력하는 태도에 대한 요구도가 높았다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 유아동 교육 애니메이션에 대한 수용자의 요구를 인식하고 이를 위한 체계적인 지표를 마련했다는 측면에서 의미가 있다.

인간중심돌봄에 대한 요양병원 간호사의 인식: 포커스 그룹 연구 (Nurses' Perceptions of Person-Centered Care in Long-term Care Hospitals: Focus Group Study)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 인간중심돌봄에 대한 요양병원 간호사의 인식을 파악하는 것이다. 연구대상은 전라도와 경상도 내 위치한 요양병원 4곳에서 근무하고 있는 간호사 21명이며, 각 병원에 1개씩 포커스 그룹을 구성하여 총 4개의 포커스 그룹에서 면담을 수행하였다. 자료 수집 기간은 2018년 7월 19일부터 7월 30일까지였고 질적 주제분석을 이용해 자료를 분석하였다. 연구결과 인간중심돌봄에 대한 요양병원 간호사의 인식은 6개의 주제와 11개의 하위주제로 도출되었으며, 6개의 주제는 "개별 요구 존중하기", "끝까지 동행하기", "남은 꿈 지지하기", "가족과 동반자되기", "집처럼 생활하도록 돕기", "문화 변화시키기"로 나타났다. 간호사가 인식하는 인간중심돌봄은 노인의 선호도에 따라 개별화된 간호를 수행하고 다양한 활동프로그램을 통해 노인이 삶의 가치와 의미를 발견할 수 있도록 도와주는 것이었다. 또한 노인뿐만 아니라 이들의 가족 구성원과 협력적인 관계를 유지하고 의사결정을 공유하며 노인의 권리와 자율성이 존중받을 수 있는 물리적 환경 및 조직 문화를 형성하는 것을 인간중심돌봄이라고 인식하고 있었다. 본 연구결과를 토대로 향후 인간중심돌봄 문화 형성에 필요한 다각적 요구를 확인하고 인간중심돌봄을 기반으로 한 간호중재 프로그램을 개발하여 그 효과를 검증할 필요가 있다.

간호대학생의 지역사회간호학실습경험 (Learning Experience of Nursing Students on Community Health Nursing Clinical Placements)

  • Purpose: In this study undergraduate nursing students' experiences of learning in community health nursing clinical placements was explored on order to develop a more effective practice teaching method. Methods: Focus group interviews (FGI) were held with 11 nursing students in junior or senior year. The interviews were audio-taped semi-structured interviews and were analyzed using content analysis. Results: Nursing students felt that the education system for practice was incomplete in considering the nursing that was needed for their on-site practice. Also they were aware of the totality of the community and voluntarily tried to provide for the expansion of knowledge. Conclusion: Findings indicate a need to establish a cooperative plan between nursing schools and practice agencies and collaborative development in the community health nursing practice guidelines.

요양시설노인의 치매예방 프로그램 참여 경험 (Experiences of Participation in Dementia Prevention Program for Older Adults in Nursing Homes)

  • Purpose: This study was designed to describe the experiences of dementia prevention program for older adults in nursing homes. Methods: Four focus group interviews (FGI) after the program were conducted with 35 participants. All interviews were audio-taped and transcribed verbatim. The transcribed data were analyzed by Colaizzi's phenomenological method. Results: Four themes emerged as a result of analysis. Participants without dementia reported "I don't have dementia yet." This statement probably reflects ignoring potential dementia. Motivation for participating the dementia prevention program were to reduce boredom, to enjoy exercising and communicating with others, and to follow group activities. Participants reported the positive effects of the program; (a) benefits from the repeating learned activities; (b) improvements of memory and emotional stability. A few participants reported their inability to follow the program due to physical and environmental limits. However, other participants reported their efforts to overcome physical limits and perform the activities regardless their limits. People who performed the activities with physical limits reported that their self-satisfaction was increased. Conclusion: Results of this study showed that participants without dementia were able to actively participate in dementia prevention programs and showed memory, emotional and behavioral improvements. Therefore, these findings can be used for developing customized dementia prevention programs in nursing homes.
