Objectives : The aim of this study is to explore the potential of oriental medicine in managing rosacea through the regulation of the autonomic nervous system. Methods : We reviewed studies on the pathophysiology and medical treatment (both western and oriental medicine) of rosacea, as well as the relationship between rosacea and the autonomic nervous system, using four databases: PubMed, OASIS, RISS, and NDSL. Results : Rosacea is a chronic recurrent inflammatory disease characterized by symptoms such as facial flushing, inflammatory papules, and pustules. In Western medicine, symptomatic treatments like vasoconstrictors, doxycycline, and anti-inflammatory drugs are primarily used. According to the pathophysiological mechanisms of rosacea, the autonomic nervous system is closely related, particularly with sympathetic overactivity causing vasodilation and local inflammation in rosacea patients. Additionally, recent studies report that rosacea patients frequently exhibit neuropsychiatric symptoms such as anxiety, depression, and insomnia, which are closely linked to autonomic dysfunction and contribute to the worsening of skin symptoms. However, current studies on the use of oriental medicine for rosacea focus mainly on anti-inflammatory effects at the local level, similar to conventional treatments. Conclusions : Based on the close involvement of the autonomic nervous system in the pathophysiological mechanisms of rosacea and numerous studies showing that oriental medicine can effectively regulate autonomic function, applying such treatments to rosacea patients may improve not only skin symptoms but also the frequently associated neuropsychiatric symptoms like anxiety, depression and insomnia.

The magnesium and iron-based layered double hydroxide (Mg-Fe LDH) was synthesized by the co-precipitation process and the bead type LDH (BLDH, 5~6 mm in diameter) was manufactured by using the Mg-Fe LDH and the starch as a binder. To evaluate the feasibility of the BLDH as the As stabilizer in the soil, various experiments were performed and the As stabilization efficiency of the BLDH was compared to that of powdered type LDH (PLDH, <149 ㎛ in diameter). For the As sorption batch experiment, the As sorption efficiency of both of the PLDH and the BLDH showed higher than 99%. For the stabilization experiment with soil, the As extraction reducing efficiency of the PLDH was higher than 87%, and for the BLDH, it was higher than 80%, suggesting that the BLDH has similar the feasibility of As stabilization for the contaminated soil, compared to the PLDH. From the continuous column experiments, when more than 7% BLDH was added into the soil, the As stabilization efficiency of the column maintained at over 91% for 7 pore volume flushing (simulating about 21 months of rainfall) and slowly decreased down to 64% after that time (to 36 months) under the non-equilibrium conditions. Results suggested that more than 7% of BLDH added in As-contaminated soil could be enough to stabilize As in soil for a long time. The main As fixation mechanisms on the LDH were also identified through the X-ray fluorescence (XRF), the X-ray diffraction (XRD), and the Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) analyses. Results showed that the LDH has enough of an external surface adsorption capacity and an anion exchange capability at the interlayer spaces. Results of SEM/EDS and BET analyses also supported that the Mg-Fe LDH used in this study has sufficient porous structures and outer surfaces to fix the As. The reduction of carbonate (CO₃^2-) and sulfate (SO₄^2-) anions in the LDH after the reaction between As and the LDH was observed through the FT-IR, the XRF, and the XRD analyses, suggesting that the exchange of some of these anions with the arsenate (H₂AsO₄^- or HAsO₄^2-) occurs at the LDH interlayers during the stabilization process in soil.

Objectives : Acne, one of the most common disorders in dermatology clinic, is a chronic inflammatory disease which has the symptoms of comedones, papules, pustules, cysts, nodules and scars mainly on the face. Although some of pathologic findings are suggested, but the exact causes and mechanisms are not yet known in Western Medicine. Hwangryeonhaedok-Tang(HRHDT) is an antiinflammatory, antipyretic and detoxifying herb decoction. In this report, we would like to share our experience of acne treatment with HRHDT. Methods : We had treated several patients with acne, facial flushing and uprising febrile sensation on face using oral administration and external application of HRHDT. HRHDT is basically made up with Scutellariae Radix, Coptidis Rhizoma, Phellodendri Cortex and Gardeniae Fructus. In this trial, several other herbs were added according to the individual patient's accompanying symptoms. After the decoction of herbs in amount for 10 days, $Yogourmet^{(R)}$ Kefir Starter 10 g was added to the herbal solution that was then fermented in an incubator at $25^{\circ}C$ for 72 hours, and divided into 30 doses. Results : Photographies were taken before and after the treatment. The severities of acne were evaluated with these photos according to the Korean Acne Grading System(KAGS). As results, we observed dramatic clinical improvements and the decreases of KAGS grades after the average treatment period of 8 weeks. The medication was orally administered 3 times a day and the external treatment was applied average twice a week during the whole treatment period. Conclusions : From these results, HRHDT may be considered as a good prescription for the febrile and toxic type of acne patients.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to analyze various Korean medical treatments on acne scar and to propose better methods on clinical studies and effective treatments. Methods : Key word 'Acne Scar', published year '2010-2018' were searched on three domestic database systems (RISS, KISS, NDSL). Results : Among 9 studies, 8 studies were case reports and 1 study was comparative study. The treatment used in 9 studies were acupuncture(Subcision, Microneedle Therapy System, laser), pharmacopuncture, external application, dermabrasion, high frequency therapy. 7 out of 9 studies used more than 2 different treatments. The most popular treatment method was 'subcision', followed by 'MTS'. The most popular methods of assessment was QGASC. All studies using assessment methods measuring the severity of acne scar reported improvement, though only 1 study was proved to be statistically different. 1 study reported the side effect, and other 4 studies reported flushing, itching, pain. Conclusions : This study shows the effectiveness of Korean medical treatment on acne scar. It will be expected to use this various treatments and study methods for treating acne scar with Korean medicine, and conducting further clinical studies with higher credibility and reproducibility.

The pronuclear injection of metallothionein-human growth hormone (MT-hGH) gene into rabbit zygotes was performed to establish in vitro developmental system and to detect the presence of the injected gene by nested PCR. Mature female New Zealand White rabbits were superovulated by eGG and hCG treatments. The rabbits were mated and the zygotes were collected from the oviducts 18-22 h after hCG injection by flushing with D-PBS. Two to three picoliters of MT-hGH gene was microinjected into male pronuclei. The foreign gene-injected zygotes were cultured in TCM-199 or RD mediurn containing 10% FCS with a monolayer of rabbit oviductal epithelial cefls in a 5% $CO_2$ incubator. The presence of injected DNA in rabbit embryos or blastomeres at different developmental stages .vas detected by a nested PCR analysis. The results are summarized as follows ; 1.The developmental rate of the MT-hGH gene-injected zygotes to blastocyst was significantly higher in TCM-199 medium (68.1%) than in RD medium (42.9%). 2.The gene injection into pronuclei at 18 or 22 hours post hCG treatment during pronuclear stage did not much affect on the in vitro development of the rabbit embryos. 3.The rate of gene-positive embryos detected by the nested PCR analysis was significantly decreased when they developed to blastocysts. The results indicate that the screening of transgene in rabbit embryos by nested PCR analysis could be a prornisible method for the preselection of transgenic embryos. Furthermore, the preselection of transgenic embryos would greatly reduce hoth the cost and effort of production of transgenic animals.

Most of the cholesterol is synthesized by liver in the body while about one of third is taken via dietary. The main functions of cholesterol is to protect membranes in cell surface, avoid the arterial bleeding by hypertension, and prolong the life of erythrocytes, and so on. However, overload of cholesterol leads to arteriosclerosis associated with leading death cause. Lack of physical activity, emotional and environmental stress, and low intake of protein or vitamin E induce the unbalance between HDL- and LDL-cholesterol so become a basis of ischemic disorders in heart, brain and elsewhere in the body. So far, four major classes of medications for hyperlipidemia are HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors (statins), bile acid sequestrants, nicotinic acid, and fibric acids. The statins can lower LDL and levels triglyceride, but may induce myopathy and an elevation of liver enzyme levels. The bile acid sequestrants lower LDL levels and raise HDL levels with no effect on triglyceride levels but side effects of gastrointestinal (GI) distress, constipation, and a decrease in the absorption of other drugs. Nicotinic acid and fibric acids lower LDL and triglyceride levels with showing flushing, hyperglycemia, hyperuricemia, GI distress, and hepatotoxicity dyspepsia, gallstones, myopathy, and unexplained noncardiac death as adverse effects. Above western drugs lower cholesterol by 15 to 30% while all have notable adverse effects. In traditional medicine, hyperlipidemia is regarded as retention of phlegm and fluid disease. Etiology and pathogenesis of hyperlipidemia is basically based on Spleen-Deficiency and Phlegm-Stagnation, accumulation and stasis of -heat, and Qi & blood stagnation induced by Phlegm-damp, water-dampness, and blood stasis. Thereby, strengthening Spleen and dissolving Phlegm, clearing away heat and diuresis, and supplementing Qi and activating blood circulation are commonly used therapeutic methods for hyperlipidemia. The traditional herbal medicine, have been used for patients with CVA, hypertension or hyperlipidemia in Oriental hospital or Oriental clinic. The lock and key theory is used to develop most of western medicine, however many diseases are caused by mixed factors in body-complex system. We expect that Oriental pharmacological theory could be newborn as a novel drug showing high advantage of blood levels of lipidsand QOL of performance without side effects.

An 1-year-old, spayed, female Labrador Retriever was presented for bilateral epiphora. A complete ophthalmic examination was conducted, including Schirmer tear test, rebound tonometry, fluorescein staining, slit lamp biomicroscopy, and binocular indirect ophthalmoscopy. To determine the patency of the nasolacrimal duct system, a nasolacrimal flush and dacryocystorhinography were also performed. Although the nasolacrimal flush showed patency in the upper and lower lacrimal puncta in both eyes (OU), the lower lacrimal puncta were not found in the original palpebral conjunctiva, but on medial canthal skin with very small opening. Moreover, the nasolacrimal ducts in OU were not patent with flushing. Bilateral nasolacrimal duct atresia was confirmed by dacryocystorhinography. No other abnormalities of the eyes were found on complete ophthalmic examinations. Bilateral congenital anomalies of the lower lacrimal puncta and nasolacrimal duct atresia were diagnosed in this dog.

The objective of this study was to evaluate several types of uterine bacteria in Hanwoo. uterine bacteria from randomly selected 5 uterus was collected by flushing methods into a sterilized 1.5 ml centrifuge tube and was inoculated onto MacConkey agar and blood agar, respectively. After being incubated for 5% $CO_2$, aerobic or anaerobic condition at $37^{\circ}C$ during 48h, bacterial colonies were selected and re-inoculated onto blood agar plates. Re-cultured colonies were identified by Gram staining and finally identified using Vitek system. The identified bacteria were Staphylococcus lentus, Staphylococcus sciuri, Staphylococcus vitulinus, Staphylococcus warneri of Gram (+) and Rhizobium radiobacter, Sphingomonas paucimobilis of Gram (-) bacteria. Although, pathogenicity of identified bacteria was unclear, the bacteria can have an effect on the uterine microenvironment. Therefore, repetitive research will be required to determine the effects of bacteria in cattle exposed to a various environment.

The purpose of this study evaluated the hemo-dynamic information within 30 seconds clinically in 3D breast MRI. From January to March 2014, A total of 40 people were examined at 1.5 Tesla(Philips, Medical System, Achieva, The Netherlands) MRI equipments using 16 channel SENSE breast coil. The imaging parameters on vibrant are fellow as: $TR/TE/FA^{\circ}$/Matrix size/Slice thickness/Slab($5ms/2ms/10^{\circ}/180{\times}139{\times}2mm/80$). This study used a Gadovist and injected it with injection speed of 4 ml /sec by auto injector with 15 ml saline flushing. Firstly, for the delay time study, it divided three different delay time from immediately, 20 seconds, and 30 seconds. In quantitative analysis, the ROI signal intensities of tumor and surrounding tissues were measured retrospectively. In qualitative analysis, the image quality was scored from 1 to 5 point by one experienced radiological technologists as a visual test. The significance level of each delay time was evaluated with a one-way ANOVA(p<0.05). In the visual test, score levels on 30 seconds delay time was a little bit higher than others(p<0.05). The signal intensity of the tumor were $1445{\pm}360$, $1410{\pm}320$, $1510{\pm}415$ on immediately, 20 seconds, and 30 seconds and score levels were $4.18{\pm}0.85$, $3.54{\pm}0.94$, $4.45{\pm}0.74$(p<0.05). The data on immediate images showed better results than that others(p<0.05). Conclusively, Although it has been high scored in 30sec delay time for visual test in order to avoid failure in 20second, 30seconds delay time after contrast media administration, we recommend that the DCE 3D breast MRI commence immediately.

Neo-liberalism after IMF bailout made the Korean book market flushing with rose due to the alleged self-development books. Vision of self-development books under neoliberal social system is inevitably reduced to a means of capital pursuing commercialization in line with improving the competitiveness of privates through the development of human resources. Characteristics of self-development books, which attributes personal fail to personal responsibility and lack of essential element compared to others in a competitive society, trap individuals forced to choose into anxiety and helplessness. Self-development and healing is a complementary relationship. Human beings needs healing -healing humanities- in the process of self-development. Therefore, humanities should trigger developing and perceiving his own 'reflexive life skills'. Individual's sense of happiness in life and his own experience is very important, and the conscious relationship about their own feelings could elicit 'self-reinforcement'.
