MR유체를 이용한 다방향 제진형 마운트의 응답특성 (Property of Multi-Direction Mount Using Magneto-Rheological Fluid)

  • This paper presents property of the squeeze mode type mount using Magneto-Rheological fluid (MR fluid). The mount can isolate multi-directional vibrations, and also effectively reduce the vibrations in a wide range of disturbance frequency by controling the applied magnetic field. The shape of the mount is the same that of squeeze film damper. In the present work, the performance of this mount was experimentally investigated according to changing the magnetic field strength.   • This paper presents vibration control of an active hybrid engine mount featuring magneto-rheological (MR) fluid and a piezostack actuator. On the basis of the conventional passive rubber mount, MR fluid is adopted to improve isolation performance at resonant frequencies, whereas the piezostack actuator is adopted for performance improvement at non-resonant frequencies, especially at high frequencies. Based on some particular practical requirements of engine mounts, the proposed mount is designed and manufactured. The characteristics of rubber element, piezostack actuator and MR fluid are verified for system analysis and controller synthesis. The model of the proposed mount with a supported mass (engine) is established. In this work, a sliding mode controller is synthesized for the mount system to reduce vibrations transmitted from the engine in a wide frequency range. Computer simulations are performed to evaluate the performances of the proposed active engine mount in time and frequency domains.

  • When designing fluid mounts, design parameters can be varied in order to obtain a desired notch frequency and notch depth. The notch frequency is a function of the mount parameters and is typically selected by the designer to occur at the vibration disturbance frequency. Since the process of choosing these parameters can involve some trial and error, it seems to be a great application for obtaining optimal performance of the mount. Many combinations of parameters are possible to give us the desired notch frequency, but the question is which combination provides the lowest depth. Therefore. an automatic optimal technique is needed to optimize the performance of the fluid mount. In this study. the enhanced genetic algorithm (EGA) is applied to minimizing transmissibility of a fluid mount at the desired notch frequency, and at the notch and resonant frequencies. The EGA is modified genetic algorithm to search global and local optimal solutions of multi-modal function optimization. Furthermore. to reduce the searching time as compare to conventional genetic algorithm and Increase the precision of the solutions, the modified simplex method is combined with the algorithm. The results show that the performance of the optimized mount by using the hybrid algorithm is better than that of the conventional fluid mount.

ER 유체를 이용한 반능동형 엔진마운트의 진동제어 (Vibration Control of a Semi-Active Engine Mount Using an ER Fluid)

  • This paper presents the vibration control of an engine mount featuring an ER(electro-rheological) fluid. The Bingham properties of the ER fluid to be employed to the ER engine mount are experimentally obtained through Coeutte type viscometer. The ER engine mount is devised ant its governing equation is derived. After evaluating the performance of the ER engine mount on the basis of the mathematical model, the novel type of the ER engine mount is then designed and manufactured. The electric field-dependent transmissibility of the ER engine mount is evaluated by changing the particle concentration and the electrode gap size. To investigate the control performance of the ER engine mount, neuro-control algorithm is adopted. It is shown that the proposed ER engine mount has prominent capabilities of controlling the damping force by tuning the electric fields and excellent vibration isolation performance.

  • In this research, the finite element model is formulated taking into consideration of the effects of the fluid flow in a pipe. The characteristic of vibration is presented using mass, damping and stiffness matrix in the finite element equation of this pipe system. The displacement distribution of pipe system caused by fluid force is discussed. The method for optimizing the location of mount and the value of mount stiffness to reduce the vibration of pipe system is introduced.

  • This paper shows the optimal design methodology for the fluid engine mount by the artificial life algorithm. The design has been commonly modified by trial and error because there is many design parameters that can be varied in order to minimize transmissibility at the desired fundamental resonant and notch frequencies. The application of trial and error method to optimization of the fluid mount is a great work. Many combinations of parameters are possible to give us the desired resonant and notch frequencies, but the question is which combination Provides the lowest resonant peak and notch depth. In this study the enhanced artificial life algorithm is applied to get the desired fundamental resonant and notch frequencies of a fluid mount and to minimize transmissibility at these frequencies. The present hybrid algorithm is the synthesis of and artificial life algorithm with the random tabu (R-tabu) search method. The hybrid algorithm has some advantages, which is not only faster than the conventional artificial life algorithm, but also gives a more accurate solution. In addition, this algorithm can find all globa1 optimum solutions. The results show that the performance of the optimized mount compared with the original mount is improved significantly.

  • 본 연구에서는 MR유체를 특징으로 하는 대시포트형 마운트를 제안하고, 자극 형상 및 구조의 변화가 MR유체 마운트의 감쇠력에 미치는 영향에 대하여 실험적으로 고찰하였다. 자극의 유효길이와 코어 중심부의 구조를 달리하여 MR 유체 마운트를 제작하였다. MR유체 마운트에 자기장을 형성하기 위하여 공급하는 전류의 세기를 변화시켰을 때의 감쇠력 변화와 전류를 공급하지 않은 경우의 감쇠력 변화를 측정하였다. 또한, 가진 변위는 일정하게 유지한 상태에서 MR엔진마운트에 가해지는 가진 주파수를 변화시켜 감쇠력의 변화를 측정하였다. MR유체마운트로부터 전달되는 힘은 가진 주파수가 증가함에 따라 감소하는 경향을 나타냈으며, 공급하는 전류의 세기가 증가함에 따라 전달되는 힘은 증가하여 나타났다. 자기장이 형성되는 MR마운트에 유효길이 변화에 대해서는 전달력의 변화가 나타나지 않았다.

  • This paper presents investigation of damping characteristics of squeeze mode type MR (magneto-Rheological) mount experimentally. Since damping property of the MR fluid is changed by variation of the applied magnetic field strength, squeeze mode type MR mount proposed in the study has variable damping characteristics according to the applied magnetic field strength. Impact and excitation tests were performed to investigate the dynamic properties of squeeze mode type MR mount. Responses of the mount were compared in proportion to the applied magnetic field strength. The experimental results show that the mount can effectively reduce vibration amplitude in a wide frequency range by changing the applied magnetic field strength.

The experimental results present that the MR mount can effectively reduce the vibration in a wide range of frequency by controlling the applied electromagnetic filed strength. Viscous damping and stiffness coefficients of the MR mount tend to be changed according to the variation of the applied currents in this study and MR effect is reduced by increasing exciting frequency.
