A New Solution for Stochastic Optimal Power Flow: Combining Limit Relaxation with Iterative Learning Control

  • A stochastic optimal power flow (S-OPF) model considering uncertainties of load and wind power is developed based on chance constrained programming (CCP). The difficulties in solving the model are the nonlinearity and probabilistic constraints. In this paper, a limit relaxation approach and an iterative learning control (ILC) method are implemented to solve the S-OPF model indirectly. The limit relaxation approach narrows the solution space by introducing regulatory factors, according to the relationship between the constraint equations and the optimization variables. The regulatory factors are designed by ILC method to ensure the optimality of final solution under a predefined confidence level. The optimization algorithm for S-OPF is completed based on the combination of limit relaxation and ILC and tested on the IEEE 14-bus system.

가솔린 엔진의 연료분사시기가 희박가연한계에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (Effects of Injection Timing on the Lean Misfire Limit in a SI Engine)

  • Effects of fuel injection timing on the lean misfire limit of a sequential MPI SI engine has been investigated. To investigate the interaction of injection timing and intake flow characteristics, so called axial stratification phenomena, 4 kinds of different intake swirl port of the same combustion chamber geometry have been teated in a single cylinder engine test bench. And 2 kinds of fuel, gasoline and compressed natural gas(CNG), were used to see the effect of liquid fuel vaporization. Result shows that combination of port swirl and injection timing governs the lean misfire limit and lean misfire limit envelopes remain almost the same for a given ratio regardless of engine speed. It is also found that two phase flow has some effects on lean misfire limit.

  • Slump시험(試驗)보다는 조작(操作)이 간편(簡便)한 유통(流動) Table을 사용(使用)하여 화강암질풍화토(花崗岩質風化土)의 유동한계(流動限界)를 측정(測定)하는 방법(方法)을 시험(試驗)하여 다음과 같은 결론(結論)을 얻었다. 1) 화강암질풍화토(花崗岩質風化土)의 유동한계(流動限界)는 입도분포(粒度分布), 퐁화도(風化度) 및 유색광물함량(有色鑛物含量)에 영향(影響)되므로 유동(流動) Table에 의한 유동한계시험법(流動限界試驗法)을 제정(制定)할 때는 최대입경(最大粒徑)이 규정(規定)되어야 할 것으로 생각된다. 2) 유동(流動) Table의 낙하회수(落下回數)를 10회(回)로 하여 유동고(流動高)와 유동폭(流動幅)이 1cm일 때의 함수비(含水比)의 평균치(平均値)를 유동한계(流動限界)로 택(擇)하면 Slump시험(試驗)에서 구(求)한 유동한계(流動限界)보다 약간 작은 값으로 되며 대략(大略) 10%오차한계선내(誤差限界線內)에 속(屬)했다. 3) 유동폭(流動幅)과 함수비(含水比) 및 유동고(流動高)와 함수비(含水比)의 관계곡선(關係曲線)은 유사(類似)한 변화(變化)를 나타내고 반대수용선(半對數用線)에 도시(圖示)하면 액성한계시험(液性限界試驗)에서와 같이 직선관계(直線關係)를 나타냈다. 4) Slump시험(試驗)에 비(比)하여 조작(操作)이 간편(簡便)하고 개인적(個人的)인 오차(誤差)가 작으며 유동폭(流動福)과 유동고(流動高)를 동시측정(同時測定)하여 시험오차(試驗誤差)가 작은 것으로 공학적(工學的) 성질(性質)을 판단(判斷)하는 자료(資料)로 사용(使用)될 수 있는 것으로 생각된다.

도로교통 여건과 제한속도 변화에 따른 교통소통과 안전에 관한 영향 분석 연구 (A Study on the Impacts of Changes in Road Traffic Conditions and Speed Limits on Traffic Flow and Safety)

  • 본 논문에서는 도로교통 여건과 제한속도 변화가 교통소통과 안전에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 교통소통지표로 통행속도와 순행속도, 「순행속도-통행속도」, 편차, 대편차비율, 상충횟수 등을 안전지표로 설정하고 도로교통 여건과 제한속도 변화가 이들에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 분석 결과에 의하면 제한속도는 소통지표에는 크게 영향을 주지만 안전지표에는 크게 영향을 주지 않는 것으로 분석되었다. 통계적 유의성 검정 결과 제한속도가 증가함에 따라 소통지표는 증가한다는 것이 유의하다고 입증되었다. 그러나 안전지표들은 증가하는 경우가 많지만 통계적으로는 유의성이 입증되지 않았다. 그러므로 다양한 도로여건과 교통량 변화에 따른 교통흐름 상태를 현실적으로 고려해서 제한속도가 설정되고 운영된다면 운전자들이 주행하는 속도에 부합되고 교통소통과 안전이 향상된다고 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서 제시한 교통소통지표와 안전지표들을 고려하여 제한속도를 산정하고 교통량 변화에 따라 제한속도를 운영할 경우 도로상의 교통 흐름을 안정화시키는 데 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

  • This paper presents a concept of reactive reserve based contingency constrained optimal power flow (RCCOPF). RCCOPF for enhancement of interface flow limit is composed of two modules, which are the modified continuation power flow (MCPF) and reactive optimal power flow (ROPF). In RCCOPF, two modules are repeatedly performed to increase interface flow margins of selected contingent states until satisfying the required enhancement of interface flow limit. In numerical simulation, a simple example with New England 39-bus test system is shown.

By the local structure of holomorphic flows, we classify all the possible types of topologies of $\omega$-limit sets.

Operation Limit of Flow Control for a Bistable Fluidic Valve

  • The limitation of flow control for a bistable fluidic valve has been investigated. The physical model of the fluidic valve includes two main flow outlets and two control flow inlets. The experiments were conducted with pressure regulators, mass flow meters, and piezo sensors to analyze flow switching characteristics of the fluidic valve. The experimental data such as pressure and mass flow rate of control flows and the switching time of the main flow was obtained with various operating conditions. The operation limit of the fluidic valve is identified, and a model equation for pre-estimating the minimum control pressure to switch the direction of the main flow has been proposed.

  • The flammability limit and the flame instability of nitrogen-diluted LPG fuel was experimentally studied on a co-flow flame configuration. The combustion reaction of nitrogen-diluted hydrocarbon with air could be interpreted as the equivalent reaction of pure fuel with nitrogen-diluted air. Nitrogen-diluted LPG with nitrogen up to 90 % of nitrogen mole fraction in fuel, which is close to the flammability limit, could form a co-flow flame. Various parameters such as laminar or turbulent flame, the existence of diffusion flame with pure fuel, air temperature could affect the limit of flame formation.

스파크점화기관에서 흡기제어 방식이 부분부하 성능에 미치는 영향(2) - EGR 특성과 희석 방법의 비교 (Effect of Intake Flow Control Method on Part Load Performance in SI Engine(2) - EGR Characteristics and Comparison of Dilution Method)

  • This paper is the second investigation on the effects of intake flow control methods on the part load performance in a spark ignition engine. In the previous work, two control methods, port throttling and masking, were compared with respect to lean misfire limit, fuel consumption and emissions. In this work, the effects of these two methods on EGR characteristics were studied and simultaneously the differences between EGR and lean combustion as a dilution method were investigated. The results show that EGR limit is expanded up to 23% and 3 ~ 5% improvement in the fuel consumption are achieved around 8 ~ 13% rates by the flow controls comparing with 10% limit and 1.5% reduction around 3% rate of non-control case. The masking method is more effective on the limit expansion than throttling as like as lean misfire limit; however there is no substantial difference in fuel consumptions improvement regardless the control methods except high load condition. Also it is observed that there exist critical EGR rates around which the combustion performance and NOx formation change remarkably and these rates generally coincide with optimum rates for the fuel consumption. In addition, dilution with fresh air is much more advantageous than that of the exhaust gas from the view point of dilution limit and fuel consumption, while utilization of the exhaust gas is more effective on NOx reduction in spite of considerably small dilution compared with the use of fresh air. Finally, the improvement of fuel consumption by massive EGR is highly dependent on the EGR limit at which the engine runs stably, therefore the stratified combustion technique might be a best solution for this purpose.
