This paper describes the performance improvement of an inrush current limiter to prevent damage or malfunctions in power converters due to the inrush current. When the power converter of military radar is operated, the circuit breaker of the power converter is often activated because the overcurrent flows through the circuit breaker of the power converter. Therefore, this study performed a cause analysis of the problem, which is a larger current flow than the intended current(250A). The operation principle of an inrush current limiter and SCR (Silicon Controlled Rectifier) used in the inrush current limiter was analyzed. As a result, the overcurrent flow through the circuit breaker was found to be due to dv/dt triggering of SCR. Based on cause analysis, this paper proposes a technique by adding the resistor in front of the SCR to prevent an unnecessary inrush current. Finally, the effectiveness of the improvement was verified by measuring the output current in the inrush current limiter. The power converter equipped with the improved inrush current limiter operated for more than 1 year without the circuit breaker of the power converter being activated.

This study is an experimental study about a facility for preventing the accumulation of floating debris at a bridge by flooding at a small river. Generally, structures installed at a small river are damaged frequently by floating debris during typhoons or localized rainfall events. On the other hand, there is no method available for preventing such damage. The facilities used in other countries to prevent such damage by the accumulation of floating debris include debris fins, deflectors, and sweeper. Among these facilities, the present study was conducted with a sweeper to investigate the damage-reducing capability through a real-scale accumulation experiment. A sweeper was installed in front of a bridge to bypass floating debris by self-rotation so that the floating debris may not be accumulate at the bridge. A small bridge model was prepared in a real-scale for the real-scale experiment. The accumulation reducing capability was compared through an accumulation experiment before and after the sweeper installation depending on the length of the debris and flow conditions. The result showed that the accumulation rate increased with increasing length of the debris or decreasing flow rate. The installation of a sweeper decreased the debris accumulation rate by a minimum of 55% to a maximum of 88% compared to the case without an installed sweeper. The result of the present study showed that the installation of a sweeper at a small river having a high potential of generating floating debris may help secure the stability of a bridge in the case of floating debris accumulation.

A performance index of singalized intersections is a standard to optimize signal control variables and to manage traffic flow. Traffic delays is generally used to minimize the average delay time on intersections or networks, progression efficiency is used to improve travel speed of main cooridors or to provide transit signal priority. We manage traffic flows with only selecting one index between delays and progression according to the objective of traffic management and field characteristics. In real field, the driver's satisfaction is high in any performance criteria when the waiting time is shorter and the unnecessary stop in front of traffic is smaller. This paper aims to develop simulation model to represent real progression with concurrently considering delays and progression. In order to reflect an effect of level of traffic volumes and residual queues which don't be considered in prior progression model, we apply shockwave model with flow-density diagram. We derive Cell Transmission Model of Daganzo in order to develop the delay index and the progression index for the macroscopic simulation model. In order to validate the effect, we analysis traffic delays and progression efficiency with comparing this model to Transyt-7F and PASSER V.

Purpose: This study examined the effects of beraprost sodium on digital infrared thermal images in patients with peripheral arterial disease caused by type 2 diabetes mellitus. Materials and Methods: Twenty-five diabetic patients with peripheral arterial disease were treated with beraprost sodium in a prospective, multicenter, cohort study from February 2013 to December 2014. Beraprost sodium ($40{\mu}g$) was administered orally 3 times daily ($120{\mu}g/day$) for 6 months. The visual analogue scale (VAS) and digital infrared thermal imaging (DITI) were performed to compare the blood flow improvement between before and after dosing. Results: Among the 25 patients included in the evaluation, 22 patients completed the study. A significant increase in body temperature was observed in the front and left side, particularly in the plantar side in DITI compared to that before and after administration. An increase in body temperature was observed at the frontal part from $28.1^{\circ}C{\pm}2.3^{\circ}C$ to $29.1^{\circ}C{\pm}2.1^{\circ}C$ (p=0.021), at the left side from $27.8^{\circ}C{\pm}2.4^{\circ}C$ to $28.6^{\circ}C{\pm}1.9^{\circ}C$ (p=0.028), at the plantar part at $24.0^{\circ}C{\pm}1.5^{\circ}C$, and at the plantar part at $27.1^{\circ}C{\pm}2.4^{\circ}C$ (p<0.01). The VAS decreased significantly from $5.4{\pm}1.3$ to $2.7{\pm}2.0$ after 6 months of treatment (p<0.01). Conclusion: Beraprost sodium is a safe and easy-to use oral medication for diabetes peripheral arterial disease. It can be expected to increase the blood flow and decrease the lower extremity pain statistically after being taken for 6 months.
This study describes a prediction method for rainfall-induced landslides and subsequently debris flows in a regional scale areas. Special attention is given to the calculation of the propagation of debris flows by considering rainfall infiltration into soil slopes and soil entrainments by debris flows. The proposed method was verified by comparing the analytical results and the measured ones reported by the previous research. As a result, predictions and observations were quite similar in terms of the front position, the velocity, volume and momentum of debris flows. Even when applied to natural mountain slope with complicated terrain, numerical results and observations were similar. At last, the combined analysis of landslides and debris flows were conducted. The landslides prediction showed a predictive rate of about 83%, and the result of the final volume of debris flow showed an error rate of 3%. As a result, the proposed combined method for landslides and debris flows overcomes the problem of separating the landslides analysis and the debris flows simulation. Especially, the proposed method can analyze the effects of rainfall on entrainments by debris flows as well as rainfall-induced landslides and the behavior of debris flows.

The objective of this study is to estimate and analyze the traffic density of continuous flow using the trajectory of individual vehicles and the headway of sample probe vehicles-front vehicles obtained from ADAS (Advanced Driver Assitance System) installed in sample probe vehicles. In the past, traffic density of continuous traffic flow was mainly estimated by processing data such as traffic volume, speed, and share collected from Vehicle Detection System, or by counting the number of vehicles directly using video information such as CCTV. This method showed the limitation of spatial limitations in estimating traffic density, and low reliability of estimation in the event of traffic congestion. To overcome the limitations of prior research, In this study, individual vehicle trajectory data and vehicle headway information collected from ADAS are used to detect the space on the road and to estimate the spatiotemporal traffic density using the Generalized Density formula. As a result, an analysis of the accuracy of the traffic density estimates according to the sampling rate of ADAS vehicles showed that the expected sampling rate of 30% was approximately 90% consistent with the actual traffic density. This study contribute to efficient traffic operation management by estimating reliable traffic density in road situations where ADAS and autonomous vehicles are mixed.

Purpose: Currently commercially available phantom can reproduce and evaluate only a static situation, the study is incomplete research on phantom and system which is can confirmed functional situation in the kidney by time through dynamic phantom and blood flow velocity, various difference according to the amount of radioactive. Therefore, through this study, it has produced the dynamic kidney phantom to reproduce images through the dynamic flow of the kidney, it desire to evaluate the usefulness of nuclear medicine imaging. Materials and Methods: The production of the kidney phantom was fabricated based on the normal adult kidney, in order to reproduce the dynamic situation based on the fabricated kidney phantom, in this study it was applied the volume pump that can adjust the speed of blood flow, so it can be integrated continuously radioactive isotopes in the kidney by using $^{99m}Tc-pertechnate$. Used the radioactive isotope was supplied through the two pump. It was confirmed the changes according to the infusion rate, radioactive isotopes and the different injection speeds on the left and right, analysis of the acquired images was done by drawn ten times ROI in order to check the reproducibility of each on the front and rear of the kidney and bladder. Results: Under the same conditions infusion rate 40 mL/min fixed to adjust the pressure of the pump when the radiopharmaceuticals between 2-3 minutes in the most integrated in the kidney phantom was excreted inthe bladder. Glomerular filtration rate (GFR), respectively, by each device SYMBIA 1,091 mL/min, FORTE 1,232 mL/min, ARGUS 1,264 mL/min, INFINIA 1,302 mL/min in that there isno statistically significant difference was found, Tmax values and T1/2 values stars from all equipment with no statistically significant difference was found. CV values of the coefficient of variation less than 5% was found to be repeatable, and to 2.67% of the lowest SYMBIA appeared, INFINIA was the highest in the 4.86%. Conclusion: Through this study, the results showed that the dynamic kidney phantom system is able to similarly reproduce renogram in the actual clinical. Especially, the depicted over time for the flow to be excreted through the kidney into the bladder was adequately reproduce, it is expected to be utilized as basic data to check the quality of the dynamic images. In addition, it is considered to help in the field of functional imaging and quality control.

The integration of the left & right kidney was not reached in the amount of the highest when adjusting as 10 stroke. In the changes according to the amount of the radioactive isotope, 0.6 mCi(22.2 MBq), 0.8 mCi (29.6 MBq)was showed up similar tendency but, in the result of the different injection 0.8 mCi, it was showed up counts close to double of 0.6 mCi. In the result of the differently injection speed of the left & right kidney, as a result of different conditions that injection speed was 20 stroke through left kidney phantom, the injection speed was 30 stroke through right kidney phantom, it was enough difference in the resulting image can be easily distinguished with the naked eye. Through this study, the results showed that the dynamic kidney phantom system is able to similarly reproduce renogram in the actual clinical practice. Especially, the depicted over time for the flow to be excreted through the kidney into the bladder was adequately reproduce, it is expected to be utilized as basic data to check the quality of the dynamic images. In addition, it is considered to help in the field of functional imaging and quality control.
This study was conducted to examine the effects of constructing streetside urban forests on particulate matter (PM) content in pedestrian paths and open spaces created between the main streets and buildings in a high-rise, high-density urban area. The study site is a 70m-wide open space between Busan City Hall and Jungang-street in Busan, Korea. The results showed that the density of PM differences between the open space and the adjacent main street were small in regions without linear trees and shrub rows during both the weekdays and weekend. On the other hand, the areas with linear trees and shrub rows were found to have significantly higher concentrations of PM compared to the roadway. In particular, sections with linear trees and shrub rows had higher PM levels both on roads and in adjacent open space, indicating that the composition of linear trees and shrub rows increased the concentration of PM in the off-street open space in areas with wide space between the roadway and building. The impact was more significant in the open space than the roadway. This phenomenon can be explained by the fact that PM generated by vehicles flows through the roadside shrubs by rapid wind flow but does not disperse widely in the pedestrian paths where the wind flow was reduced. In this study, we found that the roadside tree and shrub walls slowed the flow of wind, causing vehicle-emitted PM to accumulate if a wide open space was created between the road and building, resulting in higher concentration of PM in the open space. We confirmed that the distance between the road and building was a critical factor for constructing linear trees and shrub rows to reduce PM generated by vehicle traffic.

Distribution characteristics of phytoplankton community were investigated by HPLC and flow cytometry in Jeju Strait and the Northern East China Sea (NECS) in May 2004, in order to understand the relationship between physical environmental factors and distribution pattern of phytoplankton communities. Based on temperature and salinity data, three distinct water masses were identified; warm and saline Tsushima Warm Current (TWC), which is flowing from northwest of Jeju Island, warm and low saline water at the center of Jeju Strait, which is originated from China Coastal Water (CCW) and relatively cold and high saline water originated from Yellow Sea at the bottom of the Jeju Strait. At Jeju Strait, less saline water (<33 psu) of 15 km width occupied surface layer up to 20 m which located at 20 km offshore and strong thermal front between warm and saline water and cold and less saline water was found in the middle of the Jeju Strait. Vertical transect of temperature and salinity at the NECS also showed that low saline (<33 psu) water occupied the upper 20 m layer and cold and saline water was present at the eastern part. Chl a was measured as $0.06{\sim}3.07\;{\mu}g/L$. Spring bloom of phytoplankton was recognized by the high concentrations of Chl a at the low saline water masses influenced by the CCW and subsurface chlorophyll maximum layer appeared between $20{\sim}30\;m$ depth, which was at thermocline depth or below. Abundances of Synechococcus and picoeukaryote were $0.2{\sim}9.5{\times}10^4\;cells/mL$ and $0.43{\sim}4.3{\times}10^4\;cells/mL$, respectively. Dinoflagellate, diatom and prymnesiophyte were major groups and minor groups were chlorophyte+prasinophyte, chrysophyte, cryptophyte and cyanophyte. Especially high abundance of dinoflagellate was identified by high concentration (>1\;{\mu}g/L$) of peridinin at the bottom of the thermocline, which showed an outbreak of red tide by high density of dinoflagellates. Abundances of picoeukaryote in Jeju Strait were about $5{\sim}10$ times higher than abundance measured in Kuroshio water and showed a good correlation with Chl b (Pras+Viola), which implies the most of population of picoeukaryote was composed of prasinophytes. Prochlorococcus was not detected at all, which suggests that Kuroshio Current did not directly influenced on the study area. Based on the strong negative correlations between biomass of phytoplankton (Chl a) and temperature+salinity, the primary production and biomass of phytoplankton in the study area were controlled by the nutrients supply from CCW.
