This study is performed to analyze the fluid flow about 150mm shower heads of semiconductor device. Under the air pressure, the ideal gas of moving fluid is injected as 5m/s velocity into inlet of shower heads and the flow distribution in shower heads is measured according to pitch of plasma distribution device. As results, the maximum and minimum value of fluid velocity are investigated with their position. The velocity values at outlet are also studied. From two experiment using the plasma distribution device, the results of CFD are compared with the experimental results. That results shows stable flow of fluid in that case of corrected design from CFD.

In order to suggest the methodology for improving the equality of flow distribution in a distribution channel, wet tests were carried out for pilot plant which was scaled down to 1/8 of full scale distribution channel being operated in domestic K_water treatment plant. The correlation between various hydraulic variables and their effects on the equality of flow distribution was evaluated through wet tests using pilot plant. From the results of wet tests, the longitudinal baffle with orifices was installed in the distribution channel, the equality of flow distribution was improved on the condition that the Froude number in pilot plant was similar with that in the full scale channel. Also, the opening ratio of the orifices on the longitudinal baffled did not have influence on the performance of the equality of flow distribution when the average flow velocity and Froud number were relatively low (Froude number ${\fallingdotseq} 0.01$). In the other hand, the performance of the equality of flow distribution was improved with increasing the opening ration of on the longitudinal baffle under conditions of relatively high average flow velocity and high Froud number(${\gtrsim}0.1$)

In the present study, the flow characteristics of developing laminar oscillatory flows in a square -sectional 180 deg. curved duct are investigated experimentally. The experimental study using air in a square-sectional 180 deg. curved duct is carried out to measure velocity distributions with a data acquisition and LDV (Laser Doppler Velocimetry) processing system. In this system, Rotating Machinery Resolver (RMR) and PHASE program are used to obtain the results of unsteady flows. The major flow characteristics of developing oscillatory flows are found by analyzing velocity curves, mean velocity profiles, time-averaged velocity distribution of secondary flow, wall shear stress distributions, and entrance lengths. In a lower dimensionless angular frequency, the axial velocity distribution of laminar oscillatory flow in a curved duct shows a convex shape in a central part and axial symmetry. The maximum value of wall shear stress in a lower dimensionless angular frequency is located in an outside wall, but according to increasing the dimensionless angular frequency, the maximum of wall shear stress is moved to inner wall. The entrance lengths of laminar oscillatory flows in a square-sectional 180 deg. curved duct is obtained to 90 deg. of bended angle of duct in this experimental conditions.
At the furnace top, the distribution of charging coke and ore is adjusted to control the reducing gas flow distribution in the furnace. It is necessary to predict operation condition of blast furnace according to the burden profile to judge whether charging is properly conducted In this study, We propose the model for predicting while layer structures whithin furnace when top burden profile was given. Layer structure of coke and ore could be predicted by top burden profile and solid velocity. Solid velocity is assumed as potential flow. Potential function distribution and timeline are also calculated using solid velocity field. The Calculation is conducted for different burden profile cases. As the result burden distribution and grid structure, which is deformed to match the layer structure in shaft and deadman profile. Gas flow was calculated using this grid, and calculated results are compared with each other.
The finite control volume method was utilized to investigate the effects of flow through openings on convection in an enclosure. Flow patterns and temperature distribution were compared for non-dimensional inflow velocity U=20, 40, 60 at Ra=$10^4$ and $5\times10^4$, respectively. The inflow velocity influenced temperature distribution in the enclosure significantly and lowered temperature on the top wall. The flow through openings forced the position of the highest temperature on the top wall to move toward the outflow opening.

In the present study, the velocity profiles and entrance length of developing transitional pulsating flows are investigated both analytically and experimentally in the entrance region of a square duct. The systems of conservation equations for transitional pulsating flows in a square duct are solved analytically by linearizing the non-linear convective terms. Analytical solutions are obtained in the form of infinite series for velocity pofiles. The experimental study for the air flow in a square duct(40mm*40mm*4000mm) is carried out to measure velocity profiles and other parameters by using a hot-wire anemometer with a data acquisition and processing system. The distribution of velocity profiles( $u_{ps}$ / $u_{m,ta}$) in the decelerating period is higher than in the accelerating period. The distribution of the axial component of the axial component of velocity in the transitional flow is nearly uniform in the central region of the duct, and decrease rapidly near the wall. The entrance length correlation of the transitional pulsating flows in a square duct is obtained to be $L_{e}$/ $D_{h}$=0.83 $A_{1}$R $e_{ta}$ /(.omega. sup+1)$^{2}$TEX>
Experiments are conducted to study bubble flow behavior during the instability of subcooled boiling under uniform and non-uniform transverse heating. The non-uniform heat distribution introduces nonuniform bubble generation and condensation rates on the heated surface, which is different from the uniform heating. These bubble generation and condensation characteristics introduce a non-uniform local pressure distribution in the transverse direction, which creates an extra non-uniform pressure on the flowing bubbles. Therefore, different bubble flow behavior can be observed between uniform and non-uniform heating conditions. In the uniform heating, bubble velocity fluctuations are low, and the bubbles travel straight along the axial direction. In the non-uniform heating, more fluctuation in the bubble velocity occurs at low mass flow rate and high subcooled inlet temperatures, and reverse flow is observed. Additionally, the bubbles show a zigzag trajectory when they pass through the channel, which indicates the existence of cross flow in the transverse direction.
The study of swirl flow has been of technical and scientific interest because it has an internal recirculation field and its tangential velocity is related to the curvature of the streamline. The fluid flow for ducts or elbows of an internal engine has been much studied through numerical methods and experiments, but studies about swirl flow has been insufficient. Using the PIV (Particle Image Velocimetry) method, this study found the time-mean velocity distribution, time-mean turbulent intensity, with swirl and without swirl flow for Re=10,000, 15,000, 20,000, and 25,000 along longitudinal sections and the results appear to be physically reasonable. In addition, axial velocity distribution is compared with that of Jeong's, Kodadadi's and Murakami's. It was found that the highest velocity of swirl and non-swirl flow occurs in the opposite position at the center of a round tube, $\phi$=45$^{\circ}$
The study of swirling flow is of technical and scientific interest because it has an internal recirculation field, and its tangential velocity is related to the curvature of streamline. The fluid flow for tubes and elbow of heat exchangers has been studied largely through experiments and numerical methods, but studies about swirling flow have been insufficient. Using the particle image velocimetry(PTV) method, this study found the time averaged velocity distribution with swirl and without swirl along longitude sections and the results appear to be physically reasonable. In addition, streamwise mean velocity distribution was compares with that of other. Furthermore, other experimental investigation was performed to study the characteristics of turbulent water flow in a horizontal circular tube by using liquid crystal. 2D PIV technique is employed for velocity measurement and liquid crystal is used for heat transfer experiments in water. Temperature visualization was made quantitatively by calibrating the colour of the liquid crystal versus temperature using various approaches.

This study analyzes the velocity and pressure incurred by protruding shapes installed within the inlet part of a pressurized membrane module during operation to determine the fluid flow distribution. In this paper, to find the flow distribution within a module, it investigates the velocity and pressure values at cross-sectional and outlet planes, and 9 sections classified on outlet plane using computational fluid dynamics. From the Reynolds number (Re), the fluid flow was estimated to be turbulent when the Re exceeded 4,000. In the vertical cross-sectional plane, shape 4 and 6 (round-type protrusion) showed the relatively high velocity of 0.535 m/s and 0.558 m/s, respectively, indicating a uniform flow distribution. From the velocity and pressure at the outlet, shape 4 also displayed a relatively uniform fluid velocity and pressure, indicating that fluid from the inlet rapidly and uniformly reached the outlet, however, from detailed data of velocity, pressure and flowrate obtained from 9 sections at the outlet, shape 6 revealed the low standard deviations for each section. Therefore, shape 6 was deemed to induce the ideal flow, since it maintained a uniform pressure, velocity and flowrate distribution.
