Unmaned Aerial Vehical(UAV) is a flight which is automatically flying by remote control on th ground. However UAV has an advantage of control that is easy, but has an disadvantage of not hovering. By comparison, quadcopter which is one of the UAV is easily operated. Also quadcopter has hovering function and high stability. In this paper, we propose stable flight algorithm associated PID(proportional-integral-derivative) control with fuzzy contorl to implement stable quadcopter system. After getting a positioning information of the drone, This proposed system is implemented for stable flight through flight attitude control using gyro and acceleration sensor. We also propose the flight mode system to hover drone with GPS sensor.

This paper introduces the upper stage attitude control system of KSLV-I, which is the first space launch vehicle in Korea. The KSLV-I upper stage attitude control system consists of two electro-hydraulic actuators and a reaction control system using cold nitrogen gas. A proportional, derivative, and integral controller is designed for the electro-hydraulic thrust vectoring system, and Schmidt trigger ON/OFF controllers are designed for the reaction control system. Each attitude controller is designed to have enough stability margins. The stability and performance of KSLV-I upper stage attitude control system is verified via hardware in the loop tests. Hardware in the loop tests are accomplished for perturbed flight conditions as well as nominal flight condition. The test results show that the attitude control loop of KSLV-I upper stage is very stable and the attitude controllers perform well for all flight conditions. Attitude controllers designed in this paper have been successfully applied to the first flight of KSLV-I on August 25, 2009. The flight test results show that all attitude controllers of the KSLV-I upper stage performed well and satisfied the accuracy specifications even during abnormal flight conditions.

This paper describes development and validation processes of a low-cost hardware based flight control computer designed for multi-rotor UAVs. The developed flight control computer controls multi-rotors stable and can handle complex flight missions using an integrated high-performance Linux computer. A complementary filter generates a navigation solution with 500 Hz, and a proposed observer significantly reduces measurement noise. A control algorithm utilizes a feed-forward term computed by a three-dimensional curve fitting method, and it increases tracking performance. The developed flight control system has been fully tested through several test flights, and it can apply to real flight environments.
Fuzzy logic is applied to a roll autopilot for missiles. Fuzzy rules are made so that the response duplicates that of the conventional control law for some flight condition. A scaling factor of the fuzzy controller is then scheduled by the missile velocity and altitude information to cope with the variation of the roll dynamics from that flight condition. By computer simulations and calculation of the stability margin, it is shown that the fuzzy control is robuster than the conventional one over the flight envelope even though two control laws work similarly for some flight conditions.

The paper presented here covers the work associated with the flight control law design, ground based and in flight simulation and handling qualities assessment of the Fly-by-Wire type Aircraft (FBWA). The FBWA configurations are of the same generic form of the Korean advanced trainer. The normal acceleration (Nz) and pitch rate (q) feedback control system is employed for longitudinal axis and roll rate (p) and lateral acceleration (Ny) feedback flight control law is developed in lateral/ directional axis. The flight tests for the FBW A dynamics evaluation were executed for the target aircraft (FBWA) on the IFS (In-Flight-Simulator) aircraft . The test results showed that Level 1 handling qualities for the most unstable flight regime and Level 1/2 for the landing approach flight regime were achieved. And the designed FBWA flight control law has revealed acceptable CHR (Cooper-Harper handling qualities Ratings).

Since the flight control computer of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is a flight critical equipment, it is necessary to ensure reliability and safety from the development step, and a redundancy-based fault management design is required in order to operate normally even a failure occurs. To reduce cost, weight and power consumption, the dual-redundant flight control system design is considered in UAV. However, there are various restrictions on the fault management design. In this paper, we propose the fault detection and isolation designs for the dual-redundant flight control computer to satisfy the safety requirements of an UAV. In addition, the flight control computer developed by applying the fault management design performed functional tests in the integrated test environment, and after performing FMET in the HILS, its reliability was verified through flight tests.

An aircraft collision accident is a disaster that causes great losses of inventories and lives. Though a collision avoidance warning function is provided automatically to pilots in the aircrafts by the enhancement of the aircraft capability, achieving fast decision-making to escape a collision situation is a complex and dangerous work for pilots. If an in-flight collision situation is controlled by the air traffic control system which monitors all airplanes in the air, it would be more efficient to prevent in-flight collisions because it can handle the emergency before the pilot's action. In this paper, we develop the collision avoidance warning function in the air traffic control system. Specifically, we design and implement the five stages of the collision avoidance function, and propose a visualization method which could effectively provide the operators with the trajectories and altitudes of the aircrafts in a collision situation. By developing an in-flight collision warning function in the air traffic control system that visualizes flight patterns through the state transition data of in-flight aircrafts on the flight path lines, it can effectively prevent in-flight collisions with traffic alerts. The developed function allows operators to effectively select and control the aircraft in a collision situation by providing the operators with the expected collision time, the relative distance, and the relative altitude while assessing the level of alert, and visualizing the alert information which includes the Attention-Warning-Alert phase via embodying the TCAS standard. With the developed function the air traffic control system could sense an in-flight collision situation before the pilot's decision-making moment.

The supersonic advanced trainer based on digital flight-by-wire flight control system uses aircraft flight information such as altitude, calibrated airspeed and angle of attack to calculate flight control law, and this information is measured by IMFP(Integrated Multi-Function Probe) equipment. The information has triplex structure using three IMFP sensors. Final value of informations is selected by mid-value selection logic to have more flight data reliability. As the result of supersonic flight test, pitch oscillation is occurred due to IMFP noise when altitude hold autopilot mode is engaged. This tendency may affect stability and handling quality of an aircraft during autopilot mode. This paper addresses autopilot control law design to remove pitch oscillation and these control laws are verified by non-real time simulation and flight test. Also, pitch response characteristics of pitch attitude hold autopilot mode is improved by upgrading the control law structure and feedback gain tuning during bank turn.
In this report, a longitudinal adaptive flight control law is presented for the automatic landing system of a Japanese automatic landing flight experiment vehicle (ALFLEX). The longitudinal adaptive flight control law is designed to track an output of the vehicle to a guidance signal from the guidance portion of the automatic landing system. The proposed adaptive control law in the attitude control portion adjusts the controller gains continuously online as flight conditions change, in spite of the existence of unmodeled dynamics. The number of the controller gains to be adjusted is decreased to 1/2 from the previous studies. Computer simulation involving six-degree-of-freedom (DOF) nonlinear flight dynamics is performed to examine the effectiveness of the proposed adaptive control law. In order to verify the influence of the dispersion of the initial conditions, the Monte Carlo simulation is also applied. The initial conditions are more widely dispersed than the previous studies. As a result, except under the unsuitable initial conditions, the ALFLEX successfully landed on the runway.
The inter-conversion between different control laws in flight has a lot of risk. The SWM(Switching Mechanism) including logic and stand-by mode is designed to analyze the transient response of aircraft during inter-conversion between different control laws, based on the in-house software for non-real-time and real-time simulation. The SWM applies the fader logic of TFS(Transient Free Switch) to minimize the transient response of an aircraft during the inter-conversion, and applies the reset '0' type of the stand-by mode to prevent surface saturation due to integrator effect in the disengaged flight control law. The transition time is also important to minimize the objectionable transient response in the inter-conversion, as well as the transition control law design. This paper addresses the results of non-real-time simulation for the characteristics of transient response to different transition time to select the adequate transient time, and the real-time pilot evaluation, using SSWM(Software Switching Mechanism) and HSWM(Hardware Switching Mechanism), which is met for Level 1 flying qualities and assures safety of flight.
