나선철근으로 횡구속된 정사각형 RC 기둥의 내진성능 (Seismic Performance of Square RC Column Confined with Spirals)

  • 본 연구에서는 비내진 교각의 내진성능과 휨-전단 거동을 파악하고자 형상비 4.5인 정사각형의 중실 및 중공단면 철근콘크리트 교각실험체를 제작하여 일정한 축력하에서 변위비 등급을 증가시켜 가면서 횡하중을 가력하는 실험을 수행하였다. 본 연구는 철근콘크리트 교각의 한정연성 내진설계를 위한 실험적 기초자료의 제공과 함께 성능단계별 교각성능 및 손상평가를 위한 정량적 수치와 경향을 제공하기 위한 것이며, 파괴거동, 극한변위, 극한드리프트비율, 변위연성도, 응답수정계수, 등가점성감쇠비, 잔류변형지수, 유효강성, 철근 변형률 등의 주요 내진성능 인자들에 대한 분석결과와 비선형 해석 결과를 나타내었다.

치환율에 따른 순환골재 콘크리트의 구조성능 분석 (Evaluations of Structural Performance of Recycled Aggregate Concrete According to Replacement Ratios)

  • This study is a fundamental research in order to establish the design code of recycled aggregate concrete structure. The structural properties of recycled aggregate concrete such as flexure, shear, fatigue, compression, and bond development are experimentally investigated and confirmed. In this study, laboratory-scale reinforced concrete beam, column, and pull-out test specimens using recycled coarse aggregate are manufactured. Then, the structural performances of recycled aggregate concrete according to replacement ratios of recycled coarse aggregate are evaluated. Also, finite element analysis using commercial code DIANA is carried out to predict the test results and the analysis results are compared with test results in this study. Structural test results showed that the structural performances of recycled aggregate concrete specimens with 60% replacement ratio are reduced by approximately 15-20%. These results indicated that the replacement ratio of recycled coarse aggregate within 30% is a suitable to use for structural members. The results of finite element analysis showed that the specimens with 30% replacement ratio possessed similar or more excellent structural performance than normal concrete specimens. However, recycled aggregate concrete with 60% replacement ratio of recycled coarse aggregate must be carefully considered for structural applications due to significant decrease of the failure loads.

  • 본 논문의 목적은 팔각형 중공단면 철근콘크리트 교각의 내진성능을 평가하고 축방향철근비가 파괴거동에 미치는 영향을 분석함에 있다. 축소모형 팔각형 중공단면 기둥 실험체 4개를 제작하여 일정한 축력 하에서 반복 횡하중을 가력하는 실험을 수행하였다. 모든 실험체의 횡방향 나선철근 체적비는 0.206%로 일정하고 축방향철근비는 2.36 ~ 4.71%이다. 파괴거동과 내진성능을 분석하였고 겹침이음 실험체를 제외한 3개의 실험체는 최종단계에서 휨-전단 파괴거동을 보였다. 겹침이음 실험체를 제외한 실험결과에서 변위연성도와 누적 에너지소산 능력이 축방향철근비에 반비례하여 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다.

Simplified analytical Moment-Curvature relationship for hollow circular RC cross-sections

  • The seismic vulnerability analysis of multi-span bridges can be based on the response of the piers, provided that deck, bearings and foundations remain elastic. The lateral response of an RC bridge pier can be affected by different mechanisms (i.e., flexure, shear, lap-splice or buckling of the longitudinal reinforcement bars, second order effects). In the literature, simplified formulations are available for mechanisms different from the flexure. On the other hand, the flexural response is usually calculated with a numerically-based Moment-Curvature diagram of the base section and equivalent plastic hinge length. The goal of this paper is to propose a simplified analytical solution to obtain the Moment-Curvature relationship for hollow circular RC sections. This based on calibrated polynomials, fitted against a database comprising 720 numerical Moment-Curvature analyses. The section capacity curve is defined through the position of 6 characteristic points and they are based on four input parameters: void ratio of the hollow section, axial force ratio, longitudinal reinforcement ratio, transversal reinforcement ratio. A case study RC bridge pier is assessed with the proposed solution and the results are compared to a refined numerical FEM analysis, showing good match.

Effect of flexure-extension coupling on the elastic instability of a composite laminate plate

  • The present study focuses on the effect of extension-bending coupling on the elastic stability (buckling) of laminated composite plates. These plates will be loaded under uni-axial or bi-axial in-plane mechanical loads, especially in the orthotropic or anti-symmetric cross-angle cases. The main objective is to find a limit where we can approximate the elastic stability behavior of angularly crossed anti-symmetric plates by the simple behavior of specially orthotropic plates. The contribution of my present study is to predict the explicit effect of extension-flexion coupling on the elastic stability of this type of panel. Critically, a parametric study is carried out, involving the search for the critical buckling load as a function of deformation mode, aspect ratio, plate anisotropy ratio and finally the study of the effect of lamination angle and number of layers on the contribution of extension-flexure coupling in terms of plate buckling stability. We use first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT) with a correction factor of 5/6. Simply supported conditions along the four boundaries are adopted where we can develop closed-form analytical solutions obtained by a Navier development.

Slit형(形) 강판으로 보강(補强)한 철근콘크리트 보의 전단거동에 관한 실험연구 (An Experimental Study on the Shear Behavior of Reinforced Concrete Beams Strengthened with Slit Type Steel Plates)

  • 기존 구조물의 RC 보는 전단내력이 부족한 경우가 빈번히 발생하며, RC 보의 전단파괴거동은 갑작스럽고 취성적이다. 자중의 증가를 줄이면서 전단성능을 향상시키는 보강방법으로 강판, 탄소 판 및 탄소섬유시트 등과 같은 보강재료를 사용하여 전단 내력이 부족한 기존 RC 보의 표면에 고성능 접착제로 부착하는 방법이 실무에서 가장 많이 적용되고 있다. 본 연구는 보강재료로 강판을 사용하며, 보강재료의 형태는 Slit의 크기와 모양으로 다양하게 변화시키고 유닛화하였다. 총16개 실험체에 대하여 전단보강근의 유무, Slit의 형상, 강판두께 등을 변수로 한 실험을 통하여 Slit형 강판으로 전단보강한 RC보에 대한 보강효과, 파괴성상 및 전단내력을 비교 분석하였다. 실험결과 파괴모드는 수직형 Slit(SV시리즈)실험체는 전단파괴를 하였고, 경사형 Slit(SD시리즈)실험체는 휨파괴 양상을 나타내었다. SV시리즈 실험체는 사인장 균열발생과 동시에 Slit 강판이 콘크리트 표면을 물고 떨어지는 부착박리 파괴거동으로 콘크리트 조기파괴를 하였다. SD시리즈 실험체들은 Solid 강판을 부착한 실험체보다 다소 큰 강성과 전단내력을 나타냈다. RC 보의 휨거동을 연성적으로 유도하기위한 전단보강방법은 경사형 Slit 강판의 적용이 효율적이었다.

휨 항복형 철근콘크리트 전단벽의 등가소성힌지길이 모델 (Equivalent Plastic Hinge Length Model for Flexure-Governed RC Shear Walls)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 경계요소를 갖는 철근콘크리트 전단벽의 잠재소성힌지길이를 합리적으로 평가할 수 있는 단순모델의 제시이다. 전단벽의 높이에 따른 이상화된 곡률분포로부터, 기본방정식은 항복모멘트와 최대모멘트 그리고 사인장균열에 의한 부가모멘트의 함수로 일반화되었다. 전단벽의 항복모멘트와 최대모멘트는 변형률 적합조건과 힘의 평형조건을 기반하여 산정하였다. 사인장균열 발생의 여부는 ACI 318-11에서 제시된 콘크리트의 전단력으로부터 검토되었으며, 부가모멘트는 Park and Paulay에 의해 제시된 트러스기구를 이용하여 산정하였다. 이들 모멘트식들은 다양한 변수범위에서 변수연구를 수행하였다. 결과적으로 등가소성힌지길이는 주철근 및 수직철근지수와 축력지수의 함수로 제시될 수 있었다. 제시된 등가소성힌지길이의 모델은 실험결과의 비교에서 평균 및 표준편차가 각각 1.019와 0.102로 실험 결과를 정확하게 예측하였다.

Effects of the location and size of web openings on shear behavior of clamped-clamped reinforced concrete beams

  • The present study pertains to the effects of variations in the location and size of drilled web openings on the behavior of fixed-fixed reinforced concrete (RC) beams. For this purpose, a reference bending beam with a transverse opening in each half span was tested to failure. Later, the same beam was modeled and analyzed with the help of finite element software using ABAQUS. Upon achieving close agreement between the experimental and numerical results, the location and size of the web opening were altered to uncover the effects of these factors on the shear strength and load-deflection behavior of RC beams. The experimental failure mode of the tested beam and the numerical results were also verified by theoretical calculations. In numerical analysis, when compared to the reference (D0) specimen, if the distance of the opening center from the support is 0 or h or 2h, reduction in load-bearing capacity of 1.5%-22.8% or 2.0%-11.3% or is 4.1%-40.7%. In other words, both the numerical analyses and theoretical calculations indicated that the beam behavior shifted from shear-controlled to flexure-controlled as the openings approached the supports. Furthermore, the deformation capacities, energy absorption values, and the ductilities of the beams with different opening diameters also increased with the decreasing distance of the opening from supports. Web compression failure was shown to be the predominant mode of failure of beams with large diameters due to the lack of sufficient material in the diagonal compression strut of the beam. The present study indicated that transverse openings with diameters, not exceeding about 1/3 of the entire beam depth, do not cause the premature shear failure of RC beams. Finally, shear damage should be prevented by placing special reinforcements in the areas where such gaps are opened.

Stress Simulation on Suspended Porcelain Insulators with Cement Displacement

  • The experimental and simulation study of insulator failure by cement growth on suspended insulators (16,500kgf) for transmission line was discussed. To get more practical and analytic calculation results, the advanced program was used. This analysis tool was possible to calculate stress behaviors with mechanical loading when cement displacement happened. From simulation results, the. cement displacement changed with linear according to temperature. The shear stress was about $7 kgf/mm^2$ at $0.07\%$ displacement provided from $200^{\circ}C$, then it could be seen that the cement would be fractured even if $0.07\%$ displacement acted, because the cement had about $7-9 kgf/mm^2$ flexure strength. The curve patterns of shear stress with the increase of mechanical loading were changed at $0.02\%$ as a turning point, when the cement displacement was over $0.02\%$ the shear stresses decreased reversely with the increase of mechanical loading. From analysis on porcelain body it was known that there were enough margin to protect the fracture of porcelain body before the cement

Effect of stiffener arrangement on hysteretic behavior of link-to-column connections

  • Link-to-column connections in Eccentrically Braced Frames (EBFs) have critical role in their safety and seismic performance. Accordingly, in this study, contribution of supplemental stiffeners on hysteretic behavior of the link-to-column connection is investigated. Considered stiffeners are placed on both sides and parallel to the link web between the column face and the first stiffener of the link. Hysteretic behaviors of the link beams with supplemental stiffeners are numerically investigated using a pre-validated numerical model in ANSYS. It turned out that supplemental stiffeners can change energy dissipation mechanism of intermediate links from shear-flexure to shear. Both rectangular and trapezoidal supplemental stiffeners are studied. Moreover, optimal placement of the supplemental stiffeners is also investigated. Obtained results indicate a discrepancy of less than 9% in maximum link shear of the numerical and experimental specimens. This indicates that the numerical results are in good agreement with those obtained from the test. Trapezoidal supplemental stiffeners improve rotational capacity of the link. Moreover, use of two supplemental stiffeners at both ends of the link can more effectively improve hysteretic behavior of intermediate links. Supplemental stiffeners would also alleviate the imposed demands on the connections. This latter feature is more pronounced in the case of two supplemental stiffeners at both ends of the link.
