Small electric motors in an automobile perform various tasks such as engine cooling, pumping, HVAC etc. At present, most of them are DC motors supplied by 12V or 24V batteries. However, DC motors suffer from low efficiency, life cycles and reliability. Therefore, there is a growing interest in substituting DC motors for advanced at motors including switched reluctance motors(SRM). Although there are several other forms SRM convertors, they are either unsatisfactory to the control performance or unsuitable for the 12V battery source. Especially, a conventional asymmetric converter of SRM provides the best flexible and effective control to the current waveform of SRM, but it has the most switches and produces conducting voltage drops across two power switches during SRM operation. For automotive applications with a 12V battery source, this circuit is inadequate. For considering the requirement for effective operation and simple structure of converter in the limited internal circumstance of automobiles, the author inclines toward selecting Modified C-dump converter and Energy efficient c-dump converter.
A distributed hardware-in-the-loop simulation (HILS) platform is developed for designing an automotive engine control system. The HILS equipment consists of a widely used PC and commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) I/O boards instead of a powerful computing system and custom-made I/O boards. The distributed structure of the HILS system supplements the lack of computing power. These features make the HILS equipment more cost-effective and flexible. The HILS uses an automatic code generation extension, REAL-TIME WORKSHOP$^{ (RTW$^{) of MATLAB$^{ tool-chain and RT-LAB$^{, which enables distributed simulation as well as the detection and generation of digital event between simulation time steps. The mean value engine model, which is used in control design phase, is imported into this HILS. The engine model is supplemented with some I/O subsystems and I/O boards to interface actual input and output signals in real-time. The I/O subsystems are designed to imitate real sensor signals with high fidelity as well as to convert the raw data of the I/O boards to the appropriate forms for proper interfaces. A lot of attention is paid to the generation of a precise crank/ earn signal which has the problem of quantization in a conventional fixed time step simulation. The detection of injection! command signal which occurs between simulation time steps are also successfully compensated. In order to prove the feasibility of the proposed environment, a simple PI controller for an air-to-fuel ratio (AFR) control is used. The proposed HILS environment and I/O systems are shown to be an efficient tool to develop various control functions and to validate the software and hardware of the engine control system.

In this paper, we proposed and implemented a dedicated hardware for Huffman coding which is a method of entropy coding to use compressing multimedia data with video coding. The proposed Huffman codec consists Huffman encoder and decoder. The Huffman encoder converts symbols to Huffman codes using look-up table. The Huffman code which has a variable length is packetized to a data format with 32 bits in data packeting block and then sequentially output in unit of a frame. The Huffman decoder converts serial bitstream to original symbols without buffering using FSM(finite state machine) which has a tree structure. The proposed hardware has a flexible operational property to program encoding and decoding hardware, so it can operate various Huffman coding. The implemented hardware was implemented in Cyclone III FPGA of Altera Inc., and it uses 3725 LUTs in the operational frequency of 365MHz
Selectivity estimation for spatial query is very important process used in finding the most efficient execution plan. Many works have been performed to estimate accurate selectivity. Although they deal with some problems such as false-count, multi-count, they can not get such effects in little memory space. Therefore, we propose a new technique called MW Histogram which is able to compress summary data and get reasonable results and has a flexible structure to react dynamic update. Our method is based on two techniques : (a) MinSkew partitioning algorithm which deal with skewed spatial datasets efficiently (b) Wavelet transformation which compression effect is proven. The experimental results showed that the MW Histogram which the buckets and wavelet coefficients ratio is 0.3 is lower relative error than MinSkew Histogram about 5%-20% queries, demonstrates that MW histogram gets a good selectivity in little memory.

This paper reports on the deposition conditions and properties of ITO films used as electrode layer in a organic light emitting diodes on a PET substrate. The deposition technique employed was specially designed roll-to-roll sputtering. The oxide was deposited at room temperature in an argon and oxygen plasma on a transparent conducting ITO layer on a PET film. The influence of deposition parameters such as DC power, working pressure and oxygen partial pressure has been investigated, in order to obtain the best compromise between a high deposition rate and adequate electro-optical properties. Electrical and optical properties of ITO films were analyzed by Hall measurement examinations with van der pauw geometry at room temperature and UV/Vis spectrometer analysis, respectively. In addition, the structural properties and surface smoothness were measured by x-ray diffraction and scaning electron microscopy, respectively. From optimized ITO films grown by roll-to-roll sputter system, good electrical$(6.44{\times}10^{-4}\;{\Omega}-cm)$ and optical(above 86 % at 550 nm) properties were obtained. Also, the ITO films exhibited amorphous structure and very flat surface beacause of low deposition temperature.

This study aims to investigate the impact of wide use of digital technology, in particular, the Internet, on innovation process and corporate strategy in electronics industry. The introduction of digital technology has changed innovation process, business model and organizational structure of the electronics companies. With the introduction of digital technology, the entire value chain of electronics industry from procurement, sales, and marketing to R&D and manufacturing has been restructured. E-commerce has been a major agenda for e-business. Recently, collaboration among electronics companies through e-marketplace has emerged as an important issue. A web-based e-commerce standard, so called RosettaNet, has been developed for facilitating e-transactions of electronics firms. The development of digital technology has dramatically increased the processing speed and sophisticated the virtual reality technology. As simulation becomes easier and more effective, the uncertainty and risk involved in R&D has decreased significantly. Another positive impact is closer cooperation between R&D and manufacturing functions. Taking advantage of automated and flexible production technology, has a new type of firm, so called, EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) emerged, whose strategic focus is on manufacturing only. The EMS can be seen as a kind of innovative organization, that is, a modular organization for production function. Digital technology has made convergence of computer and communication possible at early years but right now the convergence has been accelerated in extensive areas of communication, broadcasting, information appliances, software, contents, and services. Firms' effort for an innovative product and service has been intensified and the competition for a new standard product and service has become severe in electronics industry. Business activities are always realized in a specific organizational context. Accordingly building up innovation-friendly organization has emerged as a critical concern. Due to the striking decrease of transaction cost, a network type of organization has proliferated, and a business function turns into a modular organization. As a whole, digital technology has pushed electronics firms into developing their own business model, which takes consideration of standardization of business platform and their core competency.

If existing system need to expand security part, the security was established after paying much cost, processing of complicated installation and being patient with inconvenience at user's view because of closed structure. In this thesis, those defects could be overcome by using open security tools and constructing security server, which is firewall of 'bastion' form including proxy server, certification server and so on. Also each security object host comes to decide acceptance or denial where each packet comes from, then determines security level each hosts. Precisely it is possible choosing the packets from bastion host or following at the other policies. Although an intruder enter into inside directly, it is constructed safely because encryption algorithm is applied at communication with security object host. This thesis suggests more flexible, independent and open security system, which improves existing security through systematic linkage between system security and network security.
The twelve macrocycle (L) complexes of cadmium(II) nitrate have been synthesized: $CdL(NO_3)_2$. All the complexes have been indentified by elemental analysis, electric conductivity measurements, IR and NMR spectroscopic techniques. The molar electric conductivities of the complexes in water and acetonitrile solvent were in the range of 236.8-296.1 $cm^2{\cdot}mol^{-1}{\cdot}ohm^{-1}$ at 25$^{\circ}$C. The characteristic peaks of macrocycles affected from Cd(II) were shifted to lower frequencies as compared with uncomplexed macrocycles. A complex with 1,4,8,11-tetrakis(methylacetato)-1,4,8,11-tetraaza cyclodecane (L4) exhibited two characteristic bands such as strong stretching (1646 $cm^{-1})$, and weaker symmetric stretching band (1384 $cm^{-1})$. NMR studies indicated that all nitrogen donor atoms of macrocycles have greater affinity to cadmium(II) metal ion than do the oxygen atoms. The $^{13}$C-resonance lines of methylene groups neighboring the donor atom such as N and S were shifted to a direction of high magnetic field and the order of chemical shifts were $L_1 < L_2 < L_3 < L_6 < L_4$. Also the chemical shifts values were larger than those of methylene groups bridgeheaded in side-armed groups. This result seems due to not only the strong interaction of Cd(Ⅱ) with nitrogen donors according to the HSAB theory, but weak interaction of Cd(Ⅱ) and COO- ions or sulfur which is enhanced by the flexible methylene spacing group in side-armed groups. Thus, each additional gem-methyl pairs of L_3, L_4\;and\; L_6$ macrocycles relative to $L_1, L_2,\;and\;L_5$ leads to an large enhancement in Cd(II) affinity. ^{13}C$-NMR spectrum of the complex with $L_{12}$ (1,5,9,13-tetracyclothiacyclohexadecane-3,11-diol) reveals the presence of two sets of three resonance lines, and intensities of the each resonance line have the ratio of 1 : 2 : 2. This molecular conformation is predicted as structure of tetragonal complex to be formed by coordinating two sulfur atoms and the other two sulfur atoms which is affected by OH-groups.
This study was conducted to characterize shearing strength of geotextile bag, connecting materials and gabion. A largescale shaking take tests were conducted to assess kinetic characteristics of gabion-geotextile bag retaining wall. Based on the results of large-scale shaking table test, dynamic characteristics of gabion-geotextile bag retaining wall structure against acceleration, displacement, and earth pressure were also analyzed. The increments of dynamic active earth pressure were determined to be (0.376-0.377)H at 1:0.3 slope and $(0.154-0.44)g_n$ earthquake acceleration, and (0.389-0.393)H at 1:1 slope, suggesting that the increments tend to rise as the slope decreases.
Long-span cross-strait bridges extending into deep-sea waters are exposed to complex marine environments. During the construction stage, the flexible freestanding bridge towers are more vulnerable to environmental loads imposed by wind and wave loads. This paper presents an experimental investigation on the dynamic responses of a 389-m-high freestanding bridge tower model in a test facility with a wind tunnel and a wave flume. An elastic bridge model with a geometric scale of 1:150 was designed based on Froude similarity and was tested under wind-only, wave-only and wind-wave combined conditions. The dynamic responses obtained from the tests indicate that large deformation under resonant sea states could be a structural challenge. The dominant role of the wind loads and the wave loads change according to the sea states. The joint wind and wave loads have complex effects on the dynamic responses of the structure, depending on the approaching direction angle and the fluid-induced vibration mechanisms of the waves and wind.
