A novel Control scheme for SRM drives (SRM구동을 위한 새로운 제어방식)

  • A novel control scheme for a Switched Reluctance Motor(SRM) drive is described. To increase torque, and to commutate easily, flat-topped phase current and fixed switching angle control is proposed. The conditions for flat-topped phase current are analyzed. It is achieved by voltage control with fixed switching angle. The proposed control system was tested to verify this suggestion. (author). refs., figs., tab.

  • A novel control scheme for a Switched Reluctance Motor(SRM) drive is described. The control scheme which is to increase torque, to decrease torque ripples and easy to commutate is suggested. The conditions for high torque drive which includes flat-topped phase current and voltage control arc analyzed and adopted in this control scheme. Flat-topped current is achived via dc-link voltage control. The suggested control system was tested to verify this suggestion.

  • This paper presents the reasonable design parameters of a switched reluctance motor to drive a hybrid electric vehicle by using the equivalent magnetic circuit method. The designed motor can be redesigned by using finite element analysis as a variation of the parameter for the purpose of improving performance. This paper shows that a flat-topped current of a phase can be made from a change of the lamination stack length for high average torque and a lower torque ripple. The change of current falling time as a variation of turn-off angle was shown by finite element analysis. The core loss and copper loss were described. The torque of the redesigned motor is suitable for low and high speed ranges to drive a HEV. which is verified by the speed-torque curve.

  • As the current shape of SRM is of pulse type and changed by the motor parameters and drive conditions, the influences on the drive efficiency by control method are more than other types of motors. In this paper, a proper excitation condition to drive a SRM with high efficiency is proposed and tested. It is derived from the conditions that the phase current of a SRM is to be flat-topped at various drive. The saturation effect of magnetic circuit is accounted for more accurate analysis. Experimental tests are executed to verify the proposed excitation method. This drive system is easy to commutate and also advantageous in reducing torque ripple. (author). 6 refs., 10 figs., 1 tab.

  • This paper is to develop a digital inverter using microcontroller for a Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) driver. The closed-loop speed control system with fixed switching angle and variable voltage control is used to from a flat-topped phaes current and to simplfiy the drive system. This could be driven in a wide speed range with flat-topped current. Mifcrocontroller os used to be compact and to have a flexbility in the control system.

A Study on a Planar Array Antenna Design with a Flat-Topped Radiation Pattern (구형 방사 패턴을 갖는 평면 배열 안테나 설계에 대한 연구)

  • In this paper, the design, fabrication and experiment on a planar array antenna with a flat-topped radiation pattern for a mobile base station antenna were described. The current distribution of an antenna aperture, which is easily realizable in a feeding network compared with the conventional one of sin(x)/x was optimized for shaping a desired flat-topped radiation pattern. The planar array antenna designed in this paper has a rectangular lattice and is composed of array elements of 16${\times}$8. Each radiating element, which is a microstrip element fed coaxially, has a linear vertical polarization and the feed network which use a Wilkinson power divider and a 180$^{\circ}$ ring hybrid coupler as a base element is designed. The flat-topped radiation pattern with 90$^{\circ}$ is shaped by 16 array elements with the element spacing of 0.55 λ$_{ο}$ in the azimuth plane, and the normal radiation pattern with 10$^{\circ}$ is shaped by 8 array elements with the element spacing of 0.65 λ$_{ο}$ in the elevation plane. Also, the planar array antenna is symmetrically divided into four parts. It consists of one hundred-twenty-eight radiating elements, thirty-two 1-4 column dividers, low 1-8 row dividers and one 1-4 input power divider. In order to verify electrical performances of the planar way antenna proposed in this paper, the experimental breadboard operated in tile band of 1.92~2.17 GHz(IMT2000 band) was fabricated, and its experimental results were a good agreement with simulation ones.

  • This paper suggests a SRM control scheme driven by a variable voltage source. This scheme shows that it is unnecessary to introduce a switch to control dc-link voltage and to limit a phase current. And its vary easy to build-up flat-topped phase current which is advantageous to the high torque and efficiency drive of a SRM. Experimental tests are shown to verify this suggestion.

  • A Switched Reluctance Motor(SRM) has a torque pulsating inherently due to characteristics of pulse driving. A torque pulsating causes noise and sound vibration. To reduce a noise, a torque pulsating shall be controlled. Many efforts to make flat-topped current has been proposed to minimize a torque pulsating up to now. This paper proposed a control scheme to minimize the vibration of SRM by controlling the vibration directly by using of self-turning technique. The experimental results show that the proposed control scheme is effective in reducing the torque ripple and noise.

  • 본 논문은 스위치드 릴럭턴스 전동기의 디지털 속도제어시스템의 개발에 관한 연구이다. 전동기의 운전중 토오크의 맥동을 저감하기 위해 평탄 상전류(flat-topped phase current)가 되도록 전원부에 고속초퍼를 사용하여 운전조건에 따라 상전압을 제어하였다. 또한 토크 발생영역을 최대화하기 위한 제어방식을 제안하고 이를 위한 여자조건을 산정하였다. 제안한 전압 및 위상각 제어방식을 이용하여 페루우프 속도제어시스템을 구성하였으며, 제어회로는 마이크로프로세서를 사용하였다. 제안한 이론의 타당성을 확인하기 위해 실험결과를 보였다.

  • This paper represent improved On-line Turn off Angle control schemes for switched reluctance motors based on current control. For the purpose of the finding optimal commutation switching angle point, it is utilized him on and turn off position calculation with inductance vs. current vs. flux linkage analysis method. The goal of proposed paper is the maximization of the energy conversion per stroke and maximizing efficiency and obtaining approximately flat-topped current waveform. The proposed control scheme is demonstrated on a prototype experimental system.
