The more sophisticated patterns of propagation model is presented in this paper, which includes three different source characteristics. The spherical, cosine and dipole radiation characteristics compared and sound event level and the maximum sound level are calculated by experiment and calculation. It is shown that patterns of propagation has dipole characteristics for low speed range(below about 150km/h) at electric multiple system. We know that push-pull high speed system(maximum speed: 300km/h) has cosine characteristics of noise propagation. For this purpose, We conduct the experiment of noise and know the empirical formula of noise level and radiation coefficient K. This model of simulation is conducted through point source array model at wheel/rail contact point by using program and experimental formula. We can guess prediction of profile, flat and wear of wheel by above modeling in near field.
Rail is one of major track components for train service, it should be provided in the condition of flat and smooth driving aspect. Therefore, it is inevitable that there would be the field welding to integrate on CWR(Continuous Welded Rail) removing rail joint in these days. It is high chance to be some rail surface irregularity due to the limitation on the status of work condition If a high speed train runs on the rail surface irregularity in the welding part, big impact load comes to pass on that, so track irregularity cycle is reduced, therefore track maintenance cost can be increased. this paper has analyzed wheel load variation according to removing the rail surface irregularity using portable grinding machine in the high speed line. The result measured before and after in the field is decreased about 9.26% on the wheel load variation.

Purpose: The aim of this study is to develop a three-wheel riding cultivator for improving the performance of the current four-wheel riding cultivators in the market. Methods: A prototype three-wheel riding cultivator with the rated power of 15.5-kW, a primary hydrostatic and a two-speed selective gear transmission shifts, front/rear three-wheel drive, a hydraulic wheel tread adjustment, and the mid-section attachment of the major implements was designed and constructed. Its specifications and basic performance are investigated. Results: The maximum speeds of the prototype at the low and high stages were measured to be approximately 7.31, and 11.29 km/h in forward travel, respectively, and approximately 3.60, and 6.37 km/h in rearward travel, respectively. The minimum ground clearance is shown to be 670 mm. The rotating speeds of the power takeoff (PTO) shaft at the low and high stages are shown to be approximately 795 and 1,140 rpm, respectively. The tread of the rear wheels, the minimum radius of turning, and the maximum lifting height of the parallel link device are measured to be within 1,320-1,720 mm, 2.80 m, and 390 mm, respectively. Approximately 25.3% and 74.7% of the total weight of the prototype are distributed in the front and rear wheels on flat ground, respectively. When the tread of rear wheels increased from 1,320 to 1,720 mm, the left and right static lateral overturning angles increased from $33.4^{\circ}$ to $39.1^{\circ}$ and from $29.0^{\circ}$ to $36.1^{\circ}$, respectively. Conclusions: The prototype three-wheel riding cultivator showed a wide range of travel and PTO speeds, high minimum ground clearance, small minimum radius of turning, and easy control of the rear wheel tread. Further, the easy observation of cultivating operations by mid-mounting the implements can improve quality of work. Therefore, the prototype is expected to contribute to the riding mechanization of cultivating operations for various upland crops in Korea.
Hemming, especially curl hemming, is required along the wheel housing for safety. Robot roller hemming is suitable for it. In this paper, both the flat hemming and the curl hemming along either the straight profile or the curved profile are analyzed using finite element program MSC.Marc to verify the hemming test results. Both the inner panel and the outer panel are modeled using 3-D solid elements and the roler is modeled using rigid surface. In the curl hemming, there is a case that the curl is not formed if the pre-hemming force is not sufficient. It agrees with the test results.

The inside contact characteristics in abrasive belt drives were investigated analytically and experimentally for (1) driver pulley contact wheel and (2) driven pulley contact wheel. The concentrated contact forces in the grinding zone divided the entire belt-pulley contact are by three distinct areas and the tangential friction forces in the active areas caused the normal forces to change, which resulted in the different belt force distribution compared with those of the ordinary flat belt drives. The experimental results for the normal pressure (belt tension) distribution were in good agreement with the theoretical results.
In this paper we present the linearized equations of motion for a bicycle as a benchmark. The results obtained by pencil-and-paper and two programs are compared. The bicycle model we consider here consists of four rigid bodies, viz. a rear frame, a front frame being the front fork and handlebar assembly, a rear wheel and a front wheel, which are connected by revolute joints. The contact between the knife-edge wheels and the flat level surface is modelled by holonomic constraints in the normal direction and by non-holonomic constraints in the longitudinal and lateral direction. The rider is rigidly attached to the rear frame with hands free from the handlebar. This system has three degrees of freedom, the roll, the steer, and the forward speed. For the benchmark we consider the linearized equations for small perturbations of the upright steady forward motion. The entries of the matrices of these equations form the basis for comparison. Three diffrent kinds of methods to obtain the results are compared : pencil-and-paper, the numeric multibody dynamics program SPACAR, and the symbolic software system Auto Sim. Because the results of the three methods are the same within the machine round-off error, we assume that the results are correct and can be used as a bicycle dynamics benchmark.

This paper presents design and control of a wheelchair robot for handicapped or elderly persons. Novel multi-functional design concepts are introduced. The first function is to balance the chair always parallel to the flat ground so that the driver feels comfortable when he/she drives on the slope. The second function is to help the driver to stand up by pushing the chair so that the driver can get out from the chair with ease. The third design is to make it foldable for easy carrying for automobiles. The last function is an immediate stop and start protection. Experimental studies are conducted to demonstrate the feasibility and functionality of each mechanical design.

This paper reports some experimental result in grinding and polishing of silicon cathodes used in semiconductor manufacturing process. Cup shape diamond core wheels were used in experiments and the radial and tangential grinding forces were measured with surface roughness. In polishing experiments, flat type and donut type wool polishing tools were tested. The experimental results indicate that the grinding forces are proportional to the material removal rates and the surface roughness are inversely proportional to the spindle speed. The surface roughness of polished Si decreases with polishing time and higher spindle speed.

The brake system of train must posses the large braking effort in order to stop the train safely within the limited traveling distance. But, the excessive braking effort has been deteriorated the ride comfort due to high level of deceleration and jerk, and sometimes occurred the skid, because the applied braking force exceeds the allowable adhesive force. This skid causes not only to increase the stopping distance but also to deteriorate the safety of train and damage the rail surface by wheel flat. In the present paper, the braking force for disc brake of Korea High Speed Train (HSR350x) was measured through on-line test and the adhesion force was estimated by using the analytic model in the skid condition. Also, we have discussed the relationship between the actual disc brake force and the adhesion force in real skid condition.

Even though a flexible disk grinding process was often applied to enhance the product quality, it produced non-flat zone in the beginning and the exit (end) area. Since latter area is susceptible to poor product quality with burn mark, careful analysis is required to cope with such degradation. The flexible disk grinding exit stage was analyzed for workpiece length, wheel speed, depth of cut and feed. The exit stage qualities defined as exit stage ratio and exit stage angle or slope was characterized. A neural network application results reveled that exit stage characteristics was predicted more accurately without workpiece dimension with minimum error of 1.3%.
