X-선 형광분석기를 이용한 현장방염검사방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the On-site Flame Resistant Inspection Method by X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometer)

  • 현행법상 현장방염 처리한 실내장식물은 관할 소방서에서 45도 연소시험을 통해 방염성능검사에 합격하여야 한다. 45도 연소시험법은 방염성능을 확인할 수 있는 가장 정확한 시험법이지만 시료 제출자가 부정시료를 제출하였을 경우에는 시험결과를 신뢰할 수 없다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 보완하기 위하여 X-선 형광분석기를 이용한 현장방염 검사방법을 제안하고자 한다. 총 10종의 방염도료를 합판 및 MDF에 처리하여 그 성분을 X-선 형광분석기로 분석한 결과 함유된 물질의 함량 차이로 인해 각 방염제마다 고유의 스펙트럼을 나타내고 있었으며, 측정기기로 손쉽게 각 물질별 함량(%)을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 제도적인 절차가 마련된다면 효율적인 현장방염검사방법으로 사용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

A STUDY ON THE FLAMMABILITY OF NON-FLAME-RETARDANT AND FLAME-RETARDANT MATERIALS BY USING CONE CALORIMETER

  • Flammability of non-flame-retardant and flame-retardant materials was studied by using cone calorimeter Also, relations between the results obtained by using cone calorimeter and those obtained by the flammability test of japanese fire Service Law were examined. The results are as follows: 1) The ignition time of the molten specimens is relatively long, whereas the ignition time of the non-molten specimens is short. None of remarkable difference of the ignition time has been found between non-flame-retardant and flame-retardant materials specimens. 2) The peak heat release rates of flame-retardant materials are smaller than those of non-flame- retardant materials. 3) The carbon monoxide and smoke evolved from flame-retardant materials generate much more than those evolved from non-flame-retardant materials. 4) Even if flame-retardant materials are passed by the flammability test of Japanese Fire Service Law, they burn easily under external radiative heating condition.

IRWST 환형관 실험장치 내의 수소화염 가속현상에 대한 CFD 해석 연구 (CFD ANALYSIS FOR HYDROGEN FLAME ACCELERATION IN THE IRWST ANNULUS TEST FACILITY)

  • We developed a preliminary CFD analysis methodology to predict a pressure build up due to hydrogen flame acceleration in the APR1400 IRWST on the basis of CFD analysis results for test data of hydrogen flame acceleration in a scaled-down test facility performed by Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute. We found out that ANSYS CFX-13 with a combustion model of the so-called turbulent flame closure and a model constant of A = 5.0, a grid model with a hexahedral cell length of 5.0 mm, and a time step size of $1.0{\times}10^{-5}$ s can be a useful tool to predict the pressure build up due to the hydrogen flame acceleration in the test results. Through the comparison of the simulated results with the test results, we found out that the proposed CFD analysis methodology enables us to predict the peak pressure within an error range of about ${\pm}29%$ for the hydrogen concentration of 19.5%. However, the error ranges of the peak pressure for the hydrogen concentration of 15.4% and 18.6% were about 66% and 51%, respectively. To reduce the error ranges in case of the hydrogen concentration of 15.4% and 18.6%, some uncertainties of the test conditions should be clarified. In addition, an investigation for a possibility of flame extinction in the test results should be performed.

난류 예혼합 연소기에서의 흡입 유동 섭동에 대한 화염의 동적 거동 (Flame Dynamic Response to Inlet Flow Perturbation in a Turbulent Premixed Combustor)

  • This paper describes the forced flame response in a turbulent premixed gas turbine combustor. The fuel was premixed with the air upstream of a choked inlet to avoid equivalence ratio fluctuations. To impose the inlet flow velocity, a siren type modulation device was developed using an AC motor, rotating and static plates. Measurements were made of the velocity fluctuation in the nozzle using hot wire anemometry and of the heat release fluctuation in the combustor using chemiluminescence emission. The test results showed that flame length as well as geometry was strongly dependent upon modulation frequency in addition to operating conditions such as inlet velocity. Convection delay time between the velocity perturbation and heat release fluctuations was calculated using phase information of the transfer function, which agreed well with the results of flame length measurements. Also, basic characteristics of the flame nonlinear response shown in the current test conditions were introduced.

나노클레이 첨가에 따른 할로겐프리 난연컴파운드의 수직난연 특성 향상에 관한 연구 (A Study on Perpendicular Flame Retardant Characteristic Improvement of Halogen-free Flame Retardant Compounds by Nanoclay Addition)

  • The object of this study is to obtain the optimum mix proportion of halogen free compound with flame resistance and, for the purpose, thermal/electrical characteristics test are conducted using compatibilizing agents, flame resistance agents, hydroxide aluminum, sunscreen, antioxidant and silicon oil on the base resin of linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE), Ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA). Existing compound method accompanies many requirements to be satisfied including a lot of addition of flame resistance agents, prohibition of impact on mixing capability with base and property and etc. In this study, different from the existing method, the optimum mix proportion is determined and experimented by adding nano clay. Oxygen index test shows no difference between specimens while T-6, T-9 shows oxygen index of 29[%] and 26[%], respectively. This is concluded that hydroxide aluminum, which is a flame resistance agent, leads low oxygen index. From UL94-V vertical flame resistance test, the combustion behavior is determined as V-0, Fail based on UL94-V decision criteria. Viscometry shows low measurements in specimens with separate addition of compatibilizing agents or nano clay. Volume resistivity test shows low measurement mainly in specimens without compatibilizing agents. Therefore, with the flame resistance compound shows better performance for thermal/electrical property and the optimum mix proportion are achieved among many existing materials.

배관 보온필름의 화재특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the fire characteristic of pipe insulation film materials)

  • This study was performed to test the combustive properties of the pipe insulation materials which are mainly used in the industries and buildings. Fire characteristic test of pipe insulation film according to the KS F ISO 5660-1 was performed. The experimental materials commonly used in the pipe insulation were used four kinds of films. Two kinds of 4 types of products that have the flame retardant performance and the other two types of them have no flame retardant performance. They were selected for fire characteristic test. The result of finding 25kW/$m^2$ radiation from the ignition was that flame retardant products were 140sec and the other one were 69sec in average of heat release rate(HRR). The result of flame retardant products in the 50kW/$m^2$ was 34sec and the other one were 15sec in average of HRR. However, the HRR of flame retardant products was much higher than the other one. Flame propagation test was conducted according to the KOFEIS 1001. The result of flame retardant products was that flame retardant products had a hold without fire spread after firing them. But the other one were completely fired after firing them. Therefore, I want to recommend that flame retardant products need to be used by the regulation to prevent or decrease a fire spread.

  • Flame retardancy and mechanical properties of polyolefinic mixed waste plastics/filler composites were investigated by using inorganic flame retardant(magnesium hydroxide) and PUB(polyurethane block) powder generated from cryogenic insulation process. All composites were obtained by extrusion and after compression molding. The effect of PUB powder on the properties of the composites was studied by tensile and izod impact test, morphology studies and flammability as LOI and UL94 vertical burning test and smoke density. The objective of this work is to obtain good mechanical properties from recycled PP composites with $Mg(OH)_{2}/PUB$ powder as fillers and optimum cost-performance balance, in addition to flame retardant characteristics.

친환경 액상 난연제를 이용한 대나무섬유의 난연화 연구 (Study on the Improvement of Flame Retardancy of Bamboo Fiber Using Eco-Friendly Liquid Flame Retardant)

  • 천연섬유는 가연성이 높아 난연화가 쉽지않으며, 친환경적인 특성을 활용하기 위해서는 친환경적으로 난연화시키는 것이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 자연으로부터 유래한 난연 후보물질인 Phytic acid, APTES, Thiourea를 기반으로 하는 액상 난연제를 제조하고 대나무 섬유의 난연처리 및 난연성 평가를 통하여 그 성능을 입증하고자 하였다. 액상 난연제를 사용할 경우 대량의 천연섬유에 대한 난연처리가 가능하다. 다구찌 시험계획법에 따라 9종류의 난연처리된 대나무 섬유를 준비하였다. 그후 난연성 평가를 위하여 수직 연소시험 및 마이크로칼로리미터 시험을 수행하였으며, SEM을 이용하여 난연처리 전후의 천연섬유 표면을 비교하였다. 시험결과 Phytic acid가 천연섬유의 난연성 향상에 매우 큰 효과가 있음을 알 수 있었으며 미세구조 분석을 통하여 난연제가 천연섬유 표면에 균일하게 부착되는데 도움을 주는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이와 같은 연구성과를 활용할 경우 대량의 천연섬유를 친환경적인 방법으로 고난연화 하는 것이 가능하여 시제품 적용에 유리할 것으로 기대된다.

폴리올레핀계 폐플라스틱/복합filler 성형체의 난연성 및 기계적 물성 연구 (Flame Retardancy and Mechanical Property of Recycled Polyolefinic Plastic Composites with Hybrid fillers)

  • Flame retardancy and mechanical properties of recycled polyolefinic plastics/inorganic filler composite systems were investigated by using several inorganic flame retardants such as magnesium hydroxide and slag powder generated electro arc furnace Compatibilizer user each maleic anhydride functionalized polyethylene (PE-g-MAH) and polypropylene(PP-g-MAH) or used mixture of these. The effect of polymeric compatibilizers on the properties of composites was studied by tensile and impact test, differential scanning calorimetry, in the changed fracture mechanism. The improved adhesion was particularly reflected in the mechanical properties. The flame retardancy of composites was examined by measuring limiting oxygen index(LOI, ASTM D2863), smoke density(ASTM D2843) and vertical burning test(UL94). Regarding the flame retardant effect, the EAF slag powder is behaving as synergists as they are only active in the presence of magnesium hydroxide.

  • 본 연구에서는 75톤급 추진기관 시험설비 화염유도로 설계안에 대한 열적 안전성 및 연소가스의 안전한 배출을 평가하기 위하여 3차원 화염냉각해석을 수행하였다. 화염과 냉각수 간의 열전달 및 상변화 과정을 모사하기 위하여 Mixture 다상모델을 적용하였으며, 단일 화학종 비반응 플룸모델을 이용한 화염냉각해석을 수행하였다. 본 해석결과를 통하여 냉각수 유량에 따른 화염유도로 벽면에서의 최고 온도값을 예측하였으며, 또한 콘크리트 내화온도에 해당하는 최소 냉각수 유량을 도출하였다.
