A Study on the Flame Retardant Performance and Toxicity of the Painting Wood Painted with Flame Retardant Solution (방염처리된 단청목재의 방염성능 및 유독성에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, I evaluated toxicity that analyze performance of flame-retardant about flame-retardant painting wood and combustion gas that is based on the toxicity index. Processing condition of flame retardant solution and treatment method of samples didn't affect greatly to performance of flame retardant. Occurrence of combustion gas showed a almost similar result from the sample which spraying flame retardant solution and toxicity corresponds to high level, Hazard Class III, and the flame retardant solution saturation sample which makes put out Hazard Class II which is a low toxicity relatively.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the flame retardant characteristics of wood finished with painting by followed in exposure conditions and flame retardant application method. According to painting types and flame retardant application methods salting occurrences undergoing an influence about the wood finished painting, confirmed. And influence to flame retardant characteristics of exposure condition on large scale not to be and occurrence quantity of the combustion gas undergone and influence In application method of flame trtardant.

  • Korean wooden cultural heritages are treated by flame retardants to protect fire hazards. Two types of flame retardants are used to treat wooden cultural heritage. These flame retardants cause some problems such as surface whitening, discoloration, and cracks due to the chemical reaction caused by Korean traditional wood painting (Dancheong), flame retardant and wood humidity. The Korean government is trying to cut down on the amount of flame retardants for the wooden cultural heritage because of these problems. This study was carried out to find the cause of whitening by flame retardants treatment. The reaction between pigment and flame retardant chemicals was analyzed by infrared spectroscopy.

  • 본 연구에서는 방염제가 적용되는 방염대상물에 대한 검정기술기준과 목조문화재에 적용되는 방염제의 검정기준의 차이에 대해 비교하여 보았으며 이를 통해 단청 등이 도색되어 있는 대부분의 목조문화재에 적용되는 방염제의 성능과 방염 처리되어진 일반 목재의 방염성능평가방법에 대하여 생각해 보았다. 목조문화재용 방염제 검정기준 내의 방염성 평가는 소방방재청 고시 제 2009-31호의 "방염제의 형식승인 및 검정기술기준"과 비교하였을 때 목재를 비교대상으로 할 경우 방염성능 기준 및 측정방법과 동일하거나 거의 유사하였으며 방염제의 물성 등에 대한 기본적인 평가방법 또한 동일한 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 시험시편에 대한 규정에 있어서 목조문화재용 시험편의 경우 일정 두께이하로 규정하고 있어 시험하는 시편의 두께에 따라 방염성능 평가기준에 도달하지 못하는 경우가 발생할 수 있을 것으로 판단되어진다.
