A directed triple system of order ν, denoted by DTS(ν), is said to be $textsc{k}$-near rotational if it admits an automorphism consisting of exactly three fixed elements and $textsc{k}$ cycles of length (ν-3)/$textsc{k}$. In this paper, we obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of $textsc{k}$-near rotational DTS(ν)s for every positive integer $textsc{k}$.

An extended Steiner triple system of order v, denoted by ESTS(v), is said to be (f, k)-rotational if it admits an automorphism consisting of exactly f fixed elements and k cycles of length (equation omitted). In this paper, we obtain a necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of (f,2)-rotational extended Steiner triple systems with f=2 and f=3.

The IEEE 802.11 DCF forces neighboring nodes of an active transmitter to switch into inactive state. This conservative nature brings frame latency at transmitter neighborhood. This work exploits the IEEE 802.11n Frame Aggregation scheme to allow simultaneous transmissions from nodes that are neighbors to each-other. This is accomplished by the synchronization of control and data transmissions in slots of fixed length. Proposed scheme reduces the frame latency and improves aggregated network throughput.

The design and application of optimal control technique to the rotary shearing system is mentioned in this paper. To maximize the accuracy in both shearing length and blade speed at shearing, time-varying gain patterns for closed loop control are designed on the basis of fixed terminal time constrained optimal regulator. The performance accuracy in real application has greatly improved than the conventional way of shearing control.

A two dimensional pseudo-homogeneous model for the methanol reforming reaction was developed and its steady and dynamic states were studied by a computer simulation. The reactor tube diameter, the catalyst density in the fixed bed, the feed flow rate, the feed temperature and the external temperature were chosen to be adjusted to determine the length of the reactor. The dynamics of the reactor showed that the system was highly nonlinear and sensitive to the feed disturbances.

For fixed positive integers and $\textit{k}\;(n\;{\geq}\;{\textit{k}}\;+\;2)$, the exact probability distributions of non-overlapping and overlapping patterns of two failures separated by (i) exactly $textsc{k}$ successes, (ii) at least $\textit{k}$ successes and (iii) at most $\textit{k}$ successes have been obtained for Bernoulli independent and Markov dependent trials by using combinatorial technique. The waiting time distributions for the first occurrence and the $r^{th}$ (r > 1) occurrence of the patterns have also been obtained.

In this research, we concentrate on the effects of dependencies in arrival processes on queueing measures. In particular, we use a specific form of arrival process which has the advantage of allowing us to change dependency properties without at the same time changing one dimensional distributional conditions. It is shown that the mean queue length can be made arbitrarily large with the same interarrival distributions and the same service time distributions with fixed smaller than one traffic intensity.

A parametric cubic spline interpolating at fixed number of nodes is constructed by formulating a parametric cubic $g^2$ B-splines $S_3(t)$ with not equally spaced parametric knots. Since the fact that each component is in $C^2$ class is not enough to provide the geometric smoothness of parametric curves, the existence of $S_3(t)$ oriented toward the modified second-order geometric continuity is focalized in our work.
