Power factor correction of the three phase boost converter using DSP control (DSP 제어에 의한 3상 Boost 컨버터의 역률개선)

  • In this paper, a three phase boost converter that operates with unity power factor and sinusodial input currents is presented. The current control of the converter is based on the space vector strategy with fixed switching frequency and the input current tracks the reference current within one sampling time interval. Space vector strategy for current control was materialized as a digital control method by using DSP. By using this control strategy low ripples in the output voltage, low harmonics in the input current and fast dynamic responses are achieved with a small capacitance in the dc link.

  • Recently, the three phase AC to DC boost converter has become one of the most widely used power converters as DC power source in the industry applications. In this paepr, a three phase PWM AC toDC boost converter that operates with unity power factor and sinusodial input currents is presented. The current control of the converter is based onthe predicted current control strategy with fixed switching frequency and the input current tracks the reference cuent within one sampling time interval.   • This paper's purpose is to obtain 3-Dimension information by using a monocular camera. This system embodies to obtain the height of object by using trigonometry method between a reference point of circumstance and an object. It is possible to build up system regardless of operating system, and then set it up. An comfortable USB port camera is used everywhere without the capture board. The internet can be used by using the applet and JMF everywhere. We regard the camera as a fixed. And we have developed a Real-Time JPEG/RTP Network Camera system using UDP/IP on Ethernet.

  • This paper concerns rotor vibration reduction using magnetic damper system. The fuzzy control logic is utilized to fulfill desired motion. The fuzzy system structure and membership function were first determined by simulation results. The researched control logic contains two fuzzy controller : reference position variation according to the rotor whirling status and error compensation algorithm to minimize the rotor vibration due to unbalance and unstable fluid film force. The Sugeno type output membership function was utilized by several trials and optimized membership function constants were selected from experiments. The experimental results show that the proposed method effectively control and reduce the rotor vibration with fluid film bearings.

  • In this paper an application of centralized pitch angle controller for fixed speed wind turbines based wind farm to mitigate load frequency fluctuation is presented. Reference signal for the pitch angle of each wind turbine is calculated by using proposed centralized control system based on wind speed information. The wind farm in the model system is connected to a multi machine power system which is composed of 4 synchronous generators and a load. Simulation analyses have been carried out to investigate the performance of the controller using real wind speed data. It is concluded that the load frequency of the system can be controlled smoothly.

  • In this paper, a fuzzy tuning method of a control gain in the discrete-time repetitive controller is proposed for precise tracking control of a system whose reference signal is repetitive. The control gain is modified by fuzzy rules which use the magnitude and the variation ofthe maximum output error in the previous repetitive period. The proposed method is applied to a direct drive 2-axis SCARA-type robot and, it is illustratedby computer simulations and real-time experimentation that better performance can be obtained that the fixed gain-based repetitive controller.

  • An autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) can perform flexible operations even in complex underwater environments because of its autonomy. Localization is one of the key components of this autonomous navigation. Because the inertial navigation system of an AUV suffers from drift, observing fixed objects in an inertial reference system can enhance the localization performance. In this paper, we propose a method of AUV localization using visual measurements of underwater structures. A camera measurement model that emulates the camera’s observations of underwater structures is designed in a particle filtering framework. Then, the particle weight is updated based on the extracted visual information of the underwater structures. The proposed method is validated based on the results of experiments performed in a structured basin environment.

  • Autoreclosure provides a means of improving power transmitting ability and system stability. Conventional reclosure adopts the fixed dead time interval strategy, where the reclosure is activated after a time delay to restore the system to normal as quickly as possible without regard to the system conditions. However, these simple techniques cannot provide optimal operating performance. This paper presents an adaptive autoreclosure algorithm including variable dead time, optimal reclosure, phase-by-phase reclosure and emergency extended equal-area criterion (EEEAC) algorithm in order to improve system stability. The reclosure algorithm performs the operations that are attuned to the power system conditions. The proposed adaptive reclosure algorithm is verified and tested using ATP/EMTP MODELS, and the simulation results show that the system oscillations are reduced and the transient stability is enhanced by employing the proposed adaptive reclosure algorithm.

  • We developed a fiber-optic Bragg grating sensor system using a SOA fiber laser for over heat detection in power systems. To compensate the nonlinear wavelength tuning of the fiber laser, we used fixed passband wavelengths from Fabry-Perot ITU filter as reference wavelengths. Gaussian line-fitting algorithm was also used to reduce the FBG peak detection error. Compared with a highest-peak-detection and a polynomial-fitting method, the proposed Gaussian fitting algorithm could drastically reduce the measurement errors. Also the SOA fiber laser made it possible to enhance the signal-to-noise-ratio even with several kilometers of lead fiber.

  • This paper presents a new approach to the automatic control of the turn-off angle used to excite the Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) employed in electric vehicles (EV). The controller selects the turn-off angle that supports and improves the performance of the motor drive system. This control scheme consisting of classical current control and speed control depends on a lookup table to take the best result of the motor. The turn-on angle of the main switches of the inverter is fixed at $0^{\circ}C$ and the turn-off angle is variable depending on the reference speed. The motor, inverter and control system are modeled in Simulink to demonstrate the operation of the system.
