Potential Crisis and Opportunity in the K-pop Choreography Copyright

  • This study aims to expose the potential dangers of K-pop through the past and present of K-pop choreography copyrights and to suggest the need to secure digital choreography copyrights for the sustainability of K-pop considering national responsibility. As the content industry quickly sought countermeasures to digital transformation, such as the launch of K-pop platforms and the evolution of OMO (Online Merges with Offline) media commerce in response to changes in the industrial environment due to COVID-19, the annual export of the domestic content industry increased by 6.3% compared to the previous year. Accordingly, our copyright does not require that works be fixed in tangibles, as in Japan and Germany, on the basis of entrusting each country's legislation to determine whether to require fixation on choreographed works. On the other hand, the United States, France and the United Kingdom are demanding that it be fixed. Although choreography is at the center of K-pop and the value and influence of K-pop videos including cover dance through new media are discussed from various perspectives, copyright on choreography that needs to be resolved in business platforms for K-pop scalability The fact that there is such a big difference in problem perception is an area where we must not lose our vigilance. As the development of today's technology, the method of fixing a choreography looks very easy as an image, but at the same time can be stolen very quickly. Therefore, compared to overseas cases, it is urgent to improve the difference in perception of copyright registration for K-pop choreography and to supplement the system include the NFT.

Quality Verification of Fixed and Mobile Hybrid 3DTV Services via a Subjective Test of Mixed-resolution Stereoscopic Videos (혼합 해상도 양안식 영상에 대한 주관적 화질평가를 통한 고정 및 이동 융합형 3DTV 서비스의 품질 검증)

  • Various techniques have been developed for efficient compression of stereoscopic 3D videos. Mixed-resolution based approach is one representative bit-rate saving method based on the characteristics of human visual system that the mixed-resolution stereoscopic videos are perceived close to the higher resolution. However, when the difference between the left and right image resolutions is bigger than a certain threshold level, it causes the perceived quality degradation of the 3D images. Subsequently, several researches tried to find the correlation between the difference in resolution and the level of the perceived quality degradation, but they conducted the experiments just considering the difference in resolution without considering the viewing distances, so thereby different results were retrieved from test to test. In this work, we calculated the optimal viewing distance based on the human visual system, and conducted the subjective tests with the calculated viewing distance. With the results, we demonstrate that the fixed and mobile hybrid 3DTV, which is based on mixed-resolution stereoscopic images, can provide the high quality 3D services.

  • Recently, with the digitalization of a broadcasting system and the development of a communication technology, the existing trend of consuming media contents throughout the fixed-displayer and the dedicated channel is being changed. The existing user only could consume media contents under limited time and places because of the fixed-displayer and the dedicated channel. However, with advent of the IP-based terminals and HTTP adaptive streaming which transfer the media sequence according to the user's transmission condition, users become possible to enjoy the media content anytime anywhere. As the result of the alteration of the broadcasting surrounding, users can enjoy the media content while changing his terminals according to their preferences and circumstances. However, in case that users try to consume consecutively the content from last view-point ended in the previous terminal under current HTTP adaptive streaming environment, a user has to remember the last view-point, and then has to apply the view-point to the changed terminal. Thus, for solving this problem, this paper defines "User Profile" for describing the metadata for the chained content consume environment between the terminals. Also, for proving the proposed method, this paper try to demonstrate the proposed method throughout the realization of the system based on Smooth Streaming from Microsoft.

Characteristics of Bio-filter Support Media for the Odor Control (악취가스 제어를 위한 Bio-filter 담체의 특성 비교)

  • Bio-filtration utilizes microorganisms fixed to a porous medium to metabolize pollutants present in an air stream. The microorganisms grow in a bio-film on the surface of a medium or are suspended in the water phase surrounding the medium particles. Therefore, bio-filter support media play one of the most important key roles in bio-filtration of gas phase pollutants. To characterize and select the appropriate support media, gas adsorption capacity and microorganism immobilization were investigated in lab-scale experiments for the selected target support media which were compost I (compost from lab-scale process), compost II (compost from municipal facility), bark, wood chip, orchid stone and vermiculite. As odor materials, ammonia and trimethylamine were utilized. From the result of experiments, bark was superior to any other support media tested in adsorption capacity as much as 12.5 mg ammonia per 1 g bark. In trimethylamine adsorption, bark and wood chip showed a remarkable results of 21.1 and 14.1 mg/g respectively. On the other hand, microorganism fixation test determined by the count of nitrogen oxidizing microbes population, the compost II and wood chips showed the best results. Considering the characteristics of materials and the operating condition of the bio-filter, bark, wood chip, and compost II are applicable to the support media of bio-filter when they are appropriately blended on the basis of studying the media pH, packing porosity and moisture contents.

Coloring Analysis of Digital Textile Printing According to the Type of Fiber (섬유 종류에 따른 디지털 텍스타일 프린팅의 발색성 비교 분석)

  • Whole process of textile printing is made by computer and it remarkably improves environment problem. This digital textile printing is becoming next step environment friendly textile printing method. But, still now range of textile possible for digital textile printing is limited, and also color analysis according to fiber types is not completed. The ink printed on the fabrics through DTP printer can be absorbed and fixed into textile without any blots by pre-treatment using suitable media solution for fabrics types. The chemical formulation of media solution used in the pre-treatment process varies according to the types of textiles and inks for DTP products. First, I studied reference books or articles about color analysis of digital textile printing. Second, I recorded pre-process, printing, post-process and coloring of silk, wool, nylon at same condition. After that, I analyzed $L^*\;a^*\;b^*$, Total K/S, ${\Delta}E$ and studied color intensity and coloring. According to this study, I suggested particular textile special for coloring and manual for affective coloring control. It showed that the performance of the digital printing on the Silk, Wool and Nylon blend fabrics treated by the media solution developed in this study was better than the one treated by the previous media solution for each single inks.

  • Blast furnace slag presents coarse surface for microbes to grow on and high calcium and magnesium contents to neutralize acid to be produced during anaerobic digestion. Also, slag contains aluminum and iron oxides which would promote biological flocculation, and minerals which would stimulate microbial growth. Acid wastes like dairy waste, carbohydrate waste, sanitary landfill leachate and molases wastes were applied without neutralization to laboratory reactors to examine the applicability of blast furnace slag as media. The study results indicated slag media was effective to neutralize pH and maintain microbial population in the system. Particularly, COD removal efficiency was greater than those from plastic media operations treating dairy waste at higher loading rates.

  • This paper presents a direct seek control algorithm for swing-arm type dual stage servo system that consists of a coarse actuator and a fine actuator. The proposed scheme is to design a control system that attenuates the effect of dynamic coupling between the two actuators so that the seek operation can be performed in a single-shot with stability. In an optical drive system with dual stage servo mechanism, the effect of dynamic coupling between the two actuators needs to be handled during the coarse seek operation due to its inherent structure. In an extreme case, the two actuators can collide each other, which leads to critical degradation of the seek performance. To handle this problem, our proposed control scheme is to generate the drive signals such that the two actuators behave as if they are a single fixed body. To this end, a feedforward controller and two feedback controllers are designed that enable the current drive system perform wide range of track seek. Simulation results are provided to show the validity and feasibility of our proposed algorithm.

  • In this paper, we conducted a test of the 3D printer injection method and LSU (Laser Scanning Unit) feature a fusion of the polygon mirror scanning system that is the core mechanism operation for 3D printers for office laser printers SLA system. These tests ensure that the laser was operating and control well was confirmed that a certain point is output to the X-axis by means of a laser module and a polygon mirror. And confirmed after the F-theta lens is incident on the fixed laser power of the beam, and correction according to the correction beam on the mirror reflection was confirmed jineunji the focus according to the Z-axis upper plate.

Method of extracting context from media data by using video sharing site

  • Recently, a lot of research that applies data acquired from devices such as cameras and RFIDs to context aware services is being performed in the field on Life-Log and the sensor network. A variety of analytical techniques has been proposed to recognize various information from the raw data because video and audio data include a larger volume of information than other sensor data. However, manually watching a huge amount of media data again has been necessary to create supervised data for the update of a class or the addition of a new class because these techniques generally use supervised learning. Therefore, the problem was that applications were able to use only recognition function based on fixed supervised data in most cases. Then, we proposed a method of acquiring supervised data from a video sharing site where users give comments on any video scene because those sites are remarkably popular and, therefore, many comments are generated. In the first step of this method, words with a high utility value are extracted by filtering the comment about the video. Second, the set of feature data in the time series is calculated by applying functions, which extract various feature data, to media data. Finally, our learning system calculates the correlation coefficient by using the above-mentioned two kinds of data, and the correlation coefficient is stored in the DB of the system. Various other applications contain a recognition function that is used to generate collective intelligence based on Web comments, by applying this correlation coefficient to new media data. In addition, flexible recognition that adjusts to a new object becomes possible by regularly acquiring and learning both media data and comments from a video sharing site while reducing work by manual operation. As a result, recognition of not only the name of the seen object but also indirect information, e.g. the impression or the action toward the object, was enabled.

  • For a P2P network, the contents distribution is a very important service because the contents provider is not fixed. And in the P2P media streaming, a request peer replays and saves media data simultaneously, and after streaming it acts as a new source peer providing media files to other peers. Therefore streaming and file saying operations should be simultaneously carried out in order to distribute contents through the P2P network. In this paper, a P2P multi-source media streaming system which can replay the contents data during downloading is proposed and implemented. The system reduces the user response time and the number of simultaneous user increases more than two times. Moreover, transmitting a part of media file makes fast distribution and diffusion of contents possible.
