  • According to the Labor Standard Law in Japan which was enacted after World War II in 1947, all work hours for adult men, women, and youth were set at a maximum of eight hours per day and forty-eight hours per week. In other words, a six-day work week, with only one-day off, was set. Now we are in the full five-day and two-day off school system. The five-day school week influences on our home life. Students are highly enthused by the new system, in looking forward to their personal time they now have to play with friends, to relax, or just watch TV. To implement this new five-day school system positively and effectively, we should see the point at issue related to the two-day off system from a different angle, which suggests that we should see far ahead into the future.

Since the introduction of the five-day work week system in Korea, people's leisure activities have changed greatly. The purpose of this study was to examine how leisure activities have changed after the introduction of the five-day work week and to find out the variables which influence the way Koreans spend their leisure time. The conclusion and results of these analyses are follows: The five-day work week system increased people's leisure hours, but they were still working more than 40 hours per week and their satisfaction from leisure activities was more influenced by other variables than the enforcement of the five-day work week system. • Based on 'Backpack-free day' and 'Unsupervised studying day' in the early 1980s, 10% of all schools in 2004 had at least 1 day of five-day classes a month as at least 2 days were enforced in 2006, and most elementary and middle schools had widely enforced the five-day class since 2012 March. The five-day class system expands the stage of studying from school to families and local societies to build an educational community related to school-family-local societies to provide various activities such as culture, art, sports, social, nature experiences on holidays to have the goal to foster creative future talents with proper personality understanding and considering others. In Busan, the five-day week class of Saturday program is being operated in various methods by national local government and public organizations. The Saturday program of local societies registered in the Saturday school of the information sharing networks are 2823 in total for the past 6 years which are being operated by national local government and public organizations. However, participation of students in the Saturday program is around 20% in 2012 March when Saturday holiday system was widely conducted. For this, problems in the Saturday programs that are currently being enforced are to be closely analyzed and participation expansion plans are to be made. Therefore, this study analyzes and investigates operation forms of Saturday programs conducted in Busan to propose an improvement plan to fulfill goals of Saturday programs and boost participation of students.

  • This study investigates the influences of factors such as type and degree of family leisure among parents with five day work weeks on adolescents' perceived family strengths. Its findings are based on questionnaires collected from 525 male and female parents of middle school students. Factor analysis and MANOVA were employed for data analysis and $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ tests for post-hoc analysis. The main findings were as follows. First, adolescents whose parents work five days a week were at a higher level than other adolescents in terms of finances, family ties, communication, and social ties. Second, there were no significant differences concerning adolescents' family strength by type of family leisure. Third, adolescents with more family leisure activities scored higher than others in the areas of manageable strengths, financial levels, family ties, communication, and family social ties. Fourth, among families following the five day working system, adolescents who had more family leisure activities scored higher than the others in regards to manageable strengths, financial levels, family ties, communication, and family social ties. Additionally, where adolescents thought they had fewer family leisure activities, family-oriented adolescents tended to be engaged in higher physical-activity-oriented and hobby-oriented activities in relation to manageable strengths, financial level, family ties, and communication and hobby-oriented adolescents engaged in higher than average amounts of physical-activity, strengthening family social ties in the process. Fifth, concerning families not adhering to the five day working system, adolescents who had more family leisure activities scored higher than others in terms of manageable strengths, financial levels, family ties, communication, and family social ties. As the above results indicate, family leisure activities appear to be a key factor influencing family strength. Therefore, further support should be extended toward developing new forms of family leisure and additional studies should be devoted to the subject.

  • PURPOSE. The purpose of this research was to evaluate the amount of reosseointegration after counter torquing (reverse torque) and transposing the installed implants at different times. MATERIALS AND METHODS. This study was done on ten tibiae of five cross-bred dogs. At the first day one implant was installed in each tibia. After one week half of the implants were randomly counter torqued (1WCT) and the other half were explanted and reimplanted in a new juxtaposition site (transposed)(1WT). At the same time three new implants were installed in each dog, one of them was considered as one week control (1WC) and remaining two as 8 week groups (8WCT&8WT). After eight weeks the 1WCT and 1WT implants were loosened by counter torque and the quantity of needed force for liberation was measured with the digital device (BGI). At the same time one implant was installed in each dog as eight week control (8WC) and the same protocol was repeated for 8 week groups after another 8 weeks. RESULTS. All implants were osseointegrated. Mean quantities of osseointegration in case groups indicated better amounts rather than control groups. CONCLUSION. Counter torque or transposition of the installed implants one week or eight weeks after the implantation did lead to osseointegration.
