생분해 어구 보급 확대에 따른 경제적 효과 분석 (Analysis of economic effects of expanding of biodegradable fishing gear)

  • Recently, as the global problem of marine debris and marine plastics is getting serious, various ways to solve them have been proposed, and the use of the biodegradable fishing gear is proposed as an alternative. Currently, 13 types of biodegradable fishing gears are available, but their penetration rate is only 8.7%. However, the need for the use of the biodegradable fishing gear is growing as awareness of protecting marine ecosystems is growing. Therefore, in this study, the economic effects of the expansion of biodegradable fishing gear distribution in Korea's coastal areas were analyzed through the conservation of marine ecosystems, augmentation of fisheries resources, and augmentation of fishing efficiency. According to the analysis, the economic effects of 52,795 million won, 105,590 million won, and 158,385 million won was generated as the distribution of biodegradable fishing gear were expanded to 10%, 20% and 30% across all gill net and trap.

  • 한국 제주도와 대마도 주변해역을 중심으로 고등어와 정어리를 주어획대상으로 선단조업을 하고 있는 건착망어업의 어선의 성능, 어패의 크기, 어획성능, 조업해역별 단위노력당 어획량등을 조업어선의 톤급별로 분석, 검토한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 망선의 총톤수(x)와 건착망의 면적(y)간에는 y=538.8x+99657.3의 관계가 있었다. 2. CPUE의 계절변동지수는 11~4월은 기분보다 높고, 5~10월은 낮은 현상을 나타내었다. 3. 각 해역에 있어서 톤급별 어획성능지수는 톤급별, 해역별 CPUE는 1%의 유음수준에서 차가 인정되었다. 4. 톤급별 망어패의 효율은 A와 D급선 보다 B와 C급선이 높은 현상을 나타내었다

  • 어선용 고효율 표준 프로펠러 개발에 대해 고찰해 보았다. 어선용 프로펠러의 경우 모형시험이나 이론해석을 통한 정도 높은 설계가 이루어지지 않고 시리즈 데이터(주로 MAU 시리즈)에 의존하여 초기설계 수준에 머무르고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 52톤 어선을 기준으로 개발되었으며 기존 MAU 형 프로펠러보다 성능이 우수한 프로펠러를 손쉽게 설계, 적용할 수 있는 NACA형 단면을 사용한 시리즈 프로펠러 자료를 제공하기위한 연구를 수행하였다. 또 한 기존의 복잡한 설계 방식 대신에, NACA형 프로펠러를 표준화하여 보다 편리하게 사용할 수 있도록 하였다. 향후 모형 시험을 통한 추진 성능 및 캐비테이션 성능 검증을 수행할 계획이다.

연안개량안강망 어업의 어획성능 및 어획능력 추정 (Estimation of fishing power and fishing capacity on coastal stow net fishery in the Korean waters)

  • The coastal stow net (stow net hereafter) in Korea is one of the major fishing methods for yellow croaker (Larimichthys polyactis), ribbon fish (Trichiurus lepturus), and anchovy (Engraulis japonicus). In terms of energy efficiency, the stow net fishery is more competitive than towing fishing gears such as trawl gears. The fishing vessels in stow net fishery have consumed less fossil fuel and also have had less carbon dioxide emission into the atmosphere. however, the stow net fishery is necessary to be regulated due to its increased output of the fleet. Therefore, it is required for fisheries authorities to manage the fishing capacity or fishing power for the assurance of fishery's sustainability. For fisheries management authorities, it is necessary to quantify data related to fishing capacity and fishing power to deploy fishery policy in a sustainable way. In terms of data for decision-making, Data envelopment analysis (DEA) method was conducted to estimate fishing capacity. Fishing power index (FPI) was also applied to calculate relative fishing power to approach the problem in a quantitative way.

  • This paper established the analytical model of sea surface oscilation of simple type fishing port with vertical wave absorbor. This model is composed by MAEM(Matched Asymptotic Expansion Method) for wave amplification in fishing port and EEM(Eigen - function Expansion Method) for wave absorbing characteristics against vertical perforated plates. Dimensionless porosity by adopting Darcy's law was introduced to evaluate wave absorbing characteristics of the perforated structure. Using the model, the efficiency of the vertical perforated plates was studied for fishing port tranqulity with number of plates, array method and plate intervals. Optimal design and arrangement of perforated plates can be applied to develop multipurpose fishing ports and villages.

부력조정에 의한 외끌이기선저인망의 어획성능 개선 (Improvement of fishing efficiency of Danish seine to ratio of buoyancy by sinking force)

  • This study was carried out to offer fundamental data for improving the fishing efficiency of the Danish seine. The net height and the shape in the water was measured to analyze the efficiency of the existing Danish seine. And then, an improved fishing gear was developed based on the results and was tested in the field. Measuring devices were attached on center of a ground rope and a head rope. The net height is the spread distance between the ground rope and the head rope, which was measured on the different ratio of buoyancy. The results are obtained as follows. The net height estimated from the design plan of horizontal hanging ratio 0.40 in the existing Danish seine A and B estimated both 4.94m. The net height of the existing Danish seine A and B was respectively 1.8m and 2.3m, which form 36.4% and 46.2% of the net height estimated from the design plan. Buoyancy was changed as 79.5% and 96.2% relative to the sinking force in the existing Danish seine. The net height of 79.5% was 3.95m which increased to 80% of the estimated net height. The other shows the same result with the first case. It is not necessarily that the high buoyancy/sinking force ratio make the high net height, 80% is adequate as the buoyancy/sinking force ratio. In case of the improved Danish seine, the mean net height was about 5.0m, means 58.3% of estimated net height 8.58m.

어장·어촌과 연계한 지방어항건설사업의 평가분석 (The Evaluation Analysis of the Local Fishing Port Construction Project in Connection with Fishery and Fishing Village)

  • The government has promoted the local fishing port construction project since 1972 for conquest of the crisis of the fishing village by withering of a fishery, the improvement in fishermen's living environment and quality of life, and promotion of fisheries. In order to estimate the local fishing port construction project objective and synthetically, and to grope for the method proposal of system establishment of the project, the monitoring survey was carried out. The monitoring survey was classified into the program and the performance monitoring. The program monitoring was carried out in order to investigate the project fit for the inhabitants of a fishing village. The performance monitoring was carried out in order to investigate the development latent powers, fishery latent powers, tourism latent powers of a fishing village, rural settlement conditions, etc. using various statistical materials. Since investigating the measured value before executing a policy was not completed, the project effect was compared with the measured value of other areas. According to the local fishing port construction project, the development latent powers, fishery latent powers, and tourism latent powers of the fishing village where the project was undertaken improved greatly, and income of the fishing village increased greatly. As a result of comparing project fit in order to evaluate the project, the project fit of the local fishing port construction project area was higher than the non-project area. Desirable method proposal of monitoring survey was established and the method for raising the efficiency of monitoring survey was extracted.

  • This study is attempted to serve the fundamental theory for ‘The reorganization of Korean coastal and adjacent water fishery.’ On the Korean coastal and adjacent water fishery where one species stock is catched by multiple fisheries, traditional analysis is not suitable, as analyzing through adjusting the heterogeneous fishing effort among the fisheries to an unit having same fishing strength. Therefore, this study presents the ‘Multi-Variable Model’, adopting fishing effort from each fishery as independent variable, respectively, in order to analyze the quantitative fluctuation of fishery resource not with fishing strength but with amount of fishing effort, measured by the unit of each fishery. For the sake of simplication, this study assumes that one species is catched by two fishery, premise two assumption. 1) Every fishery has not the selectivity in fishing 2) The promotion of fishing efficiency is accomplished in the same speed. 어획능력(Fishing Capacity)의 측정과 감축수준 결정에 관한 연구 -기선권현망어업을 중심으로- (A Study on the Measurement of Fishing Capacity and the Determination of Its Reduction Levels)

  • This study was aimed at measuring the fishing capacity of Powered Anchovy Drag Net Fisheries (PADNF) in Korea using Peak-to-Peak(PTP) and Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA) methods recommended by FAO. In the analysis, both fishing capacities of total PADNF and individual PADNF vessels were measured with time series data and cross sectional data, respectively. In addition, the results of the DEA measurement were analyzed in order to determine reduction levels of fishing capacity. In case of total PADNF, the results by rn and DEA methods showed a similar rate of capacity utilization (79%), indicating the capacity was not utilized enough. In addition, the sensitivity analysis suggested that the number of vessels should be reduced by 20%, and the gross tonnage and the horse power should be reduced by 20% and 21%, respectively if the current catch is to stay at the 2004 level. The DEA results on individual PADNF vessels indicated the capacity utilization was 75% on average, showing some differences in capacity utilization among vessels (31%-100%). The results of the study would be useful for measuring production efficiency in PADNF. They would also provide good policy information for efficient use of resources and capacity reduction levels, which are useful far vessel buyback programs of coastal and offshore fisheries.

수치해석기법을 이용한 에너지 저소비형 대형 중층 트롤어구 개발 (Development of a low-energy used large midwater trawl using a numerical method)

  • Fuel consumption in fisheries is a primary concern due to environmental effects and costs to fishermen. Much research has been carried out to reduce the fuel consumption related to fishing operations. The fuel consumption of fishing gear during fishing operation is generally related to hydrodynamic resistance on the gear. This research demonstrates a new approach using numerical methods to reduce fuel consumption. The results from the simulation were verified with results that mirrored the model experiments. By designing the fishing gear using drawing software, the whole and partial resistance force on the gear can be calculated as a result of simulations. The simulation results will suggest suitable materials or gear structure for reducing the hydrodynamic forces on the gear while maintaining the performance of the gear. Furthermore, the efficiency of low energy used trawl as economic point of view will be dealt. This research will helpful to reduce the GHG emissions from fishing operations and lead to reduce fishing costs due to fuel savings.
