  • This paper proposes a design of a dual-band band-pass filter that integrates a λg/2 open SIR structure, a transmission line, and a fork-type structure with symmetric and asymmetric open stubs. To obtain the dual-band effect, the proposed filter uses the SIR structure and adjusts the impedance ratio of the SIR structure. Therefore, the position of the harmonics of the filter is shifted through the adjustment of the impedance ratio, and this can obtain a double-band effect. In order to obtain the dual-band characteristics, the dual-band effect is obtained by inserting a open stub between the SIR structures with the SIR structure divided in half. In addition, the second frequency response is obtained by adjusting the length of the open symmetrical stub in the fork-shaped structure. The asymmetrical open stub in the fork form achieves optimum bandwidth by adjusting the length. Therefore, the first center frequency of the proposed band-pass filter is 5.896 GHz and the bandwidth is 13.6 %. At this time, the measurement results are 0.13 dB and 33.6 dB. The second center frequency is 5.906 GHz and the bandwidth is 13.6 %. At this time, the measurement results are 0.15 dB and 19.8 dB. The reason is that when the impedance ratio (Δ) is higher than 1, the position of the harmonic is shifted to a lower frequency band. However, if the impedance ratio (Δ) is lowered by one step, the position of harmonics will move to a higher frequency band. The function of the filter designed using these characteristics can be obtained from the measurement result. The proposed band-pass filter has no coupling loss and no via energy concentration loss because there is no coupling structure of input/output and no via hole. Therefore, system integration is possible due to its excellent performance, and it is expected that dedicated short-range communication (DSRC) system applications used in traffic communication systems will be possible.

  • Galaxies associated with massive groups/clusters are normally gas deficient in contrast to field galaxies. HI observations on such galaxies have revealed signs of violent gas stripping, the direct evidence of the environmental effect. At the same time, the notable number of passive galaxies at the cluster outskirts indicates the presence of pre-processing that makes galaxies gas-poor before entering clusters. We investigate the possible channels for the production of the gas deficient galaxies using the state-of-the-art cosmological hydrodynamic zoom-in simulations of 16 clusters (Choi&Yi). We find cluster effect and pre-processing together play an important role in producing the gas-poor galaxies and in both cases gas loss qualitatively agrees with the ram pressure stripping description. Among the currently gas-poor cluster galaxies, 34% are pre-processed before the cluster infall. They are mainly satellites that have undergone ram pressure stripping in group halos. 43% deplete quickly after arriving at cluster during their first approach to the center. Some of them are group halo satellites low in the gas at the infall compared to galaxies directly coming from the field. 24% retain gas even after their first pericentric pass mainly because they are falling into low mass clusters and/or they have a circular orbit that minimizes the ram pressure effect. This study highlights the importance of the past history of galaxies, especially in group halos, before joining the current cluster when understanding the excess of passive galaxies in clusters.

  • The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of naringin on the pharmacokinetics of tamoxifen in rats. Tamoxifen (10 mg/kg) was administered orally 0.5 h and 3 days after oral administration of naringin (5 mg/kg). The plasma concentrations of tamoxifen were increased significantly tv naringin compared to control. Absorption rate constant ($K_a$) of tamoxifen with naringin was increased significantly compared to that of the control. The areas under the plasma concentration-time curve (AUC) and the peak concentrations ($C_{max}$) of tamoxifen with naringin were significantly higher than those of the control. Consequently, the relative bioavailability (R.B${\%}$) of tamoxifen with naringin was 2-3-fold higher than the control, and absolute bioavailability (A.B${\%}$) of tamoxifen were significantly higher (p<0.05 with coadministration, p<0.01 with pretreatment) than those of the control. The increased bioavailability of tamoxifen in rats with naringin might be associated with the inhibition by naringin of an efflux pump P-glycoprotein and the first-pass metabolizing enzyme CYP3A4.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the redistribution of transverse residual stress in the multi-pass FCA butt weld of YP47 in the hatch coaming top plate of ultra large size containership under the tensile cyclic load. In order to do it, the configuration of modified H type specimen including restraint length was first designed to simulate the restraint condition of the butt weld in hatch coaming top plate. FE analysis procedure for evaluating the transverse residual stress was verified by comparing the calculated mean and surface residual stresses with the measured results in the test specimen. After that, the effect of the cyclic load on the redistribution of transverse residual stress was evaluated by comprehensive FEA. From the results, it was found that although the maximum transverse residual stress decreased with an increase in the applied maximum load, the effect of the cyclic load on the mean residual stress is small enough to be negligible. It is because the maximum stress of the ship corresponding to the probability of 10E-8 is less than 70% of yield stress of the weld.

  • The resonance of boiler is caused by exciting force in the gas path and it generates the vibration by the harmony of boiler's dimensional factor. According to trending toward the boiler of increasing capacity and a bigger size, it has a problem of the vibration at back-pass heating surfaces. We can predict such vibrations as comparison between vortex frequency and gas column's natural frequency. We can't rely on the method for the past decades because of changing parameters, such as an allowable error, gas temperature, gas velocity, Strouhal number. We can reduce the vibration to use the seasoning effect and change the operating condition in coal fired boiler but it's not essential solution. When the vibration occurred in the model boiler, we must measures the acoustic pressure and frequency of places for considering the means. So far, we confirmed the problem from field measures and theoretical analysis about the acoustic vibration of boiler. We installed anti-acoustic baffle in a existing boiler to change the acoustic natural frequency at the cavity, which results in reducing the acoustic vibration. The first, we prove that the acoustic resonance is caused by harmonizing vortex shedding frequency of tube heat surface with acoustic natural frequency of cavity in the range of 650~750 MW loads. The second, the acoustic resonance at the back-pass heating surface has the third order of acoustic natural frequency at the second economizer. We install five anti-acoustic baffles at the second economizer to reducing the resonance. We confirm considerably reducing the acoustic vibration of boiler during the commercial boiler.

  • Grain refinement is the only strengthening mechanism that improves both strength and toughness. Controlled rolling and accelerated cooling techniques have been known to be effective method to improve the mechanical properties by controlling the recrystallization and/or grain coarsening during processing. Repeat phase transformation $(\gamma/\alpha)$ by repeat heat treating is another way of grain refinement. In this study, a combined effect of controlled rolling and repeat heat treating was investigated. To study the effects of Mo addition and process parameters, Mo alloyed low carbon steels were prepared and thermomechanical controlled processes were simulated in the Gleeble system. The Mo addition resulted in an increasement of the grain coarsening temperature and suppress austenite recrystallization. The optimum condition for the refinement of austenite was obtained when the controlled rolling was performed twice with the same heat treatment condition, and reduction ratio of second pass was higher than that of first pass.

  • The authors investigated the effect of feedback and remediation after formative assessment (FRFA) by comparing the FRFA score and that of summative assessment (SA) in a course on clinical skills. In March 2015, 33 subjects underwent evaluation of their ability to perform a complex clinical skill using a real-time ready-made mobile assessment form tool, and through e-mail they were supplied with their feedback and final score (the pass group earned 2 points; the intermediate group earned 1 point; the nonpass group earned 0 points) followed by their self-reflection. The nonpass group underwent a re-test and e-mail feedback again until they passed the test, given the ease of performance. In December 2015, the 33 subjects took a 10-item SA, and one of the 10 items addressed a similar clinical skill. The difference between the first score on the FRFA and the score on the SA was evaluated statistically (p=0.05) through data analysis, variance distribution, correlation analysis, and linear regression analysis using SPSS software ver. 16. The increase from the score on the SA to that on the FRFA was statistically significant ($4.5{\pm}9.29$) in the pass group and the intermediate group, and was $29.7{\pm}11.49$ in the nonpass group of the formative evaluation (p<0.001). Using an FRFA could decrease the range in the standard deviation of the score and increase the minimum score among the subjects.

  • This study aims to analyze the affecting factors-construction of collaborative planning process and effect on Comprehensive Rural Village Development Project. To this end, targeting the 36 districts which were selected for 2004 Comprehensive Rural Village Development Project and completed their 2010 5-year projects, components of collaborative planning process and planning effect will be drawn and the affecting factors-construction of collaborative planning and effect on Comprehensive Rural Village Development Project will be analyzed below. According to the results of this study, the affecting factors of collaborative planning process of Comprehensive Rural Village Development Project on planning effect, The level of effect of individual component on endogenous variable appeared greatest mostly in the upper groups. In terms of the level of individual component effect, social learning process and interaction among participants affected greatest. The process of Comprehensive Rural Village Development Project is evaluated that it reflected collaborative planning theory of Healey enough. Therefore, in the course of Comprehensive Rural Village Development Project progress, collaborative planning model must pass social learning process and interaction among participants which are the most important components out of collaborative planning process as we saw in the upper groups. And in order to maximize the performance and results of Comprehensive Rural Village Development Project, the following sequential affecting factors model as Figure 7 must be suggested as optimal collaborative planning models of Comprehensive Rural Village Development Project. Based on the results of the study, the policy implication was drawn as follows. First, systematic supplementations in the form of a consultative body are required to perform Comprehensive Rural Village Development Project efficiently. Second, network needs to be built among different participants in Comprehensive Rural Village Development Project process. Third, systematic mechanism is required to improve social learning among different participants. Fourth, systematic rearrangement is required to guarantee the residents' realistic participation in the course of Comprehensive Rural Village Development Project process.

  • In noisy environments, human speech productions are influenced by noises(Lombard effect), and speech signals are contaminated. These distortions dramatically reduce the performance of speech recognition systems. This paper proposes a method of the Lombard effect compensation and noise suppression in order to improve speech recognition performance in noise environments. To estimate the intensity of the Lombard effect which is a nonlinear distortion depending on the ambient noise levels, speakers, and phonetic units, we formulate the measure of the Lombard effect level based on the acoustic speech signal, and the measure is used to compensate the Lombard effect. The distortions of speech under noisy environments are cancelled out as follows. First, spectral subtraction and band-pass filtering are used to cancel out noise. Second, energy nomalization is proposed to cancel out the variation of vocal intensity by the Lombard effect. Finally, the Lombard effect level controls the transform which converts Lombard speech cepstrum to clean speech cepstrum. The proposed method was validated on 50 korean word recognition. Average recognition rates were 82.6%, 95.7%, 97.6% with the proposed method, while 46.3%, 75.5%, 87.4% without any compensation at SNR 0, 10, 20 dB, respectively.

  • Sumi-e is one of the art work that uses not only ink line but also color painting. This technique is well known as a representative Asian painting style and widely used in movie, advertisement poster and various effect in camera device. In this paper, we propose an algorithm that can generate result image with Sumi-e effects of example image based on computer graphics and image processing techniques. For this, we pass two steps. The first is painting expression step. We used texture transfer technique to generate result with texture effect of reference image by analyzing numerically. The second step is ink-painting effect generation step. We express ink-painting effect in outline by considering intensity variation in edge of example image. Our algorithm can express various Sumi-e style based on selected reference image. So it can be utilized to various contents generating research.
