  • This experimentation is to apperciation an efficiency of repair for processing crack by corrosion of steel reinforcing, Crack on concrete by corrosion of steel reinforcing is the fact that the first crack appear on the surface of water because of supplying is of oxygen and water. The crack processing is on surface to be contacted by air and to bottom as mainly the vertical direction from a surface of water. The experimentation gives rise to crack in model by electricity. Crack by corrosion of steel reinforcing is more internal crack than external crack. since it is so. crack by corrosion of steel reinforcing have to attention to repair or intermal crack.

  • An efficient method based on analytic solutions is applied to solve anti-plane Mode III crack problems. The analytic technique developed earlier by the present authors for Laplace's equation in a simply-connected region is now extended to general Mode III crack problems. Unlike typical numerical methods which require fine meshing near crack tips, the present method divides the cracked bodies, typically non-convex or multiply-connected, into only a few super elements. In each super element, an element stiffness matrix, relating the series coefficients of the traction and displacement, is first formed. Then an assembly algorithm similar to that used in the finite elements, is first formed. Then an assembly algorithm similar to that used in the finite elements, is developed. A big advantage of the present method is that only the boundary conditions are to be satisfied in the solution procedure due to the use of analytic solutions. Several numerical results demonstrate the efficiency and accuracy of the present method.

  • In this paper, the stability of a cracked cantilever beam subjected to follower force is presented. In addition, an analysis of the flutter instability(flutter critical follower force) of a cracked cantilever beam subjected to a follower compressive load is presented. Based on the Timoshenko beam theory. The vibration analysis on such cracked beam is conducted to identify the critical follower force for flutter instability based on the variation of the first two resonant frequencies of the beam. Besides, the effect of the crack's intensity and location on the flutter follower force is studied. The crack section is represented by a local flexibility matrix connecting two undamaged beam segments. The crack is assumed to be in the first mode of fracture and to be always opened during the vibrations. Generally, the critical follower force for flutter is proportional to the crack depth.

  • In this paper, the stability of a cracked cantilever Timoshenko beam with a tip mass subjected to follower force is investigated. In addition, an analysis of the flutter instability(flutter critical follower force) and a critical natural frequency of a cracked cantilever Euler / Timoshenko beam with a tip mass subjected to a follower force is presented. The vibration analysis on such cracked beam is conducted to identify the critical follower force for flutter instability based on the variation of the first two resonant frequencies of the beam. Therefore, the effect of the crack's intensity, location and a tip mass on the flutter follower force is studied. • In case of $K_{Imax}$ < $K_{Iscc}$, the corrosion fatigue of high strength steel in 0.1N $H_{2}$S $O_{4}$ solution and 3.5% salt water is as follows. 1. The fatigue life shortens in order of 3.5% salt water and 0.1N $H_{2}$S $o_{4}$ solution. 2. The fatigue crack growth rate in air is obtained as the following equation. (dc/dN)$_{atr}$=7.23*10$^{-6}$ (.DELTA. K)$^{2.23}$ 3. The corrosion fatigue crack growth rate in environment is divided into three regions, that is, First Region, Second Region and Third Region from the small cyclic stress intensity. 4. The formation rate of the active surface on metal is slower than the mechano-chemical reaction rate in First Region. The crack growth rate depends on time and the cyclic stress intensity and is expressed as the following equation. (dc/dN)$_{I}$=C(/DELTA. K)$^{\delta}$ 5. The formation rate of the active surface is faster than the mechano-chemical reaction rate in Second Region and the synergistic effect by stress and corrosion becomes slow. In case the fatigue load is large, we have the critical crack growth rate which is not related to the cyclic stress intensity. 6. The corrosion crack growth rate by the mechano-chemical reaction is the same in $H_{2}$S $O_{4}$ solution and salt water, so Hydrogen accelerates the crack growth. 7. The environment has no effect on the corrosion fatigue crack growth rate in Third Region. 8. In First Region and Second Region, dimple is observed on the fatigue fracture surface in 0.1N $H_{2}$S $O_{4}$ solution. 9. The striation is observed in any environment as in air in Third Region and its interval approximately coincide with the crack growth rate.ate.e.e.

  • The grain size effect on grain boyndary cracking in Pb-Sn eutectic during isothermal fatigue was investigated. Fatigue experiments were confined to two conditions : (1) 0.4% total strain range(approximetely 0.2% plastic strain range), 1.67$\times$10$^{-3}$/s frequency; and (2) 1.5% total strain rante(approximately 1.2% plastic strain range), 8.33$\times$10$^{-4}$/s frequency. Fatigue specimens were cross-sectioned to monitor the depth of crack growth continuosly and then, the maximum crack depths in units of the number of boundaries were plotted as functions of number of cycles for these two different strain ranges. The results revealed that the rate of crack growth(per cycle at fixed rate of crosshead motion) can be expressed as dc/dN=($\Delta$$\varepsilon$$_p$)$^n$c where n is typically 2, c is the crack length, $\Delta$$\varepsilon$$_p$ is the plastic strain range, and A is a "constant" that depends on whether the crack is deeper or shallower than its first triple point of the grain boundary, A decrdases by about a factor of three after the crack hits the first triple point, indecating that the fatigue crack is trapped at the triple point of the grain boundaries.

  • We carried out fatigue testing with materials of aluminum alloyC7075-T6, 2024-T4) by rotary bending fatigue tester. We investigated fatigue limit, fatigue crack initiation, fatigue crack propagation behavior and possibility of fatigue life prediction to the different small circular hole defect. The summarized result are as follows; Fatigue limit of the smooth specimens were related tensile strength and yield strength. In case of more large applied stress and small circular hole crack defect, the fatigue crack was grown rapidly. The fatigue crack propagation behavior proceed at according to inclusion. Fatigue crack propagation ratio appeared instability and retardation phenomenon in the first half of fatigue life but appeared stability and replied in the latter half. On other hand, this experimental data of the materials are appeared fatigue life predictability.

  • A cracked composite specimen, comprised of an epoxy and an aluminium plate, was fractured under a tensile load. In this paper, two crack configurations were investigated. The first was an artificial center crack positioned in the epoxy plate parallel to the material interface. The other was for two edge cracks in the epoxy plate, again, parallel to the interface. A tensile test was carried out by gradually increasing the applied load and it was verified that the cracks always moved suddenly in an outward direction from the interface. The d/a ratio was gradually reduced to zero, and it was confirmed that the maximum stress intensity factor value for the artificial center crack, $K_{{\theta}{\theta}}^{max}$, approached that of an artificial interface crack,$K_{{\theta}{\theta}}^{ifc\;max}$ (where: 2a is the crack length and d is the offset between the crack and interface). The same phenomenon was also verified for the edge cracks. Specifically, when the offset, d, was reduced to zero, the maximum stress intensity factor value, $K_{{\theta}{\theta}}^{max}$, approached that of an artificial interface edge crack.

  • Stress intensity factors for the circumferential surface crack of a long composite cylinder under torsion is investigated. The problem is formulated as a singular integral equation of the first kind with a Cauchy type kernel using the integral transform technique. The mode III stress intensity factors at the crack tips are presented when (a) the inner crack tip is away from the interface and (b) the inner crack tip is at the interface.

  • The goal of this paper is to describe an advanced method of a crack detection: a new way to localize position and to estimate depth of a crack on rotating shaft. As a first step, the shaft is physically modelled with a finite element method and the dynamic mathematical model is derived using the Hamilton principle; thus, the system is represented by various subsystems. The equations of motion of the shaft with a crack are established by adapting the local stiffness change through breathing and gaping from the crack to an undamaged shaft. This is the reference system for the given system. Based on a model for transient behavior induced from vibration measured at the bearings, a nonlinear state observer is designed to detect cracks on the shaft. This is the elementary NL-observer (Beo). Using the observer, an Estimator (Observer Bank) is established and arranged at the certain position on the shaft. When a crack position is localized, the procedure for estimating of the depth is engaged.
